Thanks Gerwin, literally just got my device in hand, so added your details and my own to the second post.

Hello, I just received it. I thought that Samsung was running before or equal to Google's pace, so how is Samsung support, can anyone inform me, it's my first samsumg, thanks

The month of a new flagship always throws things off a bit but dont worry I am sure we will get a February security update any day.
Also waiting for it on my S21 Ultra as well.
Think some devices have started to get this months update, so only a matter of time.

Mate, don't panic. Samsung always delivers us monthly patches, sometimes way early(fg Dec patch in November) in other months you might get it somewhere in the middle of the month. I would not loose my mind because of that, there are various reasons why some patches are "late", but at the end no-one can compare with Samsung regarding udpates speed

[Q] Dutch CSC files for Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 3G+Wifi needed.

Does anyone can extract the csc files that is active on his/hers tab with stock rom for The Netherlands which is not modified?
ROM: Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 3G+Wifi Honeycomb 3.1/3.2
File and folder overview:
<CSC>
- system
-- CSCFiles.txt
-- CSCVersion.txt
-- csc
----contents.db
----customer.xml
----others.xml
----sales_code.dat
-- etc
----enforcecopyinglibpackages.txt
Reason: cause I don't have a Dutch/The Netherlands CSC folder on my tab, since I early flashed it to Honeycomb 3.2.
So I don't have the CSC codes active below:
BEN
MMO
ONL
QIC
TFT
TNL
VDF
VDP
XEN
KPN
PHN
Thanks in advance!
I'd like to help you (Belgian GXT 10.1 3G + Wifi)
I just rooted him, but didn't flash another ROM.
So if you can explain how can extract it, I'll do it for you
with other words I can't find the CSC map like you ask.
Thanks for your responce!
The most easiest way is using the app Root Explorer (or other file-explorer app with root capabilities).
* Browse to the folder /system/csc
* copy the folder /system/csc to your "sd-card" --> /sdcard (the folder contains mostly 3-letter folders)
* Exit root app and plug your Tab to your pc.
* Copy it your pc and zip .
here you go
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LO8L5AVC
I hope i could help you with this
Thanks for your fast actions! I will look into it asap.
I looked in to it. You have, 2 bad, only 1 csc and that is your Belgium one. I don't know why though.
Thanks again!
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Anyone that can give the firmware and csc code that is used in the Netherlands? No files, just a code.
Verstuurd van mijn GT-P7500 met Tapatalk
Can you tell me the Dutch csc code?!?! Cause Megaupload is dead....
I'm not sure what Samsung did use for a CSC code for The Netherlands. They are looking in to that for me (the said on Facebook).
Official it is one of these:
BEN = NETHERLANDS
MMO = NETHERLANDS
ONL = NETHERLANDS
QIC = NETHERLANDS
TFT = NETHERLANDS
TNL = NETHERLANDS
VDF = NETHERLANDS
VDP = NETHERLANDS
XEN = NETHERLANDS
KPN = NETHERLANDS
Source: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=1&t=1
I personally don't have any of the above on my Dutch tablet .
Maybe I can help you, but I'm quite new to android. I own a P7510 Wifi only SGT bought in the Netherlands.
I can still access the original stock rom, if I nandroid back to stock.
But before I do I like to know what are these csc files and are those of my P7510 similar on the P7500?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
I checked the firmware code of the P7510 in a shop, but that wasn't the same.
Perhaps the CSC code is. CSC stands for Country Sales Code. You can see it by installing the app "SGS CSC Selector" or "Samsung Galaxy S / S2 CSC". The selected CSC code is then shown. DONT change it, as it will wipe your tablet to factory defaults.
Edit:
App "Samsung Galaxy S / S2 CSC" works for sure. You can safely click the first button.
It is also possible to open the folder /system/csc/customer.xml.
Line 5 and 6 describes the selected Sales code.
I finally restored my official ROM (Honeycomb 3.2) with correct CSC code. Still can't use Kies upgrades, but hey...that's whats Odin for. This is how.
Go to:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P7500&r=1#regiona
Download:
P7500XWKL1 ## 2011 December P7500XEUKL1 Europe
--------
(Or use client from http://fus.nanzen.se/ and select
- Firmware: Android - GT-P7500 - Europe
It shows now:
- Product code: GT-P7500UWDXEU
- PDA: P7500XWKHD
- CDC: P7500XEUKH3
- Phone: P7500XWKG1
Check your firmware and download.
But it is the exact same firmware as from the other website and that one is easier to flash (I guess) through Odin.
--------
* When you have downloaded the Zip-file, extract it.
* Please clear and wipe data and cache and do factory defaults.
* Boot your Tab in Odin mode.
* In odin select your downloaded firmware in Boatloader, PDA and CSC (leave Phone) blank. And click start.
* After a while it reboots (if it bootloops, then clear data and cache partitions again).
When you start your tab you'll have the official ROM version for The Netherlands active. And in my case, the Dutch CSC code PHN. Finally!

