How do I restore my OS (newbie) - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

Hi
Just got a prophet and ran a wm6 installation
now I can't get past the startup screen; it freezes where it shows the OS versions. Reseting it doesn't work either. My PC cant connect to it, altough it detects it for a few seconds when I power it up.
Thanks

This has been explained in the above guide but just to make you feel better about your phone try this :
Hold Camera button and press reset. keep holding the camera button till you get to a screen with 3 color (bootloader screen). then connect your phone to your computer and flash a wm5 ROM
Good luck.

OK got it !

don't panic...
you are in bootloader mode.
you've probably executed 'enterbl.exe', which is a part of every upgrade.
just connect your device with your pc and run normal upgrade/flash procedure.
buzz
but i can't use active sync anymyore, i unzipped the thing i downloaded and now it got 7 options to choose from but when i click it it opens a install program and in big red letters ROM IMAGE FILE NOT FOUND
it also says
the pocket pc software update cannot locate the ROM image file to update to your pocket pc. Download the correct rom update for your pocket pc and try again and i am a real noob in these thing
did you try a hard reset?
press the on/off button and the softreset button at the same time.
if that wont work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18287
try putting that rom on your phone and dont forget to change the country id as described.
good luck friend!
how can i change my country when i have a blanc screen on my pda? and what of the four should i download, i don't speak english so it's double hard to understand

if you understand my english thats ok.
i completly understand german but im not so good in speaking it.
normaly we can only speak english here but we can make an exeption so you can speak german to me and i will speak english back. OK? or try the translator (www.freetranslation.com)
did you perform the hardreset?
activesync won't work aslong as serial is replaced by the word usb when in the cradle it's ok carry on with the upgrade
try another pc to upgrade!
thats happen to me too.. but...
i also try to install the downloaded items from this website (which is the new windows version 2003 SE), and soon after i start installing it, my desktop computer says "error has occure during the installation process".
 i was very shocked when i see my device completely blank with a word says "USB (on the top)" and "Ver. 1.03 (on the bottom)".. i really panic beacuse my active sync doesn't worked.. but then i start to hard reset my xda then reconnect my device and try to install it several times (bercause sometimes the error message still appear..) after waiting for 5 step of installation which takes abaout 2 hours
tadaaaaaaa now i have an XDA IIs application on my phone...
So in conclusion:
1. do't be panic
2. try to hard reset ur device
3. reconnect ur device (even if the activesync won't recognized ur device)
4. Install the downloaded files..
5. wait until ur computer says "deleting extended rom" (or something like that)
6. be patient..
7. Pray to GOD..
8. and here you go you got new look for ur beloved xda.
good luck..
oh it works!!!!
there are no words for it and the landscape and the themes, it's BEAUTIFULL!! thanks alot everyone!!!!!!
Similar but not same
Hi I have a similar problem.
While updating my Himalaya device to the XDA2jojo v3.2z5 (not the first time I have installed this version) it has gone completely blackscreen.
I have tried to soft, hard reboot the device. I have also tried to initiate a reinstall with connection error failure. I have tested the batttery and it is okay. No matter what I do I cannot get the device to come back to life.
If I plug the device into the cradle or attach power I get a red light where there is normally the green flashing or orange power light.
Anyone any ideas what this could be.
I have had a similar issue where I would get a blackscreen this problem has occured a few times but I have always managed to get the device back with hard reset.

