Question Call and Data performance Issue - Sony Xperia 5 IV

Hi,
I don't know if it's really since I've update the phone to Android 13 or not (when it's released).
But since 3 weeks, I've very poor performance during call (call shut off, bad reception, words missing, echo) and a very bad connectivity when I'm on cellular data.
For exemple, at the exact same location (my desktop), sometime I've 250Mb/s in DL and 30/40Mb/s in UP, and just after (in a minute), only 10Mb in Dl and 180KB/s in UP.
I've tested in differents configuration, 5G, 4G, HSPA, other places in my house or city, holding phone in my hand or not. Sometimes I've better performance, but sometimes also, without moving, after a very good speed test I've only 1Mb/s in DL and 10Kb/s in UP... When the connection is Low, the DL speed is enought to view a YT video, but the time to start the video is incredible because the UP speed (for the requests) is very very low...
Did you think it's possible that the update reduce performance due to a bug or something ? Anyone else have this problem ? (Apparently no...)
Thank you

You can reset network settings or change/add APN ... But did you try same sim card in another phone ,or did you try to use another sim in that phone ? This way you will know if it is a phone problem or network problem.

I've tried the network reset and in France, Orange as only one APN... I can't test with my sim in my Old XZ1 because I've switched to eSim...
I've check with another sim, the antenna of this operator is really close to me (200m instead of 800m of orange one) but the result is the same, only few Mbps or Kbps...
Also, I've used my phone for sharing Internet to my PC when I buy it in November without issues and now, approximately after the android 13 update, I've this issue...
I don't if it's possible that the antenna has damage after time (without physical damage I mean). The phone hasn't fall down yet.

I have the same issue, my Xperia 5 IV phone has just back from the service. They made some software reset but it didn't help. I'm sending it again tomorrow. I think it is related to Android 13, tested with different sim cards, different settings, APN etc. Nothing helps.

Hey, have you received the new update (64.1.A.0.860) ? Have you test it ? I've the update but no more datas atm I need to wait until 5th ^^

Hi ! I haven't tried the latest update, service downgraded system to Android 12 and my phone works well now. I will wait a bit before I decide to update my operating system to Android 13. But it is a shame that Sony doesn't publish changelog, I don't know what they did...
It will be nice if you share your experience with the latest update when you get it If you manage to call and talk without problems - the sun will shine again

Hey, I've got my refresh for mobile today. So the phone call works well now, no more problem. In my house i still have love upload in 4G/5G but outside it's good now and no more fall down to some Kbps.
I still have touble with laucnhed app menu, sometimes it only show the last and no button. I think your good to keep 12, the 13 dosn't come with must have features for me !!

Edit: After some days, problem came back again, random performance, sometimes some Mbpsin UP sometime few Kbps, at the same place...

O sh...t Hmm, I also tried network settings reset, then configured APN by hand. You can try it, it is just network, you don't lose your data like during full factory reset. I understand that issue is with data, and you can still talk without issues ?
Here is the status from Sony:

[Q] Sony Tablet worst Experience :: Got replaced piece, but same again :-(

I own Sony Tablet S since last 90 days but has a lot of problems, it has been at the service station due to its issues for more than 45 days.
The features/functions included are really nice, but the company doesn't care for the customers.
I called and mailed the Customer Care for more than 20 times, but didn't got a revert even once.
I somehow got a replacement, but the same issues were there in that one too.
If not wrong, I got the promises from the Customer Care around 20 times to revert back, but just got 1 revert back.
The major issues I am facing are
1. Wi-Fi disconnects regularly
2. Wi-Fi doesn't have proper range which you can even see in the youtube link as follows:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FRb855gBMo
3. The device hangs a lot when loaded, stops responding for a long time and the only solution remains is to Restart/Shutdown
4. The screen doesn't get unlocked many a times even upto 30 seconds after pressing the unlock button.
5. GPS connectivity issue: Connection to GPS only remains if you stay at a place, not if you move anywhere from a particular place.
BUT THE WORST problem I am facing is the WORST COMPANY SERVICE.
The stupids don't just know any status of the problems most of the times.
They promise to call/revert back, but I didn't get any reverts of my e-mails from the 13th of April 2012. I can't understand why is this happening to me ???
Any1 facing any of these issues ???
Please provide me reverts unlike SONY
I have the same problems 3 & 4 as you. And most probably caused by the WiFi connection.
I have sent in my Tablet for repair cause after a month of usage - the battery cannot be charged.
Hopefully the ICS update will solve these few problems.
I'm from Singapore and Sony after-sales service sucks all around the world except USA, Japan & maybe UK. That's where all their customers are at. =)
Sorry to hear you're having problems.
If you've had the same wifi issues with 2 tablets then it's unlikely to be a hardware problem and more likely to be a compatibility or settings issue between your router & tablet.
I'd try connecting to another router or network or if this is not possible look at temporarily removing security and possibly changing channel settings on your router. There are other threads here which discuss some wifi issues. Make sure your router has the latest firmware installed and do make sure you've updated to the latest version of Android for your region as this has been known to help
Wifi will disconnect when the tablet goes to sleep but should connect again within 10 secs or so of waking up Unless you download an extra app which forces constant connection.
With respect to the laggyness and crashing what apps do you have installed? I'd be tempted to point the finger there first before blaming the tablet, might be worth going through them and seeing if you can narrow it down to a dodgy app or one that doesn't like the Sony much. Certainly like above get the latest android.
I hope the issues get sorted swiftly for you.

