[MOD]TouchFlo 2D On Athena... - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo Upgrading

Actually this is a modifying thread for TF2D (TouchFlo 2D)! So maybe some experts can help and make this into VGA compatible then all the Athena users can use this. BTW i have this installed on my device and it works like a charm! But the problem is that it takes only 1/4 of the screen cause its QVGA... I asked Herg (the one who released this as a beta) and he told me that we have to :
1.Dissassemble and reassemble the exe files
2.Making pictures 2 times bigger (actually we can use diamond so we can skip this step)
3.Changin some xml files.
Now I am asking all you guys that can do this to help us and let Athena users taste this thing...
All the credits go to yourselves and definitely Athena users and me appreciate what you'll do for us.

i am interesting in it ,but i really don't know how to modify this software,i ever installed the touchflo3D in my Athena, but it worked so slowly that i couldn't accept.
so i will look forward to ur released either.

I myse;f really dont know how to mod the exe and dll files but I know what are the tools and (maybe) the steps... but I can really help with graphic files and other stuff but I dont know programming and other stuff.... Need some experts, who can play with exe files

Help
Hi Guys, as an x7510 owner I would like to see touchflo 2d ported to vga too and I may help with it too, right now I have some work to finish but hopefully in a few days I should be able to have a look on things till then could someone get me a "build" or "zip" that contains the original Diamond pictures (or point me to one) as those all already at vga mode so why redo something that already exists and then I could focus on the other changes.
If someone already picked up this work and got to somewhere please let me know so we combine our forces

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427531
suggests editing the XML will allow different screen sizes.

I created a new thread on this subject which should cover this request too, please post your comments there as it is not just HTC Athena but all HTC VGA devices should work with it:

It is very simple, go to the last thread linked, there is a post there that tells you what to do, you download the original m2d, whatever the lastest version is. then after installing you overwrite the files with the VGA ones to the windows folder..
I've just re-read the topic and it makes sense to me.
It's very easy to do.
0---------
Installations / Download
To install please follow the steps found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173 <--- basically get the last file listed and install it from here, otherwise the original poster will have to redo is post everytime the other thread is updated.
and after you have everything up and running (even in the little left corner of your screen but working) then go to "Start->Settings->Today->Items" and uncheck "TouchFlo" press OK then download this zip file and extract the content to \Windows\ directory on your device.
TouchFlo2D VGA - Ver. 0.1.3
http://rapidshare.com/files/15138227...0.1.3.zip.html
Then go back to "Start->Settings->Today->Items" and check "TouchFlo" again press ok and the full resolution TouchFlo should appear.
IMPORTANT: It seems with the latest Manila2d release (1.00...) the files are installed in read only state so you won't be able to overwrite the files unless you remove the Read only state from the files which are all files in \Windows directory starting with HH_..... and HTCHomeSettings.xml and then all files in \Windows\ManilaGFX
----
You need a proper file program, the one that's built into windows mobile is pants. It can't overwrite files in rom or read only.
I'm presuming since you have an athena you know something about windows mobile, these aren't novice devices, if you don't then I'd really really advise you to do some reading.
For the sake of ease, download total commander, it's free and very powerful, search the forum using the search at the top and you'll find millions of links to it.
In /windows folder after installing the original m2d (not the VGA version) using total commander, select SHOW>select/unselect files> type in hh* and everything beginning with those will appear selected, While they are selected (highlighted) press FILE>properties and untick the readonly box.
Do the same to all the files in /windows/manillagfx
Now open where ever you saved the vga files and copy the entire lot across to windows, and accept overwrite all

@fards thx a lot.. very detailed description so even I managed to install manila 2d

TF2D Feedback
Moderator - I am posting here as my comments are based on use on X7501 with factory ROM, if this is an incorrect place please mirror to appropriate section - there are too many to choose from!
First impression on update 20 - EXCELLENT WORK EVERYONE!
Overall device performce only slightly reduced, all programs work as before, touchflo finger slider on bottom works very smoothly.
The Home, People, Messages, Mail, Weather, Maps Search, Settings and Programs Tabs ALL work Perfectly!
Feedback for next update on Tabs.
Internet - Can a GUI selection of browser be incorporated so registry edit is not necessary to change default browser? So one can choose IE, factory Opera or other.
Photos and Videos - Pictures do not flip with finger swipe & picture takes up one quarter of frame
Audio Manager - Library and Player screen uses only top left quarter of screen, the rest is scrambled static in library and black in player. In Library, the text does not refresh in static area, and piles up into solid bar. Would it be easier (or possible) to simply link to media player 10 like HTC Home, get rid of audio manager, then redundant software is not needed?
With these updates it would work perfectly as if OEM.

