2750 ext battery - HTC Rezound

Just picked up a 2750 oem extended battery. Doesnt add much thickness to phone really. It is noticable, but i think it gives it a better feel. I will post back tomorrow with battery life results.

I was thinking of getting the extended battery also but held off on it because I was unsure of the thickness that it adds. You think you can post up any pictures?

I left mine at work. I will post some pics when I get there in a bit. It makes it alot thicker I think. I won't be using it unless I know I will be away from a charge for awhile.

I cant believe the extended is only 2750 just like the Thunderbolt. I hope Mugen or Seidio release something more powerful.
hell, the Incredible 2 has a 3700mAh & the Thunderbolt has a 4500mAh.

Here is a picture of the 2 back covers side by side.

It is a different color also. The extended cover is alot darker color.

Pretty thick. Maybe it's just the pics over seeing/feeling it in person.
How is the battery life improvement?
I have the 3500 extended on my Incredible and it does not bother me at all btw.

It is too big and heavy with the extended battery. I will do everything I can to not use it.

just picked mine up for my Rezound today. 29 bux at verizon! i prefer the thicker back, as i did with my incredible. i could never use a phone like the RAZR....WAY too thin and light. i like to have a good grip on the phone so it doesnt slide out of my hand... im not a fan of paper thin phones at ALL.
---------- Post added at 04:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:01 AM ----------
question..i noticed on the stock cover, in the lower left of the back cover, theres 2 tiny holes. what are those for? becuase they aren't on the extended cover.

I would assume either mic holes or speaker holes in the original cover..

Only thing I'm not happy with is.. it seems its not flat on the bottom, so it wobbles when sitting on my desk trying to type.

$29! Is that for just the extended battery or the back as well?
The two holes are mic holes. I assume for video recording.

I'm not positive that those are mic-holes. The stock back for this phone has all the stuff that people originally thought was for inductive charging, but it looks to me like they are just contact points that extend the antennas all the way to the back of the phone to avoid death-grip type outages and help with signal reception...
If I take my stock back off I can clearly see that there is some pseudo-metal material that makes contacts with two springy metal pieces on the back of the phone. Similar contacts are in five different places on the top, bottom, and sides of the back of the phone that correspond with metal on the inside of the cover.
That is my uneducated guess, of course, but I don't see ANY microphone-like items in that location. There is one mic-hole on the very bottom of the back cover, just below the "Back" softkey.

agree 100%. I'm also not a fan of the added weight. It isn't super noticeable, but it is for sure something that is off putting.

Quality Case for Extended Battery?

I am in the same boat and was digging around for days for a case that fit with extended battery. I finally came across these and ordered one last night. Then I remembered your post here so I wanted to pass this on.
http://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-rezound-extended-battery-tpu-case-hard-rubber.html
Now I realize they want ALL the money for these cases but they look nice and we don't have many alternatives. Cool thing about these is that they don't add any thickness. I was going to just buy a regular size case and cut it until I found these. I will report back after mine comes in. Let me know what you think.
I just ordered this one from Amazon. I will give my feedback when it arrives.

I was in the Verizon store and picked up one of the Verizon silicon cases for the extended battery. They didn't have it on display and it took a while for them to find it out back. It is a cheap way to keep your phone safe until some better cases hit the market. It also doesn't add too much thickness.

I have one of these. It literally is just the regular tpu case with the back cut out to accommodate the extended battery. Works alright for what it is, but can't believe they sell it for more than the normal case. I bought it when it was on sale for almost half off, so was alright.

Bought this one too... It's a decent case. The texture/design is different from most other cases (see pics on the website), so that's probably why the OP doesn't like it.
Me, I don't like it as much because of the color, adds even more thickness to the phone with an extended battery, and leaves the top and bottom exposed.
Use it mainly when it go somewhere that I know I will be using my phone to watch videos.

I just wanted to check back on this and review this case a bit so yes I quoted myself. The case if you look at the pictures on the HTCPedia site is basically a TPU case with a cutout that goes around the extended battery. The case fits tightly, looks cool, and provides exactly the protection I was looking for. Has cutouts for all the buttons and plugs. It is very light and seems well built. I recommend this case and would buy again.
I own both of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Tra...=UTF8&qid=1326919397&sr=1-2&tag=5336653508-20
I prefer the one with the cutout back. It is a little thinner overall(since no back) and the space around the buttons is a little bigger.
I had trouble pressing the power button on the diztronics.
Both good cases.

Yes, you can install a maxx battery in your Razr!

