Question How is your battery on your Xiaomi 12T Pro ? 🦜 - Xiaomi 12T Pro / Redmi K50 Ultra

I would like to discuss in this thread what the battery of our Xiaomi 12T Pro is like and let's share screenshots of the hours of screen on time, tips and settings to help improve the battery of this beast

I have an online shop, I use Instagram a lot, and VPN is always on and I am connected to the Internet with data
MIUI 14.0.1 GLOBAL

Amazing, best phone battery i ever used
i make about 8,5-9,5 hours screen on time on stock MIUI 14 and MIUI EU
Just added all apps (except whatsapp, gmail and telegram (messaging apps)) disabled in the background after 10 minutes of non-use (in battery options)

Notifications channels are not available

Notifications channels or categories are introduced in Android since oreo but unfortunately I can't find anywhere in poco phone. It's the standard notification like old nougat.
I checked multiple apps like whatsapp but nothing yet.

Stock 9.6.22 for me, and this build does not provide notification channels.
I use an app called 'MIUI Hidden Settings' to set channel wise notifications. Just go into 'Manage Notification' section in that app and set channels accordingly for the apps you want.

What's ur opinion on unofficial xiaomi.eu build 9.2?

I've always used xiaomi.eu for all my xiaomi devices it's the best stock based rom out there if I might say. If you check the forum you will see what they do and optimize compared to stock Rom. I've also tried a few aosp Roms for my older phones.
They are based on Chinese weekly development ROM and are always up to date, sure a few bugs can occur but very few times have I even noticed them. Weekly works great as a daily drive.

I need to know the major difference between xiaomi.eu 8.9.20 weekly build and stock global miui 9.6.22 in terms of stability, performance, new features, bugs, battery consumption??
Does xiaomi.eu 8.9.20 have stock kernel or is it customized? would I suffer from audio quality/ wifi-bluetooth connectivity/luquid cooling malfunction/generic drivers failure if this kernel is customized?
can I restore my apps/settings and home screen made by mi cloud/local backup from miui 9.6.22 after flashing the weekly build?

Are you being serious right now?
I've given you all the answers to your questions.
What is it you don't get when I say it's stock based.
Let me put it like this instead.
Xiaomi.eu is the exact same version as the official xiaomi weekly development version meaning it's the same kernel, modems, drivers, 1 drop of fluid in the heatpipe and so on.
The only thing with xiaomi.eu is that it's better, it's, optimized/ tweaked for better use and more towards users from all of the world, minus the Chinese stuff that most of us outside of China don't want nor need.
I hope my answers helps you understanding it's the same. Also please Google some, all those questions could easily be answered if you just Google or check a YouTube video about official vs xiaomi.eu. I even bet you get like a presentation with exact differences listed somewhere I bet.
Anyways you are welcome.

Thank you for your support
I already searched everywhere but couldn't get comprehensive answers except from you.
Thank you again for being patient
If you want to know the difference between the official and the eu ROM I suggest you first check what the difference is between official stable and official developer.
Also that you check xiaomi official forum because they post all that stuff on there. They even show you what changes have been made, what bugreports people have sent in and last but not least they even post what future updates will Come every week.
So you figure first out the difference between stable and developer, after that I think you will answer your very own questions about eu ROM vs developer official.
Peace [emoji111] I'm out

I have certain apps that don't have any notification settings, I can only enable the 'dot'. It's actually only two apps: Yi Home and Mi Home, when I open the notification settings of these apps it says they haven't shown any notifications and I only get one slider (for the 'dot').

I tried with this app but both the Yi Home and Mi Home app don't show in the list when I open 'manage notification' .
Any ideas?
I use Yi Home for my camera alerts so this is really annoying. I get no sound, LED, vibration, only a notification in the status bar which I have to look up manually.
I use Mi Home for my Roborock vacuum cleaner, this one does vibrate and activate the LED but the settings are not available for change.

Best Battery/Performance ROM/Kernel combination?