Stuck in bootloader mode

After I tried to downgrade my Qtec2020 from WM2005 tot WM2003SE the updated stoped in stage 1.
This is what I found in the RUULog.log file:
19:15:11 Connection with Serial
19:16:31 Begin stage 1
19:17:01 CE Erase retry 1
19:17:31 CE Erase retry 2
19:18:01 CE Erase retry 3
Now I am stucked in bootloader mode and tried softreset, hardreset, special WM2005 hardreset but nothing seems to work. I have only a grey screen with Serial v1.02 on it.
Is there anybody who could help me
I've never performed any downgrades from WM5.0 but I have an idea that could work?
Install WM5.0 again, then perform a Hardreset but this time perform the Registry and Storage format (press power+record+camera+reset pin for about 5 seconds and you should see a menu on the screen, by using the record button to select an option and camera button to change to YES. It should be NO, YES, YES and press ACTION button to save changes). Then unhide the Extended ROM and erase anything in there.
Then perform the downgrade to WM2003SE.
I hope this works for you...
Regards,
Rayan
Thanks for the information but it's not the solution.
I tried to install WM5 again but I get an error 112 during the install.
The RUULog.log file:
20:42:03 Connection with Serial
20:43:26 Begin stage 1
20:43:56 CE Erase retry 1
20:44:26 CE Erase retry 2
20:44:56 CE Erase retry 3
The device is still stuck in bootloader mode. All the reset actions won't work (soft, hard, special)
Have you tried the upgrade/downgrade method using an SD card instead of the cradle/pc?
No I only tried it by USB/PC. I will search the forum for how to do this and give it a try. I will let you know later if this is the solution. Thanks for the information so far.
Regards Marco
I search the forum but can't find any way to do this. Can someone tell me how to flash by SD card
It's in the Wiki, not the forums...

Hi, I was just upgading my XDA 2 os when my laptop froze in the middle of the upgrade! Now it only has the o2 startup screeen it won' turn off or connect to my computer to complete the upgrade. What can I do?
Is my Xda gone for good??
skud try aggain
you can put it back in bootloader mode and try aggain
this time on a destop you know power problem in laptop
you will not want a power failure in the middle of an upgrade
hope thats helped
Stuck on Bootloader
I experienced the same thing too.
Just detached battery from your device for about 10 minutes (I pressumed, may need more time)... then do the downgrade again.
in your PC task manager ''end process'' the ff:
''wcescomm.exe''
''WCESMgr.exe''
''rapimgr.exe''
now connect again the device and start the reflash...it works for me.
hope this wl help you...
No joy I'm afraid. How can I get it back in bootloader mode when I can't get past the O2 startup screen. Putting in an sd card Doesn't do anything either it is completely dead except for the annoiying but colorful O2 Logo.
Ok, it just turned itself off so I am after turning it back on andnow all I have is a white screen! What is going on? The laptop crashed when it was at 65% in the upgrade proces.
I'll give this taskmanager thing a go and get back to ya.
Thanks for all the help btw!
I have placed a ROM.nb1 on my SD card, but I get a eror with the XDA OS Image Tool. It looks that I can't find any way to get out of the bootloader mode whatever reset I tried. The battery was out for almost 12 hours but this also makes no difference. Is there a other way to flash by SD card or is there a way to reset/upgrade the bootloader mode. I think the bootloader mode hangs or is corrupt.
Regards Marco
I've tried that now and it still won't connect and still the same white screen! Any othere suggestions? Is there anything I can download which would force a connection or install something onto my XDA or does anyone know how I can get past this blank screen and maybe get to the settings window?
This must have happened other people anyone managed to fix this?
:!: :!:
hey power kite! It seems we got similar problems but your a bit ahead in getting it fixed. Can you tell me where you got the Rom.nb1 file so I can give this XDA tool thing a go?
What kinda power kite you got BTW?
Here is the link where I get the NB1 file

Great that it worked for you.
I did procedure 1, 2 and 3 but I'm still stuck in bootloader mode. Every upgrade WM2005, WM2003SE wich I have flashed before give me an error 112. I have flashed my SD card but I don't get any instructions on my screen.
Is it possible to install the bootloader again or upgrade it. I think my problem is the bootloader.

