50% calls - the other party can't hear me at all - HTC Titan

What a surprise, approx. 50% calls received are total failure and shame at the same time.
The other party cannot hear me at all (!!!).
I can hear the other party well and clear so it's not "out of range" problem IMO.
Brand new device, 6 days of usage, the newest ROM.
Anybody else?

Returned the device, back to my almost-perfect SGS2
I'm not beta tester anymore, it was the worst phone purchase ever.
Good luck with your Titans, enjoy them if you can and good bye!

I'm having the same problem, my rom version is 1.08.
I think I will call HTC support, I like the titan and I want to keep the phone
Iosu

Good luck then, they should fix it asap. Hopefully it's not hardware problem and new Rom will fix it.

You got a faulty phone. My Titan is working perfect. These things happen and every phone manutacturer has returned phones. In fact Android phones are the most returned at 14%.

i had the same problem when i recived my Titan, but i called my carrier and found out my sim card was 8 years old, so i got a brand new sim card and now all my calls can be heard from the caller maybe wp7 is tuchy to old sim card?

I have the same problem sometimes, only the other way around.. I call someone and they answear the phone but the phone is totally silent.. can't hear nothing! After almost one month of using Titan I've suffered from some really stupid bugs..

I have the same Problems, HTC Titan Provider O2 Germany. I bought the device on friday. Sometimes peole can´t hear me at the first time.
When they call again they can hear me.
Sent an Email to the HTC Support.
Do you think they can solve this problem with an Update?
And those who having this Problems are you covering the noise cancellation mic on the back of the Titan???

I've got a new SIM card (<1 year old) - so it's not the reason why...

I've also experienced this problem with 2 new unbranded Titans. I hope it will be fixed soon. I think its not a hardware failure.

HTC wrote me i should do a reset.
If this doesn´t help i should send my Titan to HTCs repair center.

Let us know how you get on with that reset. I'm experiencing the same problem, when a call is answered sound emits from the speaker from the caller for a split second, when this usually occurs, the caller is unable to hear me. I hope a radio flash can fix this

That's a typical solve-it-all answer callcenter agents give in order to get rid of the problem quickly. It will most probably not change anything regrading your issue unfortunately.

Sim card disconnects at random

On a daily basis my phone will randomly tell me that there is no Sim card(btw I'm att of that makes any difrence) in the phone. The only way to fix the problem is to reboot the phone. Any ideas what's causing this? I tried flashing a different rom but to no avail. What should I do?

Just to commiserate, this happened to me today too - second time total. Gonna keep digging through the forums...

glad im not the only one.. i posted about this few weeks ago.. i tried going to att store and they wouldnt give me a new phone since it was the 16th day ( 14 day return policy).I thought it was still 30. I went thru warranty and they are sending me a new phone. just waiting for that to arrive.. still happens every once in awhile. annoying.
Happens to me too. Don't have to reboot though. Turning Airplane mode on and off does the trick. Every day or so I take it out and put it back in. Not sure if it helps but it makes me feel like it prolongs the issue.

Here's a summary of what I've learned, y'all correct me if I'm mistaken:
ATT sims only
Airplane mode and back - works as temporary fix
SOME report reseating the sim is a permenant fix
SOME report getting a new sim doesn't fix
Since this is happening to me daily now (maybe more I'm not noticing), I'm going to see what I can come up with. I just opened the tray and slid it back in with two pieces of paper backing the sim card (on the non-contact side of course), to see if by chance there is a problem with the physical connection of the sim, and if this can fix it. I'll keep you updated. I'm also going to see if I can get a new sim card from ATT.
Has anyone come up with any other solutions - or are we all dealing with this intermittently and just tolerating it?
===== UPDATE 12/14/2012 =====
5 Days now with perfect connection. Two sheets of paper thicker sim card works.
There is a few threads all about the same thing. I'm posting in this one because it's the highest on the list. I never had the issue before rooting. So I wonder of anyone can confirm this being an issue pre-root/pre-bootloader unlock? Just a thought

Same issue over here. Daily missing SIM card issue.
I have been having this daily with my AT&T One X+ as well. I'm stock, unrooted. I went back to aT&T today and they told me it was the SIM Card. We replaced that and it seems to be working. Now I know it hasn't been long enough to know if this is the fix or not, so we shall see.
For those who added the paper to the SIM tray, did your SIM card feel at all loose before you added the paper ? Mine doesn't feel loose at all.

This has been happening to me 3/4 times a day, the other day i couldnt even read a full article online before it would pop up with a messege saying 'sim card removed restart phone (only option too)' i know its not the best option but i tapped a bit of wd40 on the sim and it works for days before happening again, not a permenant solution but has definitly kept me from tearing my hair out! Hope it helps

[Q] Has anyone sent in an unlocked One for service?

Hi all, I'm new here, so I apologize for any noob mistakes, but I think this question fits this forum.
Basically, my t-mob One was humming along until a couple days ago the SIM wasn't recognized. I popped it out, put it back, nothing. Tried another SIM, just in case, nothing.
So, I'm guessing this is a hardware issue, but with the phone unlocked, and no RUU available for t-mobile yet, I'm wondering if HTC will deny the service claim?
Anyone have any experience with this type of return?
Thanks in advance!

