[TUT]SPL Downgrade from 5.x - RSPL and HSPL - Flash Custom ROM - Trick Marketplce - 7 Mozart General

INTRODUCTION
I bought my phone a month ago but I do not have any plans to do any flashing thing about it except from having a developer-unlock WP7.5 OS. Yes, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango installed in my newly bought HTC 7 Mozart. Unfortunately, I was 3 days late when CheveronWP7 closed. 4 days of frustration and researching ways to have a developer-unlock phone and I finally decided have my SPL downgraded to 1.x from having an SPL 5.11 so I could just have a developer-unlock OS.
Some video was a little bit shaky because I was currently in a vacation and I don't have all my stuff for making a nice video plus I was just squatting around so it's really shaky (sometimes). Sorry.
A LITTLE PREPARATION THOUGH
You need to know your device's region. I am 707 so what's yours?
Quoting this information from this thread will let you know
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.16101.707
Your phone ROM version will be: 1.61.707.01

You Operator name and CID i.e.: hTC_Asia with CID HTC_044. HTC_622 can be found with this CV from following classification:

Total: Php 420 - $9.5 (USD)
DFT RSPL-HSPL
And of course, you have to HSPL your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647 AS ALWAYS. I saw some guys asking if this is necessary .. well of course it is!
AND THE 28minutes 59seconds VIDEO
The number 28:59 means I done everything for less than 30minutes+ or so from downgrading my SPL to executing RSPL and HSPL.
You might hear some weird Beavis sound, sorry, that was me.. I'm just diverting because I was bit scared something bad might happen to my Mozart .. but it turns out that everything went well.

FLASHING CUSTOM ROM ON MY MOZART

SO TO SUMMARIZE EVERYTHING, HERE ARE THE STEPS TO UNLOCKING YOUR MOZART SO YOU CAN FLASH ANY CUSTOM ROM!
Step 1 - Know your region!
You can check check your region by going to:
Settings > about > click More Info button > Firmware revision number
e.g. Firmware revision number: 2250.09.16101.707
Your region is: 707
and your phone ROM version is: 1.61.707.01
So you belong in HTC_ASIA
refer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915827
Step 2 - Download your official ROM
So after confirming you're that for example you have HTC_ASIA, you can download your ROM here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...401.03_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U_by_ansar
2.1 - Extract the compressed file
2.2 - Make a copy of RUU_Signed.nbh and rename it to MOZAIMG.nbh
Step 3 - Make your own Y-CABLE
It's extremely easy to make one. If you have already created or bought one then
Step 4 - Get a 1GB MicroSD Card
Guys, don't be hard headed, just get a 1GB MicroSD card if you want to have a flawless unlocking your phone.
4.1 - Reformat it with FAT32 File System and use "Default Allocation Table"
4.1 - Copy the MOZAIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card.
Step 5 - Patch it with GoldCard tool
Make sure that you copied MOZAIMG.nbh
5.1 - Run GoldCardTool.exe
5.2 - Make sure the select HTC MMC is your newly reformatted MicroSD Card.
5.2 - Load GoldCard.img (the file is included in GoldCardTool_0.0.5.7z)
5.3 - If the patching was a success, then you're now safe for Step 6
Step 6 - Get everything setup and prepare your:
PC - Reboot! So to make sure everything is refreshed.
Phone - Take off the battery, put it back, turn in on while pressing VOL_DOWN_KEY + CAMERA_BUTTON until the screen said "USB HOST MODE"
Card Reader and MicroSD Card - Am pretty sure you know what to do
Y-CABLE - Connect your Phone and Card Reader and connect the male usb to one of the USB ports at the back of your PC (laptop? then just connect it)
Step 7 - Kiss your phone because the downgrading process will begin
Don't worry if after connecting, and still said "USB HOST MODE" because it will take about 3 - 5 minutes before the flashing begins. If it didn't start after like, give it a 7minutes grace period, then remove the Card Reader and put it back again. Still didn't work? Go get a new card reader
The downgrading process will reboot your phone once after it said
RADIO: OK then after it reboots, it will go back to "USB HOST MODE" and will say "Loading ..." immediately, if you didn't saw that, remove the Card Reader and insert again .. but again, the flashing will restart so it will go back to flashing the Radio again.
If everything went well, and you saw the "SUCCESS" message, you can reboot your phone and go to bootloader to check the SPL version. If the SPL version was successfully downgraded to 1.## then it's you lucky day! You can now move on to Step 8
Step 8 - DFT's RSPL and HSPL
Download those and refer to their manual http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647 . If those didn't go well, then make sure you read everything it saids on their manual.
If that goes well, confirm it by rebooting and going to the bootloader, and you'll see the "HSPL" instead of "SPL" then the version.
If you saw the "HSPL" then you're safe to flashing your first
CUSTOM MOZART ROM!
If everything went well, you can have your Mozart unlocked with less than 30minutes
Disclaimer:
All of those steps were tested and proven. If something went wrong and your phone was bricked, then I don't take any responsibility of your actions. so make sure to read, read, read, and read!

