[Q] Can I customize the haptic feedback? - HTC Amaze 4G

I know I can turn it on and off, but is there a way to soften the vibration? There's an app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netqin.ps that requires a login passcode when you open it that has the perfect vibration feedback, and would rather all of my haptics respond like that.
The app is brilliant too btw... It helps when you have pics of your spouse you don't want friends/family to see as they look through your gallery

Maybe I should have put "i hate my amaze" "amaze vs sgs2" "this phone got ics before we did" or "when will we get ics or jellybean."
Then I would have gotten a reponse for sure.

I swear I know what you mean..... And I would love to reply but I do not use haptic feedback its unnecessary for me.....
This load of crap was sent from an HTC Amaze using Tapatalk Pro.

some roms have integrated custom adjustment of the vibration, but nothing on a stock amaze, its either on or off

Thanks for your reply. There's nothing stock about my Amaze outside of the hardware... Maybe I will pm NRGZ28 and request the addition for the next release.

I would love to do this!!

Turn haptic feedback off when typing?
Has anyone found a way to turn it off when typing using the default keyboard? It's rather annoying. I've turned it off, but it still vibrates when typing. Looking forward to any fixes, suggestions, etc. Thanks.

you just go into keyboard settings, input settings or whatever then untick "vibrate"

Thanks! That did the trick.

Search Button Half Lit On Boot Up

Discaimer: I'm apologizing in advance of this seems like a stupid question or post.
I noticed that my search button partly illuminates when I first turn on my phone if it's completely off. Once the phone is fully booted and my home screen comes on all of the other buttons light up properly as well as the search button.
It just seems a little odd, but isn't causing any problems. Anyone else have this? I'm just hoping it's not a sign of potential hardware problems. (Yes I have insurance but enjoy full root with hboot 1.4)

Mine too. I was always kinda curious about whether it was common or not, but it never really bothered me too much
Yes, its normal. They should have got that fixed before finalizing this model.
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
Mine is the same way as well. It's a light leakage. If I use one of the kernels with dim LEDs, my buttons look like ass because of this. Most people can lower their value to 2 (in ..../button-backlight/currents), while I can only lower mine to 14 before it starts looking dumb.
Mine is most prominent when in recovery. Only time I notice it.

Cool, thanks for all the replies. Happy to know it's common.
By the way it's nice to see some fellow Evo/Hero guys in here. I recognize Leukay and Tailsthecat from one of those 2 forums. Don't know you guys personally but nice to see you in here. Actually I think I recognize Rydah803 and Ducky1131 too so good to see you all here.

I've noticed this too. It does make the phone look like crap when the LEDs are off.
It's light "bleed" from the screen to the search button. it most visible in recovery, probably because your screen is completely white and it's easy to see the white light bleed.
Kinda sad that HTC didn't fix this issue before releasing the phone.. Cheap internal build quality, perhaps?
I think it may be due to the fact that they used some sort of clear plastic to put together the inside. If you open the batterycover you can see what I'm talking about.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e using Tapatalk
I got it too and my phone is a recently assembled device on one of the latest h boot builds. Doubt this will be fixed so i guess we live with it...
Same with me I thought only i have that issue.
Seems like HTC did a bad job in this area. I also have hardware build 0002 so I guess it's an issue with that build.

[Port] To the Amaze

Can anyone please port the TORCH application that is in the market (also comes with CM roms), and make it fully functional?
I have downloaded it from the market (Nexus Torch), and it seems fine, but on "High Brightness" it flickers on and off way too much.
This is one of my fav apps.
Please and thanks

supposedly this is bad for your LEDs whenever you turn it up on the highest for a long period of time or make it flicker like a strobe light. people have reported after keeping the app on for around a minute the LED burned out lol. Forgot which phone it was but it shouldn't matter, also if you notice your phone gets pretty hot when it's on, I only use the flashlight app for emergency and I'm sure that's what its intended for.

Why not downloading it from market and use as you so wished? Is there a non-compatible issue?

I just need the high brightness setting, It would be nice to have it, I voided the warranty lets get the most out of it!!!
It would be nice, family, friends, and strangers are always asking me to look at their teeth (I should stop mentioning to people that I'm a dentist, I'm afraid if I say I'm a janitor they'll ask me to come clean their floors though!!!!!!), of course this really does nothing major (They really need a full exam in a office setting) but gives me a better idea of what can actually be done and a high brightness would be nice...

Put a small, removable sticker over the light sensor on the top of your Rezound?
You can always get them to our come on, on demand, by placing your thumb or finger over the light sensor.

The ineffibilis gingerbread rom has the option to keep the lights on. ICS roms have them on all the time I think.
There's an app called keyboard backlight. It lets you keep them off or on all the time

well I'm not rooted so the only fix I see above is the "tape" fix or the "cover censor if you need to see them" fix.

I was using the mik tweaks in the inneffabilis ROM for this, but you have to reselect it every time you restart.

Blocking the sensor works, but...
I just tried putting a small piece of tape over the sensor and found that it works. The red buttons always stay on regardless of the ambient light conditions, however, during a call the screen will no longer go dark so that your ear, cheek, etc are no longer prevented from inadvertently clicking on anything. Obviously the sensor has a double duty.

Screen turning on slowly

So I have noticed this with all of the roms I have flashed (can't remember if it happened with stock sense) but when my phone is asleep and I press the power button, the capacitive buttons turn on right away, yet the screen turns on around 2 seconds later. It's just annoying since my GF's Dinc 2 turns on instantly as well as my roommates DROID razr. Is this a Rezound thing or is my device just different? And if it's a Rezound thing is there any way to fix it, I have tried raising the minimum clock speed to over 1Ghz and still the lag persisted.

Are there any kernels you would recommend that get rid of this problem and that I can run on an AOKP rom?

I haven't played with aosp, but the Bamf kernel has a quick screen on on sense 4, and 3.6. I don't know if it works on the newer builds of aokp, or cm9.

lol sorry that i point out when you do your little talking out of your ass for "facts" thing.
I have this issue happen occasionally with stock ICS (both the OTA and Global Leak), but only when it is very bright out (mid-day, sunny, cloud free) and the phone is in my pocket... pull it out in the sunlight and press the power button and it takes 15 seconds for the screen to "crank up", it's just like the brightness slider is being moved very slowly from off to where it needs to be. And it only does this when Automatic Brightness is enabled, if it is turned off and I am set at specific value, it never does it. Guess I just took it as a annoyance rather than a bug since it doesn't happen often for me.

I don't think you'll find an app since such a thing had to do with kernel capabilities. Unless it supports the feature, you can't set the option. If you're lucky and you ask nicely, a dev might listen and build it in. Of course it's entirely their decision.
