[Q] Can anyone create a flashable Rom dump of the HongKong firmware? - Xperia Play Android Development

My play is bricked, after unlocking the bootloader, i did an OTA update that says theres an update, 1.84. after download and starting the update, my phone restarted and hangs there for a long time. Than screen turns off. From than on, I'm unable to on the phone.
SEUS can detect my phone but doesnt allow me to flash, stating I have modified files in the phone.
Flashtools can detect my phone. i created a flashable file from files created by someone in the general section and i couldnt flash.
Someone please help.
Thanks!

I tried extracting my firmware myself by using my fren's play and using the PC companion to do a "repair" but in the midst of the update, the prog prompts that the software in unable to install and run..... something like that.....

My device is bricked too I have no phone to use for about one week now. Can anyone help us please.

Does any of you guys have the files grabbed from SEUS?
Will try and see if I can make a suitable file in FTF format for flashtool that you can try.

I can as I have a spare set from my friend.
I cant grab from SEUS cos it states I have modified files and wont let me flash.
When trying to do a repair using PC companion, it states there is no files available for the phone now.......
Is there really differences in hk and uk sets? or maybe theres someting that can be edited or added to the uk generic flash file to make it work.....

I don't think there is an issue between the two versions.! But it would make sense to test this. So if you can get the blobfs files, we can try. Can you upload somewhere, and post or pm a link.

I'm unable to get any files as stated above..... maybe gotta wait til SE has an updated firmware....

Yea, I had that problem sometime back. At that time PC Companion repair worked. I Un-installed both went back to SE site and downloaded SEUS again. This version now gives repair option.
i´ll try that and post back here.
edit:
i uninstalled both and downloaded from SE but i still can't get that repair button to appear. i´ll just stick to the flashtool and the backup from SEUS i have.
thanks for the help man.

[Q] Reflashing back to carrier-specific SE 2.1 using SEUS

Hello all
I have been playing around with custom roms and using generic basebands, but lately I need to get back to SE's carrier-specific 2.1 because I believe I have some local carrier settings that I need in order to properly send long sms and mmses. I've used SEUS successfully in the past to repair/reflash.
However after starting up SEUS for the first time in some time, it scans and checks my phone in flash mode and then tells me I have the latest software, but there is no repair button, only an 'exit' that when clicked closes SEUS. I recall vaguely that there used to be an option to repair or reflash? Can anyone help me by giving me some instructions as to how I can reflash using SEUS? Is there some button that I missed? Or is there no such option in the latest version of SEUS?
thanks very mch in advance!
PS I'm not using PC companion as every time I try to repair, after going into flash mode and it says it is 'downloading' the update, it always tells me that 'there is no software available for your phone right now' midway into the process.
Have u used flashtool before? U can use it to get back to 2.1. Its in the development section of the x10 forum. Its on page 1 or 2. Sorry i would post it but i am away from the computer. There is a howto guide by rendeiro2005 inside the flashtool link. Good luck. Will help u wen i get up in the morning lol

...Or, maybe you will find your operators' firmware here and follow the steps in the thread to flash it.
NB! Note that it is 1.6 firm, but after flash u can update to 2.1 in the normal way trough SEUS or PCC.
Yeah I used flashtool in place of seus for flashing eventually, but I need a carrier-specific fw.
Thanks G-face for the link but there isn't a Singapore one. Is there no way to reflash using SEUS now?

Seus i believe will give u the latest firmware. It wont put u back at 1.6 if ur phone is already debranded. Sorry i cant help u. I didnt know ur carrier had its very specific firmware. If i come across the help u need i will post it.

what rom are you running on? i had exactly the same problem a couple of days ago with beta4 installed.
you need to get back to any 2.1 stock rom, then the SE update sw will let you repair your phone.
i had an old xrecovery-backup from the latest update to bb .54, i flashed that via xrec and then it was no problem to repair with pc companion...
I think you can search for the last files SEUS downloaded for you and then flash them back with flashtool, e.g. in my case SEUS downloaded 2 big files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs
One of them is ~150Mb and the other ~15Mb.
Then all you have to do is decrypt them with flashtool and create a bundle to be ready to go. I hope that works for you.

I think I encountered this issue when I tried to play around with the SI number. I managed to get back to my original firmware when I changed my SI number to World Generic, then repair the firmware via SEUS then root and then change back the SI number to Singapore one.
Try this and let me know if it works for you.

+1) use the app root explorer, set to R/W, and long press on build.prop file, and open in text editor. Then edit the CDA number from generic back to Singapore. It is repeated twice maybe three times. For example, the x10a global generic is 1234 - 4820, and to change back to X10a Brazil is 1234 - 4836. Save and close changes. Reboot phone.
Find the folder where you saved the Update Service on your pc. Go into the folder and delete the contents of "db" folder. This will wipe any data so Update Service will have to reread your device and download the appropriate firmware for repair software.
Turn off phone. Run SEUS. It Will say that you already have the latest software. REPAIR ANYWAY. DONE!
Below is the link to the thread with all the CDA numbers and detailed instructions.

