[KERNEL][XXKI8][AOS_FIX] SuperPower BACK TO UPDATE2 SRCS - Galaxy S II Original Android Development

Hey flashers
Netchip´s kernel was terribly, there where thousand and one bugs.
Such max overclock to 1400 MHz, no GPU overclocking, bad scripts.
Scripts who works not, it was one big drama.
But it was also great, light, quick, not one fancy kernel.
TEST version dont have all features!
Netchip is not responsible for damage caused by the kernel and / or device.
If you encounter problems using this kernel, in what a way, I am not responsible.
You flashed the kernel, it is your responsibility.
This kernel is very very unstable, and not tested

And here I come to introduce my new kernel .
It is not a big drama, it is super, fixed some bugs by Samsung, CPU overclocking to 1.6 GHz, GPU overclocking, BFQ v2-r1, BLN, bootlogo, bootanimation and much more in the future .
I am inspired by Hacre, Chainfire and HellcatDroid.
Hellcat is very kind, and helps me with ex. the compile issue.
Also Hacre was nice together me, ex. the CPU overclocking code.
But now further on the kernel, the features
-ATT sources with 2.6.37.14 kernel
-Bootanimation support, place it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip
-Bootlogo, place it in /sdcard/getin, and give it the name, logo.png
-CPU overclocking till 1.6GHz
-GPU overclocking
-BFQ v2-r1
-Removed other schedulers
-Instant root
-Busybox
-Clockworkmod 5
-KI3 initramfs
-I use the "hidden" p12 partition as tmp, so if bootlogo dont work, lemme fix it
-Compiled with AOSP 4.4.0 toolchain
-BLN
-Init.d support - /system/etc/init.d/
-EFS backup script
-Touchscreenfix set to 5 - thanks to vitalij
It is newb friendly, you can flash it via Odin, and all is installed
Thus flash it via Odin!
Flash the BETA version only if you know what you do.
Bootlogo
I have made this bootlogo for you:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You can install it by making a file: "/hidden/bootlogo_netchip"
Reboot the system, and let it booting further.
If you want to go back to stock, flash stock firmware or take standard bootlogo and copy it in "/sdcard/getin/logo.png"
Future idea´s:
-Version with CFQ
-Fix bugs

Here you go

Update7: Tuned a lot of I/O settings, CPU settings, GPU settings
Update8: CPU tuned
Update9: KI8, rebased on ATT sources with 2.6.35.14

Always nice to see new stuff surfacing in our forums.I'm gonna be trying this one soon.
One thing though.Have you also included any GPU voltage controlling scripts or something?Because having the ability to "overclock" the GPU is utterly useless unless we can up the volatges a little.Next available frequency is 400MHz(make no mistake, nothing else between stock 267MHz and 400MHz works.Clock values must be 800 divided by an integer),and that needs some more juice than the stock 1050mV.With Tegrak's app I used to use 1100mV just fine.
Apart from that, all seems good.Good work man.

Hi netchip and thanks for your work.
Is BLN support inserted?
You haven't written it in your kernel's features

Yes, it is included, but I have forgotten one file ...
I update soon.

OMG, already 36 downloads

Is there a maximal filesize for the bootlogo? What do I have to do for the yellow triangle and the Galaxy S2 bootlogo to disappear, and show the custom logo instead?

I dont know about filesize (check hellcats thread), the resolution is 480x800. If you have yellow triangle, remove him with chainfires idea.
Edit: it is 100KB

You can only overclock the frequency not voltage, hence Hacre's script for GPU is useless. The only real viable solution for GPU OC is in combination with TegraK's module.

Maybe i´ll try later, reflashing orig ki3-kernel now.

great rom as usual!! これからThJapさんのROMお世話になります。ありがとうございます!ヽ(´∀`)ノ
Thanks again for the rom.
The power control widget doesn't display properly.
Also, the GPS doesn't work very well for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've used the GPS fix for Japan, and I've used the gps.conf from the stock rom. I'll do some more testing though.
edit: Nevermind, it works everywhere except near my house.
Your theme looks supercool
Gonna try your rom today & will report
Cheers
Not sure if every one has this problem but. I get force close on facebook (android app) and gmail. Also I can't register my facebook account on timescape. When I accept the terms there should be a log-in screen but that doesn't show up. Twitter works.