Are you running successfully in Landscape?
Hi anx7501. I have a x7510 and have also loaded the Manila ver 20 and then pijulius TouchFlo for VGA devices over the top. However, I have had limited success in getting the screen to show as I would like in landscape.
Beacuse of the size of the clock and lack of space in landscape I've been trying to recode the HTCHomeSettings.xml so that Alarm, Call History and Calendar will all continue to show in Portrait, but only Calendar shows in Landscape leaving room for the Tabs along the bottom. I have atempted to do that by editing the lines for Alarm and Call History by inserting zeros thus: <Property name="IDHMWG_MISSEDCALLBTN_RECT" id="30" value="24,304,456,364, 0,0,0,0" /> but alas it is not working.
Have you managed to "crack the code" on this, or come up with an alternative solution - maybe a smaller clock?
Also have you found any alternative skins that will brighten up the device from the basic black?
Finally for some reason my Brightness slider is stuck in the left position. I don't remember this being the case when I had Manila ver 17 loaded. Does your slider work OK?

Hi robjhellis,
Regarding the landscape issue, because this was created for device like diamond with puny screen, it was intended for portrait so I haven't bothered to play with it, also landscape requires an extensive redraw in addition to resizing - I just don't have the time. Though someone in another thread has already resized M2D to work in landscape; however, I don't remember if it was for QVGA or VGA, when I find it again I will post the link here.
Try looking at this for landscape mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436753&highlight=m2d+landscape
I have a Mugen Power 2400 mha battery which lasts a full day, sometimes a little more, with factory ROM. With M2D installed, it chewed through the battery in half a day so for that reason I didn't adjust the brightness and left it alone. The programs I concentrated on were graphic intensive like Adobe reader and dwf viewer. After a few days of only half-day use between recharge, I hard reset and went back to HTC-Home VGA which provides similar tabs (weather, programs), dosen't chew through the battery and works in landscape. I think that because of the difference between devices with factory TF2D - ours has to max out CPU & GPU to operate smooth killing the battery. Short of creating new video driver specifically for our ATI chip, I don't think there's a workaround - btw how's your battery life?
There is a thread in Development and Hacking with M2D skins posted, try there and see if you find something you like.
I really like what I saw and admire the work evryone did, but I rely on my advantage heavily and didn't want to have to recharge or change battery at lunch - sadly I had to drop it. Hope you had/have better luck with yours.

Thanks for your follow-up. I discoverd that the Brightness slider issue was a known bug for vers. 20 & 21 of manila. A fix patch has been created and appended to post 2 (the fixes post) on the manila thread.
As for mbarvian's work on landscape, whilst its great work it does not appear to do anything for us on the VGA advantage/athena. With nthe keyboard attached I can use the left and right arrow keys to move between pages so that is a definate work around to not havig the tabs showing.

hey do you guys know how to install touch flo on the att 8125

WM6 first impressions

I will be willing to answer any questions you have regarding wm6
my first impressions of it are pretty good... its running quite stable on my athena with apps installed
-spb mobile shell (does not work if autohide is disabled)
-spb brain evolution
-spb diary (installing this did significantly slow it down)
-wisbar advance beta 4
-resco explorer
-resco keyboard
-ae button plus
-wm5storage
-htc audio plugin
there are some more but im copying some files so i cant use the phone
intially its very very fast... much faster than wm5 noticbly so
It does seem to support native vga as in device info the resolution is listed at 640x480
i dont however see the terminal client for remote login... i could be lookin in the wrong place? i dunno
the included dialer skin / theme is quite nice
Everything seems to be working flawlessly i havent tried voip yet...
IE data speeds seem to be significantly faster for me... as compared to wm5
Ill be posting more later once i use it a bit more...
Mind to share Windows Media Player Skin
No issues found yet. The device seems *a lot* snappier, and indeed the GPS fix occurs a lot faster. I now also suddenly have a fix inhouse ... (allbeit near the window). In WM5 that simply would not happen.

