I almost bought the Zagg since it looks amazing, but then I noticed that it doesn't cover the entire screen. There is a millimeter or two around the display that is not covered and that made me hold my order. Still using the HTC screen protector until I have decided which one to get.

Yeah, the Zagg IS does not cover the whole screen. I have just noticed it and I was not aware of that. Therefore the Zagg IS is a no go!
Does anyone have experience with the BW UltraClear screen protector???
http://mobile.brando.com.hk/bw-ultraclear-smart-phone-s-p-htc-touch-diamond-2-_p04024c1213d039.html

I've been using the BW UltraClear for many years on several devices I've owned and I can really recommend it. It always fits perfectly, is very scratch resistent and absolutely invisible if applied properly.

I am using the Brando Mirror Screen Guarder. A little bit fancy, as it makes ur screen a mirror when the device is off.
Covers the whole screen, but is a little bit too reflective, you see yourself in the screen.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the BW UltraClear is worth trying ...

I'm using the Brando Ultra Clear Screenprotector for D2... Which is one of the screenprotectors I bought.. I never was able to scratch this screenprotector.

Okay. Thank you for the reply.

Any chance of a picture of how this looks when its on the TD2? I like the sound of it and could live with the reflections I think.
Just had a quick look at my phone and can see reflections when the phone is on even with no screen protector applied so shouldn't be much difference to what I'm used to.

I am using antireflex screen protector, highly raises reading ability on the direct sun...

Hello!
@ jlp_svk:
Could you please indicates were you bought it?
I made a quick search trought google but can't find it, is the antireflex the brand of your screen protector? And a last question, does this screen protector fit exactly the screen?
Thank you for your replies!

I took each one shot with Topaz off and on. Must say, yesterday in bright sunshine I had no chance to see my screen with this protector anymore.

@juju66:
had it from here:
http://www.agem.sk/=3fcmd=3dtovar_detail&product=3d13174193
I haven't received it for TD2, but had it on TD1, Touch HD and it fits the whole screen.

I have just received the Brando Ultra Clear screen protector. It says on the package that it is removable and washable. Then it should be no problem for me to remove it and apply it again? (I did not apply it very well the first time )

hi
I have a zagg and Im very dissapointed. I dont recommend it=
- its too mmooiisstt !!!
- I confirm it doesnt recover the entire screen.
- I've kept only the back but it still not very pleasant because it makes some micro corner into the joint ! its raspy !) so I put the stock htc on front.
Im going to try the ultra clear soon.

Go to Gsm4world.us . They have all stock htc accessories!
I have bought many housings from them and can vouch for them.
Great service, and as mentioned before.... ALL things are Genuine.
Good prices too.
Heres the link: https://www.gsm4world.us/htc-touch-diamond-2-p-474_210.html
EDIT: Screen protectors are NOT factory, but everything else is.

I just got my martin field
first of all...it is WAYYY too expensive..I have no idea why I paid 26 bucks for a screen protector
+s
VERY clear
Screen is very smooth-makes it very easy on your finger or finger nail
does not attract finger prints
-s
EXPENSIVE
does reflect a lot of lights

Screen Protector for the Topaz/Damond2

Just to let you know that I bought the Brando Screen Protector for the Diamond2 from Inkino. They even installed it for me which is a bonus. The screen protect is absolutely amazing and is a good as any that I have seen. Do not scrimp on cheap nasty ones that come in multiples in a pack. You only ever need one good one. The Ikino guy showed me a Treo 650 which had a Brando Screen protecter that he had installed when the Treo 650 came out (was I born then ) and it was in a very impressive state. If you are going to install it yourself then they do recommend doing it very slowly and cleaning the screen before-hand is crucial. Common sense I know, but you would be surprised how easy it is to get dust under the protector.
got mines today. 2 pcs, both from Brando. one is the Ultra Clear version.
i've applied the "normal" one for now and i must say it's really cool!
putting it on went pretty much smooth. in the bathroom, where i guess there's less dust, i've cleaned first the screen with a special lotion. then waited until it dried up, after that applied the Brando screen protector as shown in the "instructions".
went OK, only had to start again 2-3 times, then found the right position. went over it with a credit-card while smoothing it out on the D2's screen. it sits very good, no air bubbles and really just a few very small dust pieces at the border of the protector - does not disturb.
so, yes, the Brando screen protectors are really the thing!
now i want only the textured back plate and then i'm really happy!
PS: didn't find the screen-protectors on the romanian market, so had to order them from speedshop.hu (hungary), but eveything went very smooth! in 2 days after the payment
Could you post pictures for me? I'm looking for a screen protector too. Does it cover the whole black part, or just the 3.2 inch screen part?
it covers the display + the black border around. it's actually identical in size with the one delivered in the stock package, the difference in the aspect being the "U" shape around the front camera (the original one is a circle).
I don't get it, mine came with a screen protector.
I think it is quite a good protector,
why are you intersetd in th ebrando protector, didn't yours came with a protector as well ?