Wifi is a known unsolved issue the rest is not really nmormal, but why don't you try to contact sony vaio service wich contains tablet s also
Agreed with James. If two tablets have WiFi problems, it's almost guaranteed that is a problem with your network environment, not with the Tablet. I have never had a problem with the WiFi and it always reconnects easily.
Also +1 for the app suspicions. Most of those issues sounds like they could be coming from an app (particularly 3 and 4), so try factory resetting your device then installing apps slowly one-at-a-time, waiting about 24 hours between installs to see if any apps cause this behaviour to return.
As for replies from customer service, I can't help you there since Sony replied to my only support Q within three days of my message. Make sure you have the right address, and then try Vaio Service.

Thanks for reply dude, but you'll really be amazed to know that
My router doesn't have any issue, it has been upgraded to the latest firmware.
To add I connect the same router with 2 Nokia E6-00, Nokia N8-00, Nokia E63, 2 Sony Vaio Laptops, 2 PC with a linksys usb modem, Samsung Galaxy S, Nokia E71, Lenovo Laptop, Samsung Galaxy Note, Sony Walkman Live, a lot Iphones of my customers get connected to it, a lot ipads get connected to it and none of them have problems, why this is the only 1 ???
About softwares, again a shock this is a problem when my Tablet was just opened from the box even, it is still there and I guess will remain forever, and if you guys don't know, just check the youtube link I provided, it explains a lot.
Anyways thanks for the help
And even I use 4 Sony Vaio Laptops and always suggest Sony to my friends and relatives, but this time I faced the worst cause they promised me to revert back almost 20 times, but I got a revert only once. What the f**k
Guys please reply if any of you are facing the same problem or not ???

Redmi Note 3 Pro call quality issues with one mobile network operator. Wierd signs...

Hello everyone,
Let me begin with saying that i've already contacted MIUI support as well as i've searched other MIUI forums for the solution of my problem, wich is really strange to be honest.
I own an original Redmi Note 3 Pro (previously i owned a Redmi Note 3G). I use the largest mobile network operator in my country and he gives all his customers the ability to use other mobile network operators range/connection in roaming for free whenever we like. It doesn't support 4G from different vendors, so it's 3G max. This is important factor later in the story.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The phone was originally shipped with MIUI China Stable ROM wich run fine but as you know it had a lot of crap in it including adds and a lot of wierd chinese apps. But it DIDNT'T cause my any trouble with phonecalls quality.
I used MIflash & download mode to flash the latest MIUI Global Stable ROM, wich in the beginning didnt cause me any problems with phonecall quality.
HOWEVER. After 1 week of using the phone, one of the updates for Global Stable came out. Phone was updated without any problems and it run fine, but i noticed that whenever im talking with someone the quality of the phonecall was lower then ussually.
Then another update came out and it was EVEN WORSE. I thought it's the issue with the ROM itself so i patiently waited to get my permissions for unlocking the device.
I finally got it so i flashed my phone with MIUI China DEV ROM, installed TWRP and installed the latest MIUI available for my country (wich i previously used for over 2 years or RN 3G) wich also includes fixes and optimizations. HOWEVER the problem still occured.
I then started to blame my SIM Card, so i got a new one yesterday, i also did a factory reset just to be sure, DIDN'T HELP.
So to SUM UP:
Issues: Call quality is low in random calls
How does it show: Caller speaks like with a robotic voice, interference, sometimes i don't hear the caller for 2-3 seconds.
ROM STORY:
1. I purchase RN3 Pro. It comes with original china stable ROM. Phonecalls work fine.
2. I install global stable. Phonecalls are fine.
3. I install two updates to global stable - the quality of phonecalls goes down.
4. I unlock bootloader and install custom ROM along with TWRP, same issues.
5. I reflash whole ROM, clean installation, same issues.
6. Yesterday : I get new SIM card, i factory reset my system and get new updates: SAME ISSUES.
Wierd factors:
- sometimes when the problems occurs while on call, i can resolve the issue with just waking up the screen for a couple of seconds..
- problem seems to happen less when WIFI/Data usage are off
- problem seems to happen less when using headphones (Piston V3)
- problem DOESN'T happen AT ALL when i switch to other mobile operator network in roaming! It's only happening in my main mobile operator network! I would use other networks instead of mine but LTE/4G isn't allowed yet while on roaming :/
- this issue happens on both SIM CARD slots, on different SIM CARDS
I tried to reflash China Stable, however it seems that there were too many updates and one of them is causing the problem now on every ROM. There's a few topics on MIUI Official forums about that, there are bug reports about that but i doubt MIUI Devs will notice this.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Link to my MIUI topic: http://en.miui.com/thread-267736-1-1.html

