AT&T Tilt 2 Clear Hard Case - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Accessories

I purchased this. got really excited as its the only case that att offers for the phone that is a snap on hard case incase of accidents. it also has a screen protecter which i was weary of from the start. when i got it. It actually fits perfect compare to the only one they had for The Fuze. Which scratched my phone and wore quickly. but it did its job for 3 months.
But the Tilt 2 one i dont think i like due to the screen protector. It sticks to the screen making bubble like look. and it has a black border on the face which takes away from the Chrome accents. i even took off my screen protector just incase it was conflicting with the case. and it still did the same thing. stuck to the screen or made bubble like appearences when the screen was turned off. i think they messed up with this desighn, and i may be taking it back because it cost me 29.99 plus tax.
System

That was my experience too. I took it off and put on a Boxwave screen cover. Also, the screen cover was just loose enough to trap fine particles under the cover.

I took mine off because:
1) It was extremely difficult to tap the taskbar to bring up the Task Manager
2) The scrollbar at the bottom of the display became next to impossible to use
Basically, the edges of the screen required large amounts of pressure before the phone would register a touch with the case on.

+1 I got rid of the case very quick.

I still use this case but only the bottom half the top part pretty "rinkiydink" i removed the screen protector part and just tried using the top piece but it doesn't stay on the device i would suggest buying one from amazon.com i have a black snap on case on the way i payed 8 bucks for!!! the case-mate has a year warranty so if it cracks or whatever at&t will swap it out for you that is one advantage i guess.

yeah i even took off the plastic top... but it scratched the fake Rhodium around because of debris that got in there. ooo i was erked. so i figured you know what. i might as well enjoy my phone... but if i drop it... crap! i better figure something out.
Let me know how that case from Amazon works out. if you got a link id appreciate it. thanks.

i just got this case.. its nice!
heres the fix to the bubbling look problem..
get a anti-glare screen protector under it.
i have this setup on my ipod touch (casemate + antiglare) and it works perfectly, no werid smudges. i have an invisible shield right now + this case mate and im debating switching to an anti glare to get the nasty sticky look off... we'll see. anyway, i dont have a solution for the buttons being harder to press xD

I got this case right after I dropped the Tilt2 the first time.
Now 3 months later the case comes apart in my purse.
Sucks
Now Im looking for a Clear case that has a screen like this one not just cover the edges.
the Bubble thing got on my nerves,

Tilt2 Case-mate clear plastic case bubbles
Hello and thanks for all of you posting on this...
I will return mine and be satisfied with the one I already have on it. Saw these Case-mate covers at the AT&T store for half off so I thought I'd try one and was generally pleased except for the bubbles... bad design. And I thought of doing all the things that others have tried (posted here above) and so I will just get my money back. I guess all the vendors are making good cases for the iphone...
I can't really find a really nice case for this phone. The one I did find I had to make modifications to it like use a file to provide better access to the on/off button on top and the volume controls... I did find one from otter box on ebay that looks interesting...
Thanks again to all who posted and made my decision to return this product easy.

CASEMATE
The only thing positive I can say about the CaseMate that AT&T sells is that when the screen protector delaminates from the clear plastic frame it is glued into AT&T will replace the whole thing, back and front, for 1 year after initial purchase, other than that it is crap. Keep some cynoacrylate (super glue) around for when it does pop off, but when you compare the $29 they want against so many other products in this price range it just doesn't hold up. Hell it doesn't even have a clip.
In the same vein is the Body Glove but it is far superior and less money. It doesn't try to protect your screen so you will still need a screen protector, but it has a clip that acts as a stand.

A friend of mine was at a mall and going past a kiosk and they had a bunch of hard snap on cases for the touchpro 2... she had asked me if I wanted one but I didnt really. I guess they were only around 20 dollars. I saw the ones at ATT months and months ago and they looked like garbage. The one she got was pretty nice though... no crappy piece of plastic that covers the screen!
so if you are in the market for a cheaper one and dont want to wait for one to ship from ebay or whatever just go to your mall.

