There is NO solution to unlock marketplace! Because WE DON'T NEED IT. Just ask for activation code and thats all, I got mine in 5 minutes from USA MS Support Chat.
Somebody could confirm that installs apps hangs? For me it works, but installs so long.

just flashed this rom thats 3 roms today ive flashed and they just get better and better and with signal fix working on each rom keep it up you are the best
Can just anyone confirm that ther is no signal lost? I mean that the fix is not just for streinght nor for quality too?
i have had this fix on from when it came out so yesterday and up until now so signal dropping or anything it works !!!!!
The signal fix may depend on your service provider.

EDIT: strange phone booted to wm normaly :S hmmm the acer drivers in folder by jool i have didnt instaled right. I am using xp/32-bit And what is that bin? what to do with that?

noting need to check/uncheck on tg downloader. just put to dl mode= power off or battery pull out. press and hold cam then press and hold power button= white led
then select the wp7boot.bin and press start download .........
WHY you not use the method from QUIN ........ its safe, you have nothing to ersae and blabla .......

first flash a 0321 Radio rom, standard with ssdl method.
then cam + power to dl mode. then over tg downloader flash the wp7bootloader.
now you have the wp7bootloader. press cam + power= blue led. Install common downloader, install acer driver. select multi download, with browse select
the three files ifrom same folder : flash.bin (wp7 rom), NPRG8650.hex and partition.mbn. check it with advanced .... go to refresh and select start all wait 25 min= wp7

i have a problem. i have installed RUU....024721_NVID to install one of the roms with WM6.
the problem is, the pda install the RUU....024721_NVID but when i try to install the WM6 rom the upgrade..bat says: could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is in use?
What can i do??

try to copy the folder for upgrating to wm6 to c:/
because if you have it on desktop or in documents it will be a to long path
also try to restart both your PC and your PDA..

2 - Left the PDA to the welcome screen "Tap to begin"
3 - Run the dos batch and everything works
4 - Hard reset....
S...t!!!! The OS remain the same!!!!!
I try with mysterious, with crystal, now i'm downloading ProphetVIII
What i'm doing wrong!?!?!?!?!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you have to sync in order to upgrade, not just stay on welcome screen. Configure the pda on the NIV ROM, sync and then run the DOS batch

my qtek died. during the update, active sync shutsdown ainda now the qtek stuks in splashcreen.

Restart in bootlader mode, press and hold camera button and reset
after you can flash a WM5 ROM

yes and don't touch anything till it says congratulation on you have finished on pc
there will come a popup on your phone almost right after you started the upgrade rom but ignor it "It says something about suceeded"

After using Rom WM6.1 of Cloudyfa for 2 or 3 days I found a problem with the switch off function. Everytime I switch the phone on, it switches off again automatically. Then i must press the power button one more time and it's ok for the 2nd time.
Thought it was somes error during the uprom process, I tried to uprom one more time and hard reset many times but still failed.
Just tried the Rom of varanusvincent (Vista is beatiful and the speed is good, but the battery lost so fast) , and also get the same problem. Anyone can help?

U're right. Abt 80% of all times this happens, but I don't think it was an incompatibility with one of the programs we installed cause' after making the hard reset I didn't install anything and the problem still occurs.
I'm now using Rom of Korand for more stable though i still love Rom of cloudyfa. :
I think, this problem because of animated screen..
Even me too facing the same problem with Clean Edition, the problem is it doesn't gets switch off in first attempt, instead the device gets restart and the next time when I hold the power key it switches off properly.
I don't think it is because of Animated Startup, because I already disabled it. May be a compatibility issue.

It works straight out of the box! If you are sure your settings are right, Hard Reset or reflash.

I did that too.. and problem gonel.. But for some people, said that problem is still exist..
BUt I dont have that Problem anymore after disabling animated function.
perhaps i've got another solution here: as i wrote a time ago on another thread, i have NOW none of the known issues on my wm 6.1 prophet. but i had realized each single one of them for about half an hour directly after flashing
so what's happend? : first i flashed rom. then i do (like strictly advised ) a hard reset manually (after the one the device makes automatically after flashing).
so far so good... then i started in makeing my settings, installing apps, trying around and so on. and in this time, i had flashing today screen on power on, sms cannot be sent message after three or four sms until soft reset, much battery drain and so on.
well, then i made a big mistake, set my favorite sip as default in sip-hide tool (it should be set not there but with another tool i forgot to install...) , and after a soft-reset the device stuck at the htc-splashscreen
so i had to do a second hard reset and since i did it all works properly like it should!
maybe this could be a solution for all of you, too.. try it out (a second hard reset!), what do you have to loose now..
~~ ATTENTION !!! YOU NEED TO FLASH NVID IF YOU WANT TO SWITCH TO OTHER ROM AFTER INSTALL THIS ROM~~~ ( i DON'T LIKE IT )

Here is Kubuntu Mobile for the Gen 8 tablets. I decided to try to get it working because I really want a linux distro up and running on my tablet but gnome 2.0 just doesn't cut it on a touchscreen device. Well, I've been working at this for a while now ad what do I have to show for it? Almost nothing I have gotten some stuff working though so I thought I would share.
Before you even think about trying this out there are a few things you should keep in mind:
-It is in a very early stage of testing and will probably not really work at all
-I am not a developer (I'm a 15 year old kid from Canada, eh) so unless I receive some help, this project probably won't be able to go anywhere
-YOU MUST HAVE SDE INSTALLED!