Kind regards,
Beliares
hey what happened to your device?
I think my redmi note 3 pro has the same issue, call quality seems to go down where I would lose what the other person is saying for a second or two like the earphone is malfunctioning.
but the speaker works fine and signal is not an issue either
were you able to fix your issue?
I have the same problem with my phone since I remember. I got my phone around 3 weeks ago and flashed the latest Stable and Developer ROMs but the problem still exists. Like mentioned above by my friend, the quality is fine when I change to other operators in 2G, but in 3G and LTE its totally mess. I wish someone recognize this problem and fix this.

so sorry to hear that you have this issue as well
this is just unbelievable.... how can they just ignore such an issue? It's becoming a nuisance to sometimes impossible to use the phone to make or receive calls as I can barely make out what the other person is saying
Is there anyway we can complain about such issues?
Guys I found a workaround for this problem. Although it doesn't solve it completely. By this solution I succeeded making calls with much less noise and problem.
You have to turn the proximity sensor off for calls. It somehow solves the problem for now and make the calls much more understandable. Hope it helps you and get solved completely.
Me also facing same call quality issues

Same here no issues on China stable. Worse on global stable.. try typing *#*#995995#*#* wait 2sec and type *#*#995995#*#*(the same thing)again.. also go to settings installed apps find qti.supersaver open it and force stop these are like temp solution . If this helped please hit the thnx button
Thx for your sharing information but that didn't work dude. The problem still persists.
Guys I got a solution for myself. The problem actually WAS with the signal as I thought contrary. Yes, the 2G network works well because it has more strength with less range so its obviously works better than 3G. Hence, I started searching for a solution to improve the signal I get in my phone. The best thing I found was an app named "Network Signal Speed Booster" which boosts the signal you receive. Whenever I called a phone number after running this app, the call quality was PERFECT. This app actually connects you to the nearest antenna so the result is a better connection to the network provider. Please do this solution yourself and see if it works and notice the others. thx.
Thanks
Behrouz Your solution may work very well for me
I had the same problem
Thanks
My friend has issues with a Redmi Note 3 PRO speaker. He doesn't hear a conversation clearly. The person who he is talking with hears him perfect. Will "Network Signal Speed Booster" app help in this case? Some people says it's a fake program. Any new solutions?
Confirmed, Network Signal Speed Booster helps but temporary. I`ve noticed that it doesn`t matter of the network type,(4g,3g,2g), it happens only while the wifi is on.

Anyone notice that the xa ultra has some wifi connection issues? For example I'm connected fine and everything and I leave my house and come back.. then it doesn't seem to pick up my home's wifi. I have to restart the phone then it comes back. Anyone else notice this?

Never had that problem.