yeah, i know. the problem is that i didn't pay enough attention when putting on the screen protector that came in the box and i messed it up (got dust and airbubbles under the protector), so after i've tried to get it clean, i messed it up so bad that it got useless.
this is why i ordered 2 brando's (speedshop.hu has 2 versions) - put on one that is not the "ultra clear" version and now i am happy with it.
When applying the standard screen protector that comes wit the phone, how do you get the screen free from greasy finger prints? If I wipe it with a cloth I just smear it out

Use CD/DVD cleaner
I use those: 3M Vikuiti DQC160
http://www.3m-displayschutz.de/dqc160
Scratchproof, crystal clear and very easy to get on and off.
Is a screen protector really important? I used mine, but the dust freaked me out. Can't place it without any dust...
So I removed mine, and now not using anything. Just bought a case.
What do you think?

You should put one, if it is not too late: once your screen is scratched (and it will get scratched, very fast if u use the stylus), you will have to buy a new screen cover (I think it include the digitizer), which will be much more expensive, or live with scratches which will blemish your screen, which are especially bad with TD2: the very high pixel density will cause moiré pattern (rainbow effect) around the scratch and I find that very annoying...
It is not so hard to install, mine was my first attempt at installing a screen protection, and it went flawlessly: just be careful, do not hurry, do not put your fingers on the screen (once cleaned) nor on the sticky face of the protector, and work in a clean, dust free, well lit room. Dust free is hard, but an excellent trick i did found here was to use your bathroom, after a hot shower (keep the water runnnig a long time, and take a shower yourself ) It will ensure YOU are dustfree ;-), but also, more important, water condensation will remove almost all particles in suspension, and you will get very clean air. BTW, better to wear minimal clothes after your shower: clothe fibers is the most common dust/particles....
If you work in such a place, the only difficult thing is to get the screen protector perfectly aligned. I started on the top, got the grid and camera holes aligned, tried to cover the screen from top to bottom, and restarted as soon as I saw the slightest misalignment without letting the screen protector out of my hand (else it is very difficult to repick - that was the only trouble I had after I was too enthusiatic and let it go while there was still a small misalignment.
If you keep calm, and have good hand coordination, 2 or 3 attempts and you will have an invisible screen protector ;-) Oh yes, and start with a clean screen (I cleaned mine with distilled water and a soft microfiber glass cleaning tissue...worked very well....)
Thanks, I'll have to buy one then.
BTW, does a screen protector affect the sensitivity of the screen? Do you have to press slightly harder on the screen to get it to recognize your finger?

slightly, yes....on the other hand, it is more slippy, although not enough for my taste when using fingers, but it is an improvement compared to the bare screen. Before I installed the screen protector, it was much too grippy for confortable finger sweep motions imho (clean screen, after a while finger grease act as a lubricant ;-) ).
All in all, weighting the slight decrease in sensitivity against the friction reduction...I prefer my screen with the screen protection, even taking out the protection factor
There's this Zagg product for the TD2, which is invisible. Not really sure about this... I might just get the regular screen protector, and use a silicone case.
I would recommend placing the bottom edge of the screen protector up against the bottom buttons to align it. I managed to get it perfect first time.
I find the supplied screen protector picks up finger prints even worse than the bare screen. Are the after market ones any better?
My reseller did the protective screen installation for me. Did a good job. Did you guys get the free pouch also? I am not sure if the pouch came with the unit or if it was a free gift as a promotion.
What's the difference between different brands of protectors and the original HTC ones? I bought last week branded HTC protectors made exclusively for Diamond 2, their HTC part nr is SP P240, they fit fantastically well.. Are they worse than brands mentioned earlier in the thread?

