Question [FIX] Prevent apps from killing themselves - Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

Hi
I went from a s20 5g with 12Go of ram and never had any problems at all with ram managment but with this brand new s22+, by default apps never stopped to kill themselves in a very agressive way.
I tried a bunch of diffrents methods to avoid this but none of them seemed to really work.
- disable of kind of power saving
- go in each apps settings > battery > and check "optimized" for de power plan
- change the power managment itself
Etc etc
And then, I did something that seems to finally work :
DISABLE RAM PLUS !!!
Try it out if you have the same issue

Agreed, "RAM Plus" should be renamed to "I/O Minus". Or Samsung should have just been honest and called it swap. And then they should have let Android do its thing with memory management instead of inventing features that try to hide how many resources their bloaatware consumes. With 12GB RAM the effects of RAM Plus were minimal. With 8G RAM the negative effects are more pronounced so even more important to disable ram plus on the S22s

Task killers?

Task killers is there any advantage on using them ? Currently I am using one that kills as I lock my phone although in theory these apps are just booting back up in the background (services that is) isn't that hogging resources in its own right ?
So my question is do you use a task killer ?
Cheers
The consensus is that they're not useful. Use the back button to quit apps, and a battery monitor to monitor apps that abuse power.
If you see apps taking up RAM, that's a good thing - RAM is supposed to be utilized so that the phone can launch apps faster.
Do not use task killers!
Our beloved gs2 has lotsa memory and android's memory management is very powerful. So don't worry about ram usage. When the device runs out of ram/after an app is no longer required to be kept in memory, inactive and finished apps are removed from memory automatically.
Most of the apps, after exit are kept in memory for a faster launch next time. Idle apps doesn't consume any cpu or battery.
If you're worried about your cpu usage and battery drain, use watchdog from market to monitor misbehaving apps.
Use betterbatterystats to monitor what apps/services are causing wakelocks.

Then you can adjust the settings/uninstall apps that's causing battery drain.

want more free ram??

here's an easy way to get more ram should work on all kernels. I'm using stock.
download system tuner
go to tweaks, then click on auto-kill, increase the empty application bar to 256, if you start getting to many error (I have gotten non) decrease it a little. This is not a regular auto kill...it kills the applications that are not being used AT ALL and will not drain your battery
hope this helps
please don't forget to press thanks

S3 multitasking need xpert help

Guys the only problem that I am facing with my s3 is multitasking due to which apps are force crashing so I thought of a fix without rooting please tell me I am just a noob would it work or not.......
Problem is apps like over screen and smart task bar force crashing due to lack of ram......
Fix is I have installed smart ram booster and in the auto boost option I have set ram threshold value below which the app boosts ram automatically to a threshold value higher than android default for example if android boosts at 60mb ram left I set the value at 90 mb.....
So if this app boosts ram when it falls below 90 the system treshold 60 here wouldn't have reached and this ram boost has option of apps to set as whitelis which it does not clear
So I set my apps which I need always to be open in background as whitelis ex smarttaskbar.....
And also it has a multitasking option that is it does not clear the last 5 used apps so in this way I will be able to do multitasking with 5 apps opened except the apps of the white list right?
I ain't no expert I am a noob and don't know anything about android so would someone please tell me if this works also is thee any harm of getting a ram booster like smart ram booster to boost ram periodically does it haarm the hardware too........
Also if I am thinking right what is the exact default when system boosts ram itself
Experts please reply

Bug Reports

There doesn't seem to be any bug report thread on English forum, only other languages so thought it would be a good idea to post this.
Here is some bugs I've noticed, mainly related to performance.
-When you open notifications and switch to toggles, the animation is not smooth first time.
-The transition effects except default seem laggy, especially windmill. Not like this on my other Honor phone with significantly less powerful cpu.
-When you scroll to end/top of page, such as in play store or phone settings, then tap on something right away, the tap is not registered. You must wait until 'end of scroll' animation completes. Not like this on other phones I've tried.
- In balanced power mode, opening some apps such as phone dialer or browser causes the brightness to drop. Kind of annoying. The power modes should only affect the cpu.
Storage space lost after update from b100 to b121 bug.
I updated my phone before using it and storage space dropped from around 9.8gb to 9.1gb.
Space seemed to have been taken up by apps according to the storage info, but no additional apps were installed. Must be a bug where after the update, the app optimization made the phone think previously installed apps were installed again.
A power mode should only affect the cpu? Why? Its job is to save power so doing it in other ways to just cpu throttling is perfectly logical.

That's how the power mode worked before in EMU, and the brightness transition is glitchy and unsightly. It also mentions nothing about brightness changes in description, just cpu adjustments.
Most people like to set their own brightness, having it lower when you open the browser/dialer is just annoying and pointless. You can easily change brightness yourself but not how the cpu scales.

Samsung Note 8: how to tone down killing apps

Hi, Note 8 OneUI
out of apps I use 2 are mildly more memory intensive (Azur Lane and GotoBrowser) using perhaps hundreds of MB. I installed Simple system monitor with the floating RAM chart. Switching between the apps, free available RAM wouldn't drop below 1GB and yet during usage these apps both get frequently killed. Often just after switching from the app to chrome, viewing one page and then back already has it killed.
The first app reportedly runs well on 2GB while I have 6, so it should be plenty.
It seems temporarily better after restarting the device where the memory is really abundant.
I think it got much worse after the update to One UI.
Is there any way to tweak this?
Adaptive battery: off
Put unused apps to sleep: after 3 days (the above is a matter of minutes)
Sleeping apps - if I read this correctly this option is the opposite of what I want - want them to be able to remain in the background
Memory - apps that aren't checked: adding didn't help
Dev options - background process limit: standard
Don't know of any other possibly related options.
Thank you

Set your background process limit in Dev options to the highest number available or unlimited. I don't know if Samsung still has this option, but also look in your battery settings and disable "optimization" for the apps you're having trouble with. Just for clarification, "Optimization" is not the same thing as adaptive battery which I saw you that you already disabled. If it's not in battery settings, check settings > apps > and check the details for those apps and look for power, or battery in the list.
Thank you!
Battery optimization was disabled for them
I disabled putting unused apps to sleep altogether just in case
Changed background process limit to 4, which doesn't seem that much, but it's the highest number available
Will see how it'll behave now
Also - found exact numbers for memory usage:
AL: 120-430MB
GB: 5-270MB
That doesn't seem that much
And forgot to mention - running in High performance mode, not sure if it's relevant or not
