[Q] Rom does best: smooth, stable, long energy use? - Optimus One, P500, V General

- I also joined the meeting shortly P500, shows some very good cook rom as: CM7 6.5.x, 1.2 cruzt ginger, void forever, sonygen. (their ability to assess the stability, smoother and longer energy use), Ginger was probably meet your requirements.
- But this is my subjective assessment, can you help me find what's best rom with these factors?
- If possible, ask you a comparison of scores for each rom. I'm sorry to disturb you.
Thank you very much.
I like most GingerCrust v1.3, OC like my signature and see this:

wait to next release of phoenix-android ROM by Andy and download then try it , brother

andy rom the rumors say very smooth, but it is energy.

i am using openoptimus, full stable rom...

bugfree is void

one vote for .cm7 6.5.8

Stock froyo or devoid froyo, comfirm bugless and best battery life.

Okay what is better eugenes super i/o
or team whiskeys 1300 overclocked kernel?
dont care about battery life though
Depends on what you're looking for.
Eugene's kernel is "stock" while tw's oc kernel is I9k based.
If you want speed, I'd suggest ttabbal's voodoo kernel (or one of the new stock voodoo kernels).
"if you amplify everything, nothing is heard"
I'd go Eugene's or the Voodoo. Less issues, as some phones can't handle OCing.
Team whiskeys d.o.w with axura and oclf works great

I'd never risk my file system for a higher quadrant score but that's me. Ttabbal's voodoo kernel or Supercurio's mass injected voodoo stock kernel for the Vibrant would be recommended. Lower quadrant score, but still very fast and more stable.

Some phones doesn't even support overclocking and your phone may freeze.
Now, since you are asking and not testing yourself, you are most likely a novice to low intermediate user. I wouldn't screw up with OC if that is the case. Also being based in a I9000 kernel, some other issues may and will araise.
Also Vodoo is fine, but brings a new set of issues (like forgetting to disabling it when flashing something else. Quadrant score is insane, but it does not mean the system is actually faster. Quadrant is not a very safe messure right now, it is only used because is the only one available.
These both kernels, will eat up ypur battery pretty fast.
eugenes super IO, seems to be very balanced, Does not bring the excitements nor the headhaches of oc and voodo, a great performance (i've been using it for a few days), do not feel any lags, no lost directories or any other weird thing like freezing, missing icons and the such, and an excellent battery life.
These are my 20 cents in the matter

Well i tried all of them bro and i found that i liked Super IO, and DOW14 came in second truly nice kernel fast and powerful with the oclf!! soo give dow14 a try if you dont care about battery life
The weird part of my phone is that on 1.2 and 1.4 ghz it freezes and the on 1.3 ghz its perfect?

[Kernels] Overclock kernels for stock 1.2 [2011-05-13 update BFS version]

Using this kernel is at your own risk. Before flashing make backups!!!
=========================WHY===============================
dalingrin is now working hard at CM7 kernel, and seems nobody has post the 1.2 overclock kernel, I'v recompiled the 2.6.32.9 kernel with a few of dalingrin's patches(modified from dalingrin's git).
so for the one who wants to taste some fresh meat, here it comes~~
=========================WHAT==============================
http://sugwacee.dyndns.org/index.php/16.html?p=/20110505
there are four versions:
1.1GHz
1.2GHz
stock 800M
BFS test version(1.1GHz)--for test only, cos it is set to very low voltages just for my NC. use it at your own risk.
1.1g version is recommended, and if your NC is a tuff one, try 1.2g
changes differ from stock 1.2 kernel(2.6.32.9):
1. freq table changed, boot 900M, and has a 1.2G/1.1G option. you can active it by using SETCPU. now let's go to youtube...
2. volume tweaks.
3. cifs and utf8 supported.
4.freq transition latency tweaks.
5. volt down.
6. ram speed tweaks, i don't know if it works or not(stock1.1->1.2 has change ram freq from 166M to 200M, and i am using a kernel which configured it as 220M, and if stable, i will post it) -- in BFS VERSION
7. BFS sched. currently i have BFS as the proc sched, all crazy(with quadrant 3D/2D improved slightly~1 fps up at DNA test, and excellent touch experience). but wifi has gone(kmod version issue maybe) -- fixed, thanks to verygreen.
==========================HOW==============================
And of course, use CWM to flash the new kernel, just enjoy them. first boot after flashing will display an "update failed notice", turn off and then on to ignore this.
Just feel free to post feedbacks, and you can post your file:/sys/power/sr_vsel
special thanks to:
Dalingrin, for his great patches and works for NC/CM.
Verygreen, for the wlan_drv and too all the CM related works.
=======================[2011-05-13 EDIT]=============
Add BFS version.
because BFS version use a new tiwlan_drv.ko, if you change back to another kernel, do remember use NC_stock_1.2_restore_wlan_drv.zip to restore stock tiwlan_drv.ko.
===========current feedbacks============
1.1g seems to be stable for most of people. but I still doubt of it:
quadrant sometimes stop at running H.264 benchmark, I do think it has something to do with the DSP freq/volt, i have recompiled a new version to confirm this. release ASAP.
thanks,,,, will give it a try,,, 1.1 g gives me a quadrant score of 1581.... the stock 800m gave me 1261,,,, big difference in how the nook feels and responds , good work...
Edit: just ran 3 more times and got 1700+ every time !
Nice work.
1.1 is working great on my Nook.
Working perfectly for me so far. Thank you!

