I have a Cingular 3125, working fine for weeks, happened that two days ago, I was charging the phone and transferring files to my computer via Bluetooth, nothing unusual, then it just got frozen, nothing responding, so I just took out the battery to manual reset the device and reinserted it, then tried to turn on the device, but it refuses to boot, no lights at all, also when I attach the phone charger, it doesnt show the usual orange led when charging, but I can feel that the phone gets warmer because the charger is attached and then after a while it gets a bit cooler, just like when it finishes charging, the usual behavior, but again, no lights at all trying to boot it or even attaching the charger, I've tried taking the battery off for hours and nothing also, and I wasnt overclocking the phone... would you say it just died? or maybe someone had same issues and solved it someway? thanks.

OK, I don't remember where I read this, or the exact procedure, but give this a try.
remove the battery, press and hold the red call end key (power key) for 30-45 seconds. insert battery and do a hard reset, IE.. power on holding the 2 top soft keys while powering on the phone.
this method is supposed to clear any mother board issues and reset the phone. It has been a couple of years since I read the procedure so I am not sure if this is the correct way, if it does not work, try the same thing, only try taking the battery out, then put it back in and press and hold the power key for 30 - 45 seconds.
may or may not work, but can't hurt to try.
i had the same problem with startrek which i had bought from eBay
one more advice - try to hold record (notes) and camera buttons and insert an USB cable to your PC, it should enter to Bootloader mode
well, I have dissasembled the whole thing, I havent reached anything, even disconnected the backup battery, nothing, have checked battery with a multimeter and is full loaded... in short, someway the cell phone seems has just died, Erofich, to enter bootloader mode, the phone must turn on, it just doesnt want to start at all, no lights when connecting charger or USB cable... I'm sad because it was working fine with no problems for three months and more sad because it's the end for me to windows cellphones for a long time, I've invested a lot in this phone, accesories, unlocking, and even the same day it died also bought more memory and a neat skin cover and I'm not in mood to invest more in a cell phone so I'll use a spare crappy feature phone.

one last effort
You could try one last thing, this has worked for me with a couple of startreks,
take the phone apart, and take the motherboard out, use a hair dryer to heat the motherboard, don't get crazy with it, but using the hair dryer on the high setting for about 30 to 45 seconds at about 3-5 inches, might revive the phone. (don't heat the battery, just the motherboard)
Put the phone back together while it is still hot (but not so hot that it will burn your fingers) and try to fire it up.
This has worker for me in 3 cases (phones that I bought off eBay that had the same symptoms as you have described)

I have been struggling to flash (again) the great pro V2 rom, but I always used my VMWare based XP windows version on my Vista laptop. Today I could use a genuine XP Laptop and I could make a connection and start the upgrade!
Sounds good? That's what I thought too, until the upgrade stopped at 70% (and I didn't touch anything), because of a connection error. I followed the text on my PC screen and I finally it started flashing again for a few seconds and then my startrek suddenly restarted, but it stops at the first splash screen! I tried to get my device back to bootloader mode (push 2 soft buttons and start), but no bootloader mode, only the 1st splash.
I solved the problem.
Hi. The phone application was not functioning well and the F/C dialog showed up. I powered off the phone and from that point, the phone won't turn on.
The battery was fully charged before this happened.
When I press the power button, the phone vibrates for half a second, the screen brightens up but does not show anything but a black screen.
I removed SIM and SD cards, removed the battery and performed the above steps but nothing happened.
I also tried to put on the charger to see what's going on. Once I plug the charger, the phone's screen brightens but shows only blank (even without pressing the power button)
When connected to the charger, the green light for charging is on for some minutes, then goes off automatically.
I tried to connect it to the PC, and PC Companion finds the device as usually. It even shows the dialog on the pc screen to mount the device.
I tried a hard reset, but does not work
On some point, the sony logo appeared and then a dialog saying: "sorry process system is not responding". The first time I pressed Force Close and the phone turned off. Immediately after that, the phone turned on and showed the exact message. I pressed "Wait" but nothing happened in the next 15 minutes.
I called Sony's support center and they suggested a software update. Did the process exactly as it should, but again, even after the software update the screen shows nothing but black. It is all the time brightened for some reason.
I tried to turn off the phone for some time by removing the battery, but as soon as I put the battery back on, the phone's screen brightens and stays that way forever.
The phone was functioning perfectly up until this issue. The only application I had installed apart from some games, was AWDLauncher. On the screen I had only a TASK widget and a battery status widget.
The phone is 3 months old and has been always in perfect condition.
ANY help would be appreciated!!!!

