HTC shift car holder now for sale at proclip - Shift Accessories

I recently sold my shift I loved the device but just didn't fit my needs. But i still support the community.
I guess all our requests to the company paid off. I know one of our fellow forum members lives near the company in California and Proclip told him they had no plans to make one - They lied to you.
I just got an email from proclip and I double checked the website. They sure do have them.
$29.99 or $39.99 for the holder plus the cost of mount for your car. It looks like they have two different options fixed or with a modle with a adjustable tilt.

thanks for the info ive been waiting for this one FOREVER !!!!!

Photos of ProClip Mount for the Shift
Here is what my new ProClip mount looks like in my BMW. It was an easy install as it is with everything from ProClip. The only drawback is that they did not do anything for the keyboard. You can open the keyboard but it then gets pretty sloppy in the mount. Still, for under $40 US, not a bad deal. Enjoy the pics.

PROBLEMS PROBLEMS !!
ATTENTION : THIS CARHOLDER OF PRO-CLIP HAS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW !!:
If you try and use this holder with the Shift, and the shift has an SD Card inserted, youre pretty much f******
There's no way the shift will slide in easily because the SD card is 1 millimeter wider than the shift, and about 0,5 millimeter wider than the power on/off slider.
Inserting the shift in the holder doesn't work well with SD inserted, one has to press the SD firmly to let the Shift slide in. When slided in, the SD is under pressure from the side of the holder.
When taking the shift out, the SD card is ejected like a ejection seat in a F-22 !! It looks funny and if the holder wasn't 40 euro, I would be laughing my ass off.
It's clear that during design phase, they forgot to enter a SD card.
I will show and post the modification manual later on today, but as for now this holder is totally useless if you use a Shift with SD card.

Wizard case that takes credit cards

Has anybody found a credit card enabled Wizard case?
The closest I've seen is the Krusell case - www.krusell.se - but this is just too small...
This is seriously hampering my impulse gadget buying!

Not a good idea. If you have the credit cards next to the PDA the GSM transmitter could erase the magnetic stripe.
Not forgetting that the Wizard uses a magnet for rotating the screen...

Hmmm...I've been using an XDA2 for 2 years with credit cards in a Krusell case. Have not had any probs with demag of cards from GSM transmitter of XDA2...so why would this one?
Where is the magnet situated for landscape?
This too is the thing which is holding up my switch from xda2 to Wizard...hope somebody makes a case with that in mind.
To anyone in or out of the US, we have a show called mythbusters on the discovery/learning channel. They did a test on credit cards and found that it takes quite a bit to clear/damage the data on the mag strip (the new credit cards especially (ya know, anything past 1990)). Hope it helps!
the only magnetic strip i ever had that got erased by my phone was a room key at a hostel in Melbourne. Most hotels throw them away after one use, but this cheap hostel reused them to keep costs down and constant reprogramming made them tempermental. If I forgot and shoved that key into my pocket with my T28 I would have to get it reprogrammed everytime.
I had a magentic money clip which ate credit card strips if I dropped it onto the wrong pocket. Mind you, that was a long time ago, and it was a strong magent. I've always kept credit cards in the case next to my other XDAs without problems.
I've been using the Krussell case for the Wizard for a couple of months now, and it's great.
A really good clip and release mechanism, well crafted, and it now takes 3 credit cards after a bit of stretching. Easily the best case I've ever had.
I have had cards (lotsa cards with mag strip) in my wallet which also have a contact-less card. If you know the workings behind the contact-less card, you would know that there is a magnetic field on the reader that gives your card the power to process and send the signal. I think that would be much stronger than a mobile phone signal and also the freq would be much lower, hence easier to disstort any magnectic strip. However, I have been using the card for 2 years+ everyday and I don't have problems with my creditcards.
BTW, I've did a test on floppy disk on those magnetic telephone book (those that use two pieces of magnet as cover). And it seems impossible to erase the stuff on the disk. I guess you need a much stronger magnet.
Hello. I have used my wizard intensely for about an year or so and I am sad to say its looks are awfull now(i forgot to mention I work in sales and I have a very strong relationship with my phone). As I am from Bucharest, it is very hard for me to find a genuine original case, and not an aluminium or leather protective one. Is there any chance I could find one of those cases and what would the costs be?
Thanx

Credit card mag strip
Mythbusters proved that simple magnets (even neo) eel skin and a lot more things wont affect a magnetic strip. They ended up using a really strong electro magnet and only partially damaged the strip.
Here's one I wouldn't mind parting with.
This one works with the Cingular 8125
It has 2 SD card slots and 2 Credit Card slots on each side of the wallet section.
The only flaw in it is a rip on the side. But it still will function normally, to hold the device.
I would sell it to you for $10.00 US Dollars plus S/H.
If your interested, let me know.