May be they have some particular features such as "antiscratch" or "washable screeing protector"!
I have also recently bought original one SP P240 and very glad with it!
And never mind, original parts are not worse than other brands!

I just ordered an Exim SPUC one from ebay, £6 with free delivery, always had Exim, never had any problems
been using Brando Antiglare (blue packaging) protectors for years. got one on my TP2 as well.
Also been using Brando Antiglare protectors on my HD. It's the best for me...
Can you guys comment on the change to sensitivity of the touch screen?
Does one have to press stronger with the protector installed?
More misses with the protector? Loss of sensitivity?
Seeing it in the sun will be a real plus for me on the TP2...can a few of you tp2 owners comment if it was with or without a screen protector? Which way was best for the screen clarity?
i a cheap set of 2 from ebay and it dousnt look like the maked had even seen the phone before, it even covers the buttons witch arnt flush lol, anyway i complained and he said that a few people had complaind and there manufacturor was going to make new ones so hopefully they get it right this time
Got a brando anti-glare yesterday (had one many years ago on my SE P900) and while it's a good quality protector, I find the matte texture disperses the colour on the screen, making it look "wet".
For an example of how it looks, smear a wet finger across your screen and notice the colour distortion. That's what I get from the brando anti-glare. It also had a slight crease in it out of the packet, meaning that there is a perpetual air bubble underneath the crease that I cannot smooth out.
Better than the stock one for quality, but a couple of niggles.
I have an EXiM SPUC and a brando ultra-clear on order - hope one of these will be better.

I got this as well, went on really easy, much better than the stock one. Quarintus recommended using a credit card to eliminate bubbles ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520946 ). -Is there nothing that Visa and Maestro can't do?
Yeah I know about using a credit card to get rid of bubbles. The problem is in the area of the crease it sits slightly above the surface of the screen, meaning that air gets underneath it. Only way I could get around it is to try and bend the crease out, but I reckon I'd cause more damage that way!
This one is nice.

Hi, im new to this just ordered my TP2 can any1 comment on how good the screen protector is which is supplied with the phone and if its worth buying a better one??
I found the one in the box to be very flimsy and not resistant to scratches at all.
Sure it protects the screen, but it will look very ugly after a very short amount of time.

Agreed, well worth changing it when you measure the cost of the protector against the cost of the phone
Does anyone have the same problem with this phone that I had with my Diamonds screen protectors, which was the protector peeling off when I put the phone in my pocket?
I had to cut all of the corners off the protector, and the 3-5mm off the top to stop it happening
its paypall, so you dont have to pay it
can any1 confirm this if its any good, worth buying or not??

Screen protector for Flyer

The Flyer magic Pen would work better, for note taking, when using a matt surface. any ideas on a good matt screen protector?
I can confirm the Scribe works better with a Matt screen protector.

I put a zagg shield on mine and prefer it over the "naked" screen. I like the feel of th zagg when using the Flyer w/wo the pen.

Thank you so much, I already dug through Amazon.de, but I couldn't find any matte screen protector - is that one a matte one? I am after a matte protection in order to receive more natural writing experience as reported.pe
Edith speaking: this is the only matte one available in good ol' Germany. Thanks for the notice! Finally, the Navitech case is shipping here as well .
Well I'm pretty sure it's matt.
But you can also take the one from mumbi. They are available as "antiflex" and "cristalclear" ones... I bet all of them are pretty much the same so I bet you could go for the one I posted before or you can get the mumbi screen protector which is even cheaper.