Every. Single. Day. I leave my house and the wifi won't reconnect at school, or home. I restart my phone and it connects just fine. When I'm at school it won't connect until I restart, and then it connects there fine as well. It would be interesting to see what variables between locations has cause/effect on the connection. I'll do some analysis when I have time, see if there is a time variable associated, like if it happens right away or takes time for the problem to occur. I have a feeling it's related to the cheap parts that Sony used, not sure what wifi chip is installed.
yeah I haven't had this issue yet either. Have an apple airport router. I have only had the phone a week but no problems.
OK it just now happened, (wifi won't connect) and I realized it was just connected when I was inside a building at school without cell reception. I put the phone into airplane mode, then turned on wifi, and sure enough the wifi connected. I'm thinking interference or lack of power is preventing wifi when a medium strength LTE signal is connected. I'll keep testing scenarios that fit this theory.
Just a quick update. It seems putting the phone in airplane mode, then manually turning on wifi only, the wifi connects immediately. Turn airplane mode off, wifi stays connected. No need to restart. Wifi drops on me several times a day and this is my fix. This fix did not work 1 time out of the past 20, and I had to restart.
Mine has been doing the same thing.... ugh Sony can't get their crap right no matter what they do. Dear God.
Anyone else having issues with auto brightness not working properly as well?

No problem here on the normal xa mine is a F3111 LTE model WiFi works and connects great on all Firmwares. Have you tried the software repair option via Xperia companion? If it's still the same after this, you need to take a log using the built in logging application and send the logs via Sony support forum it gives you instructions on how to do it in settings think one of the guys names is Richard, about phone, diagnostics, advanced logging they've actually been pretty good regarding any bugs and fix them once they have some logs to work from.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Unfortunately, the repair option didn't solve the issue. After Googling it, it appears many users with the 3213 model are having the same issues. Ugh.
I did not know about the "diagnostics" feature. I enabled it and then it auto uploaded and then turned off. So does support email you or Richard gentleman contact me via the phone somehow to give feedback?
Thanks!

As far as I know it's all done through a pm(message) through the Sony support forum. Then they pass it on to the software peep's and then wait for the fix it may take more than one person to provide the logs before they sanction the update unless they find a bigger problem.

Here's a funny thing, as long as I am not connected to Bluetooth, WiFi works flawlessly, weird.....
I'm just going to assume we have no fix for this yet? the whole resetting my phone is getting really tiring. blah I wish Sony would fix this or at least acknowledge it
I have the same problem with my XA. I've only had the phone a few days and I'm always having to switch it off and back on. SOOOOO annoying. The guy that sold it me said I could just return it. I'm not buying Sony ever again!!!!!
Been having to use my 4g at home alot of the time, which is eating up my data something rotten. It shows the WiFi is on and has full signal, but it's often so slow or even worse dead! I've honestly had 2g on a crap old phone work faster than WiFi at times. I have just "forgotten" all saved WiFi networks and signed into my home WiFi from scratch and put the password in again. Seems to have done the trick, but I'm not holding my breath that it's gonna last.
I'm curious, it might be insignificant, but just wondering what WiFi service providers all of us with problems have? I have BT infinity. For a while I thought that maybe it was just BT being rubbish. But my partner has a Samsung galaxy s8+ and she doesn't seem to have any issues. I've used the WiFi on my linx tablet, no issues. The Xbox one doesn't really lag either.
So it's either that this phone does not like BT or its just my phone being pants!!! Doing my head in, I have to keep getting my partner to send me extra data.
It's seriously getting on my nerves now

This is my first Sony Android phone, and I'm not touching one ever again.. What's worse for me is that mine is still on Sept 2016 update and my carrier locked the bootloader so I couldn't update it myself, as my network don't even care if I have the latest security updates or not

Issue #1: wifi (& BT?) not working anymore.

Moto Z has never had a "fantastic" wifi connectivity (with some issues with dhcp too, see my thread about it...), but anyway it worked... since some weeks ago!
Then, without any change in sw (I'm still on MM, rooted and with Xposed), it begins to be unable to connect to quite any 2.4 GHz wifi available (5 GHz connectivity seems to be unaffected) :crying:
It finds networks, then, if I ask to connect them (even on open and not encrypted and not mac filtered wifi networks) it will try to connect for a second, then it returns to "saved" state. After some trying it goes in "error connecting network" status.
Obviously ALL my other android devices connect fine in same conditions and even my Moto Z connected fine before the issue came out.
Only in isolated places with a SINGLE wifi SOMETIMES is able to connect... but I am talking of distances of 2-3 meters from router, not more....
I've already tried to "forget" all networks, to restore wifi defaults, to clear cache & dalvik and tried some "wifi repairing apps" too, with no results. On Lenovo forum I saw some had the same issue and even a factory reset didn'the solve for them.
I think even BT is having same issue, but I'm not sure... (I don't use it a lot....).
Any idea? Others with same issue?
@erfanoabdi no idea about this?
I also Have the same problem. and my request to Lenovo please solve this issue as soon as possible.