Thanks I have saved this for later for whenever I want to return to stock.
I downloaded a zip for my P7510 from SamMobile, but it contains only one file.
Did you mean I need to put that same file in Bootloader PDA and CSC?
Unfortunatly they put a password on the zip... (I will figure out later how to solve this, or do you know...)

About the 1 file: that's correct. I filled in same files in both PDA and CSC. It did not fail. But not sure that it does anything. At least PDA needs to be filled, that's for sure.
About the password: samfirmware.com OR sammobile.com
If you have troubles, better sign up on there forum and search for possible solutions. Couldnt find anything with p7510 and password atm, so should be fine I guess.

My Ace II dead after stock upgrade
I can't startup again my Ace II when I updated to latest stock firmware downloaded from Samfirmware.com, it is from BTU region: I8160XXLK5_I8160BTULK5_BTU.zip.
What do you think I could do? It doesn't start nor pressing ON/OFF nor any other normal boot procedures. I removed battery, wait some minutes, nothing happens
Any suggestion?

So since I found this thread I'm going to ask here, is there any difference in the regions of all these firmwares? I mean...a difference between the German firmware and the Russia firmwares are what? The language? The carrier the firmware can support? and Lastly, what if I (who lives in Greece) install a The last German or Russian or whichever firmware?

I don't know exactly but I have galaxy ace installed European firmware and was in bootloop but flashing a custom rom on that European build worked.
Then I can see European baseband amd firmware version in About Phone.
/system is identical on all ROMs within the same build (LK6, LL2, etc.)
the difference is in CSC file which contains some additional apps and country specific settings but those are not mandatory to apply.
i've never seen different kernel between countries in the same build, all files (kernel, modem, power_management, system) are the same and the hidden file contains only 'The art of Flight' movie.
That's just my 'experience', so maybe someone has other thoughts on this topic..

SMS working. Tried it couple of times.
I have been checking the phone all day and everything seems to be in order except there is no way to go split screen in recent apps.
On S7 nougat split screen mode is changed a bit from vanilla Nougat. There is a dedicated button for split screen on every tab when you enter recent apps.
On A3 nougat however there is no such button. Anyone figured it out yet?

Apparently multi window view is disabled on A3 2016 Nougat release. I have searched a bit and found that A5 2016 has this feature under Advanced Features-Multi Window but A3 doesn't... What a load of **** since it is Nougat native feature

We could sign a petition for it but it's too much of a hassle for the dev team to make a change just for this one thing. Then again it is something native to nougat which makes the experience half of what it should be. We also didn't get night mode and controlling flash sensitivity. I understand not having features for an ID button but these are the small things which make the experience feel halved. Honestly the update is nice and I'm hoping these features get on with a small update. And even if they don't I'll still wait till this phone dies on me.
Did anyone tried to flash this German MM (DBT region) firmware with having different CSC?
It seems that the original package with this MM is multi-csc and it is defaulting me to XEO and without root (I don't want to root this phone) I am unable to change it (the solution of breaking reflash via Odin to go into recovery to apply different CSC did not work but maybe I did something wrong although followed one guide couple of times). Anyway... anyone has some more experience in flashing this DBT with success?
I had XEH rom, then just flashed this DBT and it worked instantly (even without wipe)

Well... I have to say - it "works" fine - I mean - after flashing via Odin the phone boots up correctly without touching the data,etc. Everything works just fine. But it still defaults to XEO anyway.

