Question What happens if you flash XQ-CT72 model with XQ-CT62 model firmware? Any change to the enabled bands? - Sony Xperia 1 IV

Is it possible to flash the 72 variant of Xperia 1 IV or Xperia 5 IV with the 62 variant firmware and get the missing bands enabled? I think the only band not enabled on 72 is LTE Band 71 and N71 - would flashing firmware enable it by chance?

Phones do not have an open architecture.
If the devices differ in the modem used or the associated driver, there is nothing you can do about it.

It has the same modem. No idea about the driver.
Is it possible at all for the firmware to enable the band, or no chance at all?

Changing firmware will not change or enable different network bands.

On A12 flashing ct62 on ct72 you will have connection problems. No data no calls I'm not sure about A13 but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the same.

[Q] Change HSDPA Band

Hi, I have got an Auszralian Version (Telstra) of the Galaxy Ace S5830t. This Version supports 850/2100mhz Hsdpa Bands.
However I've been wondering if it is possible to change the Bands using different Modem Firmwares to support 900mhz.
I have already tried the debugging Menu and reading through the existing Post points towards Problems when using undesignated firmwares.
I'm currently running a official android 2.3.5. My current believe points towards the Bands being hardcoded in the Modem and that I might have to buy a different phone
Any help would be awesome.

[Q] S3 I9305 change baseband to AWS 1700?

Is there is a way to flash change the modem for my S3 I9305 (international unlocked) so that it works with Wind mobile which uses the 1700 band?
Is there a custom ROM for this, or a modem rom I can flash to make this happen?
Hey Max,
what model do you have?
i9300-international
or the i9305 ?
Anyways both models doesn't and will not support the 1700 band as it's a hardware and not software.
sorry mate..

I thought the modems were just software controlled for the bands?
The modem can affect your signal, but only as long as your device has the required hardware.
I mean, you can't control the TV from your S3 as you don't have the IR like the S4 does

Modify CSC to enable LTE band 3 and 20

Issue: using 3 in the UK and they are running LTE Bands 3 and 20. I am looking at my wife's phone next to mine and she is camped on 3's Band 20. I am using an N900t and it won't allow me to enable those bands, even when forcing to either of them in the service mode. I'm running the OB6 firmware, CSC, and bootloader. The ROM is an Alliance TW 5.0 with TWRP as my recovery. I've also enabled CA as well as LTE Rev 10 to no avail.
I don't know much about how this OS works, but I am thinking that the baseband is reading the CSC and disabling the OCONUS LTE Bands, which is why they won't enable in the service mode. There is no other CSC for that firmware on sammobile, and I've read that flashing a mismatched CSC can cause incompatibility issues.
Thoughts?
I definitely posted this in the tmo note 3 form, not sure how it got here...

Can i convert a US version device to Europe?

Hello,
I was wondering if is possible to flash Europe's model Firmware on US model, and get the device work?
I want to do this because I am in Europe and I cannot connect to LTE networks because my oneplus X is US version. So I want to change the firmware to european version to be able to connect to band 3 - 1800Mhz networks that are not supported on US version.
If this is not possible, is there any solution to change the frequency and the band of the device?
Thank you
The firmware is the same. It's the hardware that change.
You can't do anything about that I'm afraid..

Sorry forgot to mention that it's the antenna :

Hello, thanks for your answer.
I saw this article : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-unlock-additional-lte-bands-t3519563
and that is why I was wondered if is possible to work on our onyx device.
I knew it was possible on some Xiaomi devices too, but I didn't know some OP could do it too...

Don't do it. You will brick device.
You can't flash U or U1 phones to B models it will brick your phone.
To enable carrier aggregation, check this thread
