Screen Res -
*Amaze - 540 x 960 pixels *Lumia -480 x 800 pixels
GPU
*Amaze - Adreno 220 *Lumia - Adreno 225
Secondary Camera -
*Amaze - 2 MP *Lumia - 1.2MP
These are major difference. But IF you comparing Android OS to Windows,i would recommend Android.I've used both OS.Windows is great, but not highly customizable like Android.Lumia wants a Lumia phone to send files via Bluetooth. It can't send to any others. Also Windows need Zone software to transfer files between PC & Winows phone!USB Masstorage won't detect if you don't have Zone on your PC.It is like APPLE.But atleast apple has alot of apps & games not like Windows.I recommend you Android. But the choice is yours
Well the thing is I do like androids. I recently just got rid of my unlocked HTC 8S because it moves on 2G speeds with tmobile (terrible) and reverted back to my amaze. I disagree on your point about the USB Mass storage as I have witnessed otherwise. Also when it comes to androids I stopped worrying about customizing as I used to customize the phone everyday as new information was available. I just want the device that is fairly simple and fast that is capable of doing daily tasks such as SMS/MMS Twitter apps Facebook Multiple Email accounts and fast Web surfing and music player. I really like Zune music player esp in comparison to Itunes. I'm not very big on apps as you can see

Optimization help

Okay, so I'm REALLY anal about the speed of my phone, the slightest bit of stutter or lag from just the notification center itself really bothers me. I was wondering if someone could recommend some really good settings for my phone
I currently am running
JellyBam 6.3.0 (JB 4.2.2)
4Aces Kernel
I would like some good settings regarding governor, CPU Frequency, and any other things I can do including stuff in developer options, if that helps. Thanks!
It is likely that you will always have "some" degree of lag present in the note 1. Due in large part to our GPU. We are also limited in performance by our dual core CPU.
That being said, the closest to zero lag I've found, is using Flappjaxxx current JB AOSP build, (0225) combined with nova launcher, and his newest 3.0.9 ALT kernel.
Windows, transition, and animator settings to "off" in development settings.
Wheatley governor set to 384 min, 1.72 max.
system tuner app on system controls set to "recommended".
No over/undervolt.
forced GPU rendering in development settings.
These are my main settings, but yours will likely differ.
Happy tuning....g
^^Limited performance from "only a dual core" ...
Hardware is WAY ahead of software right now.
The second core is offline most of the time due to no load and developers of apps not fully understanding how to utilise multiple threads...
Adding more cores on top of an unused core ain't really gonna help much.
And yet we cant even stream a quality youtube video above 22 FPS, all the while the MSM8660 specs boast a capability of nearly 60 FPS with the Adreno 220 GPU.
So my question is, Are we seeing reduced performance from the CPU, or the GPU. It cant be all software, as we see the reductions when ranging software from GB to JB.
Drivers are in play of course, but I can't hardly imagine a piece of code so poorly made, as to reduce output capacity by 50%.
Not doubting you brother because I "know" you know your way around this machine, and because we so many times have traveled the same paths of thought. And it's entirely possible I'm missing a critical point here. But damn...I wanted the stated video speeds, and I'm not getting what Qual and company promised me. and in a direct comparison to the note2 quad, it's night and day as I watch the same video on my note1 next to my wifes 2. The odds are in favor of 2 cores running low speed on the quad core unit, as opposed to our note 1 running a single core wide open until the second one is needed. That of course was the basis for my statement.
OP can tweak for many great improvements, but I personally feel like we were duped on the claimed output of the 8660.....g
Just get a wife - then the phone lag will seem so trivial.
LOL .....he speaks the truth ....g

[Q] Cherry Mobile Razor - Changing the screen refresh rate

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone involved in this site. The experience has been very enriching so far.
I have a Cherry Mobile Razor which I bought here in the Philippines. Specs are as follows:
- Mediatek MT6589 Quad-core Cortex A7 Processor
- PowerVR SGX 544MP
- 1GB LPDDR2
- 540x960 qHD IPS LCD Screen
- 4GB Internal Storage
-16 GB SDcard/ External Storage
- Android Jellybean 4.2.1
- 1750mAh Battery
Now, it is a sweet device for it's price point. Catch is, the screen refresh rate is locked to a snail-pace 22Hz. That's right, 22Hz. The big difference between the amount of frames the device can process and the rate it can spit images out on the screen is so big it shows as a laggy platform for a myriad of 2D applications. You can even feel the "display latency" when typing on the on-screen keyboard. The animations are fluid, but laggy response can be felt.
The question:
I wish to edit the refresh rate setting on the device and set it to about 60Hz. I am rooted and read somewhere that settings are located in the kernel. I am thinking of editing the boot.img in my device, either the manual way via ADB or through a kernel kitchen. But before I do any sort of unpacking, editing, then repacking - am I looking at this correctly?
Are there other things I need to consider and know like LCD screen specs, etc.,... ????

Smallest rom with smallest UI

hey guys I owned multiple phones in my life and to be honest the best one I had is the HTC One XL
single cored device of 1.5GHZ i over clocked it to 1.8GHZ and i still have it, it is a lot faster than all new phones, faster than sony phones heck its even faster than my Xperia Z5 Compact 8 cored!!
4 cores of 2ghz and another 4 of 1.5 and can not even compete to the speed of the One XL when it comes to launching apps speed and smooth UI experience!
so I am asking you if its any related to the roms we have and the drivers of sony could be causing the problems? I tried AOKP AOSP AICP Lineage roms they are fast enough but still why isnt it as fast as the 4-5 years old HTC SINGLED CORED!
if its roms related or UI can any one suggest really small roms or UI that can give my device a more powerful experience?
thanks for any one that can help
Funny. Any proof, maybe benchmarks screenshots or comparsion video? My Antutu score is 86 660 on stock 7.0 firmware for example.

thats exactly the funny thing! I have a really high score on multitasking - GPU, basically every thing else besides "Single core" score
and its really funny how the phone specs it says : it comes with 4 large cores of 2.0GHZ when in actuallity they run at 1.5ghz and when you actually run it on 2.0 youre actually "over-clocking" when in actuallity its just what they are supposed to do! how is that?
plus I got 59000 on AOKP how is that possible??

Marvel Contest of Champions Full Graphics (Including fog, rain and blur effects)

Hello guys and devs...
I play Marvel Contest of Champions for over 3,5 years and played it on iPhone 7 Plus for 2 years.
Is there any solution to make it full graphics as like iPhone? Even 5s can work with full graphics but androids dont show those effects.
In previous versions of Samsung Game Tuner had ability to run it with full graphics by putting all options to full capacity on Samsung S8. It is not sensible while Adrene 630 can not work with full graphics while S8 can with Mali-G71 MP20 or Adreno 540 GPU (Version related).
Developers please help us (millions of Android users) to run the game with full graphics at higher FPS.
