Hero coming to Telus in Canada. - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As I posted in the General section, the Hero is coming to Telus in Canada, probably within two months.
I was tipped by a buddy of mine who works at Telus. They got the TP2 and Snap SKUs about two months before release, so perhaps we're getting the Hero by Obtober?

Goodbye Touch Pro CDMA Thread

So I went into Sprint yesterday because my 3rd refurbished TP was dropping signals in the middle of parking lots about .5 miles from a Sprint tower. I've been having trouble with it for a while and been getting the runaround from pretty much everyone over there-- but yesterday was different.
Apparently it failed testing and they offered me an upgrade to the TP2, which I happily took. Thanks for the help over the past few months, and I'm sure I'll catch some of you in the TP2 forum.

Really wish Verizon would let me trade out for a different phone. I am on my third one, but since my contract is about to expire then I really doubt they would do anything. Anyway, gratz!

T-mobile HD2 still working with T-zones?

Last I heard, HD2 was still working with t-zones but that was approximately 6 months ago. Is it still the case? I may pick up a HD2 from craigslist and play around with it

[Canadian Thread] Everything you need to know about GS2 release date and Carriers

Hello,
I'm starting this thread to explore any rumours heard about possible release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S2 in Canada. So far, Virgin Mobile Canada, has announced on their website that they will be receiving the phone shortly:
http://www.virginmobile.ca/en/home/index.html
^Click the 2nd slide thing.
I have heard other rumours that Bell may be receiving the handset July 14. And SaskTel, has also announced they will be selling the phone.
However, it seems that Rogers has been very quiet about the phone. I have heard rumours that they might only receive the Infuse 4G. But that would be a stupid decision on their part, since the GS2 blows the Infuse out of the water, and the GS2 will probably come with 4G anyways.
It seems as though Canada might be receiving the handset sooner than our southern neighbours for once *Knock on wood*
I was wondering if anyone else has heard news about the GS2 coming to Rogers/Canada. And would you be willing to buy the phone unlocked somewhere else if it doesn't?
Sorry if a similar thread like this has already been posted. I'm just trying to share and gain as much knowledge as I can about this beast of a phone
Sincerely,
Jamie
If you guys do get it before us, I may have to plan a road trip then!

AT&T Retail vs. Intl.

Quickie question. I know it's been discussed in a few other posts, but I have a question regarding the intl version and NOT using AT&T.
I'm getting my own plan with StraightTalk, most likely, with the SGS3. The problem is, if I'm not worried about getting a 4G Plan, should I save about $100ish and buy the AT&T Version for full price and then unlock it or just buy it from Expansys-USA? How is the warranty for US Customers with AT&T/Expansys? Are there better places to buy the international version from?
Thanks so much! Hoping to get my hands on this within the next two weeks!

[Q] Moving From Sprint, Some Questions About Unlocked 32GB One

Hey guys,
I've been searching around the forums for a couple hours now and while there are some vague and half answers to my questions I really just wanted to get a definite yes or no on a few things.
I'm moving from an HTC One on Sprint because of Sprint's terrible data speeds. I'm definitely getting the HTC One on T-mobile, but I'm deciding between T-mobile's own HTC One or the unlocked 32GB version directly from HTC because I don't want even what little bloat the T-mobile version comes with, I want updates directly from HTC, and I travel to Europe at least once a year so I want to be able to take my phone with me and I know that T-mobile can be wishy washy about unlocking this phone before 40 days even if you've bought it outright. I know I can buy a code from eBay, but why pay another cent or take another step?
I'm in a refarmed LTE area so the lack of the 1700Mhz band shouldn't be a problem, right?
So my question is, given my situation (need for an unlocked phone, living in a refarmed/LTE area) will I really see any drawbacks using this phone in my day to day over getting the T-mobile version, flashing the ROM from the Unlocked/Dev version and paying to have it unlocked?
Thanks for your help!
I just got my HTC One a week ago, so I might not be the best person to answer you, but somethings better than nothing right? lol
Anyway. For what its worth, I have the T-mo HTC One and the bloat really isnt that bad. Sure, you cant uninstall it, but the Sense 5.0 launcher lets you hide apps from the drawer and the T-mo apps dont stay on as running services if you turn them off.
Besides the Apps, theres no hint of this HTC One being on T-Mobile.
And I think you might miss out on WiFi Calling with T-mo if you get the Dev version of the HTC One. I'm definitely not sure about this, but its the only downside I can see besides the different bands, which someone else can comment on.

I have had an unlocked 32gb on Tmobile since mid April and I'm loving it, if you're in a refarmed area dont worry, where I live (SoCal) it's entirely refarmed and Ive been getting good HSPA+ the whole time, and as of a few days ago LTE as well. I would just go for the unlocked, especially since you'll be traveling.

Wifi calling is a software thing not hardware, you can flash parts of a tmobile rom to get it if you really want it on an unlocked/dev edition

I live in the Rancho/Fontana area, but I go to CPP so I regularly commute between the LA and San Bernardino areas, I'd say a good 85% or so of the areas I go to are refarmed, and of those about 40% of them already have LTE; I gotta give props to Tmobile, I've enjoyed their service so far and for only 30 a month it's been great.

I have the developer edtion and switched from Sprint to T-Mobile. Best thing I did speeds are 10 x faster. I'm in a reframed area. If you're in a reframed area definitely go for it.

I would get the T-Mobile version. There are only a few TMO apps, and having the AWS available is a good thing, especially when traveling. TMO will unlock your phone for you, so unless you are leaving for Europe within 40 days, it should not be a problem. Actually, I've read posts from folks who got their unlock code immediately, provided they paid for the entire phone.