Hey team!
I wanted to start this discussion by knowing which setup you prefer the most:
Example:
1. Havoc OS
2. Shadow Kernel
3. Magisk Modules: GPU Rendering, LKT, Universal GMS Doze
4. SOT: 8-9 Hrs (Moderate usage, Pokemon Go for 2 hours, YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram)
5. Idle Drain: 10% in 8 hours
6. Naptime, Servicely
I believe this will help people deciding people which setup to use!
Hope we can get a lot of feedback, thank you!
Since I dont care about battery life I just use the premade rom by dev
example
HavocOS - with kernel that comes with it.
No battery saver / profile etc.
Got 6-7hr sot 30hr+- bot
without details, its miui 9.6.25 oreo

Poco F1 batter heat issue

I have unlocked the bootloader a week ago
I have a tried several roms like.
1.pixle experience
2. Lineage os
3. Miui beta
4.oxygen
5. Nitrogen
6.AICP
7. aosp extended
8. Pixel CAF
9. OMNI
10. VIPER
IN every ROM I have used the battery temp is always above 40°C at idle and full load it crosses 48°C . Is there any solution
My battery temp is never that much in any of the roms i tried.
In you case, check 2 things..
1. What is the ambient temperature of your room. You device cannot be below the ambient temp of your surroundings.
2. Some app i probablyrunning in the background. Check battery usage to spot any such app. Also uninstall any app that is not from a good developer.

Battery saving tips

I am only getting 4 hours screen on time so I have begun to make battery saving choices on my phone and I want to share them with you.
I am using latest AOSIP ROM and just minutes ago changed to Sphinx kernel in hope of improving battery. For some reason Android system uses about 16 % of my battery.
Battery saving app choices with AMOLED screens:
Kiwi browser (night mode makes the app black and also changes the site backgrounds black. Also you can move address bar to bottom)
Vanced black youtube (can be installed via Magisk)
AOSIP completely black system theme
Business calendar (black background)
Pocket casts (black podcast player)
Change whatsapp background to black
I don't install apps like Facebook that run in the background and poll the internet constantly in hopes of saving battery.
I am coming from Xiaomi Redmi 4X with fantastic battery life so this has been a bummer.
I really like AOSIP and wouldn't want to change. Other people don't complain about it's battery so I wonder why Android system uses so much battery. I hope the new Sphinx kernel helps me.
Change to Sphinx kernel and install of Magisk module LKT with battery profile improves dramatically my battery life and I haven't seen any side effects.
73 % battery remaining after a day. Screen on time 1 hour and 45 minutes with light usage of WhatsApp and browser mainly.
Edit: 49 % remaining after 3 hours 52 minutes SOT. Very happy with the phone now!

I think performance wise experience would be same but Poco will have a development community advantage over Sony, Poco will have many roms, customisation, mods etc etc.. But media consumption , screen quality, camera would be much better on Sony. It's your call, which type of experience you want since you started using Sony recently.
Well I am also buying POCO this sale only because of SD845 and active development community, mine current device is Samsung G S7, I know I am gonna sacrifice on display and looks of the phone but thats okay.

Yeah development community is very big advantage for me with poco.as far as camera is concern my search says it is not big difference between them both(except super slow motion of Sony) . But yeah I like screen and built quality of Sony a lot, what I dislike about Sony beside development is its flash light which is very low.flash light is very important for me. I use it daily 3-4 times in a day. Thanks for your reply p

wow!
usually such questions are easy for me! if someone asks on xda that should he/she be switching from xyz to Poco or not ..
however the involvement of Sony adds ZING to this question!
keeping specs short comings of (storage/ram/screen) of xz2 when compared to Poco f1 ASIDE.............
Remember! Xperias are Apple (iphone) of the Android world! , Sony Xperia Stockrom is fine Tuned with hardware like soul to body, the simple intervace having so much to offer as your make any xperia your daily driver is I must sayd unique Japanese touch!
- you will feel happy on the hardware specs sheet of poco once its in your hands but
- you will MISS sony Xperia Stockrom UI experience big time!
- PocoF1's display with bad viewing angles, is NOTING infront of Sony's Triluminos display backed up with Bravia Engine! ,
- also Xz1 has Stereo speakers and poco f1 don't
-Xz2 is gorilla glass 5 front and back giving premiuim feeling!
- Camera of XZ2 is way better than poco f1
- xperia is more stable and can handle acidental bricking better than many devices
now poco f1 advantages
- cheaper device with SD845 no bumps curves or slippery finish so if you drop it and it breaks! it won't give your heart attack!
- poco f1 is very popular on xda and you will find many roms and kernels on and off Xda!
- rooting poco is piece of cake once boot is unlocked after 72 hours! however Rooting Sony Xperia XZ family is NOT as simple as that! YOu will have to make a deal with devil , once sony sends Unlock Key, and you use that key to boot unlock your XZ2, the Digital Rights Management Keys (DRM keys) in hidden Trim Area (TA) will be Washed/wiped and now many software will support only basic features, like sd card support will be reduced to 64gb / bluetooth 3.0 only/ camera slowmotion and other premium features wont work, fast charging wont work, bravia engine wont work, mega Bass and other sound effects won't work! ... there are long and serious work around and methods to EXTRACT TA partitions before unlocking the bootloader! but whether it works or not! only you can tell by trying these comlicated methods!
- Xz2 is not popular on xda hence i don't think so there are many custom roms or kernels! but then Sony Stockrom is itself is enough
- on custom rom! it never hangs! you can use dozen of social media apps and you will hardly notice any lags!
problems with POCO
- gosh touch issues are constantly bieng reported on various MIUI builds time to time!
- bad viewing angle makes your eyes water when you try to watch movies longer!
- modified vendor image has usb tethering error on 3g which makes system ui crashes and/or random reboots!
- I personaly found 4g connectivity issues many times on miui and or custom rom on various kernels! I am always rebooting or Toggling Airplane mode for poco to register itlef on the nearest tower with fresh ip! , where my Xperia works amazing on both 3g/4g

