Color of call and power buttons (TMOUS HD2) - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone and power button are currently red and green....with the middle 3 buttons white.
I've seen pics / videos online where all 5 buttons are either white or blue. How can I do this? Is there a guide anywhere or a thread on this?
I've searched but I'm unable to find it.

I know the buttons are green and red.....Thats the problem. I want them all to be white. How can I change it to be like that?

why dont we all go over and vote for the hd2 as the best phone for 2010 if it wins it will be the second year it wins. it started off in a slow start because the op added it a day after the poll began but with your help we can bring it to first.

[q] sgs2 vs sgs grey comparasion

Hi guys,
Can please somebody test for me if have similar issue as me...
I noticed that the grey on SGS2 suffers a lot in quality... more visible on reduced light.
I did create a file in Photoshop with fixed grey value.. as you can see from the screenshot attached sgs2 goes more magenta instead of grey+ plus there is a lot of noise too around this value R 100 G 100 B 100
As far as i know the grey is the most difficult color to display because needs to use all 3 leds in the same time...
Anyhow pls let me know if u also have distorted results as me!
Thank you
Yeah, my icons definitely look darker and has a redder tint to them side by side with the SGS. I've been informed that it has to do with Gingerbread as well, about how Gingerbread hosed up the colors.
I have exactly the same problem. All greys look pink / magenta. I am right now trying to replace my unit because of it.

Why replace it? It's not a fault with the phone. Your next unit will be exactly the same.
Mine looks grey. No pink tint

Except it isn't, as I don't suffer from it at all regardless of the brightness and background effect.
same here: no pink/magenta on the testpic. looks exactly the same as with my computer monitor.
that is very sad news, seems i need to change my device....
Carnt open that file ..
How do i test?.

the file test it is in a zip file, you need winzip or winrar to extract the file, after that you can copy to your device and view it...
Also, i made the test on another sgs2 device and they grey is as is supposed to be...
Do we think is a software or hardware problem this is the question?

I hate to say it but I suspect it's a hardware fault with some individual panels, although whether Samsung would view it as a fault is another matter. These screens are incredibly difficult to make and almost impossible to make every one identically, so it's inevitable some will be less than perfect even if that imperfection is only noticeable in certain circumstances (a grey screen in this case). There is another thread on here with someone having a yellowish hue line down the left of their screen when the screen is a certain colour -- another example of a similar issue.
Found it. Check the post out.

if that is the case, a lot of devices will go back... first sgs software was horrible, now sgs2 hardware? damn it samgung u`ve done it again!
Yep, nothing wrong with mine either using that greyscale test image.
Imagine its a bad batch of SGS2's out there somewhere.
Mine is grey, like the SGS pic in the Op I know what teh pink looks like as my Desire AMOLED version was pinked
Those with clean gray, can you please post what firmware/baseband version are u using?

LED notification questions

Any details on this would be good. Is it going to be similar to g nexus notification led which has to be the best, you can choise different colours etc?
Says RGB LED notification which suggests to me it can produce almost any colour.
That's brilliant, its a small feature but essential inmho. Not much info about this feature so thanks for sharing this.
I have found it kinda surprising that no on has touched on the led notifacations in reviews yet. The question in my mind isn't just is it an umlimited color palatte but also does it work before you pickup the handset? On the N1 you could see across the room that you had an email, text, etc. and this is what I'm hoping for with this phone. It has little point if you have to pick up the phone to light the led.

I didn't know some phones worked like that? I mean that you have to pick the phone up in order for the LED to light up... Which phones work like that? That sounds like a really dumb thing for a phone to do! The point of a notification LED is after all that you should be able to see the notifications without having to pick the phone up to check it, no?
I'm hoping it's like the Blackberrys. I miss BerryBuzz, had the option to set multiple colours to multiple events.
If its anything like nexus galaxy I will happy. Mind you had to root device only then was able to use the different colours.

I agree! Hopefully they would be more inclined to port BeBuzz over to Android once this device is out.

Get out!? When I looked up, there was this orange ball!
I think he's talking about color banding
Flickering grey lines I had it with PA. Noticeable on Facebook app. No such problem on cm.
If colour banding is what it's called.. That's it
I tried force GPU rendering and Hw overlays.. No Bacon.
Staying with cm.

If you're running a Samsung based ROM, all you have to do, to test the LCD, is Type
Code:
*#0*#
Try turning the device off and leaving it for a few hours, if the lines aren't gone, bring it back to your carrier or contact Sammy support...

I'm guessing it was region-dependent, though most variants were black/pink or white/yellow. I really wanted a yellow one but I read that white model was easily stained.

Question Display issue

horizontal stripes from any dark images and text
Likely either a blown display or mobo.
Was it dropped or exposed to water?
Use ScreenTest to further examine the display... to get a better idea of what it's doing.

the smartphone is new, nothing happened, otherwise everything is fine, except for the banding
This is the first time I see such artifacts, only horizontally, will it be possible to pass it under warranty?

Even more likely just Sony's notorious quality control issue.
Wait! They calibrates each single mark 3 display individually isn't it? .
I really think this is just effect of their personal screen calibration of each unit.
Or a side effect haha!
Now we know it was just marketing bull...

So it's happening to thumbnails of images/photos with dark color? If you post the direct link to the thread, some media might pick it up, which makes sony to fix the issue if it's a sofwware issure.

The lines go from the black edges of the images, in the photo after the black lines from the image there are lines further on the entire display, most noticeable on a dark background

If it's just happening to some images, it's most certainly corrupted image data, not the display itself. What if you open the image in other devices?