no the icon sizes seem the same but when I try to install a qvga skin it takes up the same portion when running previosly in wm5 with truevga mode
so I think it is truevga mode
also while typing the text prediciont works real well
Ergh, can I get rid of the horrible GREEN comm manager?
Other than that, its wm6 again.. Ahh, sigh of releif.
If you change the theme of your device to the windows default and then restart it should get rid of the horrible skin. For some reason mine kept the phone dialler skin until I had restarted again, but now it's not so green any more.
My first impressions are that the device itself runs very well with WM6. So far no real hassles. The only thing I have discovered is that TomTom 6 now thinks my device is a new device so it looks like WM6 has changed the hardware ID. I am still able to use my device. I had to manually active the maps though and the TomTom application for downloading maps and updates won't let me change my device to the 'new' one.

Yep, the buttons are large. I'm not quite with you with the other comment, could you post a screenshot? Have you managed to get the smaller homescreen top/bottom bars without installing VGA hack software?
Apart from that, everything is a lot faster, typing on the keyboard is more responsive and I'm happy, deffo worth it just for the proper email client alone.

well for example if you use a plugin for a qvga device...
it wont fill the screen
it only takes the same amount of screen space as it would on a qvga device
ie about 1/4 of the screen (i would post a pic but i removed the software)
so that leads me to believe its vga
no VoIp
I can't find the option, did you find it?

Hi boinger66,
My main reason for getting the athena is because I do a lot of reading & editing on-the-go mostly pdfs, docs, spreadsheets & powerpoint files. Can you tell me if using these programs with lots of words on-screen (PIE, pdfs, docs, xls) whether there is an increase in the real estate? Is there less scrolling etc, just like you'd see with the vga hacks? Also, are options available to change the resolutions on the fly? Does using the "High Res" option in PIE make a huge difference than before?
Many thanks for your help
Abe.

The IE high resolution and fit to screen do help, but it also makes the test pretty small. As an example, when displaying yahoo.com, and set to high resolution and fit to screen; the whole width of the web page is displayed.

let me answer your questions....
1)there is no increase in real estate vs wm5 except in PIE
2)There no no option to change resolution on the fly
3)Yes it does (Pie and Hi-res)
these comments are based on my experience with uni and not athena but are valid for all VGA devices
Additionally there have been reports that VGA Hacks don't work with the later cores of wm6 (the release candidate)
faster than wm5. i had it on xda exec and when i changed to x7500 I kinda missed it but its back baby.
I was happy to see wm6 yesterday. i bought an iphone to see how it is and i was actually disappointed but wm6 made my day.
Thank you xda-dev.
Guys try using Mvr True VGA 1.2 it works..
i dont think you guys are understanding what i am saying
it is true vga
they just made the icons and buttons the same size for easy viewing
if you make smaller icons you get the realestate increase
for example if you install a qvga plug in it will not work...
it will take up the upper left corner of the screen only ... this can be observed by installing the htc audio manage today screen plugin
"Uni" VGA resolution file may work for Athena
I think some expert developers needs to extract the VGA<->QVGA toggle cab files or setup files from "Universal WM6 ROM" and give a try....
May be it will work for our Athena as well....
What do you guys say?
I was really hoping that new ROM is gonna solve this problem...and we will not have to use TrueVga type hacks...
WM6 is fast
Battery problem still here
The Battery problem is still here. You can see only 10, 20, 30, 40 % .... but never 94 %

In the KAISER section all links and stuff about HTC Album, gestures to manage pictures.
I tested with PK 3.0 ROM an it WORKS at 128 DPI the menus are 1/4 of the screen, but slideshow is in full screen.
Nice app, needs to be "SKINNED" to work for us, od just used at 192 DPI!
In fact, it's necessary to modify the .xml to reskin completly the app....
It's long but work

currently got this running in Portrait 96dpi two columns thumbnails with a preview in the middle of the screen. Still need some work, but I'm getting there.

