When the battery is discharged, all is lost on my xda, is there
a way around that?

Settings/Permanent Save will save Connection and INbox settings
to flash memory (plus contacts and appointments if required).
Programs/SD Backup will save all files to the SD card, if you
have one of course.
Both rely on up to date backups being made of course, so it's
far better not to discharge the battery.

32 MB / 64 MB battery life

Am I right in noticing that the batteries of the 64 MB xda model are depleted quicker than the 32 mb model
And is there any other diffrence of the models besides battery-life ?
No
The difference is unnoticable
I'm sure it's just me, but I think I get better battery life with my 64mb than I did with the 32. Battery Pack (3rd party app) now tells me to expect 3hr 10mins from a charge, whereas on the 32mb xda it used to average around 2hr 50mins.
I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the service pack release for PPCPE (which comes with recent ROM updates) had some coding to enhance battery life. Maybe I just conditioned the battery better.

My 32MB Qtek gives me 10hr 46mins newly charged. Your device has to be seriously messed up.
So it said in the manual... Battery Pack's battery remaining time indicator 'learns' how you use your battery and adjusts the time accordingly.
I make phone calls and listen to WMP a lot - I suppose they both give the battery a serious caning.
I don't really believe the display anyway!
What do you do with yours?
Sorry, that last post was me, not logged in!

I use Spb GPRS monitor which displays remaining time depending on the load and usage of GSM. It displays 6:39 when fully charged which is correct IF
1) I connect to GPRS and use it (30kbit average all the time)
2) Have backlight on
3) Have MP3 playing
and it is absolutely correct (with a 20 minute reserve at the end)

more noob questions - battery ?

if I drain the battery to the end which data will be lost ?
I assume not windows bcoz windows is in rom and not data on sd card, maybe contacts and calendar ? Installation of programs which are not in the rom ?
Can I turn off battery warning at 40% and set if for eg at 10 %
Is there any reliable battery meter for 2003 se, found couple of them but every program warned me that it is not for 2003 se and that it wont work properly
Is it true that wallaby battery loose a most of its potential after couple of years ?
Sorry people for asking too much questions, searched the forum already but didnt find any answers to my questions
thanks, GL and HF
yes everything you add is in ram and will be lost if batt goes down
rom is in flash and will stay there untill you flash another
pocket plus have batt meter
The XDA should turn itself off before you are at the stage where you lose your data, and you shouldn't be able to turn it back on.
The lithium polymer batteries tend to be very good with keeping their potential over time, however if you charge it every day or something, it will eventually have less and less capacity over a long time.
thanks a lot guys, you are very helpfull !
"if you charge it every day or something, it will eventually have less and less capacity over a long time."
no!
that memory myth is not even about lithium it's about Nikkel-Cadmium.

lithium also have a lifespan a limited nr of power it can give before going to dirt city but charging it often dont shorten that at all

Hows ur BATTERY LIFE in YOUR present WM6 ROM?

Please POST your battery life in each ROM you installed? lets monitor in each pagepool and each AKU. *Note-i hope in each ROM, you install the same program that you have*
WM6 6mbpagepool AKU 0.7= my batt life is only 1 day
WM6 BETAversion AKU0.7= my batt life is 2 days
WM5 AKU3.3.3 = my batt life is 1-2 days
normal calls a day 20 calls 2min/percall
Telstra JAJAM LIfe
Hi. JASJAM Telstra Australia was:
WM5 - Radio 1.38.00.10 -- Battery generally flat by end of work day about 4hrs calls per day & activesync to Exchange server every 1/2 hour
WM6 Black satin, Radio 1,51.00.10 - Battery flat by/before lunchtime.. Cant get to end of day , even if charging when in the car with usb charger /lead.
I think I need to fix my proper imate car charger (lead broke) as it appears to charge faster when some of the extra pins in the miniusb connector are shorted to (ground?) & this is not done when using generic USB charger & a lead.
I dont know whether its a "feature" of WM6, but when the device syncs now, I see an extra 3G or H icon appear (tiny) next to signal strength indicator & it stays there unless you press & hold "hang up" If data acess remains on, that would make the battery life suck obviously... I wonder if it can be made to cut off after x minutes? I realise this is unrelated, but I have also been experienceing a failure of the windows "Start" icon & key on today screen after using the phone a couple of times & making notes in a call.
I will downgrade to Radio 1.50.00.00 I think & try it. But there were some posts about only versions ending in .10 working in some places ??
8Meg Pool WM5 AKU 3.3F - 4-5% lost overnight (8hours)
4Meg Pool WM6 AKU 6.0 - 25% lost overnight (8hours)
The only software I install is PA for both device. I going to revert back to WM5 as I had monitor WM6 AKU 6.0 for 2 days and I had been getting 25% lost each night.
well now using 4mb page pool... also having 25% lost overnight.... only install HTC home n iLauncher....
good that ur posting here the important thing like this. pls guys, keep on posting..
maybe i will go back also to the beta version of WM6 which give me 2 days on my batt.

