Android 13 build instructions - Sony Xperia 1 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other D

We are happy to announce that we now have launched AOSP build instructions for Android 13!
The Xperia Open Source Project (Xperia Open Devices) is an initiative created to guide the developers step-by-step on how to build AOSP for their unlocked Xperia devices. Our instructions will show you how to prepare your environment, how to download all the necessary tools, and how to download and configure the code before you can build AOSP images and flash them on your own device.

hope that can see Android 13 on Xperia 1

I wonder why the Linux system for building is still 18.04? Why not 20 or 22 by now?

Pixel experience plus 13 works great if you apply this patch https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...el-expierence-android-12-gsi-patches.4097433/
There are just 2 problems, the auto-brightness is off so you should just use manual mode and a much bigger problem with no real solution, the flashlight fires too early so if you take a photo with flash it will be completely dark.

You mean PE GSI ROM?

AOSP 9.0 GSI October security - A and AB Arm and Arm64 Legacy - No Modifications

I compiled the GSI overnight, its aosp_arm64_a Legacy GSI, because the ones I keep downloading are all August security patch and I wanted it a little more up to date. I got the source directly from google and built it myself. AB is now uploaded as aosp_arm64_ab. A only is also up as aosp_arm64_a-aosp. I ran it on my One Plus 5, NFC was buggy but the camera, ril, Bluetooth, wifi, and everything I tried out worked. this is vanilla, so its bare bones. no apps besides the basics, no mods or any customizing. As this is a GSI it should be useable on many devices, I can only help you with the devices that I own, pixel XL and one plus 5. If you have a device other then that, you will have to find help from someone knowledgeable about that device. I have had success using twrp and fastboot to flash the system image. I was told doing it via fastboot is the best, so you can disable verified boot, then flash, then format all in one shot. My device did not require me to disable the verify boot. From my end it was literally as simple as 3 commands via fastboot and then restart the device and I was in. I flashed a 50mb gapps package from xda here, and magisk. took some photos, connected my Bluetooth speaker, made a call. sent some texts, installed a few apps. I will be staying on stock. But only because my device has stock pie, and the theming from one plus far trumps google.

Do you find it smoother than HOS Pie Beta ?
Thanks for your share! Awesome, I don't need/use NFC.

It's very fast. install and boot was very fast. but I just discovered my home button does not work. however I don't assume that would be a difficult fix. the back and pages button are working. its very bare tho, you need to install everything you want manually. Which I prefer, it gives me more control over my phone I find. Hydrogen works ok too, it just requires a bit of work to get play store going and remove all the bloatware. GSI camera worked fine from boot.

It shouldn't. But its twrp. Weird things happen. Use fastboot. Its only 3 or 4 steps. The tutorial is on the google gsi website. I tried via twrp and had no issues however. It started to launch then rebooted, second boot it loaded OK

Xiaomi 12X custom rom requested

Hi everyone, I've been trying to find a custom rom for Xiaomi Mi 12X, but none found so far. I tried to port Pixel Experience rom using the Xiaomi Mi 11X (alioth) device tree and changed accordingly, since the SOC and almost all specs are the same except Camera. Can anybody shed some light in how to correctly port the ROM for my devices without official device tree from LineageOS or Pixel Experience? Thank you.

Hi, right now I'm using crdroid gsi, which works pretty good. Except of fp, everything works as it should. It's smooth, has a good bb and even MGC's Gcam 8.1, last stable, works incl. portrait, nightmode and with all lenses (ok, no pixelbinning). Installing is pretty simple: use fastbootd and just fash img to system. That's it....

Yes, especially the sound makes problems... When usung videocall, it's awfully distorted. I'm using stock for now. With Lawnchair and some modifications it's ok for now.

But how did you built the rom. Did you get out a flashing zip directly? Normally, you create different partitions as fas as I know... Would you share your rom? Btw. which one did you build?

But you used the lineage device tree. And PE is aosp not lineage. Might that be the problem? Would you try to build crdroid? Or instruct me how to setup a build environment?
No, I used the PE device tree, not Lineage. I used the build instructions provided by Pixel Experience for Alioth.

Did you replaced vendor libs with libs from 12x and other stuff like fstab, bins, rc files..configs? Attach logs from boot if you decide to build again. My advice is to build as eng and disable encryption, put selinux to minimal mode, nuke livedisplay, import vendor modules if you build with stock prebuilt kernel. Always look for F Linker errors in log and resolve them.
I'm waiting for AOSP rom too.

What base version should I be on? I used xperifirm and newflash to return to stock android 12 firmware and then ran the bat file and everything flashed fine but it just sticks on the Sony logo.
Edit: Tried using both the latest firmware from Sony (61.1.A.4.78) and Android 11 firmware (61.0.A.23.20) both result in just sitting on the Sony logo.

Sorry to hear that. Android 12 will be the right base for latest Android Builds. But since i only have an Xperia 5 can i not test the Xperia 1 III Builds. I'm moving to Ubuntu 22.04 right now and will start from Scratch again. Think ill also need an Server for further Development... I will keep You Updated! Think ill also start using Twitter again so You can follow Me there and on My Discord Server which will also push Git Updates...

[EXPERIMENTAL][12L][GSI] riceDroid [AOSP]

riceDroid for treble enabled devices
What is riceDroid?
* Ricedroid is an operating system based on lineage/crdroid, that aims to provide necessary "ricing" for android while being fast and stable.
Terminology
* The rice in the project name can be referred to "rice" (food) itself, but in a sense it is indeed the term "ricing" in linux.
Based on Android 12
Whats working?
These are experimental builds
so expect some bugs

[AOSP 13] LeOS - ungoogled GSI

Hi all,
I have created a GSI based on latest TrebleDroid AOSP Android 13. Thanks all TrebleDroid devs for the great work.
What is LeOS:
1. It's full ungoogled
2. It includes full Working MicroG -- but this is a special LeOS-MicroG version. pls see attachment
3.This version is still a beta version and not booting on all treble devices. In some cases the GSI is better booting on devices with a custom (LineageOS) rom as base. Especially devices with A10 firmware.
4. available for now only arm64 VNDK
5. no google Apps will work !!!!
You can download latest release at https://leos-cloud.de/s/JFrFgLgSSTEMtmL?path=/LeOS-T-beta
A list of tested devices is also available in download section
Join us a telegram group for support: https://t.me/LeOS_Support
Short overview: http://leos-gsi.de
So in theory you could flash this with Pixilify and have a Pixel ROM on Android 13???
Beta 8 won't boot (stuck on bootanimation) on my OnePlus nord 100
Booted
Device: 10orG
Codename - holland2
Bugs:
camera - 99% vendor issue
Maybe more
Sad but Huawei Mediapad M5 bootloops (Android 9 vendor), i swiched back to Phh v415.
I am running the LeOS 20 version. This rom is wonderfully fluid on my Cubot Kingkong mini 2 A64 device. It runs better than A12.1!