The case mate one that ATT sells is horrid! I have it on my phone right now and it's been scratching up the chrome and gouging it! As well my back cover has scratches from where debris has come in! I'm going to return this hunk of junk and get myself something better, any recommendations besides the bodyglove?

G1 Screen Protectors

There's plenty of time to have them handy for the arrival of your G1 -- they're not listed as being 'included' at the T-Mobile product page: http://www.boxwave.com/accessories/t-mo ... s_3283.htm
Anyone thats on ebay check out this link I've got some on the way from this seller will check back and let you know if any good. 3 screen protectors for 10.50 after shipping.

I have used Zagg (previously ShieldZone) screen protectors for a few years now, and i love them! Once applied they are on for as long as you want, and last forever. They do not scratch at all. Not sure how they will work with a touch-screen but I dont see it causing any issues.
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/t-mobile-g1-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I still have the original plastic on the screen that came with the device.
So glad that unlike other tmo phones it wasnt printed over with the #646# stuff.
For now, it'll work, bubbles and all.

Me too, and the bubbles flattened out overnight, so I forgot this morning whether I had removed that plastic protector or not. I ordered the Zagg invisible shield for my PSP to test it out, see if I like it. My two big concerns are if it will be too grippy (with a touchscreen I feel like my hand should slide more) and that it might distort the screen. I've had some cheap screen protectors and they totally draw attention to themselves, I have one on my psp right now that makes it look like the screen is oily or something.
BestSkinsEver is a good deal too:
http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-115/T-dsh-Mobile-G1-Skin/Detail
Worked well when I had it on my iphone.
I got the Invisible Shield from Zagg... it is a pain to put on... and I see small imperfections but they say it should go away after a few days. It came in many pieces. So I left the back one off as I don't see the point in protecting the pop off compartment.
Will tell you more later.

If you all decide to get the Zagg's, there is a banner (for me at least) on the top of the page... support your forums by clicking on it and purchasing that way. I am including the link here: http://pagead2.googlesyndication.co...ields.php&client=ca-pub-9796028472014192&nm=3

i'm using the original one it seems to work fine with no bubbles
I got the Zagg protector, like punkzanyj said, it's too grippy and there are imperfections that I don't think will go away.
I just ordered a different brand, I wouldn't recommend the Zagg product.
For those who don't want to go with InvisibleShield because it's full body or it requires a wet application, i'd recommend an Exim product. All their protectors are silicone static-cling rather than adhesive based, and the quality of the anti-scratch coating is pretty good. I've used the Exim protectors on three devices in the past (with no cases) and never had to replace them.
Webpage is here, but you can find the products easily with a search on eBay.
I couldn't put up with the bubbles so i bought a kit out the t-mobile shop which i had to cut to size...works nicely...
But now as i was going through the box found it comes with a free protector!!!
It's clear and might be hidden in the instruction book or something...remember it's see through so it's hard to find!! But trust me it's there...i've not used it though so dunno what the quality is like.
SPOC or SPUC?
Screen Cover separate than body or not?
I have noticed that several of the screen/body protectors for the G1 have either a screen protector as PART of the front body cover and some do not. I do feel a bit of a drop in elevation between the screen and the case around it does this make a difference? will the whole front cover style allow for a smoother transition from screen to edge? will the separate screen and body style have a catch at the connecting point?