ProClip Shift CarHolder - PROBLEMS !! WATCH OUT !

INFORMATION OUTDATED
BRODIT FIXED THEIR STUFF - SENT ME A BEAUTIFUL REPLACEMENT WITH SUGGESTED MODIFICATION - WELL DONE BRODIT
If you try and use this holder with the Shift, and the shift has an SD Card inserted, youre pretty much f******
There's no way the shift will slide in easily because the SD card is 1 millimeter wider than the shift, and about 0,5 millimeter wider than the power on/off slider.

Thank you very much for the info. Makes me feel bad coz my order was shipped yesterday. But I guess some modification should be able to sort that out.
Now that info has me thinking....... Is the Shift USB port accessible with the shift inserted in the holder? What about the DC-in charging port? Can you insert/remove the stylus with the Shift inserted in the holder?
If the USB and Charging ports are not accessible expect some huge fire at the ProClip factory/offices. I think the lawyers and prosecutors call that kind of thing ARSON!!!!!!
chill...
Your USB and power ports are accessible.
The modification is pretty straightforward, one must cut out a line of 1 millimeter deep, where the SD Card touches the side of the plastic.
Very strange they missed it..
I just bought this item and I also noticed this problem.
I called Brodit here in Sweden. The guy I spoke with was going to address this issue with the production unit (also located in Sweden), so hopefully there will be a production correction for this issue.
The product code is "HTC Shift holder, Item no 848837", but I'm sure you all knew that.
Personally I'm going to use my Dremel to make a small modification.
Have you tried using the holder with the Shift screen extended straight up (keyboard visible)?
I tried that at home yesterday evening and it seems that the Shift actually stays in the holder, albeit it's a little bit wobbly (could tilt forward or backward a little bit).
Imagine if Brodit could modify the holder so that the lower front corner parts of the holder had some kind of button you could drepress (on one or both sides) so that a piece of rubber (or plastic) would keep the Shift in place when the screen had been extended?
I think this is a great idea! I'm going to email Brodit about my "invention"!
they will probably not...
I doubt if Brodit will do the adaptation, and I doubt if we get a new one for free.
This device is not really a hit... so not too many holders will be sold.
It would be of the highest service if they'd send us (first few buyers) a replacement.
Cheers
About the SD-card: the guy at Brodit told me to send the holder back to them, but I told him that I'd rather do the modification (cut out a line) myself.
He was eager to know what the problem was, and he would make sure that the production was alerted about the problem.
Regarding my idea, I did send him a mail about it, but I doubt that they would put energy and time into such a modification for a "low series" product.
I'm the guy who started this thread, actually, Brodit has contacted me.
They have ordered their own HTC Shift (which they did not have before....)
Brodit will do some tests and adapt the design for it. They make everything themselves. I hope they will be so kind as to send us the replacement, as the old one's are obsolete as soon as they produce the 2nd gen.
Brodit is a large, professional company, I thnk they will change the design and help us out.

UPDATE :
A free replacement with the modifications has been sent by courier to my house...
Thank you BRODIT !! JOB WELL DONE !! http://www.brodit.se
I emailed my contact at Brodit a couple of weeks ago (after lucid's message about being contacted by Brodit) to let them know how much I appreciate the fact that they contacted you lucid, plus the fact that I wanted to know if they planned more changes than the SD-card cutout, and the answer was that the only planned modification was the SD-card cutout.
Since then I have noticed that the holder has been removed from the Swedish site (although it's still on proclipusa.com)...but since lucid has a new one coming I'm sure it will return with a new item number on the Swedish site soon.
Lucid, could you please let us know what the modification is. If the mod is more than a SD-card groove then I'll return my holder to Brodit to have it replaced (I havn't modified my holder yet).
They fixed what was wrong, nothing more or less
They made the mod. as requested, a very small indentation at the spot the SD-card locks up against the side. Nothing more. I mean, I can't find any more errors or annoyances...
Smooth as a baby. Error corrected by Brodit in very professional matter!
What else do you want changed ?
I currently use my Shift in the car, sometimes with screen extended and sometimes not...and when extended it's kinda' wobbly. I spoke to Brodit about this and they would not do such a mod right now...but it would have been nice if they had!
I have a friend working with car safety development (airbags and such), and he often contacts Brodit to have special mounting solutions made for different equipment, and Brodit delivers those custom mounts...so I agree with you that Brodit acts very professionally.

ProClip Holders are now available!!