hey,
just one question.
does it have to be a micro sdcard reader ?
because when i'm trying it via usb stick, i become..
1. only "Enter USB Host Mode.."
2. when I try to stick it in it checks but then become it "Not Allow".
Is it because I use a usb stick instead of micro sdcard?

yeah probably.
Because it said "Not Allow" am not sure if that means if what you used was Not Allowed.. Most of the threads I checked before performing an SPL downgrade, was they're really specific to using "MicroSD" so I just followed it and use Micro SD instead of using 1 gb usb drive which I wanted to do the same before but I do not want to cause any problem with my Mozart .. so .. I used Micro SD.

okay, then I will try the microSD card today in the evening, just bought a logilink microSD usb reader.
maybe the reason why its not allowed is that a usb stick does need more usb power and the phone then didn't recognize the stick anymore? don't know..
i have tried the RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE.exe version to downgrade.. but i will try a version under the 1.30 also.
anyway, thank you for your tutorial! really helpful!
greetings

hi,
one question.
I have a problem, I do every step you write above and when I start the phone I got
1. Enter USB Host Mode..
2. Then "Loading.."
3. And then my phone restarts over and over again
Have any idea where I made a mistake
My firmware revision number is 2250.21.51101.11
so my CV is 111.
I try all 3 roms

It just said "Loading..." ? Did you ever wait until it flashes th Radio?

It never start to flash the Radio, it restart immediately after "Loading..", then again come
to "Loading.." and restarts. I wait about 10 restarts and still nothing happened, just restarting.

I find a solution,
it was my memory card. I try two 1gb cards and both do the same,
then I try one from 2GB and it works.
Thanks for tutorial!!!

[Q] Help with ROM

Hi all,
I've browsed through all topics I've found on ROMs for Mozart and I'm confused with mine. I've bought mine unlocked from Hong Kong. Here's what I get from device:
firmware revision number: 2250.09.12803.707
radio software version: 5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
Bootloader version: 1.28.2250.3(113810)
It looks like I have quite fresh version (1.28) though it has awful gradient rendering and I'm stuck with only English (US) keyboard...
Is there ROM I can flash (or safely try flashing) on my phone to get European set of keyboards and better gradients?
Thanks in advance!
uprom = goldcard
Interestingly enough while using PSAS I've got CID that started with 01 and the rest was just zeros. That was WinMo 6.1 Samsung that I used to get the CID. And in fact it reported CIDs for what I believe are internal partitions while flash card and its own internal storage showed this 01000... thing. So I went with what I had and passed it to PSAS goldcard generator and it gave no errors. Now I wonder if I should try to flash with this card. Will it just give an error in the beginning before flashing anything if it's unacceptable or will I potentially get in trouble?
ok, so I'm impatient guy and I just tried - when started, it showed update screen for some time. then it rebooted and showed the update screen again. then after a while it has written OK against everything (MOZAIMG.nbh, RADIO, BOOTLOADER, OS, RCUST) and reposrted that Update Complete | UPDATE SUCCESS. Will try to detach it now
Yay! I long-pressed power button to shut device down and started it normally and now I have my euro-mozart. thanks everyone for posting great info on goldcard flashing for wp7!

