Question S23 Ultra International single physical SIM - S918B - possibility of enabling the second SIM slot? - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

So I bought an Australian model of the S23 Ultra, model S918B with a single SIM tray, eSIM and two distinct IMEIs. Dual sim dual standby works normally with a SIM and eSIM. In 'About phone', the IMEIs are listed as 'IMEI' and 'IMEI (eSIM)', not 'IMEI (slot 1)' and 'IMEI (slot 2)'.
But I prefer a dual physical SIM setup, so I got a dual SIM tray from aliexpress, which fits both SIMs perfectly. But the device will not recognize the second SIM no matter what CSC I changed to, including INS, XXV, THL, where dual physical SIMs S918B/DS are sold. The model number does change to S918B/DS, but IMEIs are still 'IMEI' and 'IMEI (eSIM)'.
There are some strange things that I observed. When I change CSC to a market with dual physical SIMs and factory reset, the second SIM will work normally during the setup wizard, until I finish setting up, when it immediately got disabled. Also, if I change CSC to WWD (demo CSC), second SIM slot will work, BUT there is no SIM manager, eSIM nor OTA updates, which is undesirable.
Currently I am on the April update, with system shell exploit working. April is the last version that the system shell exploit can work. https://github.com/wr3cckl3ss1/system_shell_2
Do you guys have an idea on how to do enable the second physcial SIM using the exploit, without tripping Knox and breaking other features? Considering that the device already has 2 IMEIs, IMEI duplication is not required like some older devices (such as S9, S10 Exynos with single SIM). Thanks very much for your help.

Tried that, still the same.
I guess it might be related to the phone's original CSC, which is XSA (Australia - the last CSC in software provider version). It is not changed when changing CSC, only the first 3 values.

Can't change sim for mobile data

Hello,
I'm trying to change the sim card for mobile data but it is blurred out. What could be the problem?
i,imgur,com/ysEfKVP,jpg
Which model you have and which ROM is on board?
Same issue.
I have the same issue with my x829 on the stock EUI 5.0.16S.
I've looked for all the settings and can't seem to make the option appear selectable.

"This is obvious not true. I have x522 S3. If I use the chinese newest rom: EUI Version: 5.9.026S, I can connect to 4GLTE by switching between two sims. If I use the newest US ROM: 5.8.021S, the mobile data option is grey, and cannot be changed. It looks to me that it is a software problem.
However, I can only use wifi calling (Tmobile) using 5.8.021S. The wifi calling function on 5.9.026S gives me error 99.
It is a shame that le eco cannot update the US version to 5.9."
In US ROM: 5.8.21S, root the phone, then use buildprop editor to change the value:
persist.le.fixDataSimForNA=true
to
persist.le.fixDataSimForNA=false
Now you can switch data between two sims.

This could very well be a software issue, but the x522 S3 is a different device altogether. Not sure where you take the confidence to say that it's definitely not a hardware issue, since we're talking about the Le Max 2, not the S3.

Note 8 phone-network not available after not using for more than a year

I had a virtually unused Note 8, on the shelf for a longer time. Just working let's say more than a year ago, nothing to worry about. Until this summer I decided to give it to my mother. Her antique Telfort ( Dutch former provider) SIM did not work when inserted, so it took a while until we requested a new SIM from KPN ( the provider that bought Telfort). The device is completely 'up to date', with the latest updates with security patch from January '21.
Device is now also simply on PHN / PHN / PHN. The SIM is recognized (several SIMs have been tried, also other network-operators). Entering the PIN code is also fine, but there is always that 'mobile network not available' with also the icon on the screen in the statusbar.
What have I already done:
Factory reset, wipe cache, also for all system apps such as SIM toolkit and SIM card management & the Phone app data and cache deleted, forced stopped,
flashed again via ODIN the original latest ROM,
SIM cards from different providers on the different slots .... etc. etc. ..... It is a Dual-SIM, SIM cards are recognized on both slots.
What I am still thinking about, but I do not immediately see the connection, is that I once got call recording working with a Thai SIM in this device. This has not caused any problems in all my other devices of this generation (S7, S8, S9, S10). I have checked Imei number and there shouldn't be a problem with it. Wonder if anyone has any suggestions ?

You sure the phone is unlocked to the network? Tried checking the APN settings? It's all I can think of. I change my csc to get native call recording and have never faced an issue so I doubt it is that.

SM-T978U auto populating wrong APN settings, changing them to the proper ones removes the entry entirely.

