Works on 1.6 4399 too.
When I do this it only shows the setting for a split second,then goes back to the dealer. Any idea why?

I am on stock 1.6 (build 6601) on AT&T. I don't really have a use for them, I just think there is nothing cooler than having a real developer phone.
If they are not available, could I extract them from a different ROM, such as the 02 1.6?

I changed this setting in that file, and this did not allow me to enter engineering mode. I also rebooted after saving the file, and opened it to make sure the setting was changed. I am running the official 2.2 release, and would love to be able to unlock the engineering apps.. Thanks, Brian

Worked for me. At first it said something about wrong password on sd card.
Then i changed the build.prop as stated, rebooted and typed in *#*#307#*#* and voila EMLIST and all other apps now appearing!
You dont need to input the code btw or change your build.prop to access EMList or the other hidden apps.
[edit] I just realized this, sorry.
You may have to actually be using ADW to do this. I'm not entirely sure if "Activities" is able to be selected if your not using ADW. It has an ADW icon.
Just longpress on the homescreen>custom shortcut>pick your activity>activities>EMList>Emlist(.EMListInstaller)
click the shortcut n your done. Everything the code would've gave you access to is now available. You can now remove the shortcut. To remove do the same thing but choose Emlist(.EMListUnInstaller) for your shortcut.
You can also just make a shortcut to the individual apps that you want rather then installing EMList and having them all occupy your app tray. They are all listed under activity already.

under 1.6 when i gave in the code, i had emlist and another app were i could toggle so i could see the processor working on top of my screen in red and green bars. I don't remember the name of the app anymore now that i am on 2.2.. does anyone remember how to get this app...it is not in the emlist?

Ok, problem... I did this:
With ADW Launcher - I longpressed an open area on homescreen.
1. Chosed "Shortcut" (did not see >custom shortcut>pick your activity>activities>, only shortcut)
2. Choose "Activity" (I didn't see any Activity, just Applications, Bookmark etc)
So what did I do wrong?
Is it possible to get into the Engineering Mode in DSC 1.7?

Well I didn't coded nothing new, just tweaked and adjusted some programs to get a free working Start Menu Replacement solution. It gives you about 15 - 20 MB of more free RAM.
Many of us use the great xTask Manager. As you already now, this tool can replace the Start Menu. I cabed the newest xTask Manager 2.3b4 allong with the settings for Start Menu replacement and with files that disable the starndard WiMo Start Menu.
It works on WM 6.5.x (didn't tested it on WM 6.5) and on WVGA/VGA/WQVGA/SQVGA/QVGA/HVGA resolutions.
If you are already using xTask - please BEFORE you install my cab file, DELETE the file xt.reb from your Storage Card or MOVE it to another folder because this file is a backup file for xTask Manager settings.
In the xTask settings you can enable the Alpha Blending for Transparent Start Menu.
CAUTION: PLEASE BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE INSTALLING!

When you empty the start menu files (files with nothing inside) the start menu cannot read them and does not start.

I added the empty Start Menu files for all resolutions, including registry entries for showing Start Menu button. I set the xTask Manager for replacing the Start Menu, exported xTask reg entries and bundled everything, incl. the last xTask Manager version into a cab file.
xTask also have additional German and Russian MUI files.

I am sorry for you - but this has nothing to do with a Bluetooth sync, because there are no alteration of the Bluetooth function.

The cab file is not locked maybe your program is faulty, and I already wrote what the cab file do.

Sorry, not really. That is the point of the Start Menu Replacement.
The original Start Menu loads allot of the icons, so that those files are residing in the Memory.
When you disable the Start Menu, you free up your Memory.
xTask Manager is not loading the icons that are called over the registry string - HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start. It loads only the icons that are stored in the exe files.
If you more like the icons in your original Start Menu, then just don't use the replacement.

That is a good suggestion. But you have to do this for every ressource, CPL and EXE so that it can be showed in the xTask Start Menu.

