Question Widevine L3 Sony Xperia 1 IV - Sony Xperia 1 IV

hello so here I have unlocked my Sony to put the Root and I would like to know if it is possible to put the widevine L1 back thanks to the Root? Thank you in advance for your answers.

As soon as you unlock the bootloader you lose L1. It's not coming back. There's no fixes.

Dès que vous déverrouillez le chargeur de démarrage, vous perdez L1. Ça ne revient pas. Il n'y a pas de correctifs.

Yes some phones can still be L1 with unlocked bootloader and root. OnePlus is one of those phones. Xperia devices have not had L1 with unlocked bootloader since 2019.

I have rooted all my Xperia phones since 2012 and have never had L1.

Widevine L1 is totally gonne because you unlock your bootloader and the DRM keys get wiped, the only fix is to relock the bootloader, fix your xperia with xperia companion and the drm keys are back but with root.. there is no way to get L1 widevine and every phone/brand is different so comparing is useless.

thinking of up grading

Hi I'm thinking of upgrading 2011 to 2012 range but how far off are developers from unlocking the boot loader without losing DRM keys. Thanks
Official unlock

I'm not 100% but i'm sure the official bootloader unlock from Sony doesn't affect DRM keys! Almost all 2012 models are included.

WT19a Locked Bootloader.

Hello, I am the owner of a SE LwW I had used it for a while running on some locked bootloader roms, a few years had passed now and I wonder if there's a method to unlock bootloader on new security devices (Above 12w13 I think) and of course my device says "Rooting status allowed: No".

So your phone cant Root with current rom
Upgrade to latest version of ROM by Sony Companion..
Then recheck Rooting status
I've been searching lately for a bootloader unlocking service for SE LWW, found a few places which offers unlocking, but none of them are capable of unlocking phones manufactured after 12W11.

[Q] Doubt about SOL24

Greetings, XDA members.
I have a Sony Xperia Z Ultra SOL24 model (japanese model of japanese AU KDDI). I was thinking to install a custom ROM (Cyanogenmod), but the bootloader is locked and it is impossible unlock it.
If I change the stock ROM to another stock ROM of other Z Ultra model, can I then unlock the bootloader? If yes, what is it the best stock ROM?
Thank you.

If it's impossible (bootloader unlock allowed: No), the only thing you can do is send it to Sony.
But I am not sure if you can install roms from c68xx models. Might results a brick.

As my SOL24 shows "Bootloader unlock allowed: No", then I will not install any ROMs.
Thank you for the help.

Widevine L1

Does V30 always have Widevine L1 even if it's rooted with a custom recovery, unlocked bootloader and custom ROM/kernel installed? I know some newer devices are automatically L3 once you unlock them.
I have root, unlocked bootloader and TWRP and it still has Widevine L1.
