Checkbox Icons for EnergyRom (3/10 build) show up as SRS icon - HTC Amaze 4G

Hi, couldn't post this in development, forum wouldn't allow it. In any case, I have Energy rom installed for my Amaze, the new 3/10 version, and since I first installed this rom a month or so ago, the checkbox icons throughout the OS show up as the SRS Enhancement icon. No reason why, but I've posted a picture to show what I'm referring to.
I was wondering if there was a way to fix this. I've wiped and reinstalled, and still get the same result. I've also flashed the correct kernel, so I don't think that's the issue.
Any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You might want to start a thread General, yes you can't post in dev because you need a total of 10 post to do so.

Sorry we derailed your thread there. Hopefully someone can help you get this fixed.

Edit: I read this wrong -_- i see the problem
But just use a theme that uses boxes completely, like the ICS theme or the Energy theme out there

If you have a skin other than the one that comes with the Rom, this might happen
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Xparent Green Tapatalk

Here is mine, the bars are disorted, I have an ics skin not a theme
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Xparent Green Tapatalk

Thanks for the help everyone. Just a question, how would I install a theme on top of the rom? I have the rom installed without any theme's. Is there a specific way to get a theme setup on top of the rom?
Thanks.

Edit: The checkbox icon has been fixed with this theme! Thanks a ton!

Update 16/08/14 [JB]Custom bootanimations for S Advance

HI there, I give to you a custom bootanimation for S Advance. At the time of making this thread, there were no kernels support it but there is an app that will make it possible. You can also install a cocafe kernel now that supports custom bootanimation.zips
Here is the thread
Bootanimation4u thanks to XDA developer smokin133. A
And thanks to Abhinandh Ajay for finding this app for without it I wouldn't be able to share the bootanimation
Install that first from recovery and reboot then copy the bootanimation.zip (see attached) to your system/media with your favorite explorer that access the root partition. This isn't a flashable zip.
Here are a couple screenshots of the animation:

As always I am not responsible for any damage to phone by doing this. Always have a Nandroid backup saved.

Updates Here are a couple of flashable zips with a better version of the bootanimation imho. They both are in qmg format. Probably only will work in stock firmware but if anyone tries it in CM or KitKat roms report if it works or not. I installed it with TWRP but should install with CWM. Just make sure to mount system before installing. As always you want to back up your originals in case you want to go back to them.

Here is a flashable zip that says Galaxy SII Lite instead. Also qmg format.

simple steps for installing custom bootanimation
Hi guys i have a simple steps for those who wanna install a custom bootanimation on their samsung s advance phone...
(Your device must be rooted)

4th, after that, it will bring your root file and search for ROMTOOLBOX, tab it, search for boot_animations, tab it, choose your disire bootanimation, install and reboot.
Opsss, i almost for got, if you download it to your device, copy the file to roomtoolbox(in your /sdcard > boot_animations > paste
Your're done !
IF ANYTHING HAPPENED TO YOUR DEVICE, I WILL NOT RESPONSIBLE TO IT, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!! THE STEPS ABOVE WORKS FOR MY DEVICE AND I'M NOT GUARANTEED IT WILL WORK FOR YOUR DEVICE TOO

Whats the use of the app? Can't I just open bootanimation.zip and put all the files in the corresponding folder??

[Q] Unsolvable Battery Drain (Help with BBS info)

Hi People from XDA,
The last 2 weeks my phone (a sk17 mini pro) has been a pain in the ass, since the battery is lasting only 5-10 hours. This changed from one day to another, and before this happened, the battery usually lasted 2 days. It happened once before, but a factory reset helped that time. Now, I've tried everything, and nothing seems to work. Reinstalled my ROM (the Octane v6), full wipe, tried with the stock ICS ROM, and the battery lasts the same. The only thing that helps is the airplane mode, but obviouslly, that's not useful. I've been checking with BBS to see if there is a wakelock making all this, but I'm unexperienced in what should I do with the dump file info. The dump file is attached, and is after about 10 hurs, of which 7-8 where in airplane mode. I'll upload later a more representative dump file of the problem (going to charge the phone and leave it wothout airplane mode overnight). Somebody help me, PLEASE.
Edit: Attached the new BBS info (overnight with no activity+no airplane mode: 10% aprox /hr!!!)
Edit 2: Attaching photos.

Why you don't post your issue on the octane rom thread, so maybe someone or the OP can help you? I think it's better than post it here. BTW try this: Add those lines to the end of your build.prop.

Thank you for answering me. I didn't tried in the octane ROM forum, because as I explained in the op, it seems to be a problem indepedent from the ROM I'm using, since the drain is present even if I flash the stock 4.0.4 ROM. Because of that I thought that the problem might be in the kernel or something like that (no expert, so I'm not sure what stays unchanged between flashes).
About the build.prop, don't know much about that, but I'm gonna look into it and tell you what comes from that.
Any idea from anyone is welcome.
PS, dunno if it's important, but the bootloader is locked, so I had to use DoomLord tools to root the phone.
When you have exhausted everything else, try this
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom kernel
FYI the kernel isn't changed btw rom flashes and in ur case its stock

Sadly I can't unlock the bootloader (or I would have done it to root the phone in the first place ;D). Checking the FTF files from Flashtools, there are kernel parts in the files, so it seems that flashtools does flash the kernel every time (maybe you meant with CWM).