Installation
Download ROM and place on your SD card
Boot into xRecovery
Flash the attached file with xRecovery by using "Install custom zip"
IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY ON .435 FIRMWARE: Flash this with Flash Tool.
Reboot and be patient. First boot can take several minutes at the boot animation. This is normal.
On first boot you'll get a "Complete action using..." screen with LauncherPro and the Setup Wizard. You can choose either.
OPTIONAL: Uninstall the Setup Wizard by holding it over the trash can until "Drop to uninstall" appears.

A: It will work for either, but your "About phone" page will show X10i (See screen shot above).
Q: What is "zipaligning"?
A: Zipaligning is a way of optimizing an APK's RAM use.
Q: What will happen if I update a zipaligned APK?
A: The update will download and overwrite the zipaligned version.
Q: Does everything work?
A: Yes. That was my intent with this ROM: Provide high performance without loss of functionality. Everything that works in the stock SE ROM (Bluetooth, WiFi, Camera, etc) works in this ROM.
Q: Can you replace LauncherPro with LauncherPro Plus?
A: I can't, but you can. Just enter your product key in preferences. You can also install a different launcher like ADW, but you'll have to use TitaniumBackup or a root uninstaller to remove LauncherPro.

Zipaligning is a way to optimize an APKs RAM use. If you update an app, you'll lose this optimization, but I will keep current copies of all APKs in this ROM available. I will also optimize any other APKs requested.

It should support all languages that the stock SE ROM does, but I have only tested English. When you run the setup wizard after first boot, you can select whatever you want.
Great idea to make a basic speed ROM like that!

I love the ROM as its extremely fast and I can't wait for the you to get themeing. However I can't sync my contacts. Even if I try to force it from the phonebook it quickly crashes and then restarts.
Aside from that everything seems to be working great.
If you have any solutions for the sync please let me know as I'm on the road (I know I'm an idiot for flashing when I had to leave) and don't have any contacts or phone numbers memorized

Just spam the sync button in the contacts menu and it should start syncing. At least for me it did.
i have the same problem with the contacts, i can`t sync with anything, and i can`t restore contacts from an existing backup, please do something

It works as long as u have installed on your phone any one of the samsung flagship port rom (S6,S7, note 5,7) that has theme option in it.
Galaxy Note 4 - #chevyrhoads Grace port (S7 and Note 7 apps)
I installed this morning and ran the app, created a simple test theme and installed it.
When I go to themes the theme is there named [Dev_Only]Gadget Dark Theme. There are no preview images just broken image placeholders.
I have 3 options: Delete, Purchase, and Trial. Purchase says "This theme is not yet available, please try again later."
If I click on Trial the theme seems to load fine with the options and colors I set up.
Now the real problem...
I decided to load it up and try again thinking maybe it didn't install correctly.The theme installs via adb connection.
I load the program and get a message saying there is a newer version available, with 2 options: Exit and OK.
Exit closes the app and If I click OK it asks me to log in to my Samsung account, I log in and it takes me to a page that says:, "We’re sorry, the requested URL is no longer available: /common/getShortUrlMapping.do"
When I close that page it exits the program.
So frustrated with Samsung!
When this program first came out you had to send a request to Samsung for Dev status. I filled out all of the information and submitted. They emailed me saying that they were sorry but I didn't qualify for their program.
I am not a dev but I have been themeing Android since the Thunderbolt days, at one time I was very active in the Thunderbolt, Incredible, Rezound and S4 boards.
I give up.

YouThat just for you I find the solution.
For those who do not install it install Theme Editor but did not craft before cutting your internet connection.
For others who are already installed then asked that the update uninstall it and remade the installation then utillisation offline.:angel:
Im having issues with dialer, contacts theme to work. Any suggestions?