Brando protector review
FYI, I ordered the anti-glare screen protector from Brando. It seems to be adhesive (not static), but is removable and re-applyable (and washable, which I've even verified).
It took a couple of attempts to get it on cleanly (it's easier when it's wet), but now that it's on it looks and works fine. Image quality is comparable with other anti-glare protectors I've seen. I got the anti-glare version mainly because I wanted a textured surface so my finger would move more smoothly across the screen, and it does make the screen a lot smoother to the touch.
It's not the cheapest one I've seen ($9, 1 per pack), but Brando has free shipping, so it does balance out a bit. (I also bought it at the same time as their 3-in-1 ExtUSB Headphone Adapter, which I do highly recommend)
PhantomSkinz Screen/Body Protector Review
I am not affiliated with PhantomSkinz in anyway, other than being a very satisfied customer.
I recently bought a T-Mobile G1 and started researching screen/body protection for it before receiving it. After reading many reviews and checking out other vendors of these products, I decided to go with PhantomSkinz after seeing pictures of a BlackBerry Storm they did.
They are located in Gilbert, AZ, so I was able to make an appointment and have it installed (for FREE!). If you are not local, you will get two sets of skins in case you damage one or mess up the install.
After 24 hours of drying, it looked absolutely perfect. There is absolutely no "orange peel" effect that people seem to get with vendors that use other films. The body coverage was suprisingly good, virtually every surface is covered (including media card door, USB port cover, etc.). I didn't expect individual pieces of film for the buttons, covers, etc.!
The only thing that bothers me a bit is that when the screen has large sections of light colors, you can barely see some lines in the film. I assume this is from the manufacturing process. At all other times, you cannot even tell the film has been applied.

Screen protectors Which one is best from these? (Which is like Hori)
Hey all, I know for handhelds, Hori screen protectors were the best, 100% no doubt. (Tho now you have to import em lol)
So which one would be like that for the G1? (Where it goes on super clean, easy and is high grade as Hori would be)
I saw:
Zagg

The Zaggs are nothing like Hori. They have a somewhat textured surface and also require liquid to apply. I think the closest to Horis (that have precut sizes for G1) are EXIMs. You can find their products resold on ebay.

G1 cracked screen what do i need to replace?

recently broke the screen
Ok my cat recently broke the screen on my g1. I now have to pay 130 bucks for a new phone which more than paid for the phone when got it...alas emo tear..... but any ways I was thinking of geting an armor case and and skin shield like invesa shield. And is that just a waste of money? I defently want the armor case. But not sure about the skin any help be of great help thanx.
with respect, kill your cat.
Lol trust me I want to it was like slow motion cause it feel jsut out of reach
lol.. like in the pram scene in the Untouchables..
"Noooooooooooooooooooo!"
Good luck bro
i agree with little_rock
i have the invisi sheild on my phone, the full wrap, it really does cover the whole phone, and its the best skin ive ever had on a phone as far as scratches go, ive demonstrated the 'keys scratching the screen' that the company did to the iphone (took a key and attempted to scratch the skin on a iphone with no luck), and it works. However, i dropped my old g1 with the invisi sheild on it from a good distance while walking onto concrete and it still caused a ding in the g1 (bottom corner) and took a small chunk out of the skin, now invisi shield gives a lifetime replacement if you damage your skin, but at that point ive already got a ding in my g1
so the invisi shield is mainly to prevent scratches, if you are getting the armor case, be prepared to have a much thicker g1, and im pretty sure its a tight fit so i dont know if it will fit over the invisi shield (im asuming you are talking about the one in the image below.
I dont think youll need both, that armor case is no joke when it comes to dropping your phone, the invisi shield is top of its class, but against scratches, so choose the armor if you plan on dropping it, or the shield if you just dont want scratches and mid level protection from dropping

surely that makes draggin the notification curtain down a nightmare?
my girlfriend has a regular snap on plastic case, and even that can get on my nerves when using her g1, especially when im used to mine, so i can only imagine 'nightmare' is hardly the right adjetive for THAT monster
so wootroot what do you use instead?
think of the headach from having to open your phone to get to the keyboard using the above case, it looks like you have to open the case to use it, which would certainly tick me off if i wasnt such a avid chomp sms and steel user
if you want your phone to have a bullet proof vest, get that case, but weigh out the pro's and cons, if you dont drop your phone at highspeed or from large heights, get invisi shield, i swear by that company and there claims to there skins, its uber easy to install (it includes a small spray bottle of water (they claim its a secret solution ) and you spray the back of the skin, apply it, use the included squeegy to push out all of the moisture, and when it drys it sticks on there very nicely, wont slide around at all, yet when i removed it before sending my old one back to tmobile, not only was my g1 spot free of any adhesive, it was scratch free (minus the ding) as well. the screen is nice and smooth so you dont have alot of resistance on your finger, and when you get it in the mail and feel the skin for the first time, you can definately feel the quality