Yeah quite correct and clear post on topic in detail. DRM keys and deal with the devil is my real problem, also lake of custom ROMs and lake of community support makes me to buy Poco F1 over Sony Xz2. I am gonna by it tomorrow cheers
So finally I got poco coming in 3 days.
Meanwhile I wanted to know (off topic :angel
Does miui has automatic call recording,?
And which custom rom has these features
Automatic call recording
Button mapping ( button to kill apps, multi windows, switch recent app)
Screen shot in power button
Press and hold power button for torch (while screen is locked
These are the most important things for me please answer. Thanks
Also tell me how many of them can I find in miui?
After all this is my first experience with miui

for MIUI
since MIUI8 , the dial has automatic CALL recording (GSM calls ONLY)
- only Button MIRROR is available in miui ( recent app style is TILES only (not oreo Stack)
- swip three fingers down has screen shot gesture, ( I don't thinks so power button has such thing )
- pressing power button twice may trigger torch (you can set this guesture from miui gestures) (since miui 5)
about custom roms,
- call recorder is embeded in most of them (gsm only)
- button mapping is also available but not in every rom! you should try RR however navbar can be tweaked in nearly all roms! (havoc, crdroid, RR are the best)
- hardware keys can be configured on deep level! power menu can have many or few options as per your configuration
- you can configure torch on power button toggle (i am on havoc)
H-O-W-E-V-E-R
since you said its your FIRST expeirence with MIUI, I don't want to be a bummer or wana scare you off from poco! but........ since you are my type of person who give importance to certain types of customizations then I am affraid you will NOT like Miui very much!
why ???
- MIUI (atleast on poco) have no KEYBOARD switch key in navbar, if you have two or more keyboards installed (gboard and/or swiftkey) everytime you will have to swipe down the notification find SELECT INPUT METHOD to change /toggle between keyboards! where on stock android and in all custom roms (LOS based or CAF based) have this feature appears in either LEFT or RIGHT (or both) sides of navigation bar (you can customize)
- miui navbar stays WHITE most of the times and for me its annoying!
- miui recent screen has tiles method which is very annoying for me!
- you cannot disable any bloatware! you must ROOT your device and have third part app to do that!
-poco has modified vendor image ( i am gonna avoid details here) , so the impact is you must ditch MIUI kernel for poco and have custom kernel like FRANCO/ Twisted / OD / sphinx etc and use kernel manager app if you wana BOOST sound/volumes etc
- poco screen is unlike sony so i use custom kernel for KCAL to enrich vibrance
- notification method on miui is strange! , i noticed it puts LATEST msg from any one in the BOTTOM of that tile, for example if you recieve 3 msgs from 3 users on whatsapp apart few seconds each, stock android puts latest on top within WHATSSAPP tile, howeve miui puts it on bottom, so kept reading obsolete notification lines unless i became annoyed! , same case should be with emails too ( I don't remember that)
- miui has limited quick setting icons! i wanted to add toggle 3g/4g and usb tethering on Quick Setting Panel but i had to do that from netwrok settings always!
- due to modified vendor image, all custom roms have this BUG where if you tether 3g , the System ui craches or many com.android.phone starts crashing! so try to avoid usb tethering on 3g network!
nvm ... didnt c the previous comments
cheers!

Wow wow wow :good:
Thanks for giving me your precious time and so much detailed answer
such a great pleasure to read your post.
This is also one of the reason why I prefer poco over Sony (community support)
After reading your post I think I should try miui first before installing any custom rom. Obviously I would root it first
Thanks again