You have to theme certain parts in order for the previews to show like phone, contact, etc. I know in the different sections like message it shows preview image. It says DEV_ONLY because you applied theme from your computer. I go to menu and export apk and it creates your theme file and just install apk on phone.
Make sure your theme isn't applied and go to root/data/overlays/jsonfiles/trialjson. You'll see your theme and cut, paste into userjson folder. Then delete preferences folder in root/data/overlays and reboot. Then when you go to apply your theme, you only have the options to apply or delete your theme.
If you turn off wifi when using Samsung mobile theme editor you wont see that update pop up and it wont close on you.
Could someone tell me where to get the wallpaper files and sound files for my themes? Thank you.

Hi. I've tried it with internet off and it lets me name my theme and all that but after I click ok it just closes on me. I'm on windows 10 64 bit. Any ideas? Thanks

Well if it already said update and then you turned off wifi then that's probably why. Before you open Samsung theme editor make sure WiFi is off so it won't run in the background and detect update. Cause as soon as you open it it will say update needed if WiFi wasn't off. Hope this helps!

You upload your own wallpapers in wallpaper section of theme editor. As far as sound files go, I'm not sure. But I'm guessing you have to upload sound files as well. I don't edit that section.

You don't have to uninstall it, just restart computer or better yet stop the application and restart it when WiFi is off.
Also there should be another thread with updated Samsung theme editor.

No problem, maybe someone else will respond with another method. No I haven't updated to windows 10 because I will be getting a new laptop and hardly use it. I was hoping it would work but guess not, it worked for me.
Look around for the newest version. I have the next update from this one but its not the latest. Maybe there's a way to disable updates for it, I would look into that as well.
I finally did it!
UPDATE: The App is now fully released with the abiltiy to install packages with their dependencies and progress bar notifications on PC and Mobile! This app can now fully replace the built in App Installer and Windows Device Portal for sideloading apps

NOTE: I don't know if it's a bug or not but on mobile, when I open an .appx or .appxbundle, it asks me what app I want to use to install the package but it doesn't list mine. Maybe it's because I'm on the insider builds so please message me if opening the files works for you on mobile.
For mobile there's a workaround for this shown below. On PCs, the app works exactly like the built in app installer.

Oh wow running awesome in mobile... But some bugs showed up...
1. Sometimes install completes, but still showing installing 98-99% in app..
2. Scaling is not quite perfect.. Please fix scaling for portrait devices...

I can fix 1. and 2.
But I need help with the suggestion. I need a way to get the metadata out of the package. My app handles a StorageFile object so it's pretty difficult. I would only be able to show the app name and logo AFTER the package has installed.
Package installer is now feature complete!
You can now install packages with their dependencies and install progress will show in a notification (on all devices including mobile running on the creators update or above). Devices running earlier versions of Windows 10 will have the install progress inside the app like before but there are some notifications that pop up too.

There's gotta be a way... Built in App installer in PC can read those metadata... Can you investigate it?

It might be possible using the extended execution and the "extendedExecutionUnconstrained" restricted capability. I've released the source code so anyone could add it in. I'm done with the project right now. I'll just open it up as an issue.

There are some things that Microsoft know that they don't document. I'll open this up as an issue too. I've done research of my own but haven't found anything.
I can't seem to get this working in my Lumia 625, whichever app I try to install it just gives me a "The parameter is incorrect" I already installed the dependencies and have interop and cap unlock from Interop Tools, meanwhile Interop Tools can install apps normally (not entirely sure you were aware or not but that has also had the install appx/appxbundle option since a while).
On another note would there be any hope of you adding the option to also install xap?

pm me more details about your phone and what you did to get that error.
I'm also aware that interop tools has had this install feature. I don't know if it can show progress on the notifications like my app can though ?.
Lastly, no I can't add xap support. The API I'm using doesn't support them.
@EP1CNESSHD well this app did start on builds before CU, even on builds before AU, it allowed me to select an app and a dependency but when pressing Install both on a build before AU (10586.36) and after AU but before CU (14393.1066 and 14393.1715) it would give me the "The parameter is incorrect" error as I described, however once I managed to get CU (15063.297 and then 15063.608) it just started working normally, no error anymore, I didn't even update to the new build from after I reported the error (will test that one on 10586.36 and probably AU afterwards since you confirmed the Notification Extension requires AU soon) so my only guess is that something used actually requires CU, I'll have a look and try to find out what that is when I have some free time.
If anyone has devices on the anniversary update, can you try debugging the app on visual studio. You can clone the source code and even open the project directly in visual studio from github. The link is here: https://github.com/colinkiama/UWP-Package-Installer
Please report any errors you find while debugging to this thread.

