Question Where to download the global firmware for Xiaomi ipad 5 pro? - Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro

Last summer I bought a tablet from China, but since I am a Russian user, it is not convenient for me to use the tablet because of some parts of the interface in Chinese.
On the official Xiaomi website, I found only the Chinese version, but why would I reinstall what is already on the tablet.
Please help me find the global firmware for the tablet. I will be very grateful to you!

erroneous post

as I understand it, there are no firmware on tablets.
then another question. if I download the global firmware to a regular xiaomi mi pad 5, will it work and how will it affect the tablet?

NO it is not compitabel! You will brick it. If you have unlocked bootloader. And, Magisk root could maybe be required. Then you could take a look around for Treble gsi Roms. I like Crdroid. But best to test with pure aosp made by phh

Are you suggesting installing custom firmware? That's the only thing I understood in your message...

Listen, what if I install a naked android? The one that came out last?

@skyneli
From reading many posts on XDA forum about Mi Pad Pro including 5G model, there is no Global firmware for the Pro model. Only Chinese firmware available. MIUI that comes with Chinese firmware will have English and Chinese languages only.
But as long as the firmware works well, you can flash GSI ROMs which is pure Android system with customizable features including all the languages.
Or you can wait longer for Custom ROMs that some developers may create for the community. If you are new to this, you can google tutorials of how to flash GSI ROMs on treble support devices.
FYI I bought Mi Pad Pro 5G Chinese model but not arrive yet. I have no done anything about this device yet.

Hello, consult. I have a "my pad 5 pro" with keyboard and pencil. in case of installing a "GSI ROM" will I be able to use the keyboard and the pencil?

@dnsco For bluetooth keyboard, yes you can still use it with GSI ROM. But magnetic and pencil, I don't think so. Because these 2 probably need system that supports or activates them.
Mine is Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G but don't have any other accessories like keyboard and pencil. So I have not tested them on GSI ROMs. But stay on MIUI original ROMs or custom ROMs that are made for your model is the best choice. I flashed GSI ROM on my device and got sound problems. So I returned to MIUI 13 A11 stable.

The Xiaomi pen doesn't work on any GSI. It's a massive drawback. I don't have the keyboard so I don't know... but my guess is the same pessimism.

To buy or not to buy? - Questions: RN3pro official MIUI, rooting and custom ROMs

Hi all!
I live in Germany and would like to buy a RN3 pro from Aliexpress. I don't want to stick around with MIUI but would like to try out different CM-based ROMs. The community here seems very alive, but I am confused by certain things. So I hope you can help me :highfive:
1) Some months ago, I followed the news about the Mi4c. People were complaining that Xiaomi won't let them unlock their phones. Are there no such problems with the RN3 pro?
2) Concerning the official firmware: I read that the phones come either with a Chinese or international firmware (or sometimes even bloated by retailers), and each has a hundred of version numbers. Are all versions possible to unlock? Or do I need a particular version to be able to root/unlock bootloader/flash a custom ROM?
3) Are there any differences between the 2/16 gig and the 3/32 gig version of the RN3pro apart from RAM/storage?
4) Is Xposed working fine on CM-based ROMs?
Best regards
1. I spent around a month to get it officially unlocked, till then I unlocked unofficially in few mins. But if you unofficially unlock whenever you flash a rom you must be more conscious and read every step that's given by Developer or else you will end up bricking your device(don't worry there are solutions for very bricking scenario) . So if this is not a concern you can buy
2. Whatever the firmware phone may come with you can flash MIUI global firmware and unlock it from there.
3. Nope not that I know of.
4. Yes it's working.
Welcome to the community.

1)as an unlock reason I pasted some chineese text found in the Internet and after 1 week I got my unlock code. So no problem there
2)Developer rom is recommended for that, but I think that the never versions of stable build also support unlocking. Anyway, it's easy to install developer rom with locked bootloader
3)nope

1) If the phone is updated to the latest firmware (7.3.2 at the time of writting) then the bootloader unlocking process time will depend on how long it takes them to approve the permission for you (got my phone on Tuesday and unlocked it today).
2)Yes all are eligible, but you have to be on the latest one. Likely you will get with an outdated Chinese rom and will have to update via MIUI updater (or similar name of the official software). I also suggest looking for the phone from else where, like here in the EU (think ebay.ie had some cheap ones), since i had to pay an extra 50eur for taxes and expenses (am from Lithuania).
3) No idea, likely none. I got the 3gb version because it's more future proof and can upload 2 videos at the same time vie desktop version of facebook. Also the software itself uses about a gig of ram. Plus it's doesn't cost that much more and a gig of ram makes a difference.
4) No idea, wasn't a fan of xpossed before and am not planing to become one.

A moderator on the Xiaomi Forum just confirmed that you have a fake ROM. It seems that some resellers are flashing these fake global ROMs in order to sell them as Global.
Well, AFAIC i definitely would like to try this 'fake' ROM. Mine may be very real but also very much in chinese/english only. I wouldnt mind for myself, but my mother not so much. I'm pretty sure this is basically a reseller's modified CN ROM in order to sell as global with added languages.

can you have unlock bootloader and installer twrp and backups for me this rom
please
I received my mi pad 4 with this 'fake' global rom.
I've been using it all day and it's pretty good. It's miui but with integrated Google play out of the box.
If it is just the CN version with Google play services pre-installed then I'll stick with it for now. I don't have the ability to check if there are nefarious modifications made to this rom, but I know I'm taking a risk on it. Also I'm pretty sure there will be no over the air updates for it which is a bummer.
If there was a xiaomi.eu rom available I would flash that straight away.
The official CN image: does this include English at least?
In my opinion, I don't use this unknow chinese mod rom because she maybe contain malware.
Just use official MIUI rom or custom rom made by a good dev like in XDA.