For those of you waiting for the ProClip car holder for your TP2 or Tilt2, they are now available.
ProClip
No, I'm not affiliated with this company in anyway, I just love these holders, and have been waiting impatiently.
I like that it allows it to slide open while being held, but it also doesn't hold it with a case on, so it's a non-starter for me.
I like to go with a car-specific mount from Panavise & a holder from Arkon.
I've got the pro-clip holder on order. I've had one for my Tilt and Fuze, and they are solid.
The device specific holder actually mounts onto a car specific mount. In my case, it attaches next to the shifter in my S2000. And yes it does suck that you can't use a case. But I prefer film type protectors like InvisibleShield to keep the bulkiness of the device to a minimum.

They actually come branded with both names on them (ProClip and Brodit). If it's been available for months, then that's news to me. I've always purchased through ProClip, and they just became available on their site.

They've been available for GSM TP2's for a while not CDMA, at least not if you wanted the powered one. Its Brodit over on your side of the pond but its called Proclipusa over here. You guys got it first because the phone came out for you earlier.
The only one available for the CDMA version on their site is the non powered version which is the same exact clip as used for the GSM version. I'm beginning to wander if they are even going to make a powered version. There are good non powered clips made for this phone that are a third the price. $35 bucks for what they are offering is quite frankly a ripoff.
I am excited to see the ProClip finally appearing, but I'm hesitant to buy. I know there have been smatterings of this discussed elsewhere, but my main concern is sliding a holder into a groove that doesn't quite exist.
There is no gap between my phone and my keyboard. Forcefully wedging a piece of plastic in there will clearly create one, but that doesn't make it a good idea.
Those of you that have been using these for years don't seem to have any issues with this, but I need some assurances that this won't compromise the slider component over time.
Since I personally have no reason to slide the keyboard out while mounted in my vehicle, I would strongly prefer a holder exactly like this, but one the entire phone slides into, not just the keyboard part. Does that exist? (And no, not a bulky universal one.) Already have that and thumbs down...
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have the one for my original Tilt. The phone is in and out of the mount 30+ time a day. The mount lasted for about 2 months before the beginnings of failure.
One of the thin pieces of plastic on the mount, that slide into the gap between the two halves of the phone started to break off.
It took another month or so before the piece had completely gone. This allowed the phone to fall out rendering the mount useless.
I was able to put a piece of fuzzy Velcro on the mount to wedge the phone securely into place.
Two years later I I still have it. Now its time to order the one for the TP2

Car phone holder - one that works quite well

I've struggled to find a phone holder that works well with the size of my note 3 in a Trident Kraken AMS case.
This one however is inexpensive and works well http://www.wilko.com/car-accessories/rockland-mp3sat-nav-holder/invt/0345172?VBMST=car phone holder
I thought I'd post it up in case it helps anyone.

I love ProClip's holders. You select the custom mount for your car, and then the custom mount for you phone. I've owned several brands of custom clips throughout the years, and I've never been happier.

After having tried several car mounts, I have come to a point where I do not want any snake-type car mount - the ones with extensible, adjustable arm ... with time, and car vibrations, they do not really stick in place, and dangle around a little bit.
Lately I happened to pick a glass screen cover from xtreme guard where they offered promotional Flozu car mount + a 90% discount coupon ... at the end, it was really a deal for the both of them..
I have been using the flozu mount since around 1 month now, very solid, top notch. secure suction locking mechanism, seems to hold much stronger to the windshield than my previous ones. The absense of the extensible arm made it VERY stable in terms of vibration and permanent "dangle" . It holds my note 3 firmly (not strongly) between its pliers, and manipulating the plier to open it is very easy - not complicated spring-loaded buttons to press - which get worse with time - which you see on other models. Seriously recommend.
Here is the link to the Flozu mount:
http://www.xtremeguard.com/product-p/car-mount-flozu.htm
mine came today (Flozu mount), fairly quick standard shipping delivery. I expect it'll do a very good job. At first I thought it was rather pricey ($49.99 USD) but then the 75% off discount code appeared -- can't find anything decent in the stores for $12.75! easy to mount to the windshield, nice firm grip of my unprotected S3 (countdown to upgrade: 3days). I'll update after having used it awhile.

I use mountek products. one of the most stable products to use by locking it in your cd slot or between the dash crevices. Great as some states may not allow suction cup mount on glass.
http://www.mountek.com/shop/
Airframe+
I use the Kenu Airframe+. Mounts in the vent and holds really well. Also works as a kick stand since it's small and you can carry it around with you with you're not in the car.
Best mounting system I've ever owned, but it's not cheap.

I use this holder for my Note 3. Its been good for a year now and cheap.
Can twist it for landscape or portrait and can hold any phone as most of us use cases on our phones it will fit any phone... One problem is your car will need to have strong vents and not too deep directors inside as the back will need to grip onto those.
EBay number item number 311275702025 check can't post link as I'm a new member.
Masik v6.0 lollipop Note 3 N9005
I just bought my second one of these. Super sturdy and the suction cup has a gooey material on it that literally will stick to just about anything!
second this!