what do u mean by percentage 80%. pls elaborate more, im trying to understand ur info.
Guys, are you sure it's not a failing battery or software that's causing the problem? I'm still having only 4-5% at night, which is my normal drain... and I have HTC Home and WBA3 running...

i just want to know where can i buy online , a cheaper but higher capacity batt.
which one ur using @ultimate? mAH?
I'm using a local brand Worcell, 1530Mah, Japan Cells. Tested to perform slightly better than the O2 supplied Taiwan battery of the same rating by me (difference of 1% drain overnight). I switched it because the battery randomly looses its charge, and had no problems since.
4-5% drain overnight, ~40% whole day use, inclusive of RSS reading and 2 35-minute bus journeys of A2DP goodness. ^_^
Without A2DP I get ~29% whole day use.
wm6 atom rom 0.3 or 0.7 = 25% overnight (without any software)
wm5 atom exec rom = 4% overnight (with WA2, HTC Home, pocket brease...)
ATOM WM6 AKU 0.7 8MB pagepool with HTC Home plugin & Touch Cube
ATOM WM6 AKU 0.7 8MB pagepool with HTC Home plugin & Touch Cube
15hours (9am-12midnite) usage and my battery is down to 60-70% of battery power left. I think thats pretty good battery life ( I switch off bluetooth though) - just normal PDA usage, SMS and some short phone calls.
Before, when I was at WM5 (with Xda-Atom-ENG-20060426-MOT0822), I didnt get such a good performance from my battery - battery would drain until 30% battery power left at end of day - but thats when I also left my bluetooth on all day.
I'm still using the original battery that came with my ATOM.
Did anyone replace original battery? where´s buy?

so ur battery last for 2-3 days?
please post also for how many days ur battery last? which batt ur using? and the normal calls duration u have in a day.
exactly what i was shouting about
wm6 8pp
if once fully charged it can work for 1 day + 6 hr
and earlier it was 3 days
I am again getting 25% loss after i hard reset and did not install Phone Alarm.
I can get good battery life.. i will revert back to WM5 AKU 3.3F to see any difference. Let me sync my data first
I am using the 4 meg pool.... anyone using different meg pool like 6 or 8.. What pool did you use to get 4-5 % loss
so ur battery last for 2-3 days?

~2 days at the most with my normal usage. 12 hours if I accidentially leave a game running in the background.
I get pretty much the same results for 3.3F, so no difference there.
Guys, please remember that you have to redo the standard power saving tips (e.g turn off Recieve Incoming Beams) every time you hard reset or reflash your device. Make it a habit.

what are the standard power saving tips? pls post here all for the benefits of the newbies.
*Turn off "receiving all incoming beams"
*Turn off all wireless/bluetooth applications if not in use.
*Reduce the brightness of the backlight
hows everyones battery?
i will monitor again my battery for the upcoming release of new ROM. Hope jiggs can finish that soon.
as of now maximum 2 days i can use my atom with normal duration and numbers of calls i have. Im in Bank Sales, thats the reason my phone is quite busy yet i manage to have the battery life for 2days. that's better for me.

Daylight savings issue

In 2005 daylight saving changed from the first Sun in April to the second Sunday in March. All the appointments in that three week period go an hour into the next day. They are perfect in Outlook. Is this a Android issue? Maybe the Note did not get a patch.

[Q] Battery drain CM11

Few days ago I discovered a huge battery drain on my S3. About 10% per hour. Usually I can manage at least 16-18 hours without charging and this is quite annoying. I also attached screenshots from betterbatterystats and from regular battery settings. I am running CM11 (build Wed Oct 8 00:09:30 PDT 2014).
Any ideas?
EDIT: The phone is also constantly kind of warm and IMO producing heat = using energy.

Screen shots are not helpful, go to betterbatterystats thread and post an idle log for proper investigation. Read the OP.
