Well, they're both pretty stable. If you want a working cam in 5mpx go with the cm6 otherwise i'd say minicm7. Both are stable for me. There were however a few issues with FMradio for me in cm6, kept hanging, might be fixed now though.

after trying almost every rom around here, my humble answer is the stock rom 2.1.1.A.0.6. it's solid, very fast and very stable. you can do a little retouching in order to reshape it, so it fits easily your needs for sure.
still, i think i'll try the new updates of minicm 7, if they can cope with the camera problem and some other little bugs.

yes, you can change the launcher, use what you want. actually, imho, 4 corners is a very nice idea. similarly, most of the launchers have 4 or 5 buttons at the bottom. but, one widget per page is really horrible. you can't put shortcuts too. so, i use launcher pro
I used all MiniCM roms.. But, i have experienced many Bugs, crashes, unresponsiveness... So, atlast, reverted to SE.. Nothing beats the Stability of SE 2.1 in anyway..... This is only my point of view.. Its upto you..

exactly. i wish experienced users interested more to develop official versions. using newest version shouldn't be the main purpose, at least it's not mine. new versions are staminal for sure, big thanks to all developers. but speaking of real life, i need a solid system, as flawless as possible.

I will love that. The other day I was asking me that, why developers do not improve the Official SE Release instead, but thats just my point of view. But great works they do.
Even though Minicm 6 and Minicm 7 have various of bugs, but both of these roms can still be considered stable and will not cause too much problems in daily uses. Its a great success breakthrough from the xda's developers to create these two roms and we should appreciate as we can get it FREE ! It good to try 2.2 and 2.3 on the mini's as its no hope to get an updates on the stock rom~ =(

i think you evaluated our opinions so differently, even wrong.
it's not about paying, either how valuable or how important developers' works are. there are lots of people, can pay for custom roms. samsung has started to send their new models to the freelance developers.
we didn't judging custom roms or their developers, i personally have a really big respect for the developers and their works, i appreciate them. if a custom rom were more stable than the official one i'd use it. moreover, i'd pay for it. if 2.0 were more stable than 2.1, i'd use it too.
speaking of the problems, you're saying "not cause too much problems in daily uses". according to which criteria? are you a businessman, am i an fbi agent, how much phone calls we do, are we users of twitter or facebook?
do we need to clarify "stability" or "more stable"?
everybody has own expectation about a phone. for instance, i like very much minicm6's boot animation, but the boot screen is somewhere at the bottom of my expectation list. if i experience some troubles as i speak on the phone, it's a very big deal for me.
similarly, i think f1 cars are incredible, but i don't use one of them, i can't. an f1 driver doesn't want my car too.
i chose x10 mini, neither desire, nor iphone. everybody has own preferences lists and we must respect them.
cyanogen mods, minicms, f1 cars, htc desire, iphone, official se rom, they are all wonderful products. best regards to their creators.

you can download the latest official software from support section @ sonyericsson.com. probably you get a file like Update_Service_Setup-2.11.6.12.exe about 40mb. then you can install it via pc. before that, you should backup your personal data of course.
In my opinion the most stable is original 2.1.1.A.0.6 or the newest "C", because the camera app and radio app.
If you want better camera and radio app use original SE with JIT and remove apps, patch with UnderVolting module and mddi fix (i think that is not needed but...)
If you want the highest 3d score and quadrant -> minicm6
If you want more 3d score than original but lower than minicm6 and better battery duration and stable -> minicm7
Then this is for me the stable list (most on top):
-SE 2.1.1.A.0.6 or "C" version
-MiniCM7
-MiniCM6
it's my opinion.
I'm trying to do a Frozen Eclair (froyo VM on eclair) but i don't now how, there is may roms with that on moto.

i've just realized that there's an official software update from 2.11.6.12 to 2.11.7.13. they must have published it in yesterday.

MiniM6. A stable, faster than all official, no bugs at more than 70 additional installed applications. MiniM7 more faster, but not so stable, have problem with hardware support, quickly discharged battery. Imho.

