Cooking Help Needed: Working on a HTC HD7 o2 NoDo ROM - Windows Phone 7

Hey all you ROM-cookers out there! I'm new to this thread but still I suppose I'm able to learn quickly.
For 2 days now I'm trying to find a way to flash the current NoDo ROM for the HD7 onto my Phone. It's an o2-Germany Phone with ID O2___102.
Here's my material:
- The NoDo Rom for HD7 HTC-Europe: from here (Flashable on IDs: HTC__001, HTC__203, HTC__102, HTC__032, HTC__405, HTC__304)
- The three Unbranding O2_DE ROM Files from Ansar: from here (All Flashable on IDs: O2___102)
they are:
* 1 - RUU_Schubert_O2_DE_1.61.207.01_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U_by_ansar
* 2 - RUU_Schubert_O2_DE_1.16.401.01_Radio_5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U_Signed_by_ansar (Which always leads to an error in the end)
* 3 - RUU_Schubert_O2_DE_1.61.207.01_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U_Signed_by_ansar
- An Original O2ROM from here
- An ominous ModelID.fig from the Ansar files (could it be, this is only an Imagefile?)
I worked with Hex-Editors, the NBH-Image Tool v1-2 here
but still: Everytime my created ROM gets stuck at 0%.
Here's what I tried already:
- Following this post I inserted the ModelID.fig into the HTC-Europe NoDo-Update Folder -> Stopped at 1% saying: Wrong ID - what a surprise! ;-)
- Change ID in RUU_signed.nbh and SPL from NoDo Update via Hex-Editor from HTC__001 to O2___102 and keep all other IDs -> 0%
- Change ID in RUU_signed.nbh and SPL from NoDo Update via Hex-Editor from HTC__001 to O2___102 and delete all other IDs -> 0%
- Unpack the original o2-ROM (RUU and SPL) via the NBH-ImageTool and repack it, try to flash it. Why does THIS not work? -> 0%
- Following this post and the ones after that I joked around with extraction out of and into the OS-Files. Nice Tools - but it didn't work out (See above- even with the original o2 ROM - just unpacked and repacked didn't work...) So no use here...
Here's my understanding of what should work and is my goal to achieve: If I unpack the NoDo-Rom with the NBH-ImageTool, enter the right CID and repack it - then it should update on my HD7 from O2-DE, right? --> It doesn't ;(
Got that idea from here.
Do i need the right O2_DE pvk file to sign my ROMS with the NBHImageTool? Do I get that somewhere? (Suppose: No)
So can anybody give me a hint what I do wrong?

I'm try this method's too... I'm have t-mobile hd7. =(
I'm wait unbranding rom, or i'm want try goldcard...

G'Day!
thx for trying...same here O2 Germany. Nothing has worked so far.
U should edit your topic since this is especially related to non O2 Uk devices.
regards
irm

good luck my friend, i can't wait for this

I also have trouble signing the ROMs to be flashable;
Even if its a ROM for my device's region, as soon as i extract it and build it again with NBHImageTool (without any modification), it become un-flashable.
You should probably ask this from ansar, as he has managed to do this. Although I'm not sure if he is willing to share what he know, but if you found out, please share with us too
You are also right about ModelID.fig being an image file. It does not contain any information that can affect the flashing process in anyway.

If you manage to figure this out, would you mind doing the same to make a T-Mobile US ROM?

you could try this.
use the SPL_signed.nbh from a rom you can flash to .
so the nodo .nbh(RUU_signed.nbh from the new c&p build) and the SPL_signed.nbh from a rom you can flash.

THANK YOU

Does this work for hd7 and focus

test post to see if it works

aaaarrrgghh
First of all, Hi
2nd, I decided the other day it would be a good idea to load the win 7 software using aMAGLDR V1.12.......I now don't like it and would like to revert back to win 6.5.
I've tried connecting the phone to my laptop (running win7) but it's not recognised. What am I doing wrong and where do I go from here to get the phone back to some form of normality?
When I get the RGBW screen it comes up with:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
Please help me, I am very new to this and will need things simplfying if poss :S
Cheers
Dan

I heard you guys are the ones to see if there is anyway to cook the files from the w7update that backs up your wp7 phone... has any of u guys ever looked into seeing if a selective restore or extracting certain files is possible from the files?
if i am barking up the wrong tree.... point me to the right tree...
thanks
nice to see the info here... its awesome

No Developments here. Wp7 Central is too quiet.

