n00b Question About Which ROM to Use

At least I admit to being completely green here. Please be gentle.
I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 today. All I want is a recommendation on which ROM to put on this bad boy, please. I have already rooted it following the instructions found here. Rooting was a piece of cake.
When I look at all of the ROMs available, I am kind of confused as to which ones I can actually use with my model of tablet.
It is a model GT-P7500 which the following:
Android v3.1
Baseband P7500UBKG6
Kernel 2.6.36.3
[email protected] #1
Build number HMJ37.UBKG9 P7500UBKG9
Thank you very much for your suggestions. I am looking very forward to enjoying my tablet.
By the way, I did do some research, but get kind of confused because when I read about the different ROMs available, I am not sure which one can be used on my tablet. I don't want to mess up by attempting to install something that I am not supposed to. I figure it is better to ask for advise than it is to turn my tablet into a door stop.
Thank you all, again!
What tablet do you exactly have (there are variations of that tablet)?

Not to sound like a complete idiot, but what do you want to know, exactly? I posted what I thought would be needed, but am not sure where to find the "variation" info. I posted everything from the "about tablet" screen.
I appreciate you answering my question. Thank you.

It turns out that you have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 (3G & WiFi). You could check out this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268099 or this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233328 .
Thank you very much. I will check those out.
Edit: I was looking at the ROMs at those two links provided. Unless I am mistaken, they are not for my tablet.
Or, do the ROMS work on any tablet, regardless of the build and baseband I currently have?

I'm not sure what you are asking. If you are asking if I am asking how to use ROMs, then in a sense, yes, I am.
I am not quite sure if I can apply just any ROM I want to. I noticed that when people post ROMs, they post which device they were made on. If my device is different, I am not sure if I can use the ROM or not. That is what I am asking.
When I look at the ROMs that are in the links above, they are not created using the same firmware that I have. I want to ask for advice before doing something stupid.
Thank you.

If a rom is not made for your device, do not ever try to flash it. Unless, of course, you want to turn your device into an expensive paper weight . If you flash a rom not made for your device, it will be bricked.

Thank you. That is what I was trying to find out. But, to clarify... I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1. Can I use any ROM made for a Galaxy Tab 10.1? Or, are there other parameters that also need to match? If so, what parameters?
I really appreciate the help you guys provide. Kudos!

Only if it is your version of the tab. Example - You should not flash a rom made for the Wifi-only model of the tab since you have the 3G+Wifi model.

Great! Thank you. I was under the impression that the ROM had to come from the same firmware version, etc. But, if it is just model specific, that is a huge help.
Thank you, again!!
Another question to help me understand. In one of the links posted above, the ROM instructions say:
Please note that your Base stock Rom should be JPKG6
then:

This is what is confusing to me. If I have a Wi-Fi/3G model (GT-P7500), and it is not based on JPKG6, according to the instructions, I should not use this ROM. But, in the last post you said that as long as the model is the same, it is OK.
Why the instruction to have base stock ROM, then?

I have always wanted to root my S2 but I have no idea which information about my phone to look up for. The attached is my phone information.
Which info should I look for to find the software? Baseband or Kernel or Build number? And how do I know am I using ICS or GINGERBREAD? What should I look out for or any important things that I have to take note?
Apologize for the noob question.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Well, see that 4.0.4 there? Start with this.
In that screen you're showing, tap repeatedly on 4.0.4 and see what happens.

Hi gaston,
Is it I have to downgrade my firmware from 4.0.4? Because it never says anything about rooting and I don't quite understand that post. =x

Hum..let's say that while you are in 4.0.4 you are in danger (If you wanna modify your device, software related).
If you wanna play it safe, you got 2 options:
1) downgrade from 4.0.4 to 4.0.3
2) flash a safe kernel (like siyah).
Just start digging about all these, read some threads, some guides, watch some youtube videos of flashing and rooting.
After that, if you still want to root/flash your device, you'll find many guides & tutorials in the general forum. Just like this.
Modifying your device is not hard, you just have to know what you are doing and learn the what-not-to-do tips.