Hello People, I'm Moon And trough my world of android have i gotten lowend devices for own use. i love them because they're so cheap and still Great.
I have come from the GT540 Optimus to the ZTE blade and now the x8,
(I kept the Blade trough.) I am a big fan of Racht and his sense ports, what i want to ask you people for, since Racht seems to have disappeared should we do what developers and friends of him do. We finish what he started.
Most important is currently The GL Drivers I think, Maybe some RAM Management. The free ram is very low. (about 40\50mb) This causes Rosie to reload after coming from other apps. this would be cool to fix.
I asked XDA MEMBER # Kenia1234 (he ported it to the SGS)
About 3d\open gl and wifi. this was his reply.
however as regards 3D I fixed it using my device's libs under system/lib/egl or under /vendor/lib/egl and of course using a CM7 powered kernel...
as regards the wifi, it's a little bit more complicated...you'd need to have the bins of your device under /system/bin and the firmwares all in order, as the kernel wants to...

I think he needs a little rest...
racht said that he will port HTC kernel and that means fully working Sense rom as soon as he's back.
I don't know where he is or what is he doing, but he's on xda often. (last activity today).
And I think he's getting Xperia Ray - his post here. Also that's the last thing he posted.
Anyway, the man will spoke, and we shoud donate to him a new device if he's selling his one. To continue development. But, we need to wait until the man spokes!!
I appreciate racht so much, and I hope he doesn't forget our X8.

The Ray is the best Choice after the Arc, For me, Since i like big screens.
But yes. Lets just hope for the best. the Guy i updated on, (On the op) is doing GB sense too. We should let Racht Rest and hope for the best.
In racht's last Sense Port there is a lot of bugs. I really love that rom but it has a lot of bugs.
I was without SIM Card and in the Notification Bar it was showing that i used %S(something like this) tries for the unlock key and blablabla.

First of all, a word of thanks for the countless posts that have helped me before in my search for solving a problem. I have a rooted HTC Desire HD, so these forums always come in handy.
After having bought the X10 Mini Pro for my girlfriend, and she having spent months with it, I have to conclude that the stock rom is simply too heavy for her machine, and constantly resets, etc. Last night I decided to root her phone, and after having successfully done so (thanks for the threads again), I installed GingerDX Pro v17 on her phone. And even though I can see that it runs smoother, it's still nowhere near acceptable.
Of course I made my queries, and searched for a decent answer. And yes, there are countless forums in which this question has been asked before, but they always get multiple answers and none contains the golden ticket answer: which rom runs the smoothest on this phone?
I myself am running Cyanogenmod-7.1.0 on my Desire HD, and it couldn't run any smoother. I know I cannot expect the same from a old X10 Mini Pro, but I'd like her phone to at least run a bit smooth so that she doesn't have to wait countless seconds for apps to open.
Summary:
* Phone: X10 Mini Pro (not the new one)
* Rooted
Question:
* Smoothest rom to run on the phone?
I don't really care about the battery. As long as she is able to get through the day, then that's perfectly fine. The original stock didn't even manage to get through the day.

Indeed. Minicm7 runs a LOT smoother than the previous ROM. Seems like the gal is content, since she's not complaining .

There is no much difference amongst the 2 ROM..u may refer the thread fo that.. N zombie panik is a custom kernel made by slade87.. We need to unlock boootloader n then add the custom kernel.. But if u not familiar with it do read spiderx thread for instruction or else u may brick ur phone.. U may use gintonic.SE without the custom kernel as wel.. U just need to flash the modules additionally for it.. Read gintonic.se thread ul get an clear idea..
Note: create a backup before flashin.. incase u go wrong.. Coz its u gf's phone.. U wont like it to get it bricked..
Please don't get angry with this, it's not meant to be offensive, but I don't understand why some guys obsession with modding means they take their girlfriend's phone. Many of these guys break them too. I think it's a technology obsession gone too far if modding your own stuff isn't enough - you have to take other people's things too.
What does you girlfriend think? Does she really care? Or does she think it's slow only on your advice?
If you have to, MiniCM and GingerDX are the best around (still supported by devs) in my opinion.

the best rom i have found is cyanocream sandwich
I'm using the clean 2.1.1 rom and i'm totally satisfied with it. It's very stable and lightning fast.

I think CyanoCream Sandwich V2.0 is very smooth and crisp and it is stable.
But, sometimes little bit hard to install only at first time and FMradio is not functioning.
So important is a girlfriend's hobby nature and his skill of care for girlfriend

ICS BETA is the best so far. CM7.2 and CM9.0 is too buggy for me yet. (IMHO)

Yes but not this kind of question. Clearly you post it at the wrong thread. Why don't you put it on the sticked thread above? And again, none is the Best. It comes down to each person's experiences, and it is not kindly enough to compare something that's been done for passion, with silly ranks. If all ROMs are paid version, you could ask such a question. But it is free so it is ethically not allowed to compare them all, it just makes some war (as i have seen it before on X10MP forum). Try yourself and read all the testimonial. Read before ask will never hurt.

