[Q] How to remove the blue line on bottom of the status bar... - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

...but keep the statusbar itself? (... on ICS 4.0.3) does anybody know?

some attachments to explain what I mean...

hmm, whats your build?
I got 9.4.2.11.1, and I don't have that bar at all.

I have that blue bar. I thought that was an ICS thing considering it is the exact same shade of blue ad part of ICS theme.

Why remove it? Looks really pretty to me... But, you could probably try to edit the framework-res.apk or launcher.apk.

That doesn't look like the default launcher.
@Thread starter: Do you have installed a different launcher and/or ROM?

I don't think the Transformer Prime has custom Roms yet?
Least none that I have heard of...

That is ADW EX

yeah i'm still not sure i understand...OP, i still don't see a blue bar in the screenshot from the link you posted or the screenshots you posted in this thread. I see a blue bar in the first screenshot, but i dont see anything where i would expect it to be in the second shot.
TF201 | XDA Premium

Yep, he's referring to ADW EX launcher. I have the same issue with that launcher. I don't want to hide the status bar, but I want that blue line gone. That issue and the auto wallpaper cropping problem with ADW are the reasons I went back to the stock launcher.

Maybe you should ask the ADW devs how to remove it.
Greetings,
KBanause

...this is what i am going to do.... (ask the devs) ... and yes, i got AWDlauncherEX
@tdrussel: the link is only for showing what i like it to be... i didnt realize at first, that the "blue line" is part of ADW.... so i was wondering...
those two screenshots are showing what i got, and how it should be...
I´ll tell you, when i solved the "problem"....

I could be totally wrong, but it appears to be a part of ICS, not adw. Other app such as settings, astro, root explorer etc. all have that blue line across the top. Probably something that would have to be altered in framework.

Hello
I'm using LauncherPro and just yesterday I stumbled on this post on xda.
Now, I don't care about the wallpaper, but I really like those buttons. So first I did try to find the icon pack (it is called "Manup's Simple Word Icons 116SET") and then tried to make some of the icons myself, but each time I noticed that the words just aren't readable on the screen (too small!).
So I was wondering, does anybody use such a theme and is willing to shear it, or does somebody has a solution for this? Or is our resolution really that bad?
Thank you in advance!
Hey, I tried using this app too once and had the same problem, I'm not very clued up on Photoshop so never tried to solve it that way......
Instead I used another app custom launcher icons, which gave me the text icons that we're readable. There wasn't much customization in it though so got bored quickly, I think the icons in that picture are actually blank icons placed over a custom dock background which has the text on it.
I've done it that way before a while ago, let me have a search for the theme which came with blank icons n ill get back to you.
EDIT: The theme I used for the blank icons was called sense adw theme by androidfeens.
You can use the blank icons from that then find a custom dock with the text on.

No I tell a lie he did actually use that app to make the text icons and then placed them on top of a custom dock. Must be our resolution that sucks with the app, oh well glad you reminded me about this just made my own custom dock again.

Interesting approach, but the only restriction is that this way of working limits the amount of docks to just one, as the dock-background is the same for every dock..
Yeh that is a problem for multi dock users, doesn't affect me as I only use one, for the basic phone functions.

Same when I used it u i forget I have them, and found it easier to just use shortcuts

A bit late, but I've found an app that creates readable word icons! It is called 'Simple text - text icon creator', is made by 'redphx' and can be found in the market for free. For a screenshot, check attachment.

[Q] tnt lite 4.40 status bar

I just flashed my gtablet over to tnt lite 4.40 so I could play pvz. I did the market fix, but not everything is there. So far I've noticed that adw launcher is the only thing missing (I haven't looked for everything). Also, when I go into an app with a white background (e.g. the gmail app), the entire status/notification bar is white and I can't see anything (e.g. the time, etc).
Is there a way to fix these 2 problems?
I see the ADW launcher in Market. I have TNT Lite 4.4 too.
Try the build.prop olympus fix for Market.
I use Launcher Pro and have the same problem with gmail. I think it
is due to background color of app being the same as foreground color
of launcher. I dont see a way in Launcher Pro of setting the font color.
Maybe Launcher Pro Plus with a different theme would do it. Some apps
like K9 mail can change the background color too. Gmail cant.
However it does not bother me, usually going to settings in the app
like gmail, gives the time, as the settings are usually dark background.
OK, thanks. I'll try the olympus fix. Do you know if there's a way to change the status/notification bar so that it's not transparent?