I second the motion for a 128dpi version but deny the part about old people
Guys you can manage this yourselves.. Not rocket science
change the shortcut to the album, get rid of the mode and other flag.
have a look at the reg entries under hklm/software/htc and see which ones a relevant to you.
change some of the flags in the skin_p xml file, i doubled the w= sizes and the width and height of the thumbnail setting to get a bigger preview.. on that same line you can change the colums and rows.. you may need to change the size of the mask file for preview depending on what you want.
if you look carefully you can change the menus & options etc..
finally delete the skincache .dat and restart the album..(need to do this everytime you change the skin xml).
worst comes to worst you can always reinstall the album cab if you **** up..
so far Ive not been able to get the right hand 3rd of the screen refreshing, if you run with 6 or 7 colums then you can get the outside of the boxes showing on a mouseover, but the way i run mine it leaves a trace of the edge of preview on the screen.
will pop my xml and change mask bmp up in a zip later, just back the originals up.
I haven't tried editting the xml file yet, but I have noticed that when I start the Album, the orientation is inverted lanscape, even if windows is in portrait. There was a file on the original Kaisar thread to start it in a normal orientation, but it doesn't work (or at least not on the Athena anyway)
Anyone know how to get it to start in a right handed landscape orientation, that is, the default for the Athena?
Very nice find by the way, I rarely look outside the Athena forums, so don't find things like this, but I'll be sure to keep a look out now, thanks a lot

I just use the portrait as I can't be bothered with doing two XML files
There's nothing I can see that affects the screen rotation other than the link command -mode:camera in the shortcut, which I got rid of anyway.
Reg entries that seem to make a difference are under hklm\software\htc\touchscroll\htcalbumclass
Enclosed the portrait xml file and picmask, both to go into windows..
**please note these were done for my amusement, and to see what makes a difference, if you don't like em don't moan!
nothing new for me.
everything works perfectly except two things. first, when i open the program it starts upside down. but when i click on a pic it comes up the right way. second how can i tell the program what directory to look in for pics. thanks

Manila Dialer Black text workaround/fix

Unfortunately this is only a workaround but it is an effective and easy solution to an irritating problem ! the idea is to change the background out for a white one so the black text shows !! to that end I have included all the files you need to sort this out !
all you have to do is use the reg editor (task manager) included with ap 4.0 tap on the process's tab and kill a process called cprog.exe (this runs the phone service and has access rights to the files you want to modify). After that copy the included files into the windows folder, i did it whilst using active sync) through browse mobile device on my computer for simplicity after editing the pics.
I am also including the originals incase you want to go back !! of course this is now opening the door for any manor or wonderful custom backgrounds for the dialler screen, and infact a whole host of other HTC software including the mp3 trimmer, which also has it's "BG" pics in the windows folder.
anyone who is running 96dpi like me will have noticed that there is space at the bottom of the dialer pad that allows you to see the app running behind the phone, this is now easy to fix and requires these files to be modified in size to cover the currently vacant area, although idealy we need to work out a way to make the bars twice as large in 96DPI to make them finger friendly !
If get round to it I will make the adjustments for 96DPI but it is good as is for all resolutions
and here are the originals
i think the cab you have is bad. i remember i uploaded the addons with a manilla cab that was a bit messed up and i think the text there was messed up. a few min after i uploaded a fixed addons rar.. the text should be find in the new addons cab. i remember i used it to before and there was no text problems.

Ho hum, that took me ages to do and was quite clever by my standards. I only upgraded to AP4.0 yesterday, as I was waiting for a fix to downgrade the SPL on my last ameo before sending it for a warranty repair, in the end I could not wait any longer and just chanced sending in my old phone, which is good, as I now have a new phone
all this is relevant to what you said because I downloaded AP4.0 and the add-ons as soon as they came out, and have not really sifted through the thread because it is huge!
mental note to self RTFM, I could have spent my time productively going through the thread instead of inverting colours in paintbrush !

Titan M2D Round 4 ROM (DCD 3.2.6 and TouchFlo 2D)