I begin to think that it's a hardware issue, since even bluetooth seems to be affected as well.
Weird is that networks are anyway detected and with regular dB levels too...
One user on Lenovo forum reported that this began for him when he had the memory of the phone full over 90% and for me it has about been the same bit I think this could be only a coincidence...

Hi, i had this problem too and I think its definitely a hardware issue. I think Lenovo just has some quality assurance issues in the production and you and i just had the luck of getting a defective unit.
I'm really happy that i still had warranty when that happened. The main board on mine was switched, so i guess its not even an wifi/bluetooth antenna issue.

But what channel are you on? From what I've gathered it's only retapac right now.
No more having this?
Mine (just before been destroyed by assistance center trying to change battery... ) had begun to not be able to connect (if not sometimes...) on 5 GHz networks too... it definitely seems an hardware issue...
i have the same problem, no wifi and bluetooth. Anybody tried flashing modem?
Losing connection happens mostly when connected to 5GHz, can't find a way to force connection to 2.4GHz.

My short story with Redmi Note 9S - Don't buy it by now.

I need to tell you my short story with the Redmi Note 9S.
I bought the phone at the beginning of may, my first Xiaomi with MIUI (my former phone is also a Xiaomi, but a Mi A1 with Android One) The first two weeks was working OK. I even red some reports about wifi and screen shadows bugs, but my phone didn't show these issues. I was very satisfied with the camera, the speed, and the amazing battery life.
However, around 20th of May it started with wifi disconnections with the screen off, almost every time that screen went off, the connection stopped. I assumed this bug was normal in a recently released device, and that it was going to be solved on the next software update.
Also, one of my smartphone main use is listening to music, through Bluetooth because I have the excellent Sony 1000XM3 headphones. Sadly, I discovered that my headphones, that sounded so good paired with my former Mi A1, sounded very very low with my brand new Redmi Note 9S. At full volume at the phone it sounded low with lack of punch and liveliness. Also, I was surprised that my dad's Redmi Note 8 showed the same behavior when I connected my headphones. So, I suspect from MIUI implementation.
The end of May came and so the first software update to my RN9S. I upgraded quickly thinking that the wifi bug was fixed, and the first days that was my impression. However, around the 8th of June it started again with the random disconnections -less than before, I need to say-.
Also, the Bluetooth bug wasn't fixed, even having informed Xiaomi about it, on official forums and through the feedback app. They requested me to send a logcat, with no further response.
Last weekend I installed the latest update, 11.0.9.0 QJWMIXM, hoping that, after two updates, the bugs was finally fixed. But no, there is no fix at all. Also, on official forums team members are saying that this update will be the last until MIUI 12, probably out in July.
Due to COVID pandemic, I'm working from home, using Whatsapp Desktop to communicate with my workmates. As you may know, WD need to have the phone permanently connected. But with this annoying bug, WD doesn't work, and I received the messages late.
So, frustrated with bad Xiaomi support, and problems with brand new device, I ended selling it, and now I'm going to buy a new, non Xiaomi phone. Luckily I still have my old Mi A1 as a backup, no MIUI of course.
I DON'T RECOMMEND TO BUY THIS DEVICE NOW, UNTIL ALL BUGS WILL BE FIXED.
Hope my short story serves as a warning to buyers, and a wake up call to Xiaomi. Care about your phones and your customers.
my experience, dont touch a Xiaomi phone unless its been out in the market for atleast 6 months.

A very good point. I also feel that I bought this phone too early, and we are all sat here wondering if the major bugs on our phones are going to be fixed. I won't be too hasty next time, I'll probably purchase something else too.
I am very happy with my purchase.
Consider installing a custom rom. I have not noticed any bugs + much more useful than MIUI: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-9-pro/development/rom-evolution-x-ganja-curtana-t4094495