Could you post where you purchased one in the US?
I just took off my matte screen (GreatShield from Amazon US).
I didn't think it helped that much with using the pen and it really dulled my screen. Maybe there is another brand matte screen that doesn't dull the screen as much as the GS shield does?
Additionally... there is no cutout for the front facing camera.
Tried two matt protectors, this one was easy to apply and does not dull the screen too much but enhances note taking: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004S79VE2/ref=oss_product
I think this is Euro product.
I just applied the GrestShield product from Amazon referenced above... Both posts are the same product. I bought mine from and Amazon UK, but was fulfilled from the US.
I prefer the matte / anti-glare because it reduces fingerprints on large touchscreen devices. The screen protector is made of a thicker plastic which builds confidence from a protection perspective. It does reduce the brightness of the device slightly, but I've had my flyer set on the lowest brightness setting for indoor use. Increasing the brightness should help.
I haven't played much with the pen yet, but I see no added affect good or bad. Again its the reassurance of protecting the screen with a metal accessory in such close proximity. Especially if you plan to use the other end of the pen as a capacitive stylus.
Overall very happy with the screen protector so far.
UPDATE: the screen protector makes the front camera unusable, but mine was such a poor quality I had essentially written it off. But I will keep an eye out for one with the camera cut-out.
I found the matt GreatShield was difficult to apply (caught a lot of air bubbles) and dulled the screen too much, but does make it easier to use the stylus for detailed notes.
I got the GreatShield clear screen protector and it works great. I don't even notice it's on and the pen works great. Now I can apply pressure when drawing and not worry about scratching the screen. Not too difficult to put on. It does cover the front camera, but since it's clear, I don't really notice a difference. I got the screen protector from Amazon in the US.

I find it a little strange to look through. My screen really lost on clarity, it is now all like covered with dust, a bit like through snow or something... definitely not the best experience with the FoliX. Maybe I need to get used to it, but I had a better experience (though no anti-glare) with glossy protectors on my smartphones back then.

Yes my one seemed like at first, but I seem not to notice it now. Also the feel when using finger input (swipes etc) is better.
The mate screen protector deteriorates the clarity of the screen slightly... It like a haze. For now, it's worth the sacrifice for protections sake. But self definitely keeping an eye out for more options in the future.

Screen Protectors?

Hi guys,
I've never bought one before, so any suggestions as far as quality goes?
There are a number that emphasize this military grade nonsense, is that an actual indicator of quality or a bait tactic?
Thanks in advance.
I bought the Sony one for mine, it was really quite expensive (£25.99 at my local Sony Centre), but it is a decent anti-glare one.
Trouble with some anti-glare protectors is that they make whites all spicily, but the Sony one doesn't. It does a good job of blocking reflections, although its not fantastic at stopping finger prints.

I have to choose between Sony original and Brando Ultraclear (been using them on all equipement so far).
I have never been a fan of matt screen protectors, but I can see that the Sony one gets really good reviews (though I'm not sure if anti-glare in this case means that it has matt finish)
I am using the sony matt one. Pretty good but seems to take away the beauty of the screen. Thinkin of trying a clear one.

+1 for the idea of anyone posting photos in both low/high light settings to get a better idea of how it looks when applied. Thanks in advance.
I don't have photos (yet), but I'll second the Sony one. I got it off amazon when my zagg protector was clearly too big for the screen and overlapped onto the sides - looked awful, plus it was all orange peely. The Sony one is perfect. I don't mind the matte finish, it keeps the glare down.
I finally got the sony one. I've taken some photos, will post them tomorrow (not the DSRL quality though, too lazy for that - but I think anyone interested will get the picture).
Overall I think it was a good buy - Sony protector is cheaper than Brando Ultraclear (not by much, but still cheaper) and it does make the device somewhat more resistant to fingerprints. I wouldn't exactly say it's matt - I'd rather describe it as semiglossy.
Anyway, I hope that it will be at least as durable as Brando (had them on Kaiser, Diamond, X10mini, HD2 - and never ever even a single scratch).
Interesting results here.
I bought the official one with my Tablet, and I don't find it very good. The anti-glare is brilliant, and it protects the screen well, but it also shows up fingerprints really badly and tends to occasionally interfere with touch sensitivity on my device. YMMV, of course.
Photos
There's not much sun right now in Warsaw so I tried to capture flash flare.
I have to admit that I had no problems with touchscreen sensitivity, and IMHO there is waaaaay less fingerprints than without the screen protector - so yes, YMMV
I use a 3M vikuiti screen protector. it's crystal clear, easy to put on, perfect in size and haptics... not cheap though
+1 for sony.
looks fine to me, and REALLY cuts down the glare. I had a side by side comparison in shop with two display units (one with one without) and difference was night and day.

