[q] r.i.p. Htc hd2? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just got my HTC HD2 yesterday and I've been trying to personalize my ringtone, text message, etc. and then came across the "Themes and Apps" section. I looked through it, read some stuff and noticed that I could customize my HTC HD2. Wanting so, I went ahead and downloaded some stuff and dragged and placed it in my HTC HD2 and installed it. Then wanting to remove some of these themes and apps, I did. Then once I was asked to restart my phone it loads up the "stick together" banner and comes up to this orange "windows" screen and just freezes. Can anyone help? I am totally new and don't know what to do. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Once in a while, after the orange "windows" screen, it takes me to another screen saying "The device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an application from a untrusted source. Press the Volume Up to reset your device or press any other button to cancel. This operation will delete all your personal data and restore the device to its factory default settings." Is there anyway to fix this problem?

not sure if u want to go to through methods that "serious" but wipe and if nothings wrong afterwards u learned ur lesson; if not and still has issues; hit me up

Thanks for replying. But I have a question, how can I wipe if I cannot get into my Home Tabs, Settings, etc? I've been searching and others were talking about Soft Reset and Hard Reset, but how is wiping possible if I cannot get into my phone? Sorry and thanks for your help, I'm brand-stinking new to this.

solution
press vol up + vol down + power button simultaneaously and restart your phone, a menu will appear asking you to restore to factory settings... tap yes and there u go , evthing would be back to normal ...

Yeah, I've been looking at the android, but I don't want to mess up my HTC HD2 again, and when I was reading through the "guides" and "tutorials" of the android, it went through one ear and out the other. Had no idea what people were talking about, haha. But in due time, but if you don't mind simple-ing it down for me, I'll put in the effort of going over to the android side.

Help, My Lobster TV is dead!!!

I installed somet languanges support pack into it from PC, everything went fine, the PC screen said, install sucessful,, and the machine prompted to reset, and then,,,its dead!!!
The Lobster only now shows the virgin mobile logo,,cant even switch off...
What should do............???
Thanks a million!!!!!!!!!
Lobster is dead? it should be cooked!
Is the Lobster/monet ROM floating around somewhere ?
dead lobby
You've probably either sorted this by now or binned the phone but I thought I'd post anyway as it may help others.
You don't describe what you mean by dead but have you tried hard reset?
WITH PHONE SWITCHED OFF (in your case remove and replace the battery)
1. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys (i.e. menu keys).
2. Press and hold power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Release power button. Keep holding both soft keys.
3. After a while, black screen should show instructions asking user to press '0' key to reset to factory default.
4. Press '0' within the timeout period (which is very brief).
5. If instructions don't appear on the screen, repeat steps 1 to 4.
You have to flash it using it's original rom (for locked device).
but if you phone is CID UNLOCKED you can flash it using ROMIUPDATE. just put the phone in bootloader mode and run the RUU Update.

Hello folks. The friend of mine has screwed up his Lobster, and now he wants to take a dump from another one. The problem is, mtty says r2sd command is unknown... he tried to issue password command, but we don't know the peoper password.
Does anyone have the proper password for bootloader? Or better... does anyone have a rom dump? It'd be appreciated...

I've found this link...
ftp://koxoguest:[email protected]/sp/rom/Lobster_700_tv_os.rar
Its supposed to be the ROM for the lobster. I however cant get it to work as my lobster is stuck on a white screen during boot and cannot get into Activesync. Can anyone advise How i can get into Bootloader mode? I have tried holding Camera key but to no avail...
try taking out the battery, then heating the back of the phone for a while
I did that on my brother's phone(his Lobster "died" the same way) on a sunny day leaving it to heat up for about 30 minutes of sunshine
after that put the battery in and try booting again
OMG......
you can say it clearly
are you update the rom?
if so ,may be the word storage is broken

i almost ****ted a brick a few min's ago..
my device just stopped working it was real weird.. All was fine then i get a error msg saying that "Gyrator has encounterd an error" and BAM black screen. and no matter how many soft resets and batt pulls nothing worked.
so i immediatly signed on here..searched for about 30 seconds and with the 3 key press..all was good..device booted properly, configured itself, and im back on track.
Thanks,
Jstar
I tried the restore and it will not work for me. I can get to the boot loader screen, but it only shows serial and won't let me do anything else.

You need to get out of the GSM rom forum and go to the raphael CDMA forum. Anything you try to flash from here will not work on your device and my brick it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=465
Until you understand the difference between the two standards you shouldn't be flashing anything, as it will not be safe.