What is my device's codename?

So hello, this is my first Xiaomi device before that I have always used Sony Xperia devices. So I am really confused about some things. I got the Redmi Note 9S 64 GB model. Acording to many web sites and some threads on XDA this model should be "curtana". But what I want to ask is about my "codename". So I am currently on MIUI global 11.0.4 (QJWTRXM) and I have looked up on XDA and many roms require you to have 11.0.7. So if I look up on https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/firmware/curtana/ I only get the QJWMIXM global version. Can I flash QJWMIXM without any problems? My wait time will end tommorow and I will be able to unlock it. If anyone can help me out on this I would be very pleased...
Oh now after I post it I think have found something about it... QJWTRXM seems to be the Turkish version of the global rom. Which is outdated compared to it. So I think I can switch to the global rom since my device is 9S (curtana).

I was wondering if we can change the codename by OrangeFox Recovery
I think the same device is called Curtana for India Note 9 pro and Curtana_global for Note 9s . Any thoughts?
I would love to change my phone to curtana_global to get rid of device codename inconsistencies when switching between global and indian roms.

MIUI 12 for curtana

Hello.
Has anybody tried fastboot version of MIUI12 for curtana? https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/curtana/
you can find other version here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/curtana/
Installed and being trying it for 3 days now. Everything works perfectly. For my day to day usage I can't say I've noticed any big differences from MIUI 11 (I was using xiaomi.eu 11.0.11.0). Usage does feel smoother and the battery does last longer, although I have no documented evidence to show. I removed the bloatware as per the 11.0.10.0 guide and I've found no bugs. All in all I'm happy with this ROM.
Edit: Just wanted to meantion the MIUI camera app. There are no added features. No clone mode and no kaleidoscope mode. The only difference from the MIUI 11 camera app is the new MIUI 12 visual.

The fastboot version is installed via MiFlash whilst the phone is in fastboot mode. Use this to flash "as new".
The recovery version is like an OTA update (I think. Never used one).
I don't know which version is better (global vs eea) because I flash as a base for custom roms.
I have the Redmi Note 9s 6/128GB Global Model.
I want to flash the Indian Firmware so I will get the MIUI contacts and dialer (and call recorder).
Can someone please check if the Indian ROM has the HEBREW language, it should look like this:"עברית" under languages.
I will be glad for your help.

For anyone else wondering, the Turkish fastboot ROM (QJWTRXM) installs fine on a global Note 9S (QJWMIXM). Everything works as far as I can tell, and all the languages are there (though call recording isn't, at least in the default Google Dialer app).

Recovery is the "OTA" ROM you install with MIUI's built-in update mechanism or a custom recovery like TWRP. Fastboot is a bit more low-level, you restart your phone into fastboot mode, connect it to a computer and use a program that manually overwrites the data on the phone's partitions, a bit like using dd on Linux or disk cloning/backup software. There's also EDL mode, which is the same as fastboot but it's built into the hardware itself, so it works even if you manage to brick fastboot somehow. On recent Xiaomi phones, it requires an authorized Mi account (or a patched ROM, or someone willing to sell you authorizations over the internet).
Global and EEA are pretty much the same thing, but EEA ROMs are intended for the European Economic Area (the EU) so they have to comply with additional regulations like having to let you choose your browser and search engine or something. As a side note, I live in the EU and pretty much every store over here is selling the Global variant of the 9S instead of the EEA one. Global ROMs are "better" in the sense that they tend to be more up to date (as of me writing this, global is on MIUI V11.0.11 and EEA is still stuck on V11.0.4).

Question Its possible install native gms on huawei p50 series european version? (p50 pocket)

Hi, I'm looking for a way to install gms on huawei p50 series European version, especially p50 pocket. I tried several methods, but all require or a downgrade, quindo you must necessarily own a p40 series or in any case in previous model that has come out of the factory with previous versions of emui, or a Chinese version of the device with harmony OS installed is required or finally to convert your device to a Chinese version, but for this procedure a downgrade to emui 11 or 10 is still required, which as mentioned before is impossible for the p50 series. Obviously huawei does not provide codes for unlocking the bootloader, so I am looking for an alternative way. As soon as a method for installation is found, it will be posted here. If you have medotes kindly post them
As far as I know P50 x started with EMUI 12. That's why you will not find a ROM to downgrade.
It seems that there is a custom ROM out for the pro but not for the pocket.
I just made another thread in this subforum to ask if someone can confirm that P50 harmony OS checks the phone model and refuses to run on the global version. Otherwise looking for HarmonyOS stock ROM and installation via TWRP could be an option.

The basic problem is that huawei does not allow unlocking the bootloader, not providing more codes since 2018. If you know alternative methods to unlock the bootloader, then install twrp and flash rom, you could write them here and I will be happy to try them
I state that I'm looking for solutions for native installation of gms, so 'gspace' or other emulation apps will not be good

How can I convert my p50 pocket eu to Chinese version? I tried several methods but with poor results
I think it's not possible for P50x.
It appears that in opposite to P40x they check now the smartphone model so that China ROM won't be available to install for an EU modell.

Yes, I knew. To convert the smartphone to Chinese version you need to downgrade to emui 10, which however you can not run on p50x as their factory os is emui 12.
That's why I opened this discussion to search or work on medotes for the native installer of gms on p50x eu.
Thank you for your reply.