******NOTE: Round 4 Reloaded is out! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444342 Check there for the most current vesion!
Hello, I just finished working on my Round 4 ROM. Many people have looked at and downloaded some of my earlier rounds in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436997
This is a continuation of that project on a new thread.
Here is the ROM that I have been working on for the past week. Its a one size fits all ROM. I started doing this at the request of Grimstar8402. He asked if someone could create a ROM with M2D cooked in. I cooked him a ROM and it took off on that thread. I created a couple more rounds with user feed back incorporated and had mixed results for some users and while great results with other users. We soon realized a single ROM could not fit everyones needs because each user wanted different features or other features removed.
Obviously I couldn't accommodate all the request with just one ROM... Or Could I?
Introducing my Titan M2D Round 4 ROM. A ROM designed by many people and for many people!
Some of the highlights of the ROM....
+Based on DCD Kitchen 3.2.6 CE OS 5.2.20275 (Build 20275.1.3.3 dcd)
+Manila 2D - White Diamond Theme with 7 additional themes cooked in!
++Manila styled application CABs are INCLUDED but NOT INSTALLED. Apps include Opera 9.5.2392, HTC Album, HTC Audio Manager, You Tube with fix, Large Title Bar, X-Button (HTC Task Manager), and more (Opal title bar and Vista Hide Battery Gage) in the My Documents folder. All tested and working. You choose want you want to install or not install.
+Free RAM at Boot with stock configuration: 22.25 Megs. M2D enabled, nothing loaded, Oxious Hibernate ran before testing
+Free RAM at boot with minimal configuration: 25.6 Megs. M2D disabled, nothing loaded, Oxious Hibernate ran before testing
+Pre-loaded with all carrier cabs for DCD 3.2.6
+nueUSB,
+nuFonts
+nueLED Control
+Adobe Reader 2.5 (DCD)
+Camera 4.05.xx The older one with flash (DCD)
+HTC 10 Button Comm Manager (DCD)
+HTC Vouge Phone Canvas (DCD)
+HTC Start Animation(DCD)
+Psshut Modified Black theme by me
+Calibri System Font
+iContact 1.02
-Google Maps and Live Search not included. They change too often to cook into a ROM. Most users prefer to stay up to date with those two programs on there own.
*The carrier cabs were graciously provided by DCD as well as the kitchen. Many Thanks to DCD for the kitchen usage and the usage of the carrier cabs!
* On first boot open File Explorer and navigate to \My Documents\ROM Pack\Carriers\ and select your carrier CAB. YOU MUST DO THIS FOR YOUR PHONE TO HAVE A DATA CONNECTION! *
*Your phone is now up and ready to go as a bare bones M2D ROM with some special features in control panel such as nueLed and nueFonts and my custom Silver Windows theme and matching PsShutdown. From here you can install your choice of the pre-loaded apps.
** As with all custom ROM's I am not liable for anything you do or try to do or anything that happened because of your use or attempted used of my ROM** You agree to this when you download it! Sorry but a disclaimer is standard on most all custom ROMs.
Make sure you read the stickies at the top of the forum if its your first time flashing a custom ROM. Another good place to read is the GA Medic post over at PPCGeeks.com about flashing custom ROMS. Its a step by step walk through. If you have flashed a custom ROM before this one is no different ;c)
** Always remember this should be considered beta quality because a lot of these apps were simply not designed for our phones. The developers below did awesome jobs porting them over and tweaking them to work. Every once in a while something quirky could happen when running memory hungry apps like Opera and M2D at the same time. For example M2D may shutdown temporarily until you quit out of Opera. This is due to high memory requirements of M2D and the levels of low memory on our devices (64 Megs on our device vs 128 Megs and higher on the native devices). There is not a whole lot that can be done about these very minor issues and most users do not mind or even notice or have experienced them at all based on feed back that I received in the thread that started this series of the ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436997.
*With all things said this is a pretty stable ROM with or with out the add on pack I created. I think your going to like.
Please make sure you have your phone preloaded with the following before attempting to flash:
NueSPL2.47 or OliPro 2.40
GPS Radio 3.3x.xx or higher
I use nueSPL2.47 and Radio 3.42.50 on a Verizon XV6800
And finally thanks to all the following people who wrote the following great programs!

Please Read Posts 1 through 4 before downloading! Lots of great info and may save you some time!!!!

If you choose to link from other sites then you may do so. I will have a return link here to this post. Please do not deep link directly to the ROM's.
Older ROM's will be organized and posted soon under new locations.
Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
Remember: Always hard reset after a flash! If anything else its good luck!
**Screen Shots - More will be posted at my download link as well.
Row 1
Preloaded Apps, Preloaded carriers, Preloaded M2D Themes
Row 2
Three of the 7 pre-loaded M2D Themes from ROM pack. You can find tons more where these all came from at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974
All made simple buy the Manila 2D Customizer found here! Consider donating to him as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392&highlight=manilla
Notes
** Note: You must install the M2D Customizer from the Apps folder then add the themes using the Customizers "add" feature. The themes are located at \My Documents\ROM Pack\M2D Themes\. Some themes don't like to switch back and forth very well. Take it all in stride and for what it is.
** Note: All pre-loaded cabs can be deleted from the My Documents folder. Just delete the ROM Pack folder or anything inside you don't want. Its that simple. If you must know... A hard reset WILL bring the files and folders back that you be deleted from the ROM Pack folder (but of course you know all your other data is gone!)
Sorry this is such a long post. Wanted to make it as informative as possible and give the proper credit to the people who made all this possible.
Have fun and enjoy and of course if you read this far down and like this ROM and are in a position to donate then please feel free to do so ;c)