I tried the steps found in the link you gave me, but I couldn't go any further after step no (5) from the tutorial, as it would require to enable Debugging mode and I cannot access the OS (since the device won't turn on).
Is there a way to format all the contents of the device and have them replaced by running SEUS (as it always says that my device is up to date now)?

If not, use that.
Download it, follow the steps when it says you have the latest version, press "Install Anyway".

Yes that could be the problem. The thing is that I always took rally good care of the phone, always carried in a leather pouch and never droped it. How sensitive is this lcd anyway?? Did you notice any cracks on your lcd or was the problem simillar to mine?

When you turn on the phone does the lcd backlight turn on?
If so, look for any faint lines of color (usually a hairline size). If you see any of those then your screen is cracked.
the backlight is on, but there are no lines of colour on the lcd screen.
another weird thing is that the green light on the top blinks one or two times every time i put on the battery. even if the phone is off, once I insert the battery turns on automatically after a couple of seconds.

That won't do anything.
I had almost the same issue. Nothing worked. But, when I removed the battery and left it for a day (24h) without it, it just started working again. Still working without issues..

Phones are very wierd pieces of technology. I once bricked my k610i and that's a phone that's supposed to be impossible to un-brick, but out of nowhere a month or so later i picked it up, hit power and it turned on perfectly. Made no sense at all, but it worked.
Taking the battery out for a long time probably took all the electrical charges from it (kind of like how a computer power supply / monitor can hold power charges) and reset your handset.

if you have done this and did not worked , then it is the LCD.
send it to workshop and check it there.
Guys i Really need the solve of this problem , my xperia has blank screen now without backlight and the phone completely doesn't work . when i put the battery and prees the switch botton it gives me 3 red signals , i've updated and hard reset but it didn't work , and btw the LCD is fine , any idea. did removing the battery worked???? . please answer
After a looooot of time since my latest post, finally my Xperia came back to life. There was a battery failure which means the phone was ok all the time. Weird thing is that the led light showed that the battery was charging ok. I removed the battery and after a lot of time it is working ok again. This was really really odd.
FYI for anyone else that gets this issue.
I just had this for the past hour after trying to change my baseband....could not get it back for anything.
What I did finally try was run another baseband via flash tool, connected to usb and it started flashing....after flash phone powered on again...yeah I agree with everyone, that is freaking scary when it happens.
Hello, been googling this and it constantly brings me to this forum.
However my Xperia P is unmodded/rooted or whatever.
Situation:
Phone won't turn on or even charge no matter what I try. I don't even get a red charging light or any screen activity. Tried an number of chargers, sockets and USB ports. Left it over night, no change.
Trying the various "Hold down the volume button and turn it on" tricks google turns up has had no effect either.
I have not tried using the sony repair option yet because it says it will delete anything on internal storage! This phone has no SD card slot and everything is saved on the phones 16gb internal storage. This is what I care about the most, I have photos and videos from nostalgic events such as a wedding that I really REALLY want to recover. I don't care if my phone goes up in flames, its whats on it that I really want!
Background:
Two days ago it ran out of battery overnight (was pretty sure it was near full before I went to bed.) Left it in the charger the next day after I noticed it was off and came back to it a while later to see it still wasn't turning on HOWEVER I was getting the red light and the sony boot up screen and then back to black screen as there was no power. I was not paying a whole lot of attention at this stage however as I was returning home from a trip. Just assumed the cable was off and it never got a charge.
Came home and began charging it that night, again, red light still worked when I tried to turn it on indicating it had low battery,
But when I came back to it, AGAIN it still had no charge. But by this stage no more red light no more phone activity.
I've no idea what's happened. Phone has been annoying me the past 6 months with randomly running out of battery out of the blue and poor performance but I was not expecting this. Really don't want to lose those photos or vids, is there ANYTHING I can try?????

Have you updated firmware with flashtool or PC Companion before?
Do you know how to and can test if you can connect the phone in flashmode (phone off, connect to USB while pressing volume down key).
Try pressing power + volume up for about 10 seconds, see if you get the (1+) 3 vibrations to turn it off before you try flashmode.

As mention I have tried the various 'hold down button' options mentioned on various posts before. Phone does not respond. Zero vibrations... nothing.
I have used the PC companion to update my phone (android update from what I can guess). Not used flashtool before.
Holding down the volume key and plugging in the USB does nothing.

One thing reported to fix similar problem was to disconnect the battery, but didn't work for another user, worth a try though.
If you still havent gotten it working, there is a way to force charge the battery. Look at my thread, got some pics there.