honestly? invisishield and a death grip, seriously, everytime i hold my phone when not ontop of carpet im holding my phone like it owes me money, ive dropped the g1 with invisi shield on it on rock/dirt surface which would certainly scratch the phone if it didnt have the shield, and i just had to dust it off, the price for the invisi shield is a little much but its worth it with that lifetime warranty, id say use that soft case included with the invisi shield, if your not using the phone, put it in the soft case, but thats just my own preference, i have to say, that armor... yeah youll never hurt your g1 with that thing
"holding my phone like it owes me money"
that rocks dude!
might try the invisisheild then.. and preferred (ie cheap) websited to get it from?
cheers bro
i got mine from amazon, order it from my phone actually, but im sure if you use google shopping and search for invisi shield g1 youll find the best price (if it isnt amazon)
koolness. cheers bro
same to you, pm me if you get it and need help getting it on, the directions make it sound like rocket science, as if you put to much moisture on it youll destroy it, drench that sh*t, slide it in place, and crush that water out
weird is it made by zagg - they go ona bout nanotechnology and all thwat crap but theres seems to be invisible sheid as opposed to invisi shield...
cheers
mine was by zagg, comes in a fancy box, i didnt know there was two different shields, trust zagg, and im not sure about nanotech, but its pretty serious material
sweet - zagg it is then bro
So I'm reallly just wanting somthing to protect the screen from sharp edges. Like a rock or the conor of table. Or a metal ammo box... and those two are the best options that I came up with

Recommend cases/skins for G1

Hi guys, I've had my G1 for about half an year now and I'm thinking of getting some soft skin or a case for my phone. I'm currently using a vertical GOLA case with vecro made of fiber, and it's UGLY. I'm thinking of getting a nicer case, maybe leather, but I'm worried about the magnets.
The other thought is getting a soft snap on case, but they don't seem too pretty and add some thickness to the device.
Here are some of my choices :
http://alturl.com/zpeg
http://alturl.com/3hqh
http://alturl.com/2xzy
http://alturl.com/mr6h
Or maybe a leather case + this vinyl skin
http://alturl.com/qsmo
+
http://alturl.com/8n63
= the best solution?
I'm totally amazad by this last one - there is an youtube video and the thing looks awesome! It doesn't protect the phone , so I'm thinking this + some sort of pouch/case with belt strap on.
So. What skin/case/pouch are you using?
what color is your phone?
if u have white, then i recommend getting a white battery cover, then zaggs invisible shield.

i personally like the look of the phone as it is,and the zagg invisible shield will protect the phone from scratches and add a little more gloss. plus the shield comes with a lifetime warranty,so u can just always receive a replacement
or make ur own skin:

but i recommend getting a leather holster as well
Gee thanks. It seems they have dropped the price of the ZAGG. It costs about 20$ with shipping to where I live. Did you take a look ath the RAKISIS skins I posted - they look like "the ****" for pimping the G1

i picked up the BodyGlove case for my dream and its been great.
http://androidandme.com/2009/03/reviews/body-glove-case-for-the-t-mobile-g1/
i think i bought it from the t-mobile store for around 40 bucks? silly Rogers up here in Canada doesnt offer any cases, had to pick this guy up when i was visiting the US.
its a tad thick but it protects the phone very well. has a nice feel to it and fits very snug around the phone..
No way I'm putting such an ugly thang on my phone. Sorry man. I had a pocket pc before and bought a similar case. Yes, it provides premium protection, but makes the phone uncomfortable, ugly and very very thick. I will probably go for the invisible shield, although I hear some bad things about it - that it peels off, it's hard to install and doesn't feel good. I'm also tempted by those golden and silver vinyls that I posted.
I bought a Skin for my Dream... from www.bestskinsever.com . It's exactly like the invisible shield, but it kind of covers the device better. My phone is white, thus i wouldn't recoment it for a white phone, because it gets yellowy after a while, so if you have the bronze/black version, it would be like the best choice for it's price. i took it off after a month and there were no signs on the phone, it was like brand new.
+1 for the Zagg invisible shield. I've got one on my g1 and i recently just applied one to my macbook pro. Gonna buy one for my brother's iphone for christmas. Needless to say, it's a solid device that's barely noticable.