Well, I tried what you told me. I found that in the build.prop file one of the attributes you told me was duplicated, and the other was either with attribute 1 and 0. Changed that for what you said aaaaaand, no luck :C. Didn't change a little thing. Thanks fot he idea anyway.
In arc themes and apps there is a thread by iridaki to properly evaluate battery life jst post ur logs there she has helped a lot people with logs including me. And dont ask me for link of thread search in arc themes and apps u ll easily get.
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using Tapatalk 2
It seems that your mobile network uses a lot of your battery. From what I see in your log, your phone is always trying to search for network so that uses a lot of battery and explains why airplane is helping with your battery draining.
I see two possibilities:
- software problem: Did you change your baseband? Try to put the last one.
- hardware problem: some of your component is broken (maybe amplifier) and signal is realy weak so your phone is always searching.
Do you have problem having a phone call or sending message? If not, it's probably a software problem.

You can probably still use any software like "yet another auto brightness" from play store or many others have given the brightness bar you can use it, since I wont be able to work on anything now, maybe someone could get it fixed. (though I'll try and make some time to fix it "no promises")

Thanks bro
Yes, the "white setting" is worked, but there's some problem in it. Beside the error with the brightness setting, I also unable to access the power Management settings. It's force closed. That means I can't access the Stamina Mode and I also unable to see the battery percentage ?????
battery percentage is a must for me. Without it I'm unable to see how long my battery life is left.....
**Please fix Sir

Stock Kitkat Rom..Life is Better Now

Hurrah..
As I promised, Take this goodie from me. Another Stock Kitkat. This is based on F180L firmware.
This is only flashable via Philz Recovery. No other recovery is supported as of now.
Statutory Warning: It is your phone. Do not blame me for anything. I am not responsible for any harm you do to your device.
Most things are fixed. It includes Stock music app, Stock boot animation from LG(I really like this!). Integrated vu talk with the contacts app. Knock Off support, Three finger Slide, OSP and many more things you will just love,
This is just a test version, so some things do not work!
1st when you install the rom, the1st screen greets you with English, suddenly this changes to Korean(it might be other also). Again change to English in the same page. Then it fixes to English.
2nd Root does not work. You have to flash SuperSu
3rd MTP SD card is not working. means when connected to computer, the SD is showing as blank. Media scanner is also failing. Will see this soon.
4th, 5th, 6th you report...
Now the detailed steps:
1. Flash Philz recovery
2. Flash Stock KK Thanks to @Level99 for the hosting.
3. Flash SuperSu
4. Enjoy and report bugs!
Below is the version 2, the deodexed rom with lots of goodies from lg g3.
Deodexed Stock Kitkat
Flash this for SD Card fix Thanks to @knight4frat
Hit thanks if this has helped you :good:
This is just a request, if you like my works, Please donate to upgrade my network.
Reserved for future use
md5 value of the ROM:

Nice!!!!
Downloading now, will report my experience tomorrow when i flash it, unfortunately my dsl connection is only 2mb/0.5mb at home, and i already went over my data cap for my cellphone. But thank you so much for your work. :good::good:
One small suggestion @gourab4u can you put the md5 check-sum of the file, that way i and others can check if the ROM is downloaded correctly before flashing, and thank you again!
Link Temporally Disabled!!!
:crying: When i was downloading it failed and when i went to try to download again, i saw the cause, link temporally down due to high traffic :crying: Oh Well!! Guess I'll have to wait a couple hours to try again.

Did u face any problem with WiFi ? i tried porting the ROM and WiFi wasn't working ... even Logs were not helping in figuring out the things
EDIT : For getting pics , music in gallery & music player from external SD , download app "SD Scanner" From Market ,
Open it & change the path to scan from "storage/emulated/sdcard0" to "storage/sdcard1"
Let the scan complete .. u'll be able to see all the stuff from External SD & also some stuff will be accessible in computer
via MTP Mode ...

Tethering/Hotspot

Has anyone gotten any form of tethering to work on this phone yet? (either by modding the native hotspot or a separate app)
Has anyone tried this MOD on their M9 and gotten it to work?
Have you tried flashing the script?

No, because it has framework edits. That could be a disaster. On the other hand, I have a backup... nothing to lose i guess, except time.

Hello,
You might want to look into /system/customize there are two files in the sprint rom that contain the APNs in an encrypted format (cust_cdmaconn.dat and cust_gsmconn.dat) . I was unable to decrypt them, but found that simply deleting them reverts the APN settings to the ones located in /system/framework/framework-res.apk > xml > apn.xml
I have been changing my APNs for a while and find it easier to change them directly in the framework-res.apk. I have an old version of apktool and a few bat files that I use. I can upload them if you need them or can't decompile the framework-res.apk yourself. Hope that is what your looking for.

Hello,
Glad you got it, I did understand you have a mod coming, was only trying to add some new knowledge I found out about the M9. This thing seems much different then the M8. Interested to see how you did it.

yeah, @chas123 figured this out a while ago, shortly after posting his M8 mod...so now in our M8 ROM (and upcoming M9 ROM) we are deleting cust_cdmaconn.dat, and changing the apn in fwres & also another edit in telephony-common.

for this hack, u need to be on a deodexed ROM...I'll be posting a stock rooted deodex ROM, if you want to go that route
Thanks for the reply about the hack and the deodexed ROM. If that ends up being the best solution to get tethering, then I will go that route. My question, as I am unclear, is can that ROM then be applied without the loss of the customization and app settings on the phone? Also, future OTA updates would not work as they would have to be applied via your releases, correct?

But no more "broken" than rooting was now. If you used the existing procedures to lock, restore stock recovery etc. then you could take OTA and reunlock, etc.
That would be the only way to get the firmware from the next OTA (until we s-off). Right?

Exactly, it makes no difference how big or small of a change to system, ota will be broken.
Even after s-off, you will have to flash a untouched system and stock recovery to install ota.