Its just a Kernel or ROM the guy is asking...There wont be anything too sensitive or emotional for Dev if someone helps him choosing a ROM...

Not hating the ROM mind you, just the theme.. And you know me all along since the first mod i popped here, that i kept the theme as stock as possible (at least in rhythm with stock theme), and later you mod the theme for any other. So you knew how much i love sony theme (or too lazy to do a theme of m own) ..
Yes it is just a phone and how nice it is if everybody has the same mind like yours. The thing is, majority of human is human, they like to idolize something and when different peoples with different mind comes together, war..

Well, all I can say is your not yet ready to install custom rom. Unlike any other brand of phones, Sony has a locker bootloader. You have to unlock boatloader first which will void the warranty to install custom ROM.
I'll give you a tip in choosing rom.
1. Go to each rom's thread, read the rom's description first, see if the phone features that are essential for your everyday usage is working as we all now that each has their own pros and cons.
2. Feedbacks, just read feedbacks. It will give you the idea if the Rom is for or not.
3. Number of post, check the number of post. More post may actually mean that many people are using that rom.
Go find it yourself. It's not easy to give comparison as it may hurt the developer's feelings reading some bad comments about their hardworks.

In real i like this topic ... i was reading many things around any Rom ... same with kernels and that's good, what we all together can speak about them all in one place. Coz if u can see, each time when any Rom will be updated, makers did new Topic about it, well why we can't talk about things like that, like new Rom's in one place? For many Dev's it will be nice place too, coz they can see what ppl's like, what they want, for what they downloaded for example MIUI and not Cyan.
Iam interested in this topic, coz iam trying to find balanced Rom, just needed app's in it, everything is working and smooth ... and thats my question of the day, what Rom and kernel(also baseband) draining battery not so fast?
For example on same Rom what i have now iam tried different options in build.prop
pm.sleep_mode=2
ro.ril.disable.collapse=0
but made one mistake in same day iam changed baseband ... and if before my Rom take for whole night 2% of my battery ... after this moves i got 3%.
Today iam trying new baseband and we will see what i can have then.
Well its good to know about them all, i mean Rom's .. and iam tried many of them, last JJ's rom, MIUI from iriijo and bla bla bla. And all what i can say, they all bugged, GB more stable for now and everything is working nice with repack from 4pda .. for nice view i use Go laucher Ex, its overclocked and bla bla bla. I like it, but i love Torch from MIUI with home button and many small things like that in any other Rom.
Well this topic must live, i hope soon we can read here more info and maybe someone can offer to me, how to make my battery life better, coz my phone can stay without charging just 1 day ^^ and one guy at the 4pda forum got 3 days and 14 hours, used 2g(but it was on), not 3g ... used internet, listened music, used wifi also ... i think even 2 days like that should be perfect, but why i can't do the same ?^^

Coz if u can see, each time when any Rom will be updated, makers did new Topic about it, well why we can't talk about things like that, like new Rom's in one place? For many Dev's it will be nice place too, coz they can see what ppl's like, what they want, for what they downloaded for example MIUI and not Cyan.
Iam interested in this topic, coz iam trying to find balanced Rom, just needed app's in it, everything is working and smooth ... and thats my question of the day, what Rom and kernel(also baseband) draining battery not so fast?
For example on same Rom what i have now iam tried different options in build.prop
pm.sleep_mode=2
ro.ril.disable.collapse=0
but made one mistake in same day iam changed baseband ... and if before my Rom take for whole night 2% of my battery ... after this moves i got 3%.
Today iam trying new baseband and we will see what i can have then.
Well its good to know about them all, i mean Rom's .. and iam tried many of them, last JJ's rom, MIUI from iriijo and bla bla bla. And all what i can say, they all bugged, GB more stable for now and everything is working nice with repack from 4pda .. for nice view i use Go laucher Ex, its overclocked and bla bla bla. I like it, but i love Torch from MIUI with home button and many small things like that in any other Rom.
Well this topic must live, i hope soon we can read here more info and maybe someone can offer to me, how to make my battery life better, coz my phone can stay without charging just 1 day ^^ and one guy at the 4pda forum got 3 days and 14 hours, used 2g(but it was on), not 3g ... used internet, listened music, used wifi also ... i think even 2 days like that should be perfect, but why i can't do the same ?^^

@OP... Every ROM has its own features... Depends on users choice or features he/she wants... it just takes 15 mins to check a ROM and its features... try each one by one and stay with the one that suits u more...