HD2 bricked

Hi, I was trying to flash my ROM with SSPL and a cooked ROM and now my HD2 is bricked. When I turn it on, the white HTC screen comes up and nothing more happens (except the back gets warm). I'm assuming that the little "void" thing below the battery area means that any warranty is void or something.
Can anyone help? Nothing I can do to it will make anything happen. Thanks all!
SSPL? Aren't you supposed to use the HSPL?

As far as I know the "void" thing below the battery is correctly in place. If it was missing - then your warranty would be void.
I would put your phone into bootloader and flash a stock rom.
If you have a european phone check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
If you have USA phone check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
Your phone is not bricked, you should be able to reflash back to a stock rom. To flash a custom rom you should use Hard-SPL, if you do this make sure you pay close attention to the directions, because a long time ago I bricked my wizard because I didn't pay attention to details
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606713
And if you have T-Mobile USA 1024 version:

Fixed my Aussie T9193
Hi, thanks all for the responses, I've gotten it working! I didn't know about getting the phone into bootloader mode FIRST, then doing the installations. BIG help, thanks to the collective wisdom!!

I bricked my phone after using "Task 29"... PLEASE HELP!
I just used "Task 29", my phone is stuck on the home screen and will not do anything else. I keep holding down the volume buttons and inserting a USB cord to see if it will sync to my computer so I can upload another ROM, but as soon as the multi colored screen comes up, it quickly changes to a white screen telling me to either press the vol button up for a reset or another key to escape it. If I press up it goes right back to the boot up screen and does the same if I press any other button. Is there anyone who could help me.... PLEASEEEE!!!!

[Q] Strange boot looping problem- Gt-i9100

Hi everyone! Im a noob here so I do aplogize if this problem has been solved/mentioned. Well, this is my problem: Ok so my stupid friends took my phone when I wasn't using looking and screwed up my pattern lock so I have to enter my email and password to unlock my phone, right? Well, I was busy so instead I switched off my device and kept it in my pocket. After an hour or so, I felt my phone getting heated up which was weird because it was turned off, so I checked on it and this is what I see: The boot animation was showing up and is stuck at the 'S' logo flashing bit with it vibrating occasionally, the 'menu' and 'back' buttons lights up once in awhile. Oh, and the occasion screen bright up. So i went ahead and tried holding the power button and the same thing happend but this time it lets me in and for a few secs..thn comes out to the boot animation again:crying:... So now I suspect that the lock process has crashed ...any way to fix it? The main thing here is that I need to somehow access the device long enough to copy my stuff to my computer. And of course, fix my well loved phone sorry if my post is very long.....Please help and thanks in advance!!!!!
Can you boot to recovery? (Home + Power + Vol. up)? If you can just do factory reset.
Ill try it, but will it affect all my files?
Your files should be fine. You will lose your app and user data but that's a small price to pay for fixing your phone.
if u can enter to cmwr, then u could make a nandroid back up. this way when u flash up a new rom you could try restoring only data information in advance options in Nandroid back up..
is your phone rooted?? do u have a CMWR???
if not, the only thing u could do is flash a new rom through ODIN.

Stuck in "Super Loop"

I just changed roms from Ice Cream Zenwich rc1.8.5 to MIUI 2.3.30. I was trying to get a custom version of MIUI (without the Chinese language) just for my personal well being. I ****ed up bad by not wiping data and clearing the other stuff. I attempted to flash right away and in the process of installing my batter fell out. (I have no back)
My phone turned off and it is stuck in some sort of install booting loop. I cant get into download mode or recovery mode. Odin will not read my device because of this and i cant really do anything.
I am lost at this point. Usually I can get the help i need on XDA but i just haven't found anything. If there is any way to get my phone out of this state please help me.

Hey! I believe I know of the "instal booting loop" which you are referring to. (I know this might seem like a rather silly question, however it's worth asking I believe) Have you by any chance tried removing your battery, and then holding the volume down + the power button, and then when the screen comes on, letting go of the power button while still holding the volume down button? The loop that you're referring to grants a SHORT window to enter recovery...I know because I've had this happen and it's not long before the phone auto reboots without entering recovery. The trick is to have the volume down button held down even before touching the power button so that the second you press down the power, your hitting the correct combo.
Aside from this, however....you really shouldn't flash down from ICS to GB without first returning to stock via Odin. That's bad juju my friend.
But hey, if this doesn't work, come back and let us know and we can troubleshoot. I know that my answer sounds obvious, but if what you're referring to is what I believe you are referring to...it's easy to think that you can't get into recovery, when in actuality, you can as long as you're approaching it a specific way.
I love you!