Finally flashed the 0.4.1 version, smooth and fast and everything works & I like the theme. Only slight lag in messaging app(for now) and "reboot into recovery" option in xperia reboot options app doesn't work(it just normally reboots the phone). Also I wanted to add power control widgets but it added an empty useless widget.
You removed all the wallpapers ?
May I have the wallpaper from your screenshot? I like it
Thanks

No, it's just a software on computer which flashes the phone, you don't have to go on the recovery and manually flash the rom, just plug your phone, launch Auto-flash and wait for your rom to boot.
alternative install
if u are on a rom without media usb mode or if u do not like autoflash u can unpack autoflash.rar, in autoflash folder find boot46.img and update.zip. Copy update.zip to sdcard, boot device in fastboot mode, flash boot46.img, reboot to recovery (press home when blue light come), chose install update.zip, done.
lzyllp - thanks a lot for porting to ray, waiting a long time for latest doomlord recovery
First impression:
i used manual installation bcs i did not have media usb mode on miui. wha i can see everything is working so far, i have not used the camera yet.
but there is somethning less stable than it was on aire kernel (both on aire kernel for stock and miui), i could without any problems overclock my ray to 1600 and undervolt heavily, on this kernel i got often random reboot on 1600 without undervolting, 1200 is working ok, now i am on 1400 and testing
thx again for the great rom, kernel and cwm.
In power menu reboot to recovery does not work
THANKS!
You have created an interesting thing, I and fans of RAY - thanks you so much, the kernel has USB-OTG support effective, a ROM version works faster, I think you'll be more noticeable improvement in next time. Thanks you so much!^^

yepp, it works, 1400 stable without uv so far, going higher now
Edit: 1500 working, when i try 1600 device reboots, as i wrote before sligthly less stable than aire kernel for my device. Now i´m trying uv on 1500.
Edit 2:it´s better and better, i found out that i need to have 806mhz on 1050mv otherwise device reboots on 1600 as top frequency. in another thread an user wrote that his device has "weak" point at 768mhz, maybe every ray has one frequency there the voltage must be hold higher, strange behavior
great rom!!

Dual-Boot instructions and Notes
If you want to have another ROM as secondary ROM, follow these steps:
1.Make a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
2.wipe everything and install the other ROM
3.Boot the ROM and make customizations. Don’t forget to reflash SiyahKernel if the ROM flashes another kernel.
4.Use CWM Touch Recovery to clone your rom as secondary rom.
5.Restore nandroid backup
6.To boot from the secondary ROM, either press the HOME key or the VOLUME DOWN key when prompted.
Some notes about dualbooting:
■If you do not make any cloning you won’t be prompted to boot the second ROM.
■you may need to reflash this kernel after a nandroid restore if your nandroid backup is created with another kernel.
■you won’t be able to use mass storage mode for /sdcard in second rom because we have our data and cache partitions on /sdcard. only external sdcard will be mounted if you are using mass_storage mode. mtp should work fine for sdcard.
■once again, you won’t be able to flash any CWM flashable zip to second ROM.

That is what it is designed to do. It works with my MIUI from miuiandroid and Criskelo. That is all I have tested so far
Just installed on AOKP, everything seems to be working as usual....... with OC/UC/UV options
I'll continue to test throughout the day to make sure there aren't any ill effects, but it looks like this is gonna be awesome!

[TIP & TRICK] to get Better Battery Life
GUIDE TO GET BETTER BATTERY LIFE
WIFI: Turn off wifi when not in use. Navigate to setting>wifi>advance>keep wifi during sleep and choose only when plugin or never.
NETWORK: Navigate to setting>more and choose gsm only in network mode when not use 3G. Also use manual search mode.
SOUND: Untick 4 box at bottom in sound.
DISPLAY: Set brightness to 25% to get better battery life cause the major battery drainer come from screen. Use dark wallpaper or theme due to the fact that one black pixel does not consume any battery.
CPU: We can customize our cpu to our personal optimized system. As we now that underclock and undervolt are the great combo to achieve better battery life. I personally not recommend to overclock more than 1.2Ghz cause it can damage our phone. I personally prefer SetCPU for control cpu but this is the outdated version. Go buy another one on play store. Combination of smarta**V2 and sio is perfect for well balance to get better battery life without sacrifice performance.
SERVICE AND APP: Freeze any app that not in use like maps and facebook with titanium backup or simply remove any unwanted app. This will optimize our system giving some battery juice. Also dont use too much widget cause it also running in service. Use only needed
SYNC: Turn off auto sync in setting. This is because that auto sync will running all the time and at the same time our battery flow like water.
OTHER: Turn off gps, google location and google backup the get extra juice in battery.
Use BetterBatteryStats and CPU Spy to check what your phone is doing.