Final Upgrading Guide and Questions Answered

Ok... now this is going to be a work in progress and an answer to most questions...
To all pof, Des and Sleuth have done a great job in getting the tools together so we can flash our devices...
1. To all who want to SuperCID your device no matter what ROM version you have and no matter what Radio BootLoader version you have you can use POF's version 3 unlocker found here http://pof.eslack.org/hermes-unlocker/
2. Once you have SuperCID your device you can now load extracted ExtRom, OS, and radio roms (radio can only be done if you have radio bootloader 107 or less) to do this goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG
3. For all of those not interested in ROM cooking and flashing cooked ExtROM's all you need to use is des's SSPL tool... just copy it onto your device and run it... the SPL version should say SPL-1.09.des. The tool can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293651
4. Just to clarify... once you have flashed radio bootloader 108 onto your device it is possible to do Extracted Radio only upgrades please read edit 3 below..... to check what radio bootloader version a radio rom has goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms and radio only upgraded require SPL 1.04... for instructions on how to flash that goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG
5. if your device is unusable please refer to here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems
appologies for all the links but thats what the wiki is for guys... lots of reading but it is all worth while in the end...
and if ive missed anything feel free to add...
edit 1... The reason you SuperCID your device is to enable flashing of any SPL Bootloader versions, extracted OS roms, extracted ExtROM's and to an extent Radio ROM's (only if your device has RadioBootloader 107 or less).... but SuperCIDing your device voids the warranty... if your just looking to upgrade your device to a newer ROM and are worried about the warranty just use des's SSPL tool... read point 3 above...
edit 2... the SSPL tool... you need to copy this onto your device while windows mobile is running... if your device is not in a usable state refer to point 5... once its finished copying click on the exe and run it... it will put your device into a 'Service' mode and with bootloader versions IPL-SSPL by Des and SPL-1.09.ds... all you need to do now is choose which shipped original rom you want to use to flash your device with... see here for options http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
edit 3... now who wants the good news woo hoo!!!! i have managed to create an unsigned nbh file and flash it onto my device... now please all follow these details step by step
1. download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294046
2. download the appropriate Full Shipped ROM from either the Trinity or the Hermes of which you want to rip the Radio from
3. download this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_NBH
4. extract the RUU_signed.nbh file from the exe using winrar or something
5. open a command prompt and point it to the same folder where you extracted the files you downloaded..
6. run nbhextract to extract the radio rom... delete all other .nb files except for 05_GSM.nb
7. edit the text file for nbhgen and delete all information except for this
HERM100
SuperCID
1.23.707.6
USA
300,05_GSM.nb
8. run nbhgen.. this will generate the nbh file required to flash your device...
9. copy SSPL to your device.. refer to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293651
10. execute SSPL on your device which will put you into the 'Service' mode,
11. now run the RomUpgradeUT.exe file... and your done!!!!!!!! any questions just ask...

Hello all,
I am a little confused about the issue of going back to BL 0107 if you flash Radio 1.33 + or Rom (say) 2.05 because you end up with BL 0108.
Isn't it true if you use Des's SSPL tool you can flash any ROM, so you can flash an older ROM, then you end up with older OS, Radio and Extended ROM as well as IPL and SPL??
Also if you use Boot loader 1.01 MFG, then upgrade individual components using MTTY??
With the latest developments over the past few days, it looks like Hermes is now an open field where one can try whatever combination as long as you can boot into service mode or Windows.
I would appreciate a comment from the developers confirming or explaining the current limitations.
Simple.
Please Answer if you are sure
Look !
my tytn have bootloader 1.09 and during upgrade it stopped , that is to say my phone das no OS so I cannot pass "WIndows Mobile " Screen unless I upgrade fully upgrade rom . I have read and tried all suggested ways but they are not useful , because bootloader 1.09 checks CID but my CID is corrupted .
I need a way to pass CID check same as SSPL . but I cannot copy any thing to phone . The only way which can help me , is a file which able to pass phone's CID check from PC .