Works perfectly
Thanks ansar, I'm not entirely sure of all the updates contained in this firmware, but it did sort out a few bugs
I picked up a surround from Telus on the first day of release, unlocked it and am now using it on Rogers.. One of the most notable features that's missing from these first gen surrounds is the lack of the "FIND" speech command... It's in the documentation, but it's not enabled in the original stock rom.
The TELUS rom you provided here enabled that, among a few other minor fixes.
Now the big question is; When NoDo is released, will it include firmware and radio updates?? Or will it be OS updates only?
ansar this software is not working in my hc surround, i got with the demo mode and flashed this rom but nothing changes, after a few minutes it goes back to demo mode.
i had a hd7 and it was on demo mode i flashed one of your roms and is fine now, why is not working in my surround?

Hi,
If flashing is as you describe, this is the case that there is no actual flash taking place.
It is like a hard reset and that's why demo mode recovers.
You must disable demo mode with a registry change or otherway, and enter run mode.
Can you side load *.provxml or xap files, after chevron unlock?
Regards, ansar.

You dont need to. I successfully flashed a demo-mode surround successfully.
Just do a hard reset
1. hold vol-up/vol-down, power on while holding
2. release, follow hard reset instructions
3. pull the battery before it reboots
4. boot it in boot-loader mode and flash successfully!
also, question for ansar... if i flash an unbranded rom to my htc surround, will it still be sim-locked?

Thank you very much for the support ... can you tell me what language they bring? now that I have the original AT & T and is only in English. I need Spanish ... gives a rom that you posted on the forum is set to that language later?
Another important thing, to change flash 3G bands? that I do not want to fail then the 3G (I use the 850 band, who have phones from AT & T)
Thank you very much again for your input.

HTC Mozart can´t flash a rom with and without Goldcard after Installing a wrong rom

