[Q] Looking for input method widget - TouchPad Themes and Apps

Running XRON v 2.9.1
Does anybody know of a widget to toggle between two input methods without having to open up a text field and long press?
Ideally I would want a widget with the option to pick two. Each tap would move it along the list and activate that input method.
I have my Touchpad paired up with a Bluetooth keyboard using BlueKeyboard JP to pair the device. This seems to work well but after some time the keyboard times out and goes to sleep. Waking up it does not pair unless I toggle the input mode and press the connect button on the keyboard at the same time.
When not using the keyboard I use Thumb Keyboard 4. For most daily activity this is fine but the full keyboard is great for longer messages.
A toggle would let me quickly get the keyboard setup before I go into the app/apps that need the input, then quickly get back to my mobile setup.
Thanks

Are you switching on the swiftkey (or alternative) keyboard under settings --> Language & keyboard? Then, when you get ready to type in any field (you'll still see the default keyboard), do a long press with your finger until you see a pop up that says Input method. Select input method and then you get another pop up that allows you to select the keyboard of your choice. Select your alternative keyboard and it will then appear for you.
I was using TNT lite 2.2 - I just plugged in the usb transceiver and it worked. I had it from a splurge earlier and used it with presentations - if the dongle were smaller it would be very useful.

Switching keyboards when docked?

so when im using my prime without the dock, i use swiftkey. When i dock, i want it to switch to the asus/android keyboard. i can still type, but theres a few nitpicky things. Like if im typing a question on the phyiscal keyboard with swiftkey on, and i end with a question mark by hitting SHIFT ? on the keyboard, it capitalizes the first letter of the last word.
example:
Hey how's it Going?
so is there an easy way to have it switch input methods when i dock, or is there a way to just use swiftkey and not have it battle with the physical keyboard
I'm also very interested in this - have you worked out the best way to get around this yet?
There is a program in the market called keyboard manager that allows you to select which keyboard to use when the prime is docked, landscape and in portrait mode. However it needs root access.
You can press ctrl+shift on the dock keyboard, to change input method and ctrl+space to change language inside asus keyboard.

[Q] why must Note 3 set Samsung keyboard as default when switching to BT keyboard?

i just bought a new generic bluetooth keyboard for use with my Note3 and my tablet.
when I do normal thumb typing, swiftkey is being used.
the annoying part is that when i connect my BT keyboard, it insists on using Samsung keyboard as default. After disconnecting it, the default does not switch back to Swiftkey and i have to manually set it back.
2 questions :
1. is this the normal behavior?
2. any workaround to this issue? - best scenario would be the onscreen keyboard is automatically hidden and Swiftkey remains as my default keyboard, so there is no need to switch after i leave my BT keyboard on the desk.
thanks.

Z4 Tablet with OEM keyboard dock observation/usage

Got a Z4+keyboard dock package from Amazon last week. Have been very happy with the great netbook-like combination. Want to see if everyone has any tips/tricks in utilizing keyboard dock. Here are a couple of my questions/observations:
* Using PIN as screen lock and it seems that every time I open up the netbook mode, the screen lock does not default to PIN input screen and will need to do the swipe-up to get to PIN input screen. Even after swiping up, you need to touch the PIN input area to "focus" so that the keyboard input will work for PIN input. Kind of annoying. Remember that some CM roms for other devices has some setting that you can set to show PIN input screen directly after waking up.
* The touchpad 2 finger scroll, i.e. scroll page up or down, works in Chrome or quite a few apps. But I could not get it to work in Microsoft Remote Desktop while controling a window in remote Windows 7 desktop. Will try other Remote Desktop app to see if it is app-specifc or not.
* Still not sure if we need to turn off the keyboard power if we won't be using the tablet for a while since I noticed that keyboard light/led on the right seems to be blinking when the tablet is sleeping.

BlackBerry Launcher allows short and long-press keyboard shortcuts for homescreen

I was thinking, if BlackBerry Launcher allows you to customize keyboard short-cuts to any key on the Priv/KeyOne, maybe it'll do the same for the Gemini.
Yes, it does! The launcher isn't as flexible as Nova, but it allows you to set up keyboard shortcuts while on the homescreen. So, for example, I can quickly go home with Fn+D and then long-press M to launch Google Maps. You could toggle Tasker shortcuts or anything else as well, possibilities are pretty endless.

Great thinking. It does work! I created Ctrl+ type short cuts.

You created shortcuts that require you to hold down Ctrl first? How? The only options I see are long and short press.
I mount the Gemini in my truck as the head-unit when I get in (I'll share the solution in another post). Just created a Tasker profile that when I long-press Q it turns the display brightness all the way up, sets display timeout to never, connects to my Echo Dot via bluetooth, then reads back "Car Mode On."
When I hit Q again it reverses everything and says "Car Mode Off." I'm having fun hacking this little device.

I installed the BB launcher then just pressed the Ctrl key with a letter key (e.g. "e") and the launcher offered me some options to link to this combination.

No, it's either a long or short press of a single letter. You are unnecessarily holding Ctrl, it's not needed.
I tried Blackberry launcher but couldn't get it work in landscape, anybody been successful for this?

Make sure your Planet App Bar is set to Force Landscape and Display Settings are set to Stay in Landscape when Rotated, or get an app like Ultimate Rotation Control which allows you to fine tune rotation, which is what I did. Set it to Force Auto, which will allow apps to rotate that don't normally allow that.