I started to restore to a back-up I made two days ago in TWRP and I think it got interrupted by my accidentally canceling it. I was on my way out the door and wasn't paying attention and must've touched the screen (phone in hand).
Now it behaves much like cadcamaro's description in his recent post about having tried to install a Z2 ROM. I can get into FastBoot, but all options simply shut down the phone. If I don't choose an option, it shuts down by itself after a a minute or so.
Power + Volume Down gets a short vibration.
When I plug it into the PC, Power + Volume Up Gets me a blue LED that stays lit, but the PC (and Flashtool) doesn't see it.
Power + Volume Down gets an orange, then green LED with vibration that repeats.
The first time I realized it was screwed up, I did get into Recovery. I tried to re-run the back-up (which is saved to external SD), and it shut down.

Have you tried pressing and holding the reset button next to the SIM tray? Try holding it down for 2+ minutes and see what happens.

I just tried that in a variety of ways, and got either no response or it simply did what it was doing. I'll explain;
Believing the phone to be OFF, nothing happens for 2 1/2 minutes of pressing the Reset button.
Same goes for a variety of combinations of switches also depressed, such as Volume Up/Down, Power, or any combo therof.
(At this point, I'm uncertain if I even have much of a charge in the phone.)

I'm not sure what fastboot mode on the z3v looks like honestly, but your description sounds about right. You could try getting into xz dual recovery again and wiping the cache maybe? The instructions to there are in the xzdr thread. If you can get there wiping, a factory reset or flashing something might work but failing that you might want to try letting the battery drain all the way down. If you just let your phone sit that can take a while ( days at least) or you use a rubber band to hold down the poet and volume down button, I believe, to drain the battery. Once its dead completely connect it to your PC and see what happens.
A failed flash on a eeprom can be a hard thing to recover from, sometimes it can ruin the eeprom preminently, depends on the state the eeprom was in in the flash process,usually in erase process it will not be recoverable. . Removing power will not reset the eeprom, eeproms are preminent memory, but it can allow the device to be discovered again hopefully.
You have to get something to erase and flash again, if the eeprom is in a failed state that may be impossible to do.

So I'm assuming the eeprom is like an order of operations & file allocation index or something really basic upon which everything else is built? This is an old school term for file index, right?
So even if I manage to get everything wiped, I need to start fresh by installing the stock ROM that the phone came with and progress to where I can load the saved Back-Up that's on the External SD?
If the eeprom gets wiped as it's re-written from the Back-Up, and interruption blew this process mid-wipe, will my Back-Up still be useable?
How is it that battery drain will help my device become recognized by the PC?

Correct. Your backup is safe as long as you don't mess with sdcard storage. You have to get the eeprom healthy before you can do a recovery.
Back to working on my bricked Z3v...
Plugged into PC with Volume-Up held in yields solid Blue LED. This is the only time that in Windows 8.1 Device Manager that the phone shows up as a connected device. The name of the device is "S1 Boot Fastboot", for which there is no driver installed. When I navigate to Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined / files / adbdrivers and try to install the driver, Windows says "Windows could not find driver software for your device."
However, in the "Events" tab it shows three previous dates that the device was configured. It listed the device as such "Device USB\VID_0FCE&PID_0DDE\BH900JCL1N was configured." on those dates.
Was there something different I had to do for Windows 8? I cannot remember, but this feels familiar.
Driver Name: Google, Inc. (WinUSB)...
Status: Install failed
Meanwhile other drivers do install. What gives?
Well I was hoping for a bit more. Extremely frustrated right now as it took me about 15 minutes just to get here to see that nobody can help.
In the meantime with all the **** I've downloaded trying to fix my phone, I've completely scxrewed my computer. 4 virus scans later and I'm still f'd.

Your phone is toast and the only way to get it back is through the Flashtool imo. It wouldn't be common for many to have your circumstances with a bricked phone so you aren't getting much feedback. See if you can follow these instructions with Flashtool that I posted. I've gone from 4.4.4 to 5.02 non-rooted and back to root on 4.4.4 and then forward again so it has worked well for me.

See if you can download the 4.4.4 firmware after getting flasthool 09.18.6 installed. Granted my instructions are from Windows 10 64 bit but it should work.

So I'm typing this on my replacement phone that came today via FedEx. I was very nervous about getting a refurb, but this one really is like new. I managed to get the glass protector of the old one, rinse it off, and apply it to the new one.
Now I'm on unrooted kitkat.
If I root and install TWRP, can I simply flash my saved lollipop backup from my SD card and make this phone exactly like the other one was before I borked it?