For everyone wondering if the original razr can accept the razr maxx battery, the answer is YES! Ive taken both of mine apart, and it would appear that the battery compartments are identical, but the one on the maxx is deeper ofcourse. So then I took the rear cover from the max and put it on the razr, it fit perfectly but there was a gap between the sim card door and cover, the gap isn’t that bad as you can see in the pictures. So, if you can find a maxx battery and rear cover, do the mod! And for all asking if it would be worth it. The answer is hell yes!!!!

i would assume so, howerver i dont know how to pull the door off...all moto did was add more plastic to surround the bigger battery on the maxx. everything else is identical. i took the cover from razr maxx and put it on the razr, it fit perfectly butit would push in to the battery. i think if you had the bigger battery the rear cover would be solid as on the razr as it is on the razr maxx.
if i can find the battery, or if anyone has a link, i will buy the maxx battery, cover and door. i want to try this out also...
Also to add, as I've mentioned here on the support forums:
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/4c3288997e?post=4c3288997e&start=31
That Motorola should provide a send in service to upgrade your phone's battery - keeping your warranty - for a small fee (cost for parts, labor, and shipping; i.e. ~ $100?)
If I was in that scenario, I would certainly pay for that - beats shelling out for a new phone.

while i dont agree with your reason for motorola offering a battery upgrade on the droid razr. I DO agree that they should, they should do it for parts and labor, it would go a LONG way in customer relations.

I too am interested in how the reassembly went. Did you use a tool like in the video? Did you feel any looseness in the covers after they were put back on?
I've heard of some people using just their fingernails to pry it open, and some guys who have had the covers not go on very tightly or fully clip in after they reassemble. It'd be nice to know the safest/least damaging method.

Damn that looks easier than half the xbox repairs ive done
I just ran my fingernail along the crack starting from the bottom right near the search button all the way to the top and the cover shaped up very easily. I didn't pull the tape off though. It snapped right back into place very easily and doesn't seem loose or anything. The razr isn't really waterproof it is water resistant. So opening the cover shouldn't really have any affect on that.
assembly is very easy too... the battery is covered in some real sticky stuff so it would be impossible to have a lose cover, and the edges snap back into place. it looks just like it did before i took it apart. on the razr i used the same tool that you see in the video, but for some reason i couldnt get it going on the maxx. so i got one of my daughter thin flat hair clips to start the unclipping and it was fine from there.

"This product is suitable for Samsung Galaxy Note. In addition to being a super battery life of portable back-up battery pack, you can also be used as the Samsung Galaxy Note protective cover, bring to your iPad strong momentum and excellent console protection."
Looks good if you buy it post a review I'm curious to know if its good or not.

Im confused. Do you have to already own the ipad or does it come with one? If it doesn't come with one can I use the "strong momentum and excellent console protection" on a different device, or perhaps other non-related items such as my cat?
I think I might buy that. Slimmer than the mugen, and it doubles as a portable charger or extender for 35 bucks.
I see one problem with it though, can't take the stylus out with the phone in it.

Actuall i think you can. If you look at the corner there appears to be a gap there. I bet thats an opening to access the s-pen. I went with the super thick super cheap extended battery. $8 for a batter that lasts me a couple days is nice. If you, or anyone else for that matter, gets this please take some pictures for us so we know what we're dealing with in thickness and effectivness. And and let me know if it helps you ipad out any.

I dunno, if you look at picture 4 and 7, it shows the word "IN". 4 looks like where the stylus would be, but on picture 7 its the same spot on the phone just flipped and it shows the USB port for charging it.
Looks like a good alternative for $35. Total charge capacity would be 5500 mAh, assuming all 3000 mAh of the Brando battery can be transferred to the phone. That would be about the same as the Mugen 5400 mAh extended battery.

It's not a passthrough, so the placement doesnt matter much. The thickness will prevent it from being used it most/all docks. According to the site you must take this off the phone in order to charge it or the phone. I do tons of supplemental charging on and off through the day that this is absurd and out of the question for me. But if you find yourself only charging at night only then this is not likely to be a big issue for you, only you will need to have a second charger at your night stand to charge them both.
see i plug mine in a lot through the day as well... would be nice to see one with pass though charging as well.
Looks cool but I think it would add to much weight and bulk.
not for At&t i717 note?!?
I think the pic is of the unbranded note and it is different enough to not fit at&t model.
I purchased a miikey external 5200 mah(? Not sure of #, but close) and it is like having 3 extra batteries without turning off phone to change out.
cost was: orig. $89.95, i hit a nice sale and got it for $50.oo purchased at at&t store in central nj!
the only thing it is not good for is if you need power when connected to a pc.
my original battery either needs calibration after rooting or i have a defective battery. so, i use this till i can figure out what is going on. prolly needs calibration.