was that with 1.1g ? or 1.2g?
1.16GHz.
my NC will crash at 1.2G(if no volt tuned up, same as the Dalingrin' Eclair OC kernel. i prefer batterylife first,so i locked it at 1.16G, with stock volt level), fine enough, youku(sth. in China like youtube ) acts perfect.

so far so good. no bluetooth i guess? pardon my noobiness.
Excellent! Been waiting for this OC kernel. Tested 1.2Ghz (unstable) and 1.1ghz(stable) on dual boot partition running BN 1.2... it would be great to see interactive governance profile enabled and a working BT inject! It is noticeable speedier with the OC kernel.. might be replacing my Nookie Froyo with this setup.

Great work, have been waiting for this since I rooted 1.2 and all I need now is a little speed boost. Keep it up.

incase that someone's NC is unstable with both 1.1g and 1.2g, for restoring
how's the battery life?
My stock rooted 800M is pretty decent: 6+ days with 1 hour of usage each day.
Undervolting with 1.1g in the best case could be a wash in terms of battery life?
Mine is unstable at 1.2G but 1.1G works great. Thank you very much. Now only if I can get rid of this youtube not working on my rooted Nook 1.2

not very sure. you can check the battery life.
a few days later, i will do some clean up and release a new version(which is much stabler, with most of stuffs i mentioned), that one would to be the same as stock one(i mean battery life performance)
bugs with youtube?
I noticed that the only two members having problems with youtube have also overclocked the NC: ehcan and HTCF4N.

maybe sth. to do with dsp volt, i guess, same as the H.264 issue i mentioned at first post.

oh wow i thought it does ,and yea my quadrant runs 1300 , when i do it 2nd time
always ignore the first results on those benchmark apps
but i agree that people need to stop obsessing with these things, data2sd could give you high scores but the phone would lag so, if you can cheat it doesn't mean anything.
I used data 2 sd, and got a quadrant score of 2600, but phone started to lag. don't worry about the score, i mean, once you've seen yours get that high, the novelty wears off
Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI using XDA Premium App
I agree. Have achieved 2839 with data2sd and 1603 without, but you have to spend 5 minutes changing all your settings about to get this plus it burns through your battery. No one would actually use the phone like that. And you have to keep lots of memery free so either few apps installed or all on SD and it takes ages for them to appear again on reboot.

I agree that benchmark scores are not important in everyday use and that u can have great scores and laggy phone, BUT his question stil stands.
Why does he get low scores at same setup that most people have graet score?
Nevermind the benefits of high scores, what is the reason?
3 things....
1) he needs to close useless apps ...
2) move quadrant to sd card (with app2sd)
3) run benchmark 2 times ... 2nd result should be around 1300 on custom roms ...
if you got still really bad performance, maybe your sd card is slow/"old"

on Wolf's CM 6 my score (Quadrant advanced) is from 1350 to 1550
_
and another strange thing is:
my work mate have x10. we bought it from the same operator. he bought it 2 months after i did.
We both, at the same time, installed same custom ROM (Wolf's CM 6). We followed the exact same procedure (after SD format and repair via PC Companion) and without any exta apps (only Quadrant) instaled i have much better Quadrant scores, he has some issues that i dont have, my battery lasts almost twice longer.
Strange, is'nt it?
But, on the other way, he has BMW M5 and I have Mazda 2, so I think this is fair.
it all depends on how you did your initial charge for battery. did you use it right away, or charge it right away for 5+ hours? ask your mate what he did
Sent from my X10x using XDA Premium App
As far as I understand electonics, battery condition can have influence on battery life, but not on benchmark scores when both of batterys are completly full and on the same setup.

Depends on your firmware. The older builds use back plus home, the newer ones use home plus power, cyanogenmod uses its own screencapturing method.

My device is SHW-M110S running Gingerbread 2.3.5. The screen capturing for my device is back button + power button but when in quadrant it goes back to quadrant menu. I also tried other button combo.

I'd really like to screen cap the results.

Which rom gives you best battery life on your oneplus 2? etc..." I create this thread so you guys can talk about your current daily driver rom for this phone. Why you choose it? Let constructive discussions begin!

The smoothest and fastest rom I've ever used on my phone so far! It's quite stable as well. And it's Nougat! I love halogenOs 7 !:good:
Why do you reserve an post in an discussion thread? lol
at the moment I use DU with Bensschold's kernel. Imo, its performance is lower than slim6 and it has some freezes/crashes. I'm not planning on changing until xposed gets released for nougat. I recommend slim6 rom with boeffla or bensschold's kernel. Excelent performance, even with viper4android and screen off. (I get a lot of stutters on DU)
CM14 by @Seraph08 and Benschhold kernel give me best SOT and battery. ( stock kernel too)
