[APP] Battery Left Widget - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

It's not my app, but I love it.
It's a nice and easy way to read how long it will take till your battery is empty, and - when charging - how long it will take till it's full.

Personally I just prefer the regular battery percentage. After a few days of phone use you get a feel how much each 10% lasts you depending on what you're doing.

Badass battery is not a widget, but like the system battery menu more advanced. You can view per app detailed stats and also for kernel etc.

Here another battery info app I use, kinda useful

No, just download. If Dropbox cuts the .apk you`ll have to add it manually.
Happened to some people on german forum. Install it like every other app.
Add as widget to homescreen.
Can you post a screenshot?
Thanks you.
It did drop the .apk extension. What a great widget. Thanks for making it small and unobtrusive!

It's just a tiny number with a % symbol. You can choose black or white text. It's smaller than the numbers in the status bar but not by much.
I did something similar, but as a notification instead of a widget. If anyone is interested: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1464041/MotoCharge.apk

How does it work? I mean, is the % real? Or does it estimate it, like Battery Left?
Edit: okay, I'll answer myself, you're using /sys/class/power_supply/battery/charge_counter. I didn't know about its existence! Great work! I wonder if we could modify the original Motorola APK to read that instead of /sys/class/power_supply/battery/capacity, so we don't need any extra software, hmm...
Edit 2: I was curious and searched. There seem to be two places where "capacity" is used. They are in /xbin/ssmgrd and /bin/charge_only_mode, both binaries. Would it be possible to hex-edit the "capacity" string to "charge_counter"?
Edit 3: whoops, somebody already thought of this. I'll take the discussion there so I don't hijack your thread

Don't autoupdate, right? I loaded at 24%, looked the file and was 24. Some tests later, I looked the file again and was 22. It still at 24.

This is nice. This is a bit small for me though. I'd love it if you could make text color, opacity and size configurable as well as provide an option to not show the % sign. Thanks.

Great work as I said before. But here is some feedback to keep you chewing
I have no complaints regarding the widget that shows the percentage on home screen, but the other widget in the notification bar looks really good but works less. It gets stuck at times and we have to launch it again to check if its doing fine. After a long standby, it shows "FULL" even though the battery is in very low state. We need to launch the app from notification bar to get it showing the real % again.
Thats it for now.

Actually i experiment the same issue with Circle Battery widget. However i just realized i hadn't excluded it from the task killer (didn't use any with froyo on desire but seems like i need one with 2.1). If you're using a task killer, maybe this is worth checking.
Great wgt, thanks.

Thank you for this nice widget.
Although my phone says it's fully charged, the widget says it's only 94%. I wonder what motorola is doing???
Also, your widget goes to 101% when fully charged. I don't know if it's a phone's bug or just your wigdet.
Could you also add some features when press the widget? Like show the battery use?
Can you add some kind of battery charging monitor? I mean, when the phone is docked and charging you can't see the battery level unless you reach the phone and turn the screen on. Can you use the notification led such as when charging it blinks red and then steady green once fully charged?

1. I know, thats motorola related. The moto batterydisplay shows full when you reach 95% and switchs to full. My widget shows all the time the real value.
So it`s no bug in my widget, it`s motorola. Perhaps it`s to protect the battery in case of overcharge ?!
2. It`s planned to add this feature, but at the moment i`m ill. So you have to wait.

seem to help mine....
Its been discussed a number of times in various battery related threads. The issue is that you end up killing a lot of tasks the phone needs, so it has to restart them all the time, which is less efficient than leaving them running. If you have a rogue app draining your battery becuase it isn't shutting down there are better ways to deal with it.
Is this 1% an hour drain with the radio on or off? Ill have to check what mine gets with it on, but when i turn my radio off i get 1% drain every 4 or 5 hours

Same boat, however the temp workaround comes from the notification panel showing the battery percentage. Takes an extra swipe but does the job

There is not any option to display battery percentage in status bar in UI settings. I am waiting for unlocked bootloader, then will go with aosp custom roms as miui is still buggy even its having most powerful hardware, performing like redmi note 4x.

There is no option to do that in settings however there are a few themes which display battery percentage in the status bar. I tried quite a few themes and found two themes which display battery percentage in the status bar -

2. Sand

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

Hey this is cool, I was considering making a similar app around the camera cutout... might be something you consider adding to this project! "Energy ring"..
Doesn't really translate onto the screenshot well tho:
Looks good. I did notice that the charging animation restarts when opening/closing the Energy Bar app. Did not appear to restart animations in other apps though.
It adds a corner to the top left of the screen that is visible in screenshots but doesn't appear anywhere else.
Screenshot attached for others to see.

Is this normal standby drain for my S10 lite?

Spoiler
https://imgur.com/a/ZfRFLar
It's around 1.7%/h for my Snapdragon S10 lite. Is this normal?
It's normal if some media is running in background, for example. My phone has an average of 0,8%/hour according to AccuBattery.
turn off Bixby and google
turn off adaptive brightness
Seems a little high but I'm on a 10+ with 4300ma battery. Adjust accordingly to your battery capacity.
Nominal AOD battery usage should be about 1% an hour. You can enable tap on for AOD to help determine the source of the drain; usage should be very low like that.
Goggle Backup Transport and Backup Transport Framework were causing excessive battery drain for me both with SOT and off.
Update: left my phone at 99% and woke up to 80%
Here is the usage: GSAM
Look at the 5h of Significant Motion Detector usage of Google Play Services and how the Netflix app is using so much battery (I never opened that app since buying the phone...)
I then proceeded to install Better battery stats and found after some hours of usage a huge Spotify battery drain related to the Linear acceleration sensor.
I am getting kind of tired. Since I started using android (Nokia X2, Lenovo K6 power, Redmi note 7 then S10 lite), I have had some kind of a battery drain on all of those devices. Getting tired of troubleshooting problems rather than use the damn phone.
Ditch spotify or lock it down.
You probably have more crapware...
You need to learn how to optimize these phones.
Play with it.