HTC Rezound Otterbox Defender Series

I'm new to this forum, but experienced on others. So, here I go.
I bought the Otterbox Defender Series case for my HTC Rezound not too long ago, off of htcpedia.com for a somewhat discounted price. At the time I bought my phone I bought the Verizon 2750mAh extended battery as well, and the Defender seemed to be the only case I was really interested in getting that covered the bigger battery. So far, I've loved the protection, the durability, and the ease of changing between the regular battery and extended battery, as well as getting it on and off quickly.
My question in starting this post is, do you like it?
I find it quite bulky when inside pockets, and it's hard to get out once it's buried in there. It's huge, and God-awful looking some days in my opinion. But for the protection, I think it is definitely worth the money.

i absolutely love my defender case...i just love the feel of the phone bare more especially since i hate the plastic screen protector (i popped it off the defender case)...i ordered an ext. battery so imma have to debate if im gonna butcher the back of the battery cover and otterbox
I'm still considering getting one. Using Verizon extended battery and case atm.

If your gonna pop off the hard plastic screen protector just but the commuter edition I have it and it's very durable it goes through a lot of abuse and no damage whatsoever

How'd you fit the extended battery? By just leaving the back off or cutting? I've seen where others have done that but I wanted to get your opinion. Got my extended battery on the way, already have the defender and love it.

I had the case for a weekend and ended up selling it here because I did not like the bulk it added to the phone. I would like to add that it does protect better than any other case I have seen. I ended up going with a body glove case as I like how it goes together and slim profile. Just my 2 cents.
I've actually got this case on my Rezound, but with the mugen 4000 battery. What I did was cut down the standard cover and the otterbox cover so that I have a case that fits quite well with no detectable deformities (like you can do if you use the extended back without the otterbox back). My signal strength is also unchanged in this configuration.

Could you show the inside. I'd like to get a better idea on how you got it to work. That's awesome.

How do you keep that from falling out?
I just got this case a weak ago. I'm currently using the extended OEM battery with it to do this i haven't cut (yet) but instead am just not using the backing it came with. Personally I like it better without the plastic back because it makes noises for some reason. The phone fits fine in the holster except if you want to put the screen on the outside because that side doesn't fit. The holster is pretty amazing, made out of strong stuff and the has good features. Will definitely being using Otterbox for awhile.

I had one and my gf had one. I put them both in each front pocket. It made me look like I had thigh pads on just like those football players.
Tabbedout, I actually did the same thing minus the mugen batt and defender case. I used the reg extended and have yet to find a case this trick would work with. I guess I have my answer now. I wonder if this would work with the commuter case as well or if there isn't enough meat in the rubber part to make up the difference in the battery. To answer the other question my battery doesn't fall out because the back plate was cut to barely fit the battery. It actually overlaps a tiny bit on the top and bottom making it so ridiculously snug it would never pop out.

Exactly... My backing is cut so tight that it is actually more difficult to remove with the battery in place. It holds the battery VERY snugly
Edit:
The reason for the tight fit was, for me at least, not intentional. If you look at the inside of the rear cover you should be able to see the antenna arrays. It was in an attempt to prevent severing these that caused me to make such a tight fit, but it worked out.

Anyone have an extended battery version that they want to sell.

Clear case?

Has anyone come across a clear case similar to a Spigen Ultra Hybrid, or a Ringke Fusion, I have searched every site imaginable and cant find one. Its weird that Spigen would make one for the Nexus 5 which is basically a non textured rubberized back but not one for the Note 3 which has that pleather back to it.

I already checked that one out, is it durable ?
Well I dropped my phone from counter height and it landed flat and face down with no damage or screen cracks so it's durable in my opinion.

Time to get a white permanent marker :highfive:
BTW if you buy a replacement cover from eBay (i got mine because I wanted to shave it down a little so the QI pad wouldn't buldge.. for about 11 bucks?)
it's slightly thinner than the OEM one. Feels & looks exactly the same though. I bought it from a seller named "playebuy8". I can't vouch for any other seller but i'm quite happy w/ mine

Thinner would be better since I have to apply a coating over it to keep the sharpie from rubbing off. Im going to try and find that buyer you suggested, thanks.
Never would have thought of taking the battery cover off.

That looks pretty cool, does it still fit well?
With the back on it fits snug. With it off you can tell the difference but it doesn't feel like it moves. I shook it to see if the battery would come loose but it didn't. The camera sticks out a little further than the case.

I kinda wish they had a transparent housing now, so you can see all the internals and not just the battery/microSD
that back panel IS just plastic. it should not be too hard to "hack it up" with a dremel leaving all the important bits in place.
are there replacement back panels available yet ? I won't do it to mine but I would do it to a replacement I do NOT like how the camera sticks out.
I wish UAG would make a clear version of their case for the Note III (they do for icrap) they we could use the nice replacement battery covers you can get on ebay.