After lots of testing and feedback, this app is now absolutely amazing for Mobile! Now on the Creators Update, you can check your install progress in the app and/or in your notifications. If you still have a Windows Phone with Windows 10 lying around then you should get this app ASAP!
[PC Users only]
On the other hand, Windows 10 for PC is still really annoying. PCs won't install any appx/appxbundle packages without their certificates existing in the "Trusted People" certificate store.
However, one person has created a working win32 installer that works around this. Unfortunately, they haven't finished it. Microsoft has made this unnecessarily difficult to sideload apps on PC without paying a lot of money for a certificate. I would love to see someone come up with a workaround for this that makes it easy for every developer to distribute their apps to everyone.

What's the metadata file (name) do you want to get from Appx file maybe I can help you, do you mean "AppxManifest.xml"?
I want a Msixbundle installed. Can this do it if I rename it to an Appxbundle?
SIM Number SetterSIM Number Setter is a small Xposed module that invokes normally unused Android System code to set the "subscriber number" on the device's SIM card. This is the number displayed in the system settings, and used in apps such as Google Messages, as well as being available to third party apps with sufficient permissions.
The number is not always set by carriers (leaving "Unknown"), or can be lost or invalid after porting a number to a different SIM.
This small app allows you to fix it, permanently, using a rooted device with Xposed.
If you don't have a rooted device, or don't want to root your main device, you may wish to consider rooting an old device, and temporarily putting your SIM into that device, using this app, and then putting it back in your main device - the fixed number will travel with it
There are some older Xposed modules that do similar things to this, but they are all abandoned and use methods that will no longer work with changes to the platform since then. This module should keep working regardless as it does not store the number locally at all, instead immediately invoking the change - allowing the app to be uninstalled after use too.
Important NoticeChanging the SIM number is semi-permanent: the number change will survive reboots, uninstalling this app, even switching the SIM to a different device, but can be changed again at any time using this app.
SIM Number Setter does NOT:
Change your actual phone number, no matter what you enter. You must contact your carrier if you wish to port your number or switch network.
Unblock a network blocked SIM.
Give you free data or calls.
Change your IMEI.
SIM Number Setter uses the built-in Android methods to write data to the SIM. The app nor the developer are not responsible for issues with the process, including any damage to the SIM or network issues.

Anything should work, so long as it's 20 chars or less and uses only numbers or +
works perfectly as described, in case of dual SIM just temporarily change the position to SIM1

Doesn't work for me, unfortunately. Could be because of OxygenOS (read all the issues, open and closed, in your GitHub repository and checked everything) but I'm not sure. Thanks nonetheless!

There's a report on GitHub of someone with a phone that came with MIUI doing the same thing, I suspect there's something different on those devices. Not a lot I can do without having the device to debug, as the logs don't show anything.

I really wish I could change that sim number. Man....

Make sure the module is enabled on LSposed.
Also, make sure Phone services is selected at the module.
Reboot your device and try again.

I've tested on Samsung S20, Xiaomi Mi11i and it works fine.
LSposed 1.7.2 (6379)
You could try cleaning the data from this app.
Thank you for this. I just ported my Mobile Number to another network and got a unknown number on about phone.
Just a question. Is the write procedure single use?
Can you re-write the field if you transfer numbers, or misstype, or, or or?

You can rewrite it as many times as you like, though I'd recommend trying to keep usage low as I doubt SIMs are designed for this data to be rewritten often. If you make a typo you can fix it though.