1. If you have radio bootloader 108 you cannot downgrade it...
2. Yes its true but that still wont downgrade your radio bootloader.. it will just downgrade your radio, os and extended rom
3. yes that is correct
4. current limitations read this... http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes

ok now you have to open an mtty session... download this ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Cooked_ROMs/SPL-1.01MFG_Pack.zip
1. Disable 'Allow USB Connections' in Activesync
2. Open mtty.exe
3. type \\.\WCEUSBSH001 in the port section and click ok
4. press 'Enter' twice and type task 32 and press enter
4. type info 2 and tell me what is displayed...
What about writing an app which fully identifies all Hermes specs? It should open a message box and answer whether device is SuperCID, which IPL, SPL, RBL, ROM, Radio and if readable which ExtROM. Wouldn't that be nice? Every noob could give all the information viable for all others to help.
well if the user was to go and look at the device information application in 'Settings' > System then can find out what radio rom version they have when in turn if they look at the table in the wiki they can tell what version of Radio Bootloader they have... but i will investigate writing a little app... shouldnt be too hard...

Just to be clear:
Can you put the new "RUU_signed.nbh" from step 8 above back into the full RUU....._ship.exe using Winrar and run it that way too?
This is very cool! So we can change to any radio ROM (upgrade or downgrade), but technically we will still have radio BL 108, but who cares.

Hi Walshieau,
After I follow your edit 3 step, when I try to upgrade the radio,
it shown Error 262. What's that error message for?
Thanks
did you copy SSPL to your device and run it before you started the upgrade???
Am I right in thinking I could mix and match all the components with this tool?
I.E. extract the o.s. from one full update then extract the radio from another, then use "NBF generator" to merge them and flash them all at once?

Help after flashing Softbank X01HT can't use to call

i have read n search from this forum for this problem but not at my real point.
i have done flashing my X01HT softbank with this thread
but the rom ver. JASJAM_wwe_1.31.305.2_1.31.305.104_1.21.31.10_ship.exe
i use NBHtool to make my own
1.IPL.nb,SPL.nd and RAdio rom i take from HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a (HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh)
2. PrimarySplash.nb ; SecondarySplash.nb ; windows(OS) i take the orginal JASJAM rom(i used up there)
3.ExtRom i take from extracted from the orginal rom (RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10)
(Or is that i make a wrong?)
all look normal after flashing (the signal show up and all the program) but the problem is i can not still make a call.
The reason i flash it was the original in japanese and it was lock (asking password like that). I don't know japanese at all.
Oh ya,i'm from Indonesia, before this problem appear i use it normal with my gsm card (My region card)
I dont why a few week ago this problem came by him self.
Note: I haven't ever flash it before yet.
so this is the 1st time.
The radio rom before flash still ver.1.14.00.10
after flash (u know lah ver.1.16.00.00 --> HermesUnlocker_v3a)
can anyone help me?
ups i'm forgot
from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281617&highlight=X01HT+rom+english+version
Or this is the other lock mode?
the first lock i have got was asking a password bar screen.
but sometimes u could see the desktop but only 2-10 sec appear then screen lock with password again.
after flash, hadn't shown that.very normal. The signal appear normally.
but i just couldn't make a call.
it said "operation fail" or
"can't complete the call. The signal maybe unaviable or the phone number maybe not valid.Verify the number or try again later".
and so was like that if i sent a sms.
just that.So...can i say that still lock?
How to solve that?
DONE. horeeeeee.....Success,i did it!!!!
My job done.
I have flash n unlock it.
With this JASJAM_wwe_1.31.305.2_1.31.305.104_1.21.31.10_ship .exe
see this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281617&page=24&highlight=X01HT+rom+english+version
but make my cooking rom.(maybe u can say i just choice some part from the other rom)
i use NBHtool to make my own
1.extract JASJAM_wwe_1.31.305.2_1.31.305.104_1.21.31.10_ship .exe and HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a (winrar)
2.decompile nbh file (HERMIMG_CDL_1.31.305.2_SHIP.nbh) and (HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh)
3.Compile again but
IPL.nb; SPL.nd and RAdio rom use extracted from HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh
4. PrimarySplash.nb ; SecondarySplash.nb ; windows(OS) i take the orginal JASJAM rom
5.ExtRom i take from extracted from the orginal rom (RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10) ----> and this is my mistake.
I test with ExtRom from JASJAM ----> it work.great!
So i just take all except IPL.nb ; SPL.nb and Radio rom ---> extract from HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh
After that the Compile file copy to folder that u extract JASJAM rom but delete the HERMIMG_CDL_1.31.305.2_SHIP.nbh file.
5.conect your softbank.
copy SSPL-HERM.exe to your Softbank then run it(from your PDA off course)
note : If screen USIM show always just reset it,after desktop show up,in 10 sec before USIM screen, open explorer then run it.
U'll see 3 color background (i think u know it)
6.flash it.
7.Just follow the instruction, but when it ask to choice an operator region,i just cancel it.(i did'nt tried if i choice it.i think i dont need it)
After that enjoy it.
but the problem is u cant use 3G
see the other thread to solve it.
Make a question n answer it by my self....hahahaha.....
Just for share expreriance bro....
wuahhh lucky you
i have two x01ht one before and the other one post April
unlocked one but another one still cant unlock
pls contact me if you have any idea to unlock it