My unique skin that's for use w/ Hero roms
I would recommend a custom skin from uniqueskins.com
You can customise it how you like... I have all my personal photos on it of my mates.
I bought the scratch proof version for about £8 with international shipping and it works fine... best i've had (I had a few of these sort of things off of ebay).
Invisible Shield
ZAGG has now made Invisible Shields that aren't plain clear vinyl. They now have some pretty cool designs you can use
http://www.zagg.com/zaggskins/index.php
Very nice indeed. I was thinkink of zagg + some skin and now they have both.
It's 19.99 for both back and front i think so it's perfect.
Ive ordered both InvisibleShield and Best Skins Ever. They're both are about the same, if you're watching that wallet Best Skins Ever is the way to go. They'll last you awhile and you have to buy another one down the line.... Totally worth it though.
For custom skins for the phone go to: www.skinit.com
Hopefully that'll help a few people out.
I use an invisible skin from Best Skins Ever like a few have mentioned. I only applied it to the face of my G1, as I like the body texture.
It was a simple process and looks great. Some people will tell you they get horrible peeling / bubbles -- they just applied it wrong! If you put the effort to apply it well and let it dry properly overnight, you'll have zero problems. I bought my G1 when they first came out, put the skin on, and it still looks brand new. The one spot I had try to peel was one of the square corners on the front chin -- took a hair dryer to it for a few seconds and that was the end of it .
Bodyglove is best multiple uses.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551325
See the link above. It has pictures of the many ways you can use the body glove. Not only that, the rubber case protects your phone in case you drop it.

Protective skin for Htc hero

My brown back cover is suffering from 1 or 2 scratches in 2 months of usage. I normally see Iphone users have hard plastic/silicon/decent looking cases to protect their device. HD2 also has a dedicated one.

Silicone case all the way baby.
Cheap as chips and doesn't look cheap like the floppy old rubber cases we used to use.
I think mine was about £2, £2.50 max (good old ebay). Also came with a free screen protector.
Well worth it.
Here is mine
Nice soft plastic thats easygoing even when taking it out of your pocket.
Got it from .pdair.com
Mines similar ^^^, Got mine off Ebay for £2.49, Bargin
Yours covers the Volume buttons, mine doesn't

Same one here, 5$ including shipping - on eBay. Works great, using it 4 months (I think) and there are no signs of material going yellow, or chipping and cracking. Protects very good and isn't bulky!
Also, I see you have Eclair. There is green tint on camera

Ooops,.... Got it wrong,... Not SILICONE, they are the soft floppy ones aren't they,....
I meant GEL case,... Like the photos people have posted.
Mine also covers the volume - I do have 6 though so I can mess around with if I prefer it with or without! (All for £5 inc P+P - Bargain!).
Sorry about the poor quality of the pic - my elf’s camera is not so good!
I like that it provides a bit of a ridge around the screen - My daughter has a tendency to play with my phone and ends up throwing/dropping it on the floor, this helps avoid scratching (I also have a screen protector) It also doesn't add too much width around it, provides better grip, and doesn't muffle sound when on the phone.
Much better than the floppy silicon ones - they are useless, gel all the way!
You let your daughter play with your phone,.... I don't even let the missus touch mine!
if she breaks it, i'll get a new one on insurance - but I turst her, although she isn't even 18months! She does like to phone people on it, that is the only downside to these cases, they don't stop that (I should set a lock pattern...)

Aaah, thats cute,... Although I find it hard to believe that other tots have phones. Who does she call?
Back on topic,... 6 for a fiver,... Ebay??... Are they all different colours?
She phones my fianceé's phone, which is usuall sat underneath. (sorry for going off topic)
I would prefer her not to have my phone, but thats what makes the case a necessity of the case, she can get anywhere I leave it, this way, I don't get it broken, and she brings me it if someone phones me
Yup, I have white, blue, red, pink, purple and black. If i were a girl, I could accessorise to what I was wearing!
EDit: Just had a look at I can't find the link for £5 anymore The nearest I see for 6 is £7.29

WhiteStone Dome for the S9 is even better than the S8!

