Start menu icons for app on SD card? - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

For apps installed to SD card, the icons do not appear on the start menu. I'm sure others have noticed this too on PDAViet 4.0.0.0.4? Is there a way to make them appear?

try this method

How Do You Save Programs And Other Things To Your Storage Card?

Could someone please tell me how to save programs to the storage card because whenever I download programs it doesn't give me the option to do that. The only time it gives me an option to save something to the storage card is when I am saving pictures or using the camera. Also how do you perform a soft reset without it asking you if you would like to do one? Thanks
To soft reset, put your stylus in the little hole in the bottom near the charging port.
When you download something, or install it? Two different things.
If you are downloading, using PIE, then it will pop up a box that asks you if you want to run the program after download, there is a option in that box to choose the storage card.
If your installing a cab file, then you should be given the option to choose to either install the device to phone, or storage.

cht 2.0 question!?

when i put cht 2.0 final on my hd2, do i install it on my device or memory card, or does it matter? and the buttons like the phone and text msg and web and all the icons at the bottom, are all white, help plz, ty guys. btw i have the 6.5 hd2 brand new with the newest rom update.
can someone help plzz!?
You need to install it on internal memory.
About the bottom icons; it's normal thy are white. (What dit you expect?)
But you can skin them; ore install a skin over it. If you take a look into the Theme thread, you will find some alternatives.
hi kurt, i beg to differ...........if you are not going to switch sd cards and stick to one single sd card, i can say that, cht, chte and chts all could be installed on to sd card,(though a few have noted some issues with chtscheduler-chts on sd card,no probs for cht and chte on sd card) i dont have any problems...
.......
for skins, try the touch glass series or anastasia cht softkey skins, but these skins need to be installed to internal memory.

I know sir; even when you select SD, the files will be set on your internal memory (But this isn't the case in each situation; some peoples have troubles with this if thy do it. so it's better to select Internal memory from the beginning.
I have a golden rule for this. Each cab who will install .manila files, .dll files, ... need to bee install on internal memory (reason, its only in the windows folder that your device is looking fore this files) Self supported programs files (.exe) can run from SD
re the white bottom icons, its because cookies has its own softkeys.
menu chteditor softkeys toggle off "enable soft keys" at the top.
great help on this site, learnd everything i know about my hd2 here thank you guys
so where did you install cht and chte?

apps are moved to SD without my consent!

Hi,
It appears that with any Cyanogen ROM (miniCM, GinTonic) applications are being installed on SD even if I disable it in CyanogenMod settings (Allow application moving off, install location - internal).
I'd like to keep some of frequently used programs (such as Go Launcher, whatsapp and more) in internal memory to improve performance (my 32gb card is only class 4).
In order to make sure that this is indeed the case, I installed Go Launcher on freshly installed ROM, turned phone off, removed SD, restarted, surprise surprise -- No Go launcher in apps list, it does appear in "manage programs" with a weird icon..
Thanks in advance
This should not happen as you say you have disabled the move to SD option in settings.
Anyway just unmount you SD card and then try installing the apps...
If you find this info usefully don't forget to click the thanks button.
Hmmmm.....
This stupid thing did not happen to me. (using GingerDX)

[Q] HD2 internal storage reduces daily

My HD2 was flashed with Energy 29022 Sense CHT 2.0 rom 4 days ago. Everything is fine except that I noticed that the internal memory goes down daily. Right after flashing there's about 170 MB, and today there are only 40+ MB left. I have installed most programs in the external storage card, and more importantly, set all my programs to store data in the external starage card. However, obviously some program is storing data in the internal memory without me being aware of it. Can you please give me some hint where to look for those data storage folders in the internal memory? Or which program/app is the suspect? Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
Have you tried moving your Opera Cache Files to Storage Card?
Open Opera and type "opera:config" in the address bar. You'll then be in the config page. Find the section "User Prefs".
In there you should find something called "Cache Directory4". Just change that path to any directory in your storage card
(for example : "\Storage Card\OperaCache"). Scroll to bottom of page and hit Save.
This thing also happens to me... And I'm not using opera. But when I remove my sim and my sd card and turn the phone back up again the lost memory is recovered. Why is that?
Install the attached cab file, after installation open it go to menu> selection> select all> CLEAN.
Do it once a day at least.
there is an option for automatic cleaning by selecting certain folders , I think you can select three folders.
On another note, don't forget to select SD card option when installing programs or Cabs.
Edit : look for the attachment in the next post.
Hope this time the upload is successful.
Is it safe to do a "select all" clean? I read in some posts that it messed up winmo.

unable to save files to sd card due to insufficient file permissions when savind to p

Hi, I flashed the Revolution HD custom rom and updated to the last android version. The problem is when I try to take a picture, I simply get the massage "unable to save files to sd card due to insuffiicient file permissions". The weird thing is that I don't have any sd card! Only use the phone storage. Already tried to reboot the phone, doesn't seems to help.
Any help? Thanks in advance.
Open the camera app, tap 3-dot menu icon, then open settings ("gear" symbol), then select General Settings and see if you can select Storage>Phone Storage.
