How to downgrade OnePlus 7T Pro to the first stock Oxygen OS ? - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hi,
After the first update I received on my OnePlus 7T Pro,
My phone performance became so much bad,
I kept updating my phone to the latest in the hope something would fix it, but it did not.
I'm not looking for any tips, fixes, or optimizations,
I just want my phone as the exact second I opened it,
I want a Full factory reset,
downgrading to the first stock Oxygen OS that came with the phone,
I need the official files and the method.
for the Global Edition
thanks.

From 5.1 Lollipop to 8.1 Oreo -> is this possible?

Hi there,
Probably a silly question, I have a SGP312 and it is on Lollipop since 3 years, do you think is there a way to upgrade to the latest Android 8.1?
If not 8.1, what would be the highest version I can go and how?
The Tablet is essentially a stock one, I never did anything on it, just applied the Sony updates they made available for this old model.
Thank you,
Alex

Hello!
It's quite possible to install even the latest 8.1, though it is still not that stable now.
If you want 99% bug-free experience, i would stick to android 7.1.2, like Resurrection Remix ROM till 8.1 gets to a polished state.
Check this guide for installing custom ROMs on device.
Thank you for the link!
I will give it a try very soon.

Hi buddies,
I have a Sony Xperia Tablet Z (Model: SGP321) with Lollipop v5.0.2.
I had rooted it since a couple of years, so no need to say, it couldn't be upgraded to any higher version of android.
Now I unrooted it and wanna upgrade its android.
My questions:
1. What's the highest Android version officially released for this model?
2. What's the best version you advise me to install on it?
Thanks for your kind & prompt reply.
Cheers,
Leon

Hello!
1. The latest official firmware is android 5.1.1 (v.10.7.A.0.222 or 10.7.A.0.228 depending on region, though internally they are identical).
You can update via xperia-companion software.
2. What's the best only you can say. If stock sony one works good for you, stick to it.
If you have knowledge how to install, and want to try something "custom", there are firmwares based on android 7.1.2 and 8.1 on this forum.
The media players on my Xperia sgp312 keep pausing, has it got something to do with the software, I am still on Android 5.1.1

Complete noob, getting a Le Max 2

Hey all,
I've just ordered a Le Max 2 from some mob in China. When it arrives in 2021 I hope to install a clean Oreo rom.
The problem is I'm new to all this jazz. I can follow a walkthrough successfully, and without killing the cat etc, but I don't know which walkthrough/guide to follow!
Is there a stock Oreo rom for the Le Max 2? Is 'stock' the right word here? I mean from Android/Google.
If not, is the Lineage rom ok?
I just want a clean phone, no crap installed, higher version of Android the better.
Also, I noticed a firmware page. Do I have to update my firmware first? Or after Rom installs?
thanks all

Hey. Welcome to the group.
There's no stock ROM for Oreo. We only have EUI 5.8/5.9 (Marshmallow). Lineage is okay, but as of now Oreo custom ROMs have bugs. One is low mic volume in calls, another is that you can't use Slow Motion Mode in modded GCam. In a new Oreo Custom ROM (Dirty Unicorn) it has GPS and Fingerprint bug, not sure about low mic volume but the Slow Motion Mode bug is still there (because of OSS HALs)
I suggest you flash Nougat if you want minimal bugs.
I think Marshmallow custom ROMs have no bugs at all (someone confirm) but the security patch is old.
You don't have to be on latest stock ROM, just flash the latest TWRP and start flashing ROMs.
Good luck!

Use google my friend flashing roms and learning about adb and fastboot is quite fun (well for me it is ). It's quite straight forward, you just need to have the proper software and drivers.
Lineage rom is good, it's updated quite frequently and most of the time has minimal bugs. go with nougat as my colleague suggested. Also i think it's ok to stay with just stock firmware Eui is quite nice i guys.
Just remember to backup everything and save it in a safe place before trying something for the first time If you are afraid of doing something and want a quick answer you can PM me, i will try to answer asap

What I can say from my personal experience. First, stock EUi is a crap. Also, abandoned, since LeEco company does not exist anymore. Second, 7.1 or 8.1? I would recommend Lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1). It's most stable for me. I found any other rom based on Lineage more buggy than stock Lineage 14.1 is stable too, but why to choose older Android?
Install procedure is pretty easy. You need to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, then flash rom + gapps, that's all.
BTW as you can see, there may be many opinions. But it's not risky to test various custom roms and choose the one that is the best for you. Don't hestitate to try many roms, it's not a pain at all. Actually, it's a fun.

