Question FM radio app or Nextradio on the Pro-I?? - Sony Xperia Pro-I

I love Sony phones, but need FM radio. I can't find a local retailer who has one I can check out, try to install nextradio and test it. Some websites say FM is supported, others say no. This is a lot of money to spend without knowing if FM works. Has anyone installed and used Nextradio or another OVER THE AIR radio app on this phone? Any issues with the current OS?

Running the Xperia PRO-I XQ-BE72 (Not USA)
No good unfortunately

Thank you. Surely won't work in USA either. I appreciate you trying.

Same here. I bought mine directly from Sony (XQ-BE62) so I'm not sure what the mobile carrier would have to do with accessing the fm functionality on the chip.

Extract FM radio??

The Artemis has FM radio built into it. I would like to get this onto my hermes.
The headphones are used as the antenna so surely it is feasable to get this to work on the Hermes as it seems that no additional hardware is required.
Have had a look at the available ext roms for the artemis but have had no luck finding the correct cab that has this program in it. Perhaps it is built into the OS itself......
Anyone have any ideas or better luck??

i 'm sure it's not possible, FM radio need hardware built in to works.

Perhaps it does, i wasn't to sure.
Just thought it was the software using the headphones plugged in as an antenna. What other hardware would you need??

i beleive you will need an AM and FM radio chipset in addition to an antenna

Tho you can try internet radio stations ...
agreed there.. with the 3g connection (or edge worked well come to think of it) i was streaming XM radio and other internet stations...
It's amazing how easy it is to make a crystal radio, and yet manufacturers continue to drag their heels on this. But then again, radio doesn't rack up bandwidth, and so doesn't earn operators anything

Help from UK users

Trying to install beebplyer but can't find it on the market, previously installed & uninstalled it, so not sure why I can't find it anymore. Can anyone please check if it's just me or whether it's now off the market? Thanks.
I read somewhere that its been pulled for the time being.
Something about a 'proper' version coming out soon.
You best bet would be to try to find the APK from somewhere else online...
damn, was looking forward to having it for the world cup.
why would they pull it before a proper one is here? just sounds like aunt beeb wasn't best pleased with it

You can still download it using the barcode scanner. I just installed it, and the quality from the video is quite poor.
I'm not surprised it got discontinued. Worth using as a last RESORT
thanks, installing now! it is a last resort...
not sure if this is any good mate as I aint tried it yet:
http://www.skynetsoftware.com/myPlayer/index.aspx?platform=Android
PS - England are currently sucking bigtime in teh world cup
thanks, hopefully I'll still need it after the group stage!
try yamgo.mobi, its way more reliable than apps.
Yes beebplayer has been pulled from the market, although there is another app called myplayer, as zoomee has already stated.
That said, I don't think those apps are as good as just going to m.tvcatchup.com
You can watch a lot of freeview channels. It requires registration, but that's free, and just a 1 time thing. Try that out.

[Q] Is there a way to get my VZW S4 GPS to work in Ireland (Europe)?

I am planning on hooking my S4 up to O2 or Vodafone when I get there with a Talk/SMS plan, but maybe no data.
Will this phone be able to lock in with GPS without having a data plan?
I realize I will need an app that has the maps cached on my phone, any reccommendations on which ones or if this is possible with Google Maps?
Thanks, guys.
Sygic. It is a paid app and costs a bit, though.
I could be wrong but I don't think you have to have a data plan to use GPS. Here's the reason behind my response:
My neighbor has been asking if he can use an unactivated iPhone as a speedometer in his 1930 Model A. At first, I said no, then researched and found mixed responses. So this morning I removed the sim from my S4 and drove to work with a speedometer app I had previously downloaded. To my suprise, it worked.

Try removing your sim card and navigating. That'd answer your question.

You do not need a data plan to use the standalone GPS functionality. If AGPS data is old it might take longer for a fix, but that's about it. It's the maps and software that you'd need to be cached/stored locally.
As proof, here is an amusing screenshot for you, and no, it's not a GPS glitch.
anyone have any experience with one of these free GPS apps?

Radio FM support?

Hello, I would like to know if this OnePlus N10 has Radio FM.
This device does not come with a radio app.
but in the factory test mode it is able to play fm radio. if someone was able to dump the apk and figure out how that works they could potentially make fm radio apk for the device.

Do you mean an app like SpiritFM or NextRadio?
By the way, none worked on my BE2029. I don't have root permissions and I'm on the official rom 10.5.9.BE86AA
You can listen to FM radio from testing mode. Just dial the following:
Code:
*#*#6484#*#*
I agree that it would be MUCH NICER if 1+ included a dedicated app to make it easier (and run in the background) like Moto does...
made a video demonstration for anyone curious
Did the code change on int and 11
How to enable FM radio on Android 11

2. Click "Actions"

How To Guide Working FM OTA Radio APP for all stock A12 N200 phones!

I pulled this Radio app from an A12 rom for the Oppo A74 India version that is basically the same phone with more memory and storage.
Oppo now uses the same kernel since A12 for all phones with the same hardware chipset, so the ColorOS APPS are all interchangeable between phones and "branding" such as OnePlus.
N200 FM Radio APP
Now you MUST plug something into the 3.5mm Jack as it needs the wire as an antenna. It can be headphones, Earbuds, powered speakers.
Another person I know connected it to his PIE with a 3.5mm extension cable and it worked when he selected the speaker option.
The straighter the cable is the better the reception. Move the cable around as needed.
You can also use "Live Caption" option and it will work with the radio as shown on screenshot.

Thanks! I remember I had this kind of thing on one of my old Samsung phones. It isn't too much use for me but it's definitely cool!
Awesome, thanks! Much appreciated... Although I've been satisfactorily using Transistor after the update to A12, nothing is quite the same as tuning in to OTA FM radio...
Is there a reason that the APK file is in a telegram channel and not a posted as an attachment here? Can someone mirror the APK somewhere that allows anonymous downloading, or post it here?
EDIT: Made an account to download the APK. It is attached to this message.