I would have tried the ROMs myself if it was my phone. Itz not my phone. That is why I asked for help, otherwise I would have never asked.
I have tried all possible ROMs for my HTC Wildfire.
P.S. I have unlocked the bootloader.

I'm just looking for a stable, light, snappy ROM. A ROM which has proven it's worth. As little bugs as possible, no experimental features!
And also a kernel which fits best.
I would like like all hardware functions of my phone to keep working though:
Camera/Video, hardware keyboard/lights, vibrate, tactile feedback, etc...

You will get a bunch of different answers as each rom runs differently depending on set up and apps. To be honest looking for a rom in a development forum and you will always find things to be experimental. XDA is not about finding stable bug free roms. It is about learning and development.

I don't entirely agree. My previous phone was a HTC Desire, there were a lot of experimental ROMs, but also a lot of stable running ROMs.
I agree that most ROMs will always be a little experimental. But there's experimental and experimental ... If you know what I mean
What I'm trying to say is, I would like to have a ROM which is made by someone who really knows what he's doing and not just some barely tested ROM which will crash every 5 seconds
As for me, i havent try another ROM on my phone cos most has Bug.... have been using NeroDroid ROM since i bought my phone & i havent for once regret dat!!! i keep praying for tha Developer every blessed day for making a wonderful ROM!

I understand that but really this is development forum for developers to try out things that may cause issues or even brick a device if you don't understand exactly what your doing. This always has been and always will be the case. Just be happy that the devs even offer fixes unlike a few years ago when it was up to the users to dug in and fix issues they come across. Flashing custom roms should never be taken with a grain of salt or done cause people think it is cool or fun. We all should be hear to learn. If your not learning something when flashing then it really is a waste if time.

I understand yhu brov..... its a Development Zone, yhu create something & others test den drop feedbacks & yhu try to improve on it... but some still have bugs even though its an update of tha former.... Also its not easy formatting & customizing tha phone back, thanks to titanium backup for restoring of apps!

I have some knowledge about the proces of flashing roms/customizing phones. I just had more for my previous phone. Everything is a little new for the minipro.
That's also the reason I'm looking for a lite ROM, less potential problems to encounter
if u want really a light rom u could try pro-x rom, it is not posted here in xda, but if u type it on google u could find it on that guy website

In my opinion if you want a light & stable ROM you should stick with stock ROM. Thats what I have done. I just removed all the bloatware and unnecessary crap that I will never use, it has the best battery life and you don't really have to worry about it crashing. Also, I used Rage Kernel as it provides amazing battery life. To make my life easier I installed extra MODs that are essential. Just look at my signature for all the stuff I have installed.

You're right, but I would like to go one step further, I would also (maybe) like to get rid of the Sony apps. Like the Sony launcher, text-app, ... and start using the android default apps.
Is this also possible to remove those system apps from the stock rom?

Yeah, if you are rooted you can do anything you want! That's what I have done, I removed most Sony stock apps and replaced them with the 1s CyanogenMod supplies (which is stock). Some apps I kept the same due to they look nicer!
To be exact, the only thing I changed was the Phone, Contacts & Messaging apps. Everything else I kept the same

The ones, that are CyanogenMod.

Thanks for the lead. The PRO-X [ROM] is working great in my Mini Pro (SK17i)

I tried three different ROMs in the last one week before settling on this one.
Cyanogenmod 7.1.02 - Didn't work, faced the boot loop problem.
MIUIv4 2.4.6 - Nice UI, but phone felt sluggish and video play was jerky.
4.0.2.A.0.69 Generic (PreRooted) with 66 Baseband - Camera flash was not working.
But finally, PRO-X gives me everything I want - a light, snappy rom with fully functional hardware and no bugs (so far). Had it for two days now.
==> Rage Kernel v2.8 + Baseband 64 + PRO-X v2.2 ROM