I wouldn't recommend that. I have used titanium backups before from one device to another and it worked. The whole system from a twrp backup really doesn't sound like a good idea.
OK. Think I'll just be patient and do it from scratch. Have to get the computer cleaned up first.
Really glad to have a clean, new z3v back again, but this ordeal has certainly impacted my confidence doing this stuff.

Hi I'm really hoping someone can help me. I received a Sony z2 tablet spg521. I was told it was new but it would not power on or charge, and the charge light would sometimes blink red. Well I got the fixed or so I thought by doing a soft reset and then pc companion...sounded simple but spent a couple days trying to be successful. Sometimes my computer would recognize it sometimes it wouldn't.... Any way I finally got it out the blue dont know what the difference was I was just happy it finally worked... I then fully charged...yadayada and used it flawlessly for about a week... It would turn on and off, battery held charge like its supposed to, everything seemed to work.....then I went to power off but hit the restart by mistake....no there is no power again and this time it will not do a soft reboot.....no light ever....computer will not recognize ever....I have been trying off and on for a few days.....among-est my research to try to correct it seems like this is very common....when i shut it off the battery was over 50%..so how can something work fine then just die like this??? Ive seen that sometimes with sony if you disconnect the battery and the reconnect this will work... does anyone know? does anyone have any advice before I take apart this cherry tablet to try the battery thing???

ok today i tried to use flash-tool that Ive read about on this site....when it asked to plug n device computer recognized it and red light came on, but flash-tool did not recognize it....torn between letting it set and seeing what happens or trying to get the flash-tool to work, I chose the flash-tool...bad mistake when I went to try to reconnect and see if the FT would see it..it was no longer recognized by the computer and no light but computer did say USB device not recognized and not installed correctly.....now I already have the right drives so now Im really confused..tried a couple more times with same results and then once again nothing...no light no soft reset no recognized at all by computer not even not recognize USB....so disappointing loved the tab but this is insane that sony does this as its not user error but sony error and they dont even man-up and try to make it like you dumb or something....will try again..when i calm...
reset the device by pressing power+volume(up or down) for several seconds. It seems like a toasted one, possibly caused by putting magnetic charger on wrong polarity.
Thank you yes Ive tried all kinds of resets I have found...I agree seems fried but I would not know how. I have not used a magnetic charger...only the regular sony one that came with it....
So last few days I have tried off and on again....now computer recognizes by making noise when connected and disconnected but does not show up...PCC does not recognize it.....flashtool says its connected in log but when it asks for it to be plugged in it never leaves the screen telling you how to connect....when I try to connect the charge light comes on for about 4-5 secs then turns off....still no vibrate when try to reset still no light when plugged to a charger.....I want to get another one but I am scared this will happen again....gonna chuck this one as if time is money then I have well exceed the worth in time... I only got this because some time ago a sony z1 came my way and I so love it...i recently upgraded to z3.....i have a lg pad but screen got broke so I got the sony tab....maybe Ill just fix the lg

So last few days I have tried off and on again....now computer recognizes by making noise when connected and disconnected but does not show up...PCC does not recognize it.....flashtool says its connected in log but when it asks for it to be plugged in it never leaves the screen telling you how to connect....when I try to connect the charge light comes on for about 4-5 secs then turns off....still no vibrate when try to reset still no light when plugged to a charger.....I want to get another one but I am scared this will happen again....gonna chuck this one as if time is money then I have well exceed the worth in time... I only got this because some time ago a sony z1 came my way and I so love it...i recently upgraded to z3.....i have a lg pad but screen got broke so I got the sony tab....maybe Ill just fix the lg

Mine is kinda toasted and this is how it works. Whenever I have a problem, I have to reset by pressing power + volume up, as soon as I hear three vibrations, I turn it on by pressing power button. Otherwise this tablet will just repeat sony logo and no boot. If you have bought one "NEW" make sure to return or replace it. If you want to enter fastboot mode, repeat the resetting routine and pressing power button to turn on, but also right after that or even simultaneously press volume up to enter fastboot mode with usb cable inserted, or volume down to enter flash mode. either way, your unit is toasted and sony sucks.
Well, I have the same problem, and isn't fun. Just very extreme rare cases it turns on the screen charging the battery, but doesn't turn on sadly
I did a happy boot today after 3-4 months off with several times trying turn it on, and did all the tricks from all treats about SOD
Last weekend I did a full charge from deep red to green light and battery animation on screen at start, but no luck.
I put it back in the box
This weekend I got some visitors, one of them asked about the tab, told him it didn't work and showed to him
Pressed the power button and to my WERY BIG surprise, it vibrate and turned on as nothing was wrong
The battery was only 54% after one week off. it received a update (264) and I installed as normal, turned off and on again as normal and happy I was