Could you provide an update?
Sorry, it's been awhile.
So the new sim-card tray didn't fix the issue, and they asked me to send the phone in, but got a call from the escalation department and they asked me to hold off on sending it in. Apparently they might want to have a different department take a look at it.
So far though, nothing about the unlocked status has come up, except that if it is unlocked, it would be returned in a factory restored state.
Doesn't sound like it'll be an issue, but I'll update once everything is resolved.

Sim Card don't work

Hi, i have a new HTC One X + and the simcard doesnt work. Means the Phone dont recognise that i already insert a simcard.
I google this issu and found a lot of people with same problem but i never find the solution for that
any one got a idea?
Ps.: My phone is not rootet and i have the newest software from HTC (original 4.1.1 and sense 4+)

Have you tried popping open the tray and wiggling the card and then simply sliding it back in? Whenever my phone doesn't detect a sim card I just restart it. When it still doesn't work I pop it out and in again. It's annoying, but it doesn't happen often enough to really bother me. If it is of concern, see if your local store can help you out.

But i hope i can use my phone faster than the next htc patch.... anyone got an idea?
I thought I read somewhere that the store you got the phone from might be of some help in this regard if it is an issue with the tray. Of course, if you've been hearing that it is predominantly a software issue, then I have no advice to offer. Sorry.

i already try 3-4 different cards. My card works on other phones so it must be somethign with the phone.
Mine did that a couple months after I bought it ... took it back to the store and they sent it away for some kind of software update. It still did it a few times after that, although it's probably been a couple of months now with no occurrences at all. Some people say to put some tape on the back of the card to make it fit tighter. So I don't know if it's software or hardware. Although when it happened, if I put the phone in airplane mode and back out again, it worked fine, so that leads me to believe it really is software.

Plz Help, Att Htc One "NO SIM ERROR" Tape fix doesnt work!

Hello, im new here but I have seen over the years that this is the place to come to fix cell phone issues and the such. My issue is this, I have just received an ATT HTC ONE, I bought it off Ebay. The phone itself phisically is in mint condition, but the problem is whenever I put a sim card in it, it just wont read it. Im overseas, I have already bought the unlock code for the phone but I get no chance to enter it because the phone wont detect a sim no matter what I do. I have tries puting several different sim cards and no go, I even had a spare ATT sim card and no go. I have just tried the "tape fix" but the phone wont recognize my sim. Is there anything else that I can try or do? I have flashed phone software in the past (droid dna) so if thats what would take to fix this I would do it. Im overseas and returning this to ebay for a refund would not be an option for me. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
I had the same issue and it solved after they replaced the sim tray, but I bought the phone from ATT so I was under warranty.
You might try to get it repaired there, but they might charge you. Or try buying a replacement sim tray off ebay or amazon (I don't know if they sell it or not)

Sim cards can go bad as well. I would go to an AT&T store and they will replace your sim card for free.
Thanks, I did try several sim cards that I had lying around and none of them worked. I have just gotten of the phone with HTC tech support and they are sending me a replacemente sim tray, hope that fixes the problem. Will have to wait 4 looooong weeks without a phone tough...

Oh..ok.. well I dont think new sim tray would be the solution.
I have two HTC One. And I tried putting the sim tray of working HTC ONE into this one and nothing happened.. same issue.
I have couple queries though : Was ur phone's software modified in any way when u recieved it ? I mean was the phone unlocked, rooted etc ?
If yes, did u tried flashing a RUU on it and see if it solves the issue
So I finally found the solution to my problem.. apparently its something related to sim not aligning properly in the socket.
Tape-fix didnt worked for me too and nor did the RUU. Then I tried something different.. I had my iphone 5's nano sim and put it in a plastic nano-to-micro sim adapter and put that in.. it snug in very tight and hurray, the sim got detected. Got the unlock code and its working now !!!!
With this experiment I think I also found out whats ur issue might be too. We often cut the sim using the sim-cutters which are often not perfectly sized but works with most phones. I suggest either try using my method if u can or get a retail micro-sim from a service provider and try that.. it should work.

Doogee Pixels DG350 [MTK6582] - Network signal loss

Hi all,
This is my first post here on xda, so spare on me.. plz not really sure if this is the correct place to post this but i've searched this forums and i haven't found the help i need.
So, straight to point. i bought this phone and in the first two weeks all seemed to work fine.
Lately i've experienced lots of network signal loss. I've rooted the phone and used "Mobileuncle MTK Tools" to change the preferred network bands as according to this youtube video v=aQY7SdNrbmA (sorry, can't post direct links).
Well, after that nothing happened so i'm really upset with this china made smartphone.
Has anyone experienced this kind of problems using this phone/chip ?
Any advices before sending this to repair (other country) would be very appreciated..
Thanks in advance,
Hugo Pataco

iCrap Samsung HTC and other brand phones are mostly produced in China. If you have 300-400-500 $ to spare to pay the bill for the advertisement go on no one will stop you. And the fact that the phone is expensive doesn't mean that you wont find issues.
hugopataco man it is just that you have pulled the short straw.

Define service if you please. If you refer to she software updates i woud like to say that DOOGEE (as a brand i am using) have posted and released their certificates and firmware ( http://www.doogee.cc/en/gb/xiazai.asp ). Also the company has released into that new update fixing major problems like slow camera button and slightly unresponsive touch screen (i actualy have no problems with these). Ou and of course they have managed to establish connection with the buyer which is great because their next products will be what the users want.