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Before you even attmpt to install this realize that at teh moment you can't really use it at all seeing can't click anything

okay, now that you know that, here we go.
(1) Install the SDE (its easy to do, you can find guides elsewhere)
(2) Download my edited .img file from the download section below
(3) Press power button ad then quickly hold down the volume - button until you get the boot menu. Use the volume + and - to navigate the menu and select the recovery system menu (press the power button to select it) Then navigate to "update firmware" option and press the power button again, plug in your archos device into your computer and drag my rootfs.img file onto the root of your Archos device, replacing the one that is already there.
(4) Once the transfer completes, press the power button again. It will say update failed, ignore that.
(5) Reboot your device and hold down the volume - button again. This time select the developer edition entry and Kubuntu will boot!
(6) tap the screen in frustration because nothing will happen when you try to click.

No, thats whats so frustrating. Maybe there's a config file I could edit to make it appear?
Or maybe use another login screen (if it's possible ^^)
Hey I am 15 years old too!
I am a KDE lover, so I'll try it. I think we can install a virtual keyboard or edit the KDM (login manager) config so it autostart a virtual keyboard (the Matchbox keyboard is a good one)
If we get working something useful writing it to https://wiki.kubuntu.org/ARM/Archos101it will be good

Okay, so I did what luisivan said and it worked! WHen you boot up the archos it now auto-logsin to a user called "user" and the password is "pass". But it seams with every succes there is are ten more prblems that have to be solved becasue no matter what you do you just can't click the ouse! The thouchscreen works but when you tap on something the mouse doesn't click. It gets stranger, if you wait a while the mouse does click, and then STAYS clicked forever! BWAAAAA.
OH well.
btw, I'm uploading the new rootfs.img file now so it will be up in a few hours (the upload speeds on my ISP sucks)

Graphics acceleration is not possible atm because no one has compiled the driver to work under linux and thats a bit pot of my league. The guy who is trying to get ubutnu working on gen 8 tablets is having the same touchscreen problem and I still have't figured out what is causing it. Anyone got any tips?

Our Gen8 Devices's Touchscreens are connected over a kind of "usb-host" i think
Maybe you should look in the Archos (free) Kernel Source how the Touchscreen is connected (in Software section)

I bought one smartphone Star X15i made in china with MTK6573 CPU.
Why ? Because I'm french and I have now I have two Sim Cards and I want one phone under Android with Dual Sim capabilities. ( Can't find it in France :-( )
Is not the best phone in the world, but it's enough for me for every basics days
So, After install all my applications, and working well... I want make the device better ;-)
I add one file in /system/etc to make better the capture media ( media_profiles.xml ) but after the first reboot my X15i stay with bootanime on the screen
I tried to clear the flash by starting the X15i by this:
- Remove batterie
- Push Power button and Down Volume
- release the Power button when sceen show me, the first screen
- Stay on Down button until menu come.
After I have one menu with:
- Full Test
- Item Test
- Test Report
- Clear Flash
- Version
- Reboot
I performed one "Clear Flash" with hope the memory will be realy clean but nothing... After that the boot stay on first screen :-(
So my question is: how make one hard reset with reset factory ?
Somebody know where I can find the Rom for the Star X15i ?

My computer (try with 2 computer ) see the X15i only one second and after the X15i goto in charge, so the Flash Tool have not enough time to see the device :-(

First step unbrick your X15i

I did all according to the instructions, other than that I only installs first driver , second, third and fourth I do not know how (Windovs 7 32bit). For the first time I did not make because I forgot to turn on USB mode, the other is all well done, but phone does not turns on. Maybe it's because I not proper installed drivers? Or becoue I mut have RTP file for 2.3.6. android? I dont know what i doing wrong!

In order (very important):
1) remove battery and unplug usb
2) clic Download on Flash Tool
3) plug USB and just after put battery
4) Normaly Flash Tools will start to download the rom.
If Flash tools don't start after 20 seconds, Clic on Stop button and restart at step 1)
Courage, sometime this procedure don't run at the first time
I do it all, and download is success, but phone still not turn on. Did I need another Rom?