Unlocked done!!! Thanks Pof.
But the problem is... i bought another x01ht with radio rom 1.46, how to change to radio rom 1.14 or 1.16? i want to change the radio rom to 1.14 or 1.16 because i think with radio rom 1.14 we can unlock x01ht with HermesUnlocker_V3a.
does anyone know where i can download radio rom 1.14 and 1.16?
i was tried to searching in forum and i got it, but when i installed the radio rom can not be changed from 1.46 to 1.14 or 1.16
thanks and regards,

Urgent - Please help!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am in a hurry so have no time to search and investigate in this mater by myself for now!
I have flashed several roms in the past, right now I am running RomeOS 1.40
However I have now sold my device and need to revert to the original rom and SPL!
I have the Swedish rom, but the problem is that the file I have is RUU_Signed.nbh I dont have the wrapper or what it is called so that I can flash my raphael!
Also, do I need to SPL lock the device again? and if so how do I do that?
Last but not least, after flashing RomeOS, I got alot of information on the first screen (You know when you first start the device where it shows the radio version and everything!) But the problem is that I have tried to flash other roms but the information on the first screen is still there!
How do I get rid of it so it looks like the original?
Hope you know what I mean and how to help me!
Thanks in advance!

The wrapper is included in the attached file along with the htc splash screen. the original spl also in there so do the following:
1- extract the zip file and put the customruu + your RUU_Signed.nbh in one folder and run that to get your original rom
2- put now the customruu + htcsplash together and flash to change the splash screen
3- Now use the spl tool to revert to the original spl

1- extract the zip file and put the customruu + your RUU_Signed.nbh in one folder and run that to get your original rom
2- put now the customruu + htcsplash together and flash to change the splash screen
3- Now use the spl tool to revert to the original spl