Hello,
I have a big problem with my german HTC Mozart ( T-Mobile version ).
2 weeks ago I flashed a RUU Rom to unbrand my mobile.
With this Software version my mobile is still branded and don´t work correct.
I would write more about the problems whith my mobile and this firmware, but my English is to bad….
After that I can´t flash any other Rom.
I tested to Install many other Roms, but the RUU installer every time says “Wrong Model ID”.
Then I looked my Phone Informations and see:
OS Version: 7.0.7004.0
Firmware revision number:2250.09.12803.111
Hardware revision number: NA
radio software version: 5.52.09.16_22.33a50.10U
radio hardware version: 0.0.0.0
Bootloader Version: 1.28.2250.3(113810)
Chip-SOC: 2.2.5.0
With the Rom, I flashed should be something wrong…
The Information on my Boot Mode Screen ( Rainbow) should be wrong, too
MOZA100 SS-BC (4K)
SPL-1.28.2250.3(113810)
MicroP (LED) 0x07
Touch C1(v69)
SD SANDISK 15193MB Class0
Partition Info-v211v413
In a german forum I found the same problem , but there are no solution.
Also I tested, to flash with a Goldcard.
I read all instructions to create a Goldcard an how to use it in this forum.
I think my created Goldcards are all OK but the USB HOST Screen every time says:
1. Loading
2. Checking…
3. And 3 second Later Serial on the bottom of the Display, but nothing else is happens..
Any Ideas?
so you have this problem for two weeks now?
what rom did you flash?
check the mozart forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=779
and maybe this will help you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12120618&postcount=6
Yes, i have this problen for 2 weeks now.
It was a unbranded T-Mobile 1.28 rom.
Thanks, i have found someone else, with the same Problem, but no Answers.
see here
I have my Goldcards created with Ubuntu and Windows... Ubunto to find the CID and Windows, to create it...
And it seems to work, because the mobile is loading and checking the rom of the goldcard, but 3 seconds after checking... is the serial messeage in the bottom of the display and checking.. on the top, but nothing happens...
I had the same problem with my HTC 7 Trophy, flashing a new ROM did not work, and it changed the Model ID of the Phone. Once that has happened there is no way to flash a different ROM.
I tried various tools to try and get the Model ID changed back, if you use MTTY you can read the Model ID, but I don't think you can change it with that tool.
In the end I had to send mine to back to HTC to get the mainboard replaced.
hm sounds very bad..
but i think i saw the awnser somewhere...
try checking other wp7 devices forums,
hd2 people are very active..
hd7 people too...
somewhere ive read about some "force rom download mode" by pressing camera button on boot too, dont know if there was truth in it...
you say you had the t mobile 1.28 installed or you did try to install it?
it is not "unbranded" if its from tmobile (or do i get the term unbranded wrong?)
i belive there are 3 different t-mobile roms: TMO-DE, TMO-CZ, TMO-AT
these are all branded roms,
if you want unbranded you get: HTC-EU or HTC-Generic
ive used this method to unbrand my mozart from tmode 1.25 to tmode 109 to HTCEU 1.28
if you come from TMODE (as a german you should) you may want to try the 109 rom (works without goldcard)
so that i understand right, you can use the OS but you cannot make calls because of the cooked radio?
Hi, I have a German rom 1.28 installed, because i only can choose German or English language, but I do not remember which version it was. I think I previously had to install a 1.09.
However, there is something not been in order.
I think that the "force download mode" for this time is just for Zune, but I try to search for more information.
If I could flash any firmware I would do, but there is the problem with my "Model ID".
I think, the goldcard method is the right way, but it don´t works.
To eliminate errors about my hardware ( selfmade y-cable and hama 19in1 usb-cardreader ) I have ordered a delock y cable and a single usb-sd reader to try it on weekend again, but I think, the hardware is not my problem.
But i can test it not before weekend, because I´m a truck driver and only on the weekend at home.
Phone calls can I do with this firmware.
My display is out, if I choose a phone number. This time I only can hang up with the headset or by take out the battery
It works again until the other person accepts the call or the mobile hangs up automatically after 8 or 10 rings.
The volume of the headset ( earphones and micro), with this firmware is to quiet, too.
There are many problems….
somebody else with 1.28 and problems?
you dont need goldcard to flash back to stock rom
you should be able to flash any stock tmode rom without goldcard.
try to flash 109 without goldcard.
I´ve tried to install the
“RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.09.001.16_5.50.09.15_22.23.50U_Signed_by_ansar”,
but after 1% my mobile reboots and the RUU Installer says:
244 wrong “MODEL ID”
are you sure it is a german Mozart?
this rom you flashed is made for unbranding.
Have you tried this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817691
just saying....
that suxx have you tried this?

Problem Solved!
Here are the steps I took to resolve the issue I was having, with the Mozart stuck at bootloader, "Enter USB Host...".
First I formatted the SD-card, then used my brothers Android phone with ASTRO File Manager to extract the CID code from the SD card.
1. Insert the SD card into the Android phone
2. Start the ASTRO File Manager
3. Navigate to sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:aaaa (instead of aaaa there could be something else as well)
4. Long press on the 'cid'-file
5. First select Open as, then Text
6. Then select File-Editor
7. Write down the number 1 to 1 onto your PC/Mac
Once I had the CID code, I used http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard to generate & email me the goldcard image file.
I formatted the SD card at this point, FAT32, 4096 sector size.
I then used HxD Hex Editor and Disk Editor to copy the goldcard.img into the first sector the SD card.
Heres how:
1. Run HxD as Adminstrator
2. Open the SD card by going to Extras > Open Disk > Physical Disks (important) > Removable Drive. Make sure Open as Read only is unchecked.
3. Open the goldcard.img by going to Extras > Open Disk Image.
4. From the goldcard.img, Select All and Copy all bytes.
5. Paste into the first 384 bytes of the SD card - offset(h) 0x0 - 0x170.
Next I copied a European ROM on the the SD card (in explorer as you would with any file) and rename it to MOZAIMG.nbh
With the Y-cable I booted the phone and to my disbelief it started and successfully reflashed the phone.