Nope. I have using this script with combination of sirkay's kernel and the result is battery drain only 1% when idle in 8hour 30minutes.

ciao, first: Ty. n,n aomm this won't work on stock rom?
What specifically does it do to improve battery life?
I've been through the scripts and, while nicely coded, they seem to be not much apart from a collection of other scripts (which you mention - I'm not suggesting you're trying to take credit for other's work)
Is there something I've missed? The only thing I can see is delaying writing of data to the disk is delayed a little bit, but nothing else stands out.
Cheers,
Tim

No need unsupercharge. If u have already supercharge script in ini.d let it be.
I using sio as scheduler, smartassv2 and clock at original speed 1ghz. Undervolted to -25, lower may cause instabillity.

[KERNEL][GB]oxydo-zcf-03[2.6.29.6][11TH JUNE, 2013]

Okay. Some of you may know from the ZCF threads that I had been working on a GB kernel for the ROM. So here it is. This is a collaboration between the ZCF ROM and my team.
If you're wondering why a new GB kernel with features from 2.6.32.6, here's my answer:
2.6.32.6 isn't perfect yet on GB. Although nAa has said he's working on a fully working version, I feel it's better to have a taste of what it would be like to have 2.6.32.6 on GB. Plus his kernel would be directed mostly towards JB users, but mine is only for GB (although it can be adapted for JB). Plus I ran into some problems with my last thread here, regarding placement of the thread. This does not fit in either of the General, Q/A and Troubleshooting or the Themes and Apps section. This is not in the Original Android Development section because this is not really original if you don't consider backporting or porting original. So this is in the Android Development section.
Features:
- nAa-GB kernel built with Codesourcery toolchain (going back to the roots).
- AHB overclocking backported from 2.6.32.6 (may drain battery, but it will definitely be worth it; ultra-smooth performance and I am not kidding about this).
- SLQB.
- SmartassH3 and Deadline included and set as default because they provide best performance despite stupid benchmark scores.
- WiFi modules from nAa-JB 2.6.29.6. Needed them as a solution, because the GB modules weren't building.
- FPS uncap (hardware vSync is turned off; software vSync is still enabled though).
- Synaptics DT/NoDT switch to enable/disable DT on synaptics panels.
- Frandom built-in to ease random generation yet using less of the kernel's entropy pool.
- VDD interface for undervolting.
Not working as of now (11-6-13):
- You tell me.
Installation:
1) If you're coming from a JB kernel or 2.6.32.6 kernel
- Perform a Nandroid backup. And if you're going to restore to JB, make sure to format /system, /data and /cache again before restoring.
- First format /system, /data and /cache from CWM recovery.
- Flash the kernel in Flashtool as you would normally.
2) If you're coming from a GB kernel
- Perform a Nandroid backup in CWM
- Flash the kernel in Flashtool as you would normally.

Bug-hunting and fixing
1. 806MHz is repeated in the frequency list. This is not really a bug at all, just a slight glitch. The first and second frequency differ in some clock rates. I recommend the second one although both will work.
2. WiFi doesn't work on some ROMs because they use a different modules path. Easy fix is to copy the modules over to these directories and insmod them. Or for a permanent fix, help me create a list of ROMs that have such paths and their respective paths.
SDE - /system/modules
All ROMs based on SDE - /system/modules
I need something all these ROMs have in common that cannot be found on any other ROM. That will be a check for module-copying at boot. Need your help, guys.
3. Doesn't work on @tiestobunio's ROMs. I haven't tested any of his/her ROMs. And someone mentioned it didn't work for him. I honestly don't see why. Haven't tweaked anything in the ramdisk that may possibly cause this.
Changelog:
9-6-13
- Initial release
- AHB OC from 2.6.32.6
- SLQB slab allocator used instead of SLAB
- FPS-Uncap (hw vSync = OFF)
- Several other minor changes.
10-6-13
- Added the Synaptics DT/NoDT switch
- Frandom built-in.
- Undervolt module added. This fixes undervolting for now. But I'd still like to have the VDD interface. Apparently that didn't work out. But read on.
11-6-13
- Fixed the VDD interface. Tick Undervolting and use this interface.
- Removed Undervolting module because VDD interface is functional now.
Wishlist
- Integrate TWRP.
- Include BFS scheduler.
- You tell me!
And Finally perfect kernel. Rock on !!!