Stock SE ROM

Hi, i need to remove HSPL and wonder if anybody have a stock...i mean stock rom for Sweden (SE). All i found is broken links. From HTC Sweden 1.48 and 1.66 can be downloaded. But we started out on 1.43 and i guess thats what i need to get rid of HSPL.
HTC Support site?
Try downloading one of these from HTC Support. (You will need your serial)
Then start the upgrade utility, follow instructions until you need to awknoledge you have read the warning in red.
Now in your temp folder there will be a folder containing the ROM (RUU_signed.nbh). (in my case the folder is named pft100.tmp)
Copy the ROM to a safe place
Close upgrade utility.
Now follow instructions as in Flash guide:
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
This method removes HSPL!!
slightly simpler ways to get the ruu_signed file
right click the rom.exe choose extract here
or
right click the rom.exe and choose open with (winrar, winzip ro whatever)
or
right click the rom.exe choose rename and change the extension from .exe to .zip then double click the file to open it with winrar/winzip whatever you have installed.
however you dont really need to extract the .nbh file anymore, you can run hspl2 and choose 1.66.0000 (or 1.42.0000) and then when it has done hspl is now gone, and you can flash the rom over usb by running the .exe.
Also, , Leo Official Roms thread, first post first link, , the 1.48 and 1.66 folders both contain SVE stock roms.
Thnx for your quick and detaild responses.
Why i asked for a official 1.43 or old Swedish rom was because i have done the steps above (Exept using HSPL2) and when i boot (with volym down) nothing happens, text is saying serial on boot screen.
Now, im using the first HSPL (perhaps the first ever to come out) version since my phones is old now (almost a year =). Could maybe this fix it, and isnt HSPL2 for us modells of HD2?

nope, hspl2 is for regular hd2, , the first one that you have only supported 1.42.0000, hspl2 supports all spl versions. HSPl3 is for US tmous hd2 (and telstra).
Downloaded HSPL2. Installed Swedish stock rom 1.66 and used HSPL2.... it worked, incredble. Thnx for the help all.

Sorry mate, no idea it it will work for Mozart branded from Orange France, but i can definitely tell u that there was french language to choose when the phone started fresh after upgrade. This 1.30 rom is not branded.
Ok, here is how i got it working for me (T-Mobile Germany Device, 1.25 branded stock rom):
1. Download 1.09 rom from here
2. Extract the 1.09 rom to a folder, let's name it 109
3. Download 1.30 rom (u can find the link in the first post)
4. Extract the 1.30 rom to a folder, let's name it 130. Use WinRar to extract the 1.30 rom's exe file - right click on the file and then look for extract entries of winrar
5. Download ModelID.zip from here
6. Extract ModelID.fig from ModelID.zip and place it into the 130 folder.
7. Reboot your Mozart Phone to Bootloader mode (Switch off then hold Vol. Down and Swith on. Release Vol Down when u see rainbow background)
8. Connect your Mozart Phone to the PC and wait for the Drivers to be installed. You should see USB written on your Phone.
9. Go to 109 Folder and start ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Go through it with next, next, etc. Let your Phone upgrade the firmware. After it gets to 100% Phone reboots to Bootloader Mode itself (and ROMUpdateUtility.exe states an error, but well, it seems this error wont bother us).
10. Go to 130 Folder and start ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Go through it with next, next, etc. Let your Phone upgrade the firmware. After it gets to 100% you are done.
Good luck upgrading!
Edit: To the question about backup - flashing wipes all your data, so u will have to download and sync all the stuff again. I have got an app from the market, it let me download it again i hope at no charge after i signed in with my live id. So again - get all important stuff backed up before u flash.

Critial is that ull have to use the TMODE 1.09 ROM
it wont work if you start with TMODE 1.25 and try to flash HTCEU 1.28
after you installed the 1.09 rom, ull get error and phone gets back to bootloader, you can then install HTC EU 1.28 without getting invalid vendor ID
i have also used the same modelID file to flash HTCEU 1.28
HTCEU 1.28 is 7004
i unlocked with chevron before configured with zune
prevented relock
started Zune Config -> Febuary Update (
after that was finished i looked for update in setting, Nodo was found...
it made a backup of my unbranded chevron unlocked 7008
NOTES:
bootloader 1.26 is the last bootloader without color branding.
i highly suggest you to install HTCEU 1.26 to avoid color branding
because after ZuneNodo update my Bootloader is still on 1.28
so i didnt got the Autofocus Feature i was hoping for
i got all files nessesary and may mirror them some day...
good luck