I agree with you but i took away some of the beauty of the screen but them i guess you get used to it after sometime.
I've always used the matt protectors. I know it cuts down a bit on the screen quality, but I use mine too much for reading.
One of my friends who also has a Sony Tablet S had dropped it a while ago onto the corner of a cinder block. The tablet had the Sony matt protector on it and it appeared that the cinderblock had not only gone through that, but also taken a little chunk out of the screen itself. It wasn't until very recently that we discovered that the tablet had the factory applied screen protector on it and once we peeled it off, the screen itself was perfect. While I have no dobut the matt screen protector helped, that factory applied protector can take a helluva beating it would seem.
I'm actually amazed at how well the actual screen stands up to fingerprints. The factory applied protector and the matt protector are both magnets for fingerprints, but the actual screen itself barely collects any when swiping. I'm now weighing my options for what to do because I now have the factory applied screen protector plus the matt protector on my tablet. I'd love to find a screen protector that minimizes or eliminates fingerprints... any suggestions? While I do like how the matt protector diffuses light sources, I think I could live with a shinier screen so long as it wasn't coated in fingerprints

I have had an Armor on now for a couple days. If you follow instructions (watch youtube video) it goes on really well. Bit difficult to perfectly align with fluid present. Mine came out with no bubbles. Lots less fingerprints than out of box screen. Somewhat less glare. However finger sliding is not as smooth as stock. I have a Realook on my phone and it is smoother. Also have a matt screen protector on son's ipod and it has nicest finger slide.
I purchased, "HHI Sony Tablet S1 Anti-Fingerprint, Anti-Glare, Matte Finishing Screen Protector", I'm happy with it.
Wanted to post up in this thread to keep it alive. Thanks everyone for all the great info.
Im shopping for a screen protector now because im afraid to take it out of the house without one, any more input is greatly appreciated!
Well I'm kinda forced to withdraw my recommendation for Sony matt screen protector. After a while (not long, as you can see from the date of my last post in this thread) of frequent tablet usage the matt finish started to wear off.
There are places that you're touching more often and this results in polishing the matt finish of the protector.
Right now it looks matte with polished finger tracks here and there.
Therefore I'd rather recommend Brando one - its glossy and it will stay glossy...
I got these LINK
Really good, nice feel to them.. like all matte protectors they take some of the sharpness off the screen image, but for me it's worth it.

any screen protectors out?

Quite a number available on eBay. Not sure if they are any good, as I don't use screen protectors myself.
Plenty. I'm using Momax and I found a light scratch on the screen protector only after a week. Glad that I have the screen protector installed. I think it gives you peace of mind especially when you do not use the folder type jacket that can protect the screen. I dislike the folder type and have only the PVC back jacket protecting the back and side. It's thin and make the device still holdable.
U can get the Skinomi screen protector from Amazon. Very high quality and is a wet aplication. Helps a lot to ensure it gets in position.

I saw that too. Do you recommend it?
It's a whole lot pricier than the Empire on Amazon.
I got the cheap ones off ebay and they are horrible. Couldnt get the bubble out.
I ordered the Brando ones and I am waiting to see how those are.
I ended up ordering the Empire one off Amazon.

They'll do for me until a matte one comes along.

Ah yes. Def can recommend it. I always struggle to apply screen protectors. Maybe im just clumsy dont know. But I love the ability of the Skinomi to be re positioned once applied. The moisture you see after the application disappears fully after about a day.
I had a Skinomi screen protector on my old Viewsonic g-tab (eww), and it was pretty slick. If you take the time to apply it per their instructions it will be virtually undetectable with no bubbles.

I dont use any wet apply screen protectors anymore after i tried them once and screwed my phone up - water got into the phone.
Dry ones: With careful application (there is a good video on youtube) the dry ones go on perfectly. And for the price you pay for them on ebay ie $3 buy a couple and if you screw one up have another go. Its really not that hard.
I got both a low priced matte and glossy screen protector (same OEM make). I don't recommend anyone use a matte SP. It gives a dotted rainbow effect to the screen, making it terrible for viewing the AMOLED+ screen.
The glossy one is OK. I'm competent at applying SP's so didn't have any issues with bubbles/dust. Can't notice the SP is there and viewing angles/brightness doesn't seem to be diminished at all.
Just got the Brando ones today.
They are excellent. Really great quality and super crystal clear. Cant even tell its on. They are a little pricey but well worth it I think.
Shipping from Hong Kong to NY took about 10 days.

I got the ADQC27.....perfect fit, and no rainbow effect.
Glossy....almost feels like the Tab's glass in terms of feel but fingerprint doesn't come off as easy as it is non oleophobic.
They ship REALLY FAST which is a huge plus........