Any Android 10 supported Rom?

Any Android 10 supported Rom for Umidigi One Pro?
Apparently there is, and at least two articles point to it. I already have TWRP and Eragon2.5 (based on Android 8.1) installed, but I found myself having to do a restore. I don't know whether I needed a later version of TWRP (I have 3.2.3), or if another one exists.
Here's your link for the allegedly supported Android 10: https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/tag/v204
You need system-quack-arm64-aonly-gapps.img.xz
I had to uncompress it to the img file because the version of TWRP I have doesn't recognise xz as a valid compressed file. When I installed it, it rebooted to a bootloop.
Yeah tried many. Using ArrowOS 9 at the moment. Working perfectly. No 10 worked for me as well. Just stuck at bootloop

Thanks.
I'm interested. Unfortunately, nowhere can I find user experience with the Umidigi One Pro and ArrowOS.
What does work or what doesn't work?
Battery life?
What patch level do the security fixes have?
Maybe you can answer a few questions

Arrow OS 9 Seems to have best battery life out of all. Security patches are of Jan 2020.
NFC does not work, cam is ****ty. Sometimes UI errors (in Arrow OS 10) but can fix by installing some other launcher and Gapps. After restart time and date goes incorrect unless you are connected to internet. and Gifs become glitchy.
As of now the best Rom i can tell for Umidigi One Pro is AncientOS-CIVILIZATION-v3.7. There is 3.8 out there but that does not work. No issues other than bad cam, nfc and time incorrect problem.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/amber-gsi/files/AncientOS-CIVILIZATION-v3.7/
Also with AncientOS-CIVILIZATION-v3.7 you can get latest security patches installed within rom.
I'm trying to get Android 10 on my One Pro, all the AOSP builds won't boot (stuck in Android boot screen). Am I using the wrong ones, I have been trying "a-only", "arm" variants ?
Thanks a lot.
I tried tons of different Android 10 ROMs on the Umidigi One Pro, the only one that worked so far is the v204 of @phhusson, but for some reason only 8GB of memory are accessible (out of 64). Did I do something wrong ?

From Hydrogen to Oxygen

Hi fellas.
I bought a second hand oneplus but it came with Hydrogen (it's the Chinese version). I have searched ways to flash a international rom (oxígen), but seems not doable. I downloaded the latest oxígen version and tried doing a manual update but it says that since my os version is higher, it cannot downgrade an older rom.
Do you know any workaround? Just want to get rid of all the Chinese bloatware and have a clean rom.

To change to oxygen from hydrogen make sure the oxygen build is newer than the hydrogen rom you are running. (The updater will not install an older build dates firmware) Ex don't update hydrogen rom then when the full update zip for ixgen is up on oxygen updater app. Download then put the zip in the root of sdcard storage. Navigate to settings update press the 3 dot menu button in the corner then select local update pick the zip you downloaded it will flash the oxygen rom if it fails the first time repeat the process in the settings updater app. If you want it on both slots after it installs and reboots repeat the process again
I have an hd1910 running oxygen os
The other option is to use the msm tool for international varient, but I did not change that way

POCO F1 pixel exp update from Android 9

Hi Team, I was living under a rock and have been on android 9 for last 2 years now wanted to upgrade to Android 11.
Is it possible to skip android 10?
I have update the TWRP to latest version any other things to mind, I would still wanna remain with pixel exp +
Thanks for the help.
Updated**
Hi, it depends on which device you have. As you know Android does not support updates very long for certain devices. So, first check if your device still can receive updates from Android and if not, see if you can update to Android 10, which is much better than 9. Kind regards kuzibri

I am using Poco F1. No official updates and I dont like miui. Please advise if I can flash android 11 on top of android 9? Same rom pixel exp
I think yes, you can flash directly the latest PE. See HERE and HERE. Clean flash, with formatting (not only wiping) several partitions is a must.