Um, That's because your not running Sony Ericsson firmware anymore.
To get back to stock 2.1 either "repair software" via SEUS or PC Companion, or restore your xRecovery backup if you made one.
There doesn't seem to be a 'repair software' option for me in SEUS, after checking phone in flash mode the only thing I get is 'exit' :/
Ok, then use flash tool 0.2.9 and flash global generic firmwar. Both found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Then you can root with the flash tool, and then modify build.prop.

Drivers

Hey all i flashed the ki4 stock firmware yesterday no worries. Now i cant flash anything else - wont flash rotted ki4 kernel or anything it just fails everytime. I reinstalled drivers on laptop too but still nothing. Every now and then when connected in download mode it says could not connect device even tho box goes yellow in odin. Any ideas?

might help
First off you dont need kies running just installed on your laptop\computer its only there to facilitate usb connection so you can use odin to put new frmware on.
Try putting cfs rooted ki4 on first again to obtain root then try other customs (most come with rooted kernals) failing that im stumped
Oh aye dont whatever you do format your partitions in cwm or odin ull loose your bootloader and will need a jig thingy to get download mode again. I was gonna try it till i read that info sumwhere on xda lol glad i nevva.
Anyone feel free to correct first paragraph im sure its correct but.....?be missing abit or add e tra
Paragraph three sure is right lol
Aaaaa jus reread u post lol rotted umean rooted ooopps i english took word litrly lol skip para 2
Also if anyone can answer if you do reformat partiton and let it finish unlike the thread i read earlier today can you still access phone to put firmware back on aslong as you have backup efs exetra... through odin just asking might help motorsport too
This thread was posted in September 2011. I'd say you're a bit late to the party.

[Q] St15i Update Question

Hi all,
yesterday i flashed my ST15i Mini the SEUS and Flashtool way, SEUS checked my Phone and downloaded the files then it says it wont flash because i have not orginal FW. I make the FTF file with flashtool, put in information on Device:St15i Version: 4.1.b.0.587 Branding:Global
and unchecked the option disable verification check
After flashing (all went fine) i connected phone to pc companion and it tells me there is a new firmware out 4.1.b.0.587
so what did i wrong
According to my knowledge, Seus will check the device first and then only download the firmware. if it says you have a modified software then it won't download the firmware. If I'm right you must have decrypted the old update from the seus folder and flashed the old (.431) firmware again so only it's prompting you to do the upgrade.
I might be even wrong so better backup the firmware files from seus folder and delete them from seus folder. Then try to do the upgrade. And see whether the firmware files are created again.
Hit thanks if I helped

ok i cleared the folder and connected to PC Companion, it downloaded new software and stopped before flashing, flash aborted error 2003.
Ceated new ftf with flashtool and flased, and now all is fine.. companion says i have newest FW installed..
Thx for your quick reply and help
Happy to help!

ok i figured ou, the downloaded FW was not the problem, it´s the Kernel i flashed Kernelpanic 1.25, then update tells me i have old version, so thats why it was only 14 mb
dont know this information is important for any one else

Extracting stock ROM?

In short, I got the very new S3alpha (Japan only) a couple of days ago, tried to root it, ****ed it up. I can still flash in Odin, though.
My friend just bought the same phone, on the same network. How do we go about extracting his stock ROM, so that I can flash it to my phone? If I wait for official firmware to show up online, it could be months. Seriously.
Anyone have any experience in this?

That is not the GT-I9300 or 9305 if it was from here that could be why you bricked.
Now thats out of the way try checkfus downloader it allows you to download firmware from the Samsung servers, Faryaab at least knows how to dump firmware as well if you can't find one.
And finally don't Flash anything from here or you will brick the S3 alpha had different hardware the only place you will see roms and rooting is on Japanese sites.

You will have to adb your friend's mobile and pull all the files inside the system directory.. You can then extract the modem using adb or terminal emulator.. The commands are there in my guide.. I don't know about the boot.img though..
Search for it.. Once you have everything create a tar archive with it.. There are many guides for it..
Or you can get all the above files from the nandroid backup of your friend except the modem.. Extract modem separately.. Then pack it in to a tar archive.. Flash with Odin..
Most importantly your friend's device must be rooted before doing any of this
Do a proper research first..

It sounds like I'm screwed, then. I don't imagine there'll be a rooting solution for this phone for a good while yet (no one bothers to work on methods to root Japanese variants). That's why I'm in this situation in the first place; I was trying to root the same phone. Boo hoo.
The reason I tried using standard S3 methods was because those same methods work on the Japanese S2LTE. I was under the (false) impression that they must be fairly interchangeable.
Why asking questions in the general forums?. Thread moved.