If you're rooted, try installing Root Essentials, it can be found in the Playstore. In the "Interface" tab is an option to "Enable Freeform window mode - Nougat". It might work.
For Splitscreen mode, edit build.prop and edit/add the line:
ro.build.type
Value = Userdebug
The default is set to "user". Changing this to "userdebug" and rebooting will reveal a new option in "Developer Options" to "Enable MultiWindow Mode".
* Edit: There is an app, also available on Playstore, called Taskbar. This will allow you to use Freeform MultiWindow mode through Taskbar settings, if the above doesn't work. I'm using it for now, on LineageOS as there is no Freeform window support in the current LineageOS build for A310f. It works very well and actually has more configurable options for MW than Samsung's defaults.
** You can use Taskbar without root. Otherwise, root, enable "userdebug", check the switch in Dev'Options, then unroot. The option will still be available.
I found a bug... When you use third party keyboard (SwiftKey in my case) and use default sms app try to click on emoticons button. It instantly tries to switch to Samsung Keyboard for emoticons and it displays that keyboard is not working. Then you must go to Language and Input settings to reactivate what ever keyboard since the selection goes blank... Annoying...

Additionally - I've just checked with SamFirm and it is downloadable directly from Samsung servers (see the screenshot) And I recommend going with the second way of obtaining the firmware (Samsung servers directly).
Firmware upgraded with Odin and working fine (Upgraded directly from XEO based MM to DBT based Nougat (without installation of DBT MM which did not work for me).\
BTW: I can also confirm the bug with external keyboard and emoticon button (causes crash of Samsung keyboard when clicked ;/

Only custom firmware updates are available to me

I only get custom firmware updates on my p20 lite.
I haven't updated my phone yet.
Current version: ANE-LX1 8.0.0.112 (C432)
New custom version: POLKOMTEL.PL 8.0.0.2 (CT)
Is there a way I can update my phone to normal firmware updates?
Is root required for this?
Will I need to backup my phone before I update to a normal firmware?
If so what is the best way to back up the phone, preferably where I don't sync to Google or another provider who likes to collect data like the contact list?
I am not using an SD card. My phone is a dual sim version

Not a complete answer…
You can check with carful, without root, if you have Huawei firmware instead of firmware customized for your provider, read this thread (at your own risk).
What is the reason that I only get "new custom version" firmware updates?
Should I maybe unlock the bootloader and root the phone? Will this stop these "custom versions"?

At the moment it is not sim locked to one provider. I am using two sim cards from two different providers and both sim cards work.
I am afraid if I make the update it will either be sim locked, have some features disabled like WiFi Hotspot or it will get a lot of bloatware from POLKOMTEL.

First this update is at least strange, if your device is SIMLOCK_DEACTIVE and Vendor Country is hw/eu like mine, the regular update expected should be B126 or B136.
This updated can fail, if not bloatware will be present as always but lock your SIM is hard to believe to me. If you are in the hw/eu with link from my last post you can try update to B136. Or you can try capture the link for POLKOMTEL firmware and share here and then I install in mine.
Edit, check in your if the feature Automatic system updates is enable.
When I first started using this phone I used it with a different sim card. As soon as I put the plus.pl simcard into the phone the custom update appeared.
It looks like this
The update did download and I got asked to restart the phone to install it. I never restarted the phone so it was never installed.
OEM unlock is off and automatic system updates are on
SIMLOCK Info: SIMLOCK_DEACTIVE
Vendor Country Info: hw eu
Fuse Info: Error
If you are interested in this custom firmware I can try capturing the link if you tell me how to.

Your SIMLOCK is with same status as mine and Vendor Country too.
Yes, this update seems to be related to plus.pl sim card and maybe it appear because of automatic system updates are on.
If download already happened I'm not sure that you can capture, but you can try.
Generate a logcat file:
Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt
logcat.txt file will be generated in the current directory, then search for a link that starts with:
Code:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180
I finally managed to get a normal firmware update.
The firmware finder app for Huawei didn't work. This was because the mobile provider firmware was higher than any real firmware. (8.0.0.200).
I couldn't find this custom firmware in logcat.
I disabled automatic system updates in developer options.
After that I went to - >settings - > APPS & notifications - > APPS - > system update
Here I pressed force stop
After that I went to Storage - > Clear Data
After this I went to the system update and the "custom firmware" was no longer there. Instead I received an official Huawei update!!!!
Also my mobile data was switched of while I was doing that. I only used WiFi. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Unfortunatelly Your measure steps are not working for me. In developer options i have automatic updates setting disabled and it only protects me that EMUI system update is nagging me with notification to make an update and not doing it behind my back.
Any official non branded updates are no longer appearing (ANE-LX1), only branded from my local operator. It seems any local custom operator update has higher priority over official ones (or operators have found an exploit to make their updates more important than official ones).
Clearing data of update apps is making things worse because the second step in protection from unwanted update is app privilege named phone (at least on my device) which has to be disabled and which is enabled by default. So each time i clear data of update app, this privilege returns to on state and allows app to start downloading update.
Finally, the only way to get official update is (on my end) to pull out sim card and restart phone.
I didn't point to this but my device is non branded one, bought in ordinary shop, not related to any operator or SIM card.