Ok, I finally got around to posting updates to post 2, 3 and 4.
Post #2 will be for Tips, Tricks, and How To's.
Post #3 will be for Bugs and fixes (none as of yet)! Before you post saying something is a bug please research it. I tested and cant find any REAL bugs with this ROM (Woot goes out to DCD) other than user preference not being what they like.
Post #4 will be for two things:
1. Upcoming features that I will integrate
2. Download stats from my website.
Remember If you like my work say thank you in to forum and if you are in a position to, say thank you via Pay Pal Donations :c) Im not in this for the money but will contribute back to everyone's work I used and keep my website up and running. Im not getting rich off this trust me! ;P
Tips, Tricks, and How To's
Tips, Tricks, and How To (Updated 7 Nov 2008 at 7:30 PM)
0. Pay attention to this from the first post!!!! It will answer alot of your questions --> +Manila styled application CABs are INCLUDED but NOT INSTALLED.
1. Install the Manila 2D customizer before you try to customize M2D first! The files is in the Rom Pack folder.
2. Pictures Tab How To make it work properly: Install Album application from ROM pack. Use Customizer to turn on the Pictures Tab. Now open the pictures tab and press the ALBUM softkey. Now click the ALL menu button. Now go to the Menu soft key on the right. Select Set as Default Album. Now exit application and it works as it should.
3. Internet Tab - Install Opera from ROM Pack. Now use customizer to add the Internet Tab. Done! You will not have You Tube on the Internet Tab!
4. Music Tab - Install HTC Audio Manager from ROM Pack. Now use customizer to add the Music Tab. Done!
5. Scroll Bar Thickness - Posted a cab below to reset the scroll bar thickness back to the stock width of 12 pts. Just download and apply then SOFT REBOOT. This will also be in the next ROM / ROM Pack.
6. M2D Tip - Try disabling the extra tabs on newly selected themes as most themes leave all tabs enabled by default. This causes memory issues. Also try a soft reboot after changing a theme. A theme is composed of nearly 400 individual files. That bogs down the phone OS. I wish the author of M2D forced a reboot after a new theme was used but it doesn't.
7. You Tube - Install both files in the YouTube Folder. Soft reset and enjoy!
8. Kitchen files are posted. The files are a DCD 3.2.6 kitchen linked up above and the custom OEM's I used to build the ROM. I also included the latest OEMizer. Read my read me file for more info. Your own your own with the kitchen. Too big to support! Have fun and iuf you cook up something you want to share I will post it to my website. Just let me know!!!
9. Verizon Add On Pack Added - See this post for details and downloads - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2877143&postcount=204
Bug Reports and Fixes (if available)
Bug Reports and Fixes (if available)
1. M2D Maps doesnt link to Google Maps when searching....
Status: Seeking resolution
2. Camera not seeing storage card correctly in the Album application
Status: Confirmed NOT TRUE. Follow the directions above to make the Pictures Tab work properly!
3. At random the all programs button may not activate the all programs screen after exiting an application such as google maps. Rarely happens. Seems to be glitch in M2D. Oh well.
Status: Workaround: Slide the slider one to the left or right then back again. Its glitch I found on all builds of CE OS so all I know is that it is not windows or the ROM. Maybe the OEM
4. Gradient color bar across the top of screen.
**Not a bug or a glitch. You installed VistaHide Battery Gauge from the ROM Pack Apps folder. If you dont like it just delete the entry from start up or uninstall the app
Note: Considering a new OEM for Manila to make it more "Compatible" with the above apps "hopefully!" Will try creating one and see.
Thanks to all who pointed these out. I would consider these bugs. The intent was for them to work. I will look into a varios things to find a resolution. If you have one please feel free to post it tin the forum!
Upcoming features and current site stats
Upcoming features:
Im still alpha testing and doing daily rebuilds of "Round 4 - Media Edition" Its basically the same ROM, but with Album, Audio Manager, Google maps and You Tube all built-in and working 100%.
Full integration with M2D. Fixes all the bugs that have been reported about the integration failures.
+You Tube and Internet Tab Integration - YouTube link on the Internet tab and it works like it should.
+Google Maps and location Tab integration - Searching using the Location Tab now works. Had to build in Google Maps to make it work.
+Album and Audio Manager will be built in and integrated with the tabs
+Added device lock.
+Added a couple more themes and removed one or two.
+Added nueWiFiSwitch - Lets you reprogram the WiFi on/off switch for other functions like ringer.
+Reset the default tabs to add Location, Internet, Album, and Audio Manger.
+++Cleaned Up ROM Pack. Now just one CAB file with a shortcut in My Documents. Single CAB file will unzip all apps and themes to the My Documents folder. Very similar to original Round 4 but easier to manage and delete. Excluding carrier cabs. Frees up a lot of space that way!
Remember this is still in alpha testing. Need to work on the Album and Audio manager OEM's. Once that it done I am DONE!