I see. Thanks alot! =)
And 1 more thing is, after downgrading from my current firmware, do I need to care about whether it's GINGERBREAD or ICS? And what about the build number? Because I have seen there's quite alot of build on the net, so I'm really quite lost and confused.

Gingerbread is just the previous version on ICS. Some consider it better, other consider it old. You just have to remain far from brick bug. Download gotbrickbug app from play store if you want a good old scare
Don't worry about the builds, just make sure that you flash an I9100 ROM.
Still, you're up for some reading first.

[Q] bootloader locked or not?

my question is simple how to know if my bootloader is locked or not ? i need it to be unlocked so i can root it using this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273&highlight=root+samsung+galaxy+s3&page=55

Stop.
Don't do anything else to your phone before you go and read ALL the stickies in the general forum.
You need to understand the basics and backup your efs folder before you destroy your phone.
Please don't start new threads for questions that have been answered a hundred times before and are all in the faq.

btw I9300 bootloader is not locked but do read the stickies as it is a different device than all american and several other sgs3 variants
okok no need to kill me i learned my lesson READ the stickies before posting stupid question!!
i scoured this place but i cant find a way to know the bootloader status i found out that xoom is locked and some xperia devices and that i can determine the bootloader status by the time it take on the boot screen but this doesnt sound very accurate is there a code to put it in the dial pad ?
Bootloader is irrelevant, it's a separate operating system that plays no part in recovery or rom.

You're trying to find something that doesn't exist, confusing completely different handsets with Samsung's open approach.

actually the verizon sgs3 does have a locked bootloader. so it is not always the manufacturer that makes the decisions. in the us the carriers have much more input especially in regards to updates. att just recently began updates to 4.12.
have a look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756338 they are all samsung galaxy s 3 but none are identical . some are exynos , some are snapdragon. ram , video boards, radios all different variants. that is why it is important to know your device
All the US versions are the same hardware... Besides Radio related stuff...

Google is your friend. there are already a few threads that have nearly asked the same question.
Plus you have asked this same question basically the same questions multiple times now, with no response. which means either it isn't possible or hasn't been done.
If your device isn't the European version good rule of thumb is not to cross flash hard bricks can result.
I know in the past its not been possible. unless it has changed

Honestly if you dont have the skills you shouldnt be attempting what ypu are trying to do. A hardbrick could occour
It has never stoped me b4 a while ago I unlocked a g4 and flashed recovery all my life I have been told I can't do this can't do that because of the dyslexia also affects my balance I was told I'd never be able too ride a bike but did that didn't get it done until I 10 but did it anyway I find it annoys me when people say that I should be able to do thing.....
Also have had heaps of Samsung's device's.....also had a few g3 with root and recovery and a g flex 2 with root and flashafire with xposed module.....so not a rookie in the android world.

Please read if you have experienced hardbrick, softbrick or bootloop.

If you don't want to mess up your device, just use it as it was intended. Don't unlock the bootloader, don't install custom recovery, don't install custom ROMs, don't install Magisk or other root solutions.

For now there is no know way to unbrick the device other then a Authorize account from mi. You need to have a Authorize account or need to visit service center. Best way to not brick your device by double checking everything your going to do.
The only way to answer the question the way it was asked is:
If you have a bootloop, you made something wrong before.
It doesn't make sense to list here now every single thing that could lead you to a bootloop or a bricked phone.
When you are in such a situation, open a thread, write all possible details what you have done before the bootloop/brick, and hope someone could help. ?
First and most important thing: be sure if you have curtana or joyeuse device and be sure that the thing you wanna put on your device IS for that model.
I think that's a good start, cause Xiaomi still messing up the names of their different devices ?
But as written before, if you wanna be safe, don't play around with your device with rooting, flashing custom firmwares etc. ?

Okay I understand now. I think I will have to wait until a proper unbrick tutorial is out.
I have bricked a joyeuse it does not enter through any bootloader. I brickie it by loading twrp. By EDL gives; Sahara Fail Error In QFIL / Miflash Authorized Account I have tried loading all kinds of ROMs... Obviously I still need to test the one that works Help please! Thanks!
You need authorised account ie. you need to pay someone with that account to do the edl flashing.