Change CSC on Samsung Galaxy Devices with *#272*IMEI number# (replace the red text with your device’s IMEI number), not working any more.
(You can change CSC on Root Devices.) NOTE If bootloader modification to Unlocked state does not trip KNOX, U can uses this tutorial to changes CSC .
NO PROOF
Important Notes:
Only unlocking the bootloader of your Samsung Galaxy device will not trip the KNOX counter.
However, flashing a custom binary such as TWRP or Magisk patched AP firmware will trip it. This may have an effect on your device’s official warranty, so make sure that you check with your regional Samsung support if you’re concerned.
Furthermore, apps like Secure Folder, Samsung Pay, etc rely on KNOX integrity to function. Once KNOX is tripped (that’s after you flash a custom binary), such apps will stop working.
Samsung Galaxy devices with a Snapdragon chipset that are sold in the USA and Canada come with a non-unlockable bootloader. The only way to unlock the bootloader on US Snapdragon devices is by using a paid service such as UNSAMLOCK.

You should see the “OEM unlocking” option greyed out in an ON position stating – “Bootloader already unlocked”.
Why Should I Change CSC?There are a plethora of reasons why you might need to change your Samsung device’s CSC code. For example, if you have purchased an unlocked (carrier unlocked, not bootloader unlocked!) device from any other country, then it would have the language and device settings for that foreign country. Along the same lines, the APN settings and the pre-installed apps will also be of that region only. To overcome this issue, you could easily change the CSC on your Samsung device and flash the firmware of your home country.
What’s CSC on Samsung?CSC is the abbreviated form of “Consumer Software Customization” or “Country Specific Code“. CSC is an essential component of Samsung firmware binaries and it contains customized settings, system configurations, localizations, and geo-specific things such as the system language, APN settings, and carrier-branding.
How to Check or Find CSC on Samsung DevicesYou can check the CSC of your Galaxy device by dialing a code on your device’s dialer itself. The secret code you need to dial is *#1234#
My result.
Look at the line CSC: T225 OLM1 BVGB
it's separated into 3 part. Device model , CSC code , firmware version no.
Since I flashed the CSC code "OLM" (Multi-CSC region XEV "Vietnam") firmware and switched to THL (Thailand) Region CSC, it shows me both the CSCs.
In the 3rd line, you can see the activated CSC, that is THL. This simply means that I’ll keep getting official OTA updates.
Note: After finished installing , bootloader auto relocked again. then before flashing you must installed Stock firmware , toggle on Debugging mode and OEM unlock in developer options. No root.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now, let’s come to the 3rd line in the above screenshot: THL(1)/THL(2)/THL(3).
The first CSC value, that is THL in my case, shows the active CSC. This determines the access to services and updates. You will receive updates on this channel. This is also the country used for Samsung’s Beta programs in case you want to join one.
The second value "THL” shows that my Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a One-SIM variant. This value only shows what SIM you have inside, and doesn’t affect any aspect of the experience.
The 3rd CSC value, that is THL again, shows the country code for which the Samsung device has been manufactured and configured. This one cannot be changed and it doesn’t need to. In case you get the phone from a carrier, this value will have the locked CSC code. In case the other values don’t match, your carrier can refuse warranty service (since warranty goes through the carrier in case you’re on a contract.

May I ask is this useable also when switch from different multi CSC? I have XTC now and planning to switch to DBT. And both have different group to try ANdroid 13 if it fixes my light sensor since A11 downgrade is not possible
