Nokia -> miniUSB adapter - Touch Cruise Accessories

Does there exist charger adapter from nokia(older=bigger) to htc miniusb? I have those nokia chargers everywhere and it's easier to buy adapter than buy whole bunch of new chargers.

htc use extUSB which is the same thing as normal miniusb
apart from they carry audio
so if you can find a whatever nokia connector to any miniusb
converter
as long as the nokia dont provide more then 5volts
or it will fry your phone

So there is a such adapter?
Does nokia say which voltage do they use in those adapters?

try google for the nokia adaptor name
and write miniusb after
all charges i ever seen for any device which used chargers
had written what volt they provides on the charger itself

Maybe there is somewhere, but i don't order from abroad because i'm so careful.
Only adapter i found, is that nokia's old to new version.

most phone makers seem to have agree'd on using miniusb chargers maybe the "nokia new" is just that

nokia new is the tiny little round thing they switched to from the old so dont'bother. no clue about the rest though.

I have found one on Ebay
I bought two of them on Ebay. Try searching for something like this:

Car charger ?

Does anyone know if the car charger for P3300, P3600, HTC Tytn, HTC Tytn II fits our TC?
It's somehow weird that the connection socket on the TC doesn't look like Standard MiniUSB but the cables originally provided are all standard MiniUSB !
This original universal car charger from HTC is known as HTC Car charger CC100 and fits all smartphones mentionned.

I don't know much about car chargers but if all they do is charge then the connectors should be compatible. Physical compatibility of actually getting the unit into the cradle is another matter though.
The connection socket on the TC is called extUSB (which I think might be proprietary to HTC) but it is physically based on the miniUSB connector and this is why a standard miniUSB cable will plug into a TC and how you can charge it and ActiveSync it off your PC.
The main row of pins are identical for both the miniUBS and extUSB connectors so when you plug a miniUSB plug into the extUSB socket on the TC then the TC will see the power lines and the data in/out lines exactly where it expects them and this is enough for charging and syncing.
The ext bit in extUSB is that HTC has added an extra row of pins to the connector in addition to the standard miniUSB pins. These extra pins are for the headphone channels, the mic input (which doubles as the FM aerial) and the talk/hangup switch.
Here is a link to the pinout: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2006/09/10/htc_hermes_usb_connector_pin_config
I think this pinout is constant across HTC devices (at least fairly recent ones). I can certainly confirm that my Artemis wired headset works with my TC.

I'm using a 5-year old Motorola MpX200 car charger with my Touch Cruise. Works like a charm So I guess any generic miniUSB charger will do the job.

I can confirm that too... all standard minUSB car chargers work flawlessly with Polaris.
I bought the HTC Car Safety Pack this morning. For 65,- EUR I got a the car charger with MiniUSB (standard on all recent HTC models), window mounting kit + TC holder, HTC BH M200 Bluetooth headset + accessories .... and a yellow safety jacket !!!
Car Charger
Yes the O2 supplied car charger that I used on my Orbit 1 works fine
Does somebody know where to get a car charger which can get the power from behind the dashboard (using 2 wires to connect) instead of the cigarette lighter?
I don't like the wires hanging in front of my dashboard nor the large cigarette plug. Have googled around but can't find anything.
Alex,
I visited Halfords recently and asked that question. They will build it in behind the dashboard for about 30 euros. Any 12V extUSB/miniUSB carcharger will work as long as the output is 5V.

Kwabbernootje,
I visit Halfords (in Verray) yesterday and they have no clue about the service you mentioned. Halfords appears to be split into own affiliates and franchisers.
Where is the Halfords shop located that offers the service you mentioned?

European Hero - US Wall Charger?

Hey all, I'm planning on getting a Hero online since I do not like Sprint's version.
I was wondering what you US users that imported the Hero use to charge your Hero via wall charger. Old iPhone charger? Old G1 charger? If not, did you buy one from somewhere? Any recommendations are welcome!
Thank you!
USB? (And I think the USB-to-wall-thingie came with a changable wall-piece
You can use a mini usb to recharge the phone. I just used my old blackberry mini usb wall charger rather than buying a new one. It will also work plugged into the computer but it takes too long to charge that way.
g1 charger will do fine
The charger supplied with the European Hero handles 100-240V 50-60HZ so you should be ok with just a converter plug. The original charger also has a replaceable wall-piece which can be fitted with plugs as necessary. It only comes with one depending on the market where it is purchased, but there's at least Euopean, UK and US plugs available.
Then there's the option of using any USB charger on the market.