That's what my plan is, I love the phone but very disappointed with stock support. What amazes me is that the custom Rom devs can produce a custom build without the bugs, yet Xaiomi don't see these major bugs as a priority.
I really want to flash Evo X, but I want to make sure I do it right. At the moment I am reading about bootloops with some people that have tried it.
Sorry if this is off topic here but what were your exact steps flashing the Evo x ROM. Just bullet points will be fine.
I'm rooted with Magisk. I just need to be rid of these bugs once and for all.
First of all a disclaimer, the source code for TWRP for Note 9S has not been published. It may contain some malware or anything else. I am not responsible for any damage. I just tell what I did and it worked for me. Might not work for you.
PC is required to do the following:
" unlock bootloader
* update to MIUI v11.0.7, I got a fixable bootloop on other version (search MI forums or similar for the files. Update from system menu did not work for me)
* turn off phone
* enter fastboot with volume down + power
* install TWRP (search MI forums)
* copy Evolution X install file to SD card
* follow the instructions in Evolution X thread
The problem is that Miui Global is a terrible operating system, really horrible. Don't expect improvements with Miui_12.
Or wait for roms based on Pure Android (AOSP / LOS) or if you want to keep Miui raisins for rom Xiaomi.eu

Have you even read what he wrote?
I have had my Redmi Note 9S since mid-May. No issues like that all for me thus far.
No problem like the one you describe.
The sound is great. If it was low for you (as it was for me when i first connected my earphones) you must use both the phone and earphones volume slider to increase the sound.

I could not finished up the epistle you wrote describing the issues you have experienced, but i'll say in my opinion that you are still new to MIUI, being an old miui user, there a settings that make the phone disconnects network connectivity either WiFi or Mobile data in other to save battery, Check settings- battery performance - and play around the options there. Cheers
Well yeah, but the wifi bug definitely EXISTS.
Read through the different boards and you will see how many users noticed the same behavior on their devices.
That's NOT a wrong setting that you simply can switch in the energy save settings of the phone.
And Xiaomi knows about this bug and they tried to give a fix in the latest firmware update, but for many it's more a "dirty workaround", cause wifi is still disconnecting after few minutes in idle, but reconnects after a few seconds in most cases. Its a dirty workaround, cause the constantly reconnecting all few minutes is draining battery unnecessarily and doesn't always work.
(Would be nice not to quote such a long post...its a bit annoying to scroll all the time to come to the new post itself ?)

Source your quotes. Where are you seeing that this is a common thing. This is the first I've read of it on 2 forums. I was also going to suggest the wifi to mobile handover setting as that has plagued me in the past because of my bad wifi.
Lol...are you kidding me?!?
You don't have to go far...a closer look HERE on XDA and you'll find the first thread with over 200 posts so far...!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...omi-redmi-note-9s-wifi-stops-leaving-t4085213
And by the way, even Xiaomi themselves have posted that the update to MIUI 12 will "Adress the wifi issue"...
My short story with the 9S:
I did order the 9S 4/64GB with Gshopper on aliexpress, shipped from the Czech Rep.
It was really shipped from Germany (JKGC in Buchholz).
Now the trouble started:
- MIUI 11.0.7 Inserted SIM - data works, outgoing calls all go to "Emergency Number"
- unlocked BL and installed TWRP and crDroid - still data works, but all calls go directly to 112/911...
- flashed with MIUI the fastboot MIUI 11.0.9 - still the same...
- unlocked BL again and flashed TWRP and MIUI 1.0.3 EEC - still no call other than "Emergency Number"...
- Flashed Evo X - still no call other than "Emergency Number".
In Settings/Apps and../Phone the check box is ticked, so unfortunately this was not the problem.
Gshopper denies Warranty, only agrees to refund if I pay for return shipping and says I can buy a "new" 9S. Even that they sold a faulty product shipped from the EU(CZ) to EU(IRL)...
EDIT: found a partial fix, see here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83114093&postcount=2
I just got this phone and am pleased with the hardware and performance coming from a Zenfone Max Pro M1 but it does seem a bit buggy (random app freezes a couple times, and some games like Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 refuse to start). Hopefully these get patched quickly but I will probably use a custom ROM once updates cease.
Is the WiFi bug a problem in every phone or just some of them?
If it's just say 10% of phones then I don't mind taking my chances.
If it's every phone then it's not worth it.
Sent from my BKL-L09 using Tapatalk
Well, I guess you can have the problem with every device of this model.
It more depends on the combination of the device and the router you are using.
Most of the users facing problems are using a fritzbox router as far as I know.
I'm using a router from vodafone for example, and have no bigger problems with wifi on my phone.

I use a "Vodafone" router too, a Huawei HG556a and openWRT. No problems to use the hotspot and "relay" the Inet to my home network.
In my case I had to downgrade to 11.0.7 first and then install crDroid. After that WiFi and hotspot worked, which it didn't with 11.0.9 as base. I tried LOS from telegram and that worked well from 11.0.9 as base.