Hi guys!
Decided to take the plunge yet again and purchase a WhiteStone S9 screen protector seeing how I loved the S8 one so much (and because I seem to have no sense with my money).
So I went and preordered it from mobile fun and followed this YouTube video to install it and I think it came out great!

Just wanted to share this with you guys and see how you're finding yours. Are you guys getting WhiteStone Dome or have you found something better for the S9?

Sounds like a mucher cheaper way of doing virtually the same thing. Will the loca glue need curing in the same way as the Whitestone do you reckon?
Love to hear how you get on anyway :good:
Already installed my Whitestone as well. Had it for the S8+, Note 8, and now S9+. It seems every version, they improve the process. The Note 8 and S9+ both utilize the tipping over method. However, my Note 8 did not have a sticker to cover the speaker, or the pads on the side to clean up excess glue. The sticker for the speaker was nice, but I didn't bother with the liner pads on the side. As before, great product from Whitestone.
Hello,
I just installed the Whitestone Dome Glass on my S9 + and I’m happy.
Since the S7 edge I had to stop its protection in tempered glass because it did not stick and luck luck I broke my phone screen, I look everywhere on the internet and I saw the one that is expensive its real … 45 € (for me: France) except that 45 € on a phone has 959 € … I think it can do it, all his past and it fits perfectly sends really heavy!
To see in the long term ..
Thank you!
Just put it on last night, and your video install helped a ton! So far I am loving it, perfect install, perfect glass
wow, i must be getting old and out of the loop for many years, has been many years since i used a screen protector.
watching that video, the process is cool for sure, wow. never seen such a thing. lol
thanks for sharing, might have to put it on my want list.
I don't know how true my reservations are, but I do have some regarding screen protectors using LOCA. When you remove the screen protector, the glass will come off easily (in most cases anyways) but the adhesive stays behind. The adhesive isn't something you can easily remove without some sort of solvent or manually scraping it. That's my only reservation on these kinds of screen protectors -- should I mess up the installation, or the glass cracks and requires removal -- the adhesive isn't going to come off easily.

mine came off perfectly clean on my S9 plus, i broke the whitestone and had to replace it. literally no residue left on phone, all loca stayed on tempered glass. big problem i see with whitestone is the warranty replacement process, they require old to be sent back before a replacement under warranty. for the price they need to allow you to request warranty and get new one on the way asap. the loca tempered glass seems to be the best option imho
I love how it looks like you don't even have a protector on until you look at the top by the earpiece! Super clean.

Yes it's very clean on the install and yeah you only really see it on the top. Looking right at it you don't notice it but if you tilt the phone a little you'll notice it on the top.
My install went great on two phones. Even screwed up the second one doing it and cleaned it all up and did it again... flawless.
My only concern is the bottom of the protector seems to sit a little low on the phone could of moved up slightly or shortened the glass just by a fraction to give a little more space between the glass and cases.

Hi Anyone,
Installation is both time consuming, easy, and difficult. Approx. time 15 minutes. It's easy to install. The challenge was getting the table balance & removing every piece dust possible. Other then that, it's worth the $45. The price is the thing I hate about it.
How does the phone feel with the protector on? Does it become noticeable thicker?
hi.
any problems with dust in the corners over time??
It feels slightly thicker. Nothing bad. Could be slightly wider and taller, bezel gap bothers me. But that allows different case styles. I use Clear View case, so it makes the whole package pretty fat already.
Little glue marks at the edges with dust. But nothing bothering. Also, after installing the glass, there seems to be a crack from bottom center, towards on/off button. Don't know if i screwed something up or it is production failure.
mine cracked somehow, never dropped it. waiting to hear from their support, having to mail them the broken one before they send me a replacement is really ****ty service imo

Yeah that does suck. Though it's a good fit and stays put on the screen which is the main reason I went with them. Maybe I'm due time the will be more competitors that work with these types of screens with proper adhesion.