3.3 ROMS an hour average download rate!!!
A total of 8 Pay Pal donations! *Thank you much!!!
1 Pay pal donation per every 64 downloads average!!!
Two pay pal donations per day average!!
Almost 1000 page hits!!!
More than 50 percent of the people that go to the site download the ROM or the kitchen!!!
+ Dont deep link my ROM anywhere! I need the page counter to keep track of things. Deep linking will force me to post to RapidShare for accountability. No one wants that. My site is stupid fast and unlimited downloads to you. I do have to pay $15.00 a month but that is OK with me as long as I don't have to bump up my plan or pay any overage fees from Yahoo. You can how ever post links to www.scottcrosler.com (Just don't deep link please!).
And most importantly, Thank you for taking the time to download my work and more importantly trust my work! Thanks!
If you would like to donate to keep the site up please donate via paypal at www.scottcrosler.com. If you are not in a position to donate then please leave some positive feedback in the thread. Either would make me happy and motivate me to continue this project! I am also donating part of the proceeds to DCD and the M2D teams that made this possible!

flashed to new rom #4
installed all included programs except youtube.. no problem.. runs sweet.
touchflo picture tab says "cant find album searcher" .. no biggie ill look into later
had a go at installing all the included themes, all good, especially liked manila 2d white v2.. nice clock in that one. the blue theme came up with an error during the apply but didnt seem to be any probs after? also added my fav themes.. all installed fine.
installed all of my usual fav applications eg sms chat, tcpmp, skyfire and others.. no problem at all
speed is good everywhere.
rom 3 was good, but rom 4 is definitely a step up unquestionably.. have given the phone a good thrashing tonight with things open etc.. no auto shutdown of programs.. nice
opera doesnt shutdown touchflo.. might be just my good luck but nice surprise!
i cannot really fault this build. bloody awesome scott..
cheers and thanks!.. now i can go to bed
Nice work!

Confirmed, it works fine with Olipro 2.4.
Flash in progress, will give you some feedback shortly.
Flashing now.
flashing now round 4, i had round 3 ,btw 3 issues i found on round 3:
1.this rom is too fast!!!
2. everytime my finger slides to the right and left i get exited.!!!
3. your effort and hard work has paid off!
not to bad for round 3 issues uh?
lets see how round 4 makes me feel
Edit: why does this rom feel faster than DCD 3.2.6? any changes in registry?
Edit 2: i did find a problem "minor problem" with the text messaging, everytime you go to a text it defaults to the top text before responding to a text, then you must type 1 letter to activate the text input in the SMS window, then you can send a message.
Sorry i thats the only issue i found.
Looks good Scott, my only request is that you release the kitchen files. I have several OEM only games and apps I install that I can't find in CAB format and lack the ability to convert to CAB myself.
Any chance you can RAR up your kitchen folder and post it as well?
Thanks,
BTC

You need TouchFloSL.
Make sure you set manilla exe in the exclusion list tho.
can we get a release for the dcd kitchen files?
Scott, I would also like to see a release for the dcd kitchen files? I have some personal files and have grown to like and use "UC Autorun" to do an automatic install of all my cab files and personal settings. Love you M2d Roms.
I just noticed that DCD 3.2.6 has an additional 30-something MB free total. I assume that all the extra's that you cook into the rom bring that total down?
i installed it it runs great..however is there anyway to make a button...such as center middle button on the device go back to the home screen on touchflow?