Modding your framework.rez files might work.

Where is the framework.rez?
It should be in system/framework
and its the Framework-rez.apk.
Idk if that's really what you'd need to use but you could always post up in the ROMs designated forum and ask the Dev.
Framework works for most theming at least on devices I have used.

How to display the App Name under the Dock Icon?

I'm currently in CM10 nighlty 09/04 using the Touchwiz UX launcher. This launcher typically displays the app name under the apps that are in the dock, which is currently not the case for me (see my screenshot below).
Does anyone knows how to get the app names to show under the apps that are located in the dock? I'm not sure if this is a problem from the launcher I flashed or from the CM10 code because the stock Trebuchet launcher also lacks that functionality.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
OK so I went back to CM9 and flashed the UX launcher we have under our theme section and sure enough, the names are showing under the dock icons. So I think it's safe to say that the fact they are not in CM10 is probably due to the Jelly Bean UX launcher port.
So my question now is, does anybody knows what needs to be modified in the launcher apk so that the app names can be displayed under the icon? Also, is there any plan for someone to port the s3 jelly bean launcher to the s2? If so that would most likely solve my issue at once.
Thanks!

So you can't figure out what 5 dock icons are without the names being displayed under them? Just curious about why its such a big deal.

Without the names, there is a lot of empty space under the icons as you can see from the screenshot, so it doesn't look as good. I know for a fact that TW UX comes with the labels under the apps that are in the dock, so i'd be nice to be able to have it the same way.
I solved my issue. It seems there's been some sort of corruption during all my flashing that eventually affected the TWUX launcher. I wiped and started from scratch and all is fine now.
Edit: The problem was not due to a corruption, but rather to the fact that I had reassigned the hardware keys and enabled the three-dot menu display. I guess when doing so, the launcher imagine that it's because on-screen buttons are present and thus some additional space is created.

stock wallpaper vs custom wallpaper on GS4

So the stock wallpaper on the Galaxy S4 goes all the way to the notification panel at the top and makes it transparent which i love. I figured i would try and load a custom wallpaper and it would do the same thing, no go! This is kind of disappointing that the stock wallpapers have dimensions that sideloaded wallpapers dont. Has anyone figured out a way to cover that area so it looks as nice as the stock wallpapers.

This is well known, Samsung has come out and told us you only get the transparent notification bar on their wallpapers. Their reasoning, which makes sense, is that they don't know what kind of picture you would be using, and certain backgrounds would make the navigation bar text unreadable.
The only thing I can think of is if you use Nova Launcher, you can enable "transparent notification bar" somewhere in the menu, that might let you do that with all wallpapers.

You don't need the lock screen with Nova. Lock screen is a different APK. You can still change the two by going into your settings -> My device -> Display -> Wallpaper and then pick Lock Screen or Home Screen.
Here is my issue. I've gotten my luck screen to be transparent v by luck. I tested that luck changed wallpaper and lost transparency. Anyone else run into this

You could replace one of the stock wallpapers. I looked and they are packaged as drawables in the wall paper chooser apk (SecWallpaperChooser.apk). I may try to do it...it is essentially like making a theme.
BTW, the stock wallpapers are 1920x1920...I guess so they work in landscape?

Colored icons for system settings, battery, wlan

Most of the custom ROMs have beautiful icons for the home screen and applications but monochrome icons for Android settings, battery, wlan, etc. Can anybody suggest a theme or icon pack to flash instead of copying single icons? I have the Cromi-X 4.6.4 rom on my TF300.
The ADW EX LAUNCHER has a ton of themes and icon packs.
Also, Beautiful Widgets has a bunch of widgets for wifi, bluetooth, etc.

This is not what I mean. I am not talking about the homescreen icons or widgets. I mean, for example, the notification icons and the android system settings icons. Something like the theme butterfly Bam for my S3

Ok, I see what you mean now. I use UOT Kitchen when I want to change things like that. You can also get the images from other themes that you like, go in and manually and edit them yourself. That's about the only way those can be changed. You need to make sure they are the same size, etc. too.
Have a look here, this is a fantastic theme for the tf700 but unfortunately it is not compatible with the tf300, it bootloops the device but maybe if you ask timberwolf he might also make it compatible with the 300 or if he does not have the time and is happy for me to do so I could port it for 300 also. This would take some time though as it would require alot of images to be resized.