International USB Charger Recommendations?

I have been searching high and low for a good international USB charger for my TP2 (and other devices). I've found several, but reviews tend to be either mixed or non-existent.
My dream gizmo is something very compact and lightweight that can be jammed into almost any wall outlet in the world, which I can then plug a USB cable into and charge my TP2 (and ideally other stuff which can be charged with a standard USB cable).
Do any of you fine forum folks have suggestions? Or at least warnings for which products to avoid?
Well, when I travel I have a universal travel adaptor (ie it can fit into any power plug), and I plug into that the USB charger that came from HTC. Or I charge from my laptop.
HTC itself sells an international charger kit, but if you're going to multiple countries, it just means extra weight.

Just about any USB charger that has a 5.0V output should do fine. I use the same one that charges my iPod to charge various gadgets.
I picked up a nice one on one of Cathy Pacific's flights. They also sell them on their site.

Oh! I also have iGO laptop charger and various adapters. iGo works great.

Tilt 2 Accessories I Received from HTCDepot with mini-USB

Hi All. I just received a bunch of accessories I ordered from HTCDepot. I have one issue that I am concerned about.
One of the AC wall chargers and also the car charger that I bought from them has the standard mini-USB connector, not the funny-shaped proprietary form that is on our Tilt 2s. However it does fit the jack easily without any force and there is no slippage after engaged. And when I called HTCDepot they confirmed that although it does not have the proprietary shape of the Tilt 2 jack that it is indeed compatible. Is this true? They are both HTC OEM products. Here they are on the HTCDepot web site:
http://www.htcdepot.com/htc-travel-charger/5A17A5576.htm
AND
http://www.htcdepot.com/htc-car-charger/5A47A1441.htm
ExtUSB (HTC's proprietary jack) is reverse compatible with most if not all Mini USB accessories... The power adapter should work fine...
The subject has been discussed many times. Just do a search and you can see what the proprietary plug will do that the min plug won't. I think it is all audio stuff if memory serves me.
Just to confirm, you can charge with the min plug. No prob.

Cant get car charger to work... any ideas?

hi,
I've got a couple of micro usb car chargers I bought to charge my old samsungs.... but they dont charge my X10.
I've shorted pins 2 and 3 on one of them( d+ and d-) as per this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696760&page=2
but it's still not charging my x10, if anything the battery is being drained quicker when plugged in to the car charger
the label states the output on the charger i have shorted is 4.2- 10v @ 600mA, 750mA max
is there something I am missing?
edit: I've read some of the charging threads and discovered the li-poly battery protection circuit is stopping my cheap chargers from working, so it looks like I need to buy genuine sony (Sony an300), I wonder if this is deliberate on sony's part? I thought the whole point of standardising phone chargers to micro usb - is so that they don't go to waste every time you buy a new phone?
I found that using the original micro USB cable (Or a good quality one) and one of these -> Car USB Outlet works better than buying an adapter with the cable already attached.
Such was the case with my X1 and X2 as well.
These newer gen ones are around 700mA instead of 500mA.

Hi
I have one of these from Blue unplugged. go to blueunplugged dot com. in the quickcode type 139166. It is a 'Santok STK Car Charger With 1A USB Port'
I worked on my old X1 and with a micro usb cable it works on my X10 too.
I previously had a different device. It got very hot when I was on the phone and using satnav. This one is great. Its not missed a beat.
I think this is the cable, Quickcode 138344. Please check before purchasing though!
sorry can't post URLs.

I use my Motorola car charger and it works fine when my phone has some juice left in the battery. the first time I tried to use it the battery was completely flat and the charger would not work well, though

I bought that one, and it doesn't work with my X10. I have tried other USB devices, and the charger works.
After contacting the vendor (e-cell) they are going to send me another unit, free of charges. But I am not sure if it will work, either.

I bought one the other week to try, it doesn't work with the standard SE cable.
The light on the actual plug comes on but nothing indicates it being plugged in on the phone itself.
I've found no 3rd party in-car chargers work with the X10 and after reading all the problems people had here, I just went and bought an official Sony Ericsson one of eBay for £15. Works perfectly
I think you have to have one that has an output of exactly 700 mAp.
I've tested with higher and lower amperage and nothing worked.
I grabbed an SE AN300 off Play.com and it works with no issue. Looks like I made a trouble-free choice.