I've had this mount for around 2 years and I love it! 2 of my friends got it after they saw mine.
I hardly ever use my CD changer but it still functions normally if you do.
In my car it puts the phone in the perfect place. Here's a few pictures of it in my car so you know how it looks.
Hello
In the past I used only phone specific holders like proclip. Works fine but expensive. Now the kids want to use the car too so I changed to an universal holder.
Now I use http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-HOL-UN7BU
Fits the s4 mini and my Note 3 too.
Besides the holder you'l need:
Ball base http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-202U
Arm: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-201U-A (various lengths available).
Not cheap but you by it once.

I got a simple silicon mat on ebay - sticks like glue to the dash and you can just slap the phone on it (gently) and it sticks even on bumpy roads. And if it gets dusty you can just wash it in water - works brilliantly and cost me about $5
Looks a little like these but the 'bumps' aren't so noticeable on mine.
ProClip
I've used ProClip mounts in two different trucks with three different phones. I wouldn't use anything else. You buy the mount in two pieces - one piece for the vehicle, that's specific to the vehicle, and where in the vehicle you want to mount the phone. It has tabs that insert into the existing seams of your car's interior. No drilling, no bolts to unscrew, a very clean installation. The other piece you buy for the phone (or tablet, or GPS unit). They have many phone mounts each designed to fit a specific phone - as long as you don't have a case on it. They also have phone mounts that are more universal in nature for those that use a case. Any of the phone mounts will attach to any of the vehicle mounts.
It's expensive - each piece has cost me between $35 and $40, so around $75 when you first buy the system. But if you get a new phone, you only have to replace the phone mount. If you get a new car, you only have to replace the vehicle mount.
It's a premium mount. It holds your phone firmly in place, and it's a clean , professional looking installation. I think it's worth the cost.
For my Note 3, I've been using the Exogear ExoMount Touch -http://www.exogear.com/products-exomount-touch-one-touch-car-mount-holder.html . The reusable adhesive pad works surprisingly well and it is a cinch putting in and taking out my Note 3, even in my Urban Armor Gear case. Simply put the phone into the mount and the arms snap close around the device, and to remove I just press the release buttons. Easy in, easy out.
The one issue I had was one one occasion the tightening nut cracking, but I think that was as a result of me carelessly over-tightening on one occasion. The company quickly sent me a free replacement, however.

Not sure where you are, but mine's been through some pretty hot days with the car parked in the sun and no problems. Silicon shouldn't melt - it melts around 1400ÂșC - if your car is getting that hot you'd have to be approaching the Sun I think. Maybe yours was plastic?
Just check my history on dx.com, and yes, it seems you were right, it was PVC, must say I didn't check that as it said made for car dashboard.
Anyway, just be careful what you buy.

I second the RAM mounts. I use the cupholder version, then the ball arm, and the X clip. I can even swap out the attachment with my medium/large RAM holder that fits a nexus 7, or my large holder that fits an ipad air. Ram mounts aren't cheap, but they're versatile and built to last. I'll never need to buy another mount system again, unless I find a really oddball device in the future and need a new attachment for the Ram.
I finally found the perfect mount for my taste. Universal + with charge function.
http://www.1a-pc-shop.de/shop/hr-30417-universal-smartphone-charging-dock.html
You cand adjust the x and the z axis of the power connector holder at the bottom. There are 5 adapters included for different cables. Works very well with my usb 3.0 car charger. Silicon case no problem.
Now I just slide in the Note 3 and it charges. And this should work for many devices to come.

Bonus items from HTC - Taiwan only

Hi guys,
I purchased my U ultra in Taiwan about 3 weeks ago. My cousin (who lives there) sent on a gift pack that I received as a result of the purchase of the phone.
It was presented nicely in a big box, (no pics cuz I asked him to dump it for shipping's sake).
Here are the items:
https://goo.gl/photos/iJAfArr95rLYsdkv8
https://goo.gl/photos/4TKmQApML5AGyhis5
Case is made well, smells of rich leather. Has multiple card slots inside, with 2 larger full length slits, for folded bills, or receipts. On the rear of the case is another card slot, perfect for travel cards, or a tap and pay credit card.
https://goo.gl/photos/M9n51Ku7Kw5Yzp1K8
Best of the three is the powerbank imo. Supports QC 3.0.
Very nice! I like that power bank.
is there anyway to get those for the international version I really wanna get both lol idc how much it is as long as its below 60$ case I just prefer HTC man equipment with my phone
Got mine from HK - got that pack too. Key chain, power bank with usb-A to usb-C cable & the leather flip case