stuck on 95% and can't upgrade/downgrade

hi everybody..
i've got a serious problem..
here's the story..
i was trying to upgrade to the touch v7 by mr. gullum.
after downgrading my prophet to the no vendor id rom, i upgraded my device to the touch v7.
next i tried to hard reset my prophet, realised that i can't do it cuz my camera button is not working.
went to a phone repair shop and fixed the button..the solder was..loose? i mean, the thing was unconnected from the pcb.
fixed it and tried to hard reset again.
black screen of hard reset appeared, but when i released the comm button, it went straight to the white screen showing os ver and ipl, spl ver.
tried to hard reset again and failed, it entered the white screen where we can restore rom dumps..i immediately pressed the comm button and camera button again..and it started formatting the bnfs..thing?
still can't do hard reset, tried to flash the no vendor id again, and this is the problem..i get stuck on 95% and after that it jumps to 100% straight away.
tried to flash gullum's touch v7 but i got the message that no device detected...tried pv 5.0.0.0.5b, pv 4.00.0.6, nanoscopic all with same result...
anyone can help?
oh maybe this will help:
when i tried to flash the no vendor id again, what shows up is this..(see attachment) the from image version is blank..
on the 95% where i get stuck, the progress bar on my device turns red as when it happens on the 80%.
thank you, everybody...

In my experience, what you describe is very normal . The RUU seems to stop at 80% and again at 95%. So far nothing out of the ordinairy.
But after that the device should start up and reconnect with ActiveSync. When it tries to pair choose "connect without setting up your device" (or something like that, I'm translating from dutch). After that, it should be no problem to run Upgrade.bat from the WM6 ROM of your choice.
For more detailed describtion, read the upgrade guide.
try any of this roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316062)... maybe you have spl 3.08???
it's not that..
hi there,
it's not that usual mistake people make..i think i've screwed my hardware too..
now, my previous problem was unable to hard reset because my camera button was not working..the solder was loose..
i've soldered it and the problem was after every succesful attempt to flash 'no vendor id' rom, it resets and goes to bootloader screen again (tricolor screen)..
late last nite, i tried to hard reset after succesful flash of 'no vendor id' rom (after it resets and enters the bootloader screen)..i succeeded to get into the black screen of hard reset but when i released the comm button, it went straight into the htc white screen without me being able to press any button at all..
everything went well though, and it went to the 'tap screen to set up your device'..at this point i tried to flash the 'nanoscopic' rom (last rom i use before i messed up this phone)..it went well!
after succesful attempt, i tried to hard reset again (no luck again), but after the htc screen shows up, the nanoscopic splash screen appeared!!!
whew, i thought i had my phone fixed already, but when i did a clear storage, it resets and enters into bootloader screen again! i tried soft reset via software and via manual way, and it enters the bootloader screen everytime!
now, i've fiddled some more and i now realise that just by pressing the comm button and doing soft reset can make me go into the bootloader screen..i'm guessing that the technician at the phone shop soldered wrongly...and now my comm button works as camera button too..
i think he accidentaly soldered some other button too to the comm button and that's why i always get into the htc white screen after i release the comm button in the black screen of hard reset..
i'm going to go back to the shop again after work today, but i'm still confused about the way my device enters bootloader after every reset (hard reset and soft reset)..
a friend gave an opinion that maybe, like in desktop, (there's the bios then there's the operating system), the 'bios' of my device is ****ed up?
any help greatly appreciated!
another possibility
another possibility is that my camera button is always pressed and therefore i need only press comm button and soft reset to get into hard reset screen?
i'm gonna check after work today..

i think your camera button connection is short (always pressed down) if you get to hard reset screen by only pressing the comm manager button.
hmm...
too bad..yesterday the technician was out of tow..think i'll go there again this afternoon after work..
wish me luck..
NVID Success
I've got the camera button fixed, and i've flashed the NVID rom succesfully!
i'm now in the process of flashing the Transformer 1.0 by Cloudyfa..