Hope this helps!

@pik.
I have tested to flash the "RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.25.111.05_5.50.09.18_22.24.50_RELEASE", but after 1% the same problem "Invalid Model ID"
@webwalk®
I have created the gold card according to these instructions.
I have no Android phone, so I have the part to find out the cid solved with an Ubuntu Live CD and my built-in Cardreader.
The goldcard seems to work, since it goes from loading in checking..., then it is always the same on serial
Edit: Yes, I´m sure, that it is a German HTC Mozart.
i've the same problem with 1.28
can someone help us?
i have the same question
my hardware version is also NA

i had at first the dynamics7 1.00 mango rom installed on my htc mozart.
after that i made rspl to 1.28.
after that i tried to install RUU_Mozart_S_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.02_5.71.09.02a_22 .51.50_RELEASE. the flashing started. than the phone restartet and installed spl 5.12 but the flashing doesent went to finish because of vendor id error.
now i cannot flash any stock tmob de or htc europe rom because of vendor id error. (clear because of spl 5.12) but the slspl rom doesent work, too. every flashing stops at 1%....

Unbranding Phone - Orange UK

I am sure that I am not the only one who has bought an Orange UK phone and wants to use in on another network. I'll get an unlock code to allow my T-Mobile SIM to work. But I want to unbrand the phone too so that I get rid completely of all the Orange branding and Orange software. What are my options?
1) simply flash with alternative branded ROM.
Inevitably this doesn't work and the RUU.exe program quickly indentifies the phone I am trying to flash has the Invalid Operator ID and will not flash it.
2) Goldcard.
I have a Windows 7 Phone Goldcard which I have created using an XTC Clip. I have copied the Europe.nbh ROM over to is and tried rename as OMEGIMG.nbh and RADAIMG.nbh. I've used a HD7 Unlock Kit Y-cable and put the Radar in USB Hostmode, but it has done nothing. (The same cable and SD card worked perfectly for my Mozart.)
3) Ansar's supplemented ROM method.
For other devices Ansar has supplement parts of the nbh file to twick the valid Operator ID check, I think using a "bin to d000ff builder". However, as I understand it, this won't work unless I have an RUU_Radar_Orange.exe file to start with.
Any other ideas?
Have been trying to flash .nbh file in Bootloader mode but stuck on 5% and bricked my phone and motherboard had to be replaced.
Have you considered flasing in USB mode using OTG cable?
Bought this one:

Could you send how to make goldcard for wp7?
Sorry to hear you have bricked your phone.
I've got a little further in that I have definitely established that the image for Goldcard needs to be OMEGIMG.NBH (not RADAIMG.IMG). (With Radaimg.nbh the device says image not found.) Once the phone is connected to the HD7 Unlock cable, in USB Host Mode, with OMEGIMG on the Goldcard it says Loading, then drops into "Bootloader" mode, but with neither Serial or USB displayed.
I've not heard of the OTG cable. How does that work?
For Goldcard I made mine using the XTC Clip (Mozart mode). You can do it a longer method using an Android or Windows Mobile 6.x device which includes an SD slot, or a laptop that has a "real" SD card reader (not connected over any USB bus).
OTG cable is a cable which allows you to connect usb stick/sdcard reader via USB
it definitely works with SGS2/Nokia
Oh yes, I've just looked up info on the "On-The-Go" USB cable. It seems that there is a subtle difference from standard USB so that the device (mobile phone) can act as a host. Will the OTG cable allow the Radar to power the SD Card reader? Is there any evidence of it working on any other HTC Phones?
I haven't tried that yet

