[Q] File copy problems - Where did I fail and how to fix

Hello,
I had [JVT]Galaxydroid 2.0 but decided to go back to stock JVT. Now I'm having all kinds of trouble with copying a file to /system/etc.
I flashed stock JVT over Galaxydroid and rooted with speedmod kernel. Wiped caches and wiped user data. Then I installed su+busybox with speedmod's recovery option.
Titanium Backup didn't want to recognize su and busybox but after few tries it worked. Then I tried to copy spn-conf.xml to /system/etc (mounted /system as writeable with ES Root Explorer) and it seems like it copies succesfully, but the filesize is 0 bytes and the file is empty.
Then I tried adb, but it can't mount and doesn't even recognize cp or other commands. Where did I fail and how to fix this?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Edit a system.img file ?

Does anyone have an idea on how to edit the contents of the system.img ?
I'd like to drop another ROM onto my Gtab (with nvflash) but I'd like to take out the bloatware before it even gets installed. There's a few apk's I'd rather not have installed. Namely the stock Home screen on 4349 & 5274 as it force closes everytime the Gtab starts up.
Thanks,
Spazmogen

You'll have to use the unyaffs and mkyaffs2image programs, and, the extract/reimage operation is best done on a Unix system (to retain the original permissions on the files).
An easier method (on Windows) might be:
1. Flash the VS stock ROM update zip (which installs bootloader, system and recovery images).
2. Nvflash ClockworkMod (APX mode).
3. Boot into CWM.
4. Run "adb remount" on PC followed by "adb shell rm /system/app/SomeFile.apk" to get rid of the unwanted app(s). Finally, unmount system with "adb shell umount /system".
5. Reboot and nvflash stock recovery (APX mode).
6. Only now boot into the stock ROM.
7. If everything works OK, use nvflash (or the dump_image program in CWM) to take a backup of the modified "system" partition.
Thanks,
I figured it would not be simple.

[Resolved][Q][Help]My own ROM can not bootup

[Resolved!]
1. there is no fonts directory in the system folder, resolve it by copying from other rom.
2. updater-script make a symlink from bash to sh, while there is no bash binary in my rom, so that adb shell doesn't work.
Hi, all,
My own rom can not bootup and hang at first screeen which only show 'HTC' boot logo. I don't know why and how to resolve this issue.
Target Model: HTC A310E with locked s-on
Origianl ROM: RUU_Pico_HTCCN_CHS_1.20.1400.7_Radio_10.34.80.09H_1.10.84.02_CHS_release_224342_signed.zip
I take the following steps:
1. unlock the target. (official unlock method)
2. flash CWM based recovery image (version: 5.x) via fastboot command.
3. copy boot_signed.img and system.img in the official ROM to ROM kitchen. (I changed the name of boot_signed.img to boot.img)
4. [Kitchen] unpack system.img
5. delete some third party apk under system/app
6. copy a updater-script from other ROM which works fine in my A310E and make slight changes.
7. [Kitchen] Build rom with default options.
8. double wipe and update my rom under recovery.
and then i encounter the bootup issue.
Please help give me some advice.
Thanks a lot!

Removing TWRP, or stock android ROM

Im giving my HTC Desire 610 to a family member, but want to remove everything from the phone. i have unrooted the phone, and tried to update to the newest android, but when the phone reboots, it comes up with TWRP. Is there a way to remove TWRP, and replace it with just the stock recovery, and so everything would be as if it was fresh out of the box?
Well, first, re-root it. Then download the stock recovery.img file and download flashify, install the stock recovery.img through flashify. Then, delete the supersu ask from your system apps folder and/ or your data apps using a file explorer, then in a file explorer again go to system/ xbin and delete the su file, and then you will have uninstalled twrp and root

Question Can i root stock oxygen OS

Hello is there any way to root OnePlus 9R oxygenOS ?
yes you can by flashing magisk img file
Open payload dumper and put the payload file from oxygen os rom zip to payload input folder, make sure that its the version that your phone is currently using.
then open payloaddumper.exe and wait until it is complete it would automatically close once its done, copy the boot.img file from the payload output folder and paste it in your internal storage of the phone
Now open the magisk app and click install and select and patch file and click on the boot.img file after magisk converts it to magisk patched.img copy and paste it to the adb tools folder , boot into fastboot mode and flash it by the command:
fastboot flash boot magiskpatched.img
Also the root will reset when you update your phone so you have to do this process again
That's it enjoy