Plz help

I tried to upgrade ny Orange SPV M 600
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.10.0001
with wm6_smart1_v1.3 using ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.zip and now its not booting up it stuck up with the three color boot loader screen and i tried hard to hard reset but even after keep pressing the camera and communication button together and pressing the soft reset button with stylus for more than one minute it gave no response plz help its my friends phone and I am doomed if I cant make it up working.
If you disable the connect through USB option in ActiveSync, and then put the SPV in bootloader. Then flash it with a AKU2.2 ROM (Any will do including PV temp), then follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310452.
How do i put SPV in boot loader????
AKU2.2 ROM where do i find this the link(rapidshare) which is given in thread u told is not working and plz tell me if I will have to download a new rom after that or this wm 6.0 by smart1 will work
Hold the Camera button, and insert the stylus into the larger of two holes on the edge of the SPV with the power connector.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Prophet_Hardreset_bootloader
ya i tried this by reading the thread u mentioned but it puts me back on the same three color screen however I have been able to hard reset and after I press send it said formating FAT something like this
You must enter the bootloader (three colour screen), Then set ActiveSync to not connect through USB (ActiveSync->Settings->connection Settings), Plug the phone into your computer through USB, Then run any of the RUU's from any Part One of here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308755.
Using the AKU2.2 ROM Update Utility, you should get a basic WM5 ROM. You MUST flash an AKU2.2 ROM before you flash a WM6 (AKU3.5) ROM.
Right now i am downloading this original roam from this link
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Prophet/Prophet-roms/Original-Shipped-ROMs/OrangeUK/
will this do????
Can I directly install AKU 2.20 after downloading or will I have to do anything more like putting some file in boot loader which u just said???
I dont want WM 6 anymore plz just advice in steps what I should do to get my phone up and running..............
Put the phone in bootloader, change the active sync settings, and then run the upgrade program!
Good Luck!

It will do no harm, and there is a high chance it will work.
The RUU is fairly self explanatory-Double click on it and do what it says. The battery charge level is not a problem, so long as there is some charge.
Thanks a lot dude it worked I am relieved now
Thanks again boss
Salute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear it
If you now feel experienced enough to upgrade properly, read this thread very carefully http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310452 (or at least the first post) and then this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308755
atleast for now i dont have courage.............
This phone belongs to my bro and currently he is out on vacation and when he will come back i thought it will be a surprise that his phone become so good anyways no risk anymore..........
may be next time on my phone only
Well atleast he shouldn't notice the change.
Finally I have been able to upgrade to WM 6.0 using PDAViet Rom 4.0.0.0.5 and its working like charm. I checked everything including IR Bluetooth WIFI all are working fine no problem at all.
Battery consumption rate is a bit high but not alarmingly high.
Thanks Boss without your advice it would not have been possible at all

can´t go to bootloader

Hi all
I know that there's millions of threads about this but believe me I've read them all and nothing seems to work for me.
I'm trying to upload a new room in my prophet but as soon as the mobile reboot nothing else happens. I've got a black screen and nothing else.
I've tried all the key combinations to reach the bootloader I even tried to run bootloader.exe directly from the mobile but nothing.
At this moment I'm pretty stuck with the room I've got and I really want to change it , any advice ?
I've tried:
camera+softreset
Commanager+softreset
in both cases I kept press the camera and commanager botton .
I've also tried other combination but without the behaviour expected.
Thanks in advance
Look forward your reply
All the best
Pedro
Turn the device on, whilst it is booting try holding the comm manager button and do a soft reset.
Try performing a hard reset (hold BOTH the camera and the comm manager buttons and soft reset), to see if you get text displayed. Don't bother actually doing one.
What ROM do you have at the moment? Have you tried unlocking (sim) your device? Have you used hardSPL or SoftSPL? What numbers are shown after the device boots up (red text in the top left of the screen)?
I´m using Shadow_My_Edition_2_no_DualSIM.
I've used HardSPL
ipl 2.9.000.1
spl 2.g4.4pda
gsm 02.47.21
os 5.2.20.21
I've started facing this issue only after this room has been uploaded, other odd thing that my prophet is doing is that the prophet only reboot if it is connected to the usb port in my laptop or to the charger directly, otherwise it enters in a continuous reboot.
I'm trying to get rid of this room but I'm not able to ....
maybe solution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=292667
try my solution for that kind of problems connect it to charger as described and then do a flash of a basic rom.
possibly u flashed a wong rom
Hi
That was a great solution, fortunately I there was no need to get so far .
Guess what I've changed the USB cable and the flashing procedure went as expected.
It´s kind of strange the behavior that my was getting but now I'm track again , ready to flash and test some rooms.
Thanks all for your replies.
BR
Pedro