Four column Program Tab|TFL3D|Manila 2.1|VGA

I am creating this thread, because it should be able to be used with any VGA Manila 2.1 device.
Originally I was posting this it 3 threads. But it belongs in it's own thread so the other threads don't get polluted.
Co0kieMonster monster has a thread that accomplishes this for Manila 2.1. Unfortunately that did not work for VGA Manila 2.1.
For WVGA Devices go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539107
I took that work and used the tools by stzupy to decompile and make slight changes to allow it to work with VGA. Credit goes to both Co0kieMonster and stzupy.
I only claim credit for making the changes to let this be used with VGA.
But,
I did spend a reasonable amount of time on this, so if you appreciate what I've done and want to buy me a beer by donating, it is appreciated. If not, of course it's free to use. On a side note, I plan to donate to Co0kieMonster and sztupzy based on any donations I recieve for porting this to VGA, since their work made it possible for me to do this work.
To install.
Method 1, the cab.
Disable TFL3D
copy the cab to phone.
Launch the Cab
Install to device.
Enable TFL3D
Method 2, Manual
Disable TFL3D
use the reg file to make the needed registry entries ( either use a program or manually create all of them. The reg file can be opened with notepad.
Copy the 3 Manila files to your phone.
Use total commander on your phone to move these to the windows folder.
Enable TFL3D
Please post in this thread links to ROMs that appear to be using without mentioning that this came from JVH3.
I appreciate donations and being asked. And as I noted portions of donations recieved for this will go to Co0kieMonster and sztupzy. It was sztupzy's tools and Co0kieMonster's work on the WVGA device that I started with.
There is a decent amount of work in learning to decompile and compile manila lua scripts and learning what changes affect what, so it was not a trivial task, but nothing in comparison to the total port of Manila 2.1 to VGA that Yozgatg has done.
As of this edit (February 17th, 2010) I have revieved no donations for it. As donations are recieved, I will post the 5 highest donators in this post, along with the 5 most recent.
Edit
Date=July 25, 2010
Donators - Thank you very much.

Great work my friend. I was looking for this. The similar (partial) solutions were not so good...
Thanks a lot..
Good job. A bit laggy in landscape mode at least so it seems but really useful. Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks for this. I am not seeing any problems with all programs in landscape, so it must be something specific to the ROM your running or another mod.

BTW, your pimp package rocks.
So I disabled TF3D, installed the cab to device, soft reset, re-enabled TF3D and... nothing. No programs tab. What am I doing wrong?

Well, I don't have enough info to know what is wrong, but I can ask these questions and give you a few things to check:
Do you have the VGA port of Manila 2.1 installed or included in your ROM?
What device?
What ROM and what date of the ROM?
This does not create the tab, it changes the existing program tab.
If you don't have a program tab, then it might just be disabled.
If you go to the Settings Tab, there is an option, Customize Tabs.
Make sure that Programs is checked.
Hope that helps

Sorry what a noob thing to do. I'm running the vga port of 2.1 on Juicy's 8 ROM, build 090830 (released 08/30/09), on a Sprint Touch Pro. There is no programs tab to check under the customize tabs settings. I misunderstood what the cab was, sorry. Any thoughts on where I could go to get info. on creating a programs tab?
I dared to install the cab on a Diamond with custom win6.5/Manila 2.0 ROM.
i got the fourth column......with the first and fourth colums halved by the screen side edges! (no icon resizing to get the 4 columns within screen real estate)
Yes, i know the program says Manila 2.1 not 2.0, but...
why it doesnt work in 2.0?
may we expect a Manila2.0 release soon?
Best regards

Wow, no programs tab.
There is probably some manila file that just needs to be replaced, because the tab is a part of the Manila 2.1 port.
In Manila 2.0, I used to manually modify a file to control the order of my tabs. Might be the same one in 2.1
Found the thread for the ROM:
http://ppcgeeks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58002
I couldn't see any screen shots. I'm not a member there and couldn't see a search this thread. I would search that thread to see where the programs tab is or how to get it back. The people in that thread would most likely know what to do to get it back, since it seems they removed it.
Still can't believe they didn't include it.
[EDIT]
Realized I am a member there. JohnVH3
Haven't posted ther though. Found this in that thread:

It normally shows

I don't know which file needs to be edited.
I assume you did not have a programs tab before.
I have uploaded to this post, all the Manila files that are in the 8/6 Energy ROM that define these constants. Probably if you copy them to your windows folder, it will look normal for you.