I'm embarassed to say that trying again with the goldcard I have misled you. On either filename the device says Loading, then Image not Found before dropping into Bootloader mode. I had not watched carefully enough before.
But from this I conclude that the device is seeing the goldcard (as before the y-cable is connected it does nothing), but not finding the correct image.
Any suggestions what other filenames should be tried?
So far I have tried IMG.NBH, OMEGIMG.NBH, RADAIMG.NBH
Is there any other code for the Radar 4G ?
You might want to check on the HD7 forums or the hacking forums for WP7. I have never used the Gold Card method so I am not sure how it works. Is it just an nbh file deployed to the card or is the card specificly formatted and then the nbh extracted to the specially formatted card. As far as I know the xtc clip only supports the HD7 and does not support the Radar (yet?).
Hello everybody,
I've tried with 2 differents RUU and I have the same problem; it stuck at 5% and I have a windows with IU534 error "flash write error happen".
I've also extracted the content of the RUU and launched the Rom update utilty, same way...
My phone's always starting on the white screen (radio-16.23.02.09_2).
Any ideas ??
I think it's a bootloader blocking but I've not enough knoledge to unblock it.
PS : sorry for my bad english, I'm french

As I have warned before - your phone is bricked and as far as there weill be decent developers for Radar you cannot do anything but send phone to be repaired.
The bad is that I am waiting from 14th od November and no results (they have ordered motherboard from the supplier)
Thanks for your answer masi0, I hope you'll receive your phone soon !
Looks like it's an Orange problem (mine is Orange France), I'd like to know if any other members have succeeded in updating their phones !

can anybody help? radar sim-free, not brand. It problem with phone - not with brand
....t-mobile unbranding without problem by goldcard....
Wow, after a year of frustration whenever I have tried to unbrand my phone I have finally found the solution. I hope it helps others and of course it is a simple solution.
My mistake was that I made the goldcard and then copied the NBH file over to it (I'm sure that's what I did before with the Mozart and it worked). However, what worked for me was that first I formatted the MicroSD card (Fat32), then copied the NBH file over, renamed as OMEGIMG.NBH, then ran the GoldCard Tool as administrator. Once this was done, I put the phone into USB Host mode and connected the Y-cable. I left it alone for an hour whilst I did something else and returned to find the phone had been updated and debranded with the NBH file required.

I give up to debrand my mozart

I give up to debrand my mozart, i've tried use the Y cable with differents ROMs, and i didn't had sucess, i've tried all tutorials possibles. All tutorials i've tried I stuck in USB Host bootloader screen, i've tried 3 diferents microSD cards. Please, someone help me, i really will give up...!

Hi hakmed,
your y-cable looks good.
But, perhaps a stupid question: Did you try it with an Single -Card-Reader and a normal SD-Card? A Multi-Card-Reader doesn't work, as far as i know.
Good luck in debranding, don't kill your phone...

I assume you have not downgraded it yet, that is why you are using the Y cable.
You need to first downgrade with an older ROM from your region.
Read the thread mention below, it will send you to another thread where you can download the correct ROM to download to.
Did you push the camera button at the same time as the down volume button and then the power button. To enter USB host mode.
I followed this thread
[TUT]SPL Downgrade from 5.x - RSPL and HSPL - Flash Custom ROM - Trick Marketplce
It worked for me.
I'm not downgraded yet, and I still branded with Orange FR
That's the reason I am trying use the Y cable
I've tried this thread too:

but stuck at 1%, and reboot
I used thisTUT

dont work
cuz my bootloader is 5.xx
I think my mozart have a halfbrick
Mine was 5.xx. as well
You just need to follow all the steps.
I think it took at least 15minutes to load the first time
Sorry I cannot be of more help.
Have you tried another SD card
try changing Card reader. In my experience, i have used 4 card readers (all are in good shape). 2 microSD card readers, 1 SD card reader, and 1 Multicard reader.
1 used 2 cards. 1 microSD (2gb) and 1 SD card (2gb).
surprisingly, the multicard reader and microSD card worked with my mozart. from SPL 5.12 i was able to downgrade my device's SPL to 1.26.