I've got a S7+ 5G with the TMB CSC and I'm having a trouble with the APN settings. Using an activated T-Mobile sim in it shows an APN with most of the correct settings but the "Mobile virtual network operator type" is set to "GID" and has a value set below it. This setting is not enabled when using the SIM in either of my other phones. The tablet connects to 5G but has no connectivity I get a notification to "Sign into network" which opens a webpage that never loads anything.
Trying an At&t SIM in it shows no network connection(cancel symbol where signal bars are) and gives me a few APN options all which have the MNC set to 280, which I've learned from here is for T-Mobile. Trying to change that setting to the proper one "410" either deletes or hides the APN where it is not available.
I have a Visible Wireless(Verizon) SIM which works perfectly with no configuration.
Talking to Tmobile support they confirmed that the device was originally sold by Tmobile and is not network locked. After verifying the software is up to date we exhausted all troubleshooting options and contacted Samsung support who's only options were to have it repaired out of warranty for a fee or trade it in for less than what I paid for it.
The software on this device is very peculiar, there are no carrier apps or carrier splash screen on startup. The tablet came with an older software version (security patch dated sept 2021) and would not download an update on its own. I then factory reset the device, used samfirm to download the latest version and odin flashed all but the USERDATA option. There are still no carrier apps installed and if I didn't know any better I'd say it was a generic CSC.
I'd really like to use this device on At&t, 5G or not, and I suspect there are others who would like a carrier-less experience too. Can anyone tell me whats going on with this thing? I'm happy to provide more info if needed.

Question Does XQ-CT62 US edition of Sony Xperia 1 V support eSIM

Hi Folks, any info if the US edition of the Xperia 1V supports eSIM ?

when I had mine I never saw one and even it was Dual sim, which the sim tray has 2 spots for your sim card, so it does not have ESIM.
it should. And it has nothing to do with a slot. Just go to network and internet and next to SIMs there is a + sign, from there you can add eSIM.
well from Sony info and they instructions says the XQ-CT54 only supports ESIM:
Inserting a SIM card and memory cardYour device supports nano SIM cards.
The XQ-CT54 supports the use of one nano SIM card and a memory card. You can use the device as a dual SIM device by inserting a nano SIM card and configuring an eSIM.
The XQ-CT62/XQ-CT72 supports the use of either two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM card and a memory card.
Note
Even if you use two SIMs that support 5G, you can only use 5G on the SIM set for data traffic. You cannot use 5G on two SIMs at the same time.
XQ-CT54: You do not need to insert a nano SIM card if you will only use an eSIM.
Unmount the memory card before removing it to prevent loss of data. To remove the memory card safely, find and tap [Settings] > [Storage], tap [This device] to select [SD card], and then tap

confirmed, thank you. only XQ-CT54 supports eSIM. US model XQ-QT62 does not support eSIM, instead, it has physical dual slots
Hi, I have the XQ-CT54 , would using a dual sim tray from XQ-QT62 work on the XQ-CT54? Meaning would it take two physical nano on the XQ-CT54 which is actually 1nano and esim version?
i think not. Guess they would not bother with different trays and eSIM only for 54 if simple swapping would work. Maybe HW is identical but SONY likes to play dumb in so many occasions with their products and services that are available in one country but not in the one next to it.
Now we have situation where apple is eSIM only in USA and SONY does not support it at all. Dumb and dumber.
I see, I can't find any dual sim trays available online for Sony Xperia 1 iv.

Question Need help figuring out what's up with the XAU CSC code on my Samsung phone.

Hi!
I'm from Peru, about three months ago I bought an S22+ 256gb version through a reseller here in my country (official Samung store only sells the 128gb vairant). Since I was not receiving the Android 13 update I decided to check if I could do it manually, after following some tutorials I ended up in this deadspot, turns out my phone has this weird CSC code that I can't find anywhere else on the internet.

I don't know if it's necessary, but I'll provide some info about my phone when i received it:
It had AT&T stuff inside the box, as well as an sticker on the back of the box, at first i thought it was a locked phone, but it didn't had any proprietary apps. Everything was sealed, phone was clearly new.
While browsing the web, i found this page that let's you check if your phone IMEI was blacklisted, I cheked mine and it has two IMEI, one is blacklisted and one is not. I can use it to make and receive calls as well as use the LTE with my local service provider.
I'm fairly new to this whole "unlocked phone" thing, so my question is... Did I screwed myself up by buying an AT&T stolen/contrabanded phone from the reseller?, or is there a way to update my phone to Android 13 manually without risking bricking it forever.
If some of you guys can help me figure this out, that would be amazing, thanks!
You have a US model. I think the applied CSC is T-mobile but I'm not sure. You can use this tool: https://samfw.com/blog/samfw-frp-tool-1-0-remove-samsung-frp-one-click Under adb commands get a list of CSCs, see if the one you want is there. Then you can go back to the tool's main screen and change your CSC. Takes 10 seconds + a reboot, no data loss. Worked for me both on my Tab S8+ and S22+. Since your CSC is not part of the OXM package I'm not really familiar with the options you'll get on the list. I think XAA is good, it's listed online as USA unbranded. But I'm not from the US so I'm not sure what will have the fastest updates.
Edit: I just saw you have one IMEI blacklisted. Yeah it's probably a bit shady... Not sure if it had any further consequences.
