Where abouts do you live? It may not have been officially released in your area yet, or by your network provider yet.

So given this, you DO realize that if you did actually get the I9100, and you are on T-mobile USA, you will never get faster than Edge mobile data speeds... Right?
EDIT to add: before you ask (and I'm sure you would have), no, there is nothing you can do to fix this. The phone lacks the necessary antenna hardware to receive one of the frequencies T-mobile USA requires for high speed mobile data.
Also, I live in the US, and I'm on ATT, and I've NEVER been able to get Kies to update my phone. I've just used Odin to flash firmwares myself.

GT-I9100s do not receive updates from Samsung for the US market as there are no US carriers that sell this model. AT&T sells the SGH-I777, TMobile USA sells the SGH-T989, Sprint sells the SPH-D710.
You can use odin to update official firmwares without root.

I'm trying to flash using this:
I9100XWLP4 Download (Thanks To SamMobile!)

Yes, you need drivers. But a question. In Odin, when you plug the phone in while on download mode, does the COM box light up yellow? If so, then you already had drivers. If not, then yes, install Kies for the drivers. But make sure Kies is not running at the same time Odin is. They don't play well together.
Also, make sure the usb cable is plugged into a main board port, and not a hub or keyboard pass through.
And maybe you don't care, but did you see what I said about getting slow mobile data speeds on T-mobile USA's network with this phone?

Yup installed kies and it worked

Glad you got it sorted out. But you never acknowledged the data speed on T-mobile USA issue and I've now told you about it 3 times... please don't post back here asking why your data speeds are really slow.

Just for reference. On T-Mobile, I had around 0.01-0.04 Mbps download and 0.01-0.03 Mbps upload compared to 4-6 Mbps download and 0.7-1.2 Mbps upload on AT&T. (Obviously edge speed vs hspa+)

I hope someone can give me advise if I can use ICS ROM that is currently available from other countries. My S2 phone is from middle east.

[Q] My new S2. Root attempt gone wrong. (Slight panic :P) SOLVED. TY.

I did the mistake of attempting to install this pre rooted kernel: STOCKPLUS-GT-I9100-XXLPB-KERNEL-ROOTED through Odin.¨
I couldn't find a version that matched my kernel gingerbread.XXKL5 so I thought it would be okay to just install any kernel with the same android 2.3.6 version.
All I wanted was to root my phone, now my phone won't even boot. I think it's stuck on a bootloop ? It goes to the samsung warning triangle screen and stays there.
My phone doesn't seem to be able to enter recovery mode. However, it can enter download mode ..
I'm finding this whole rooting business slightly difficult. I'm in over my head. Please, assist me.
Kind regards,
Nate.
* UPDATE: Managed to reset my phone using the steps detailed by Ctomgee (my hero) I thought my phone was done for. Again, thanks everyone for the invaluable assistance you guys have provided! I even got back all my apps and data
ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: Back from the dead.

Surely STOCKPLUS-GT-I9100-XXLPB-KERNEL would be 4.0.3. rather than 2.3.6?
If you're a noob, why ignore all the stickies and FAQ and jump straight for some random kernel?
I was reading a lot of posts via xda dev forum and someone linked to that kernel and I dunno what I was thinking. Apparently I wasn't thinking at all. SORRY. Now how do I fix this? =(

Before you make things worse, are you even sure you have an I9100? A quick search for XXKL5 revealed I9100G as more likely.

You can try KL3 from Chainfire's CF-Root thread. Should work. Or just use Siyah or Speedmod, and be done with it.

Yup. There are MANY different SII's... Most have completely different model numbers. GT-I9100 and GT-I9100G are similar, but have different chipsets, so are not compatible for firmwares. Take very good care you only flash things meant for the I9100G.

That is forced download mode. Means you have to flash something to get it working again.
As long as you can get to download mode, it's not hopeless.
Try this.
Thanks! Just completet step 2. Repartition with Odin successfully!
Waiting 30 mins due to d/l limit on mirror site but then I will download firmware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ and proceed with step 3. Should I just get the European one?

I experienced it last weekend. Bricked!
Having the same issue mistaken I9100G for I9100 and flashed Kernel based on I9100. Initially hanged at the Samsung logo with Yellow Triangle when reboot the phone it shows Phone---Exclamation----PC.
Searched and tried almost everything except sending to MobileTech.
After days of trying I resend it back to Samsung Service Centre claiming got the Logo after updating new FW from Kies.
With no questions asked from Service Centre, they restored my phone the next day.
I would advice you to send it back to service centre if you run outta options.

I actually feel slightly cheated since the product advertised is clearly the S2 with dual core see
http://www.bazula.se/Samsung-Galaxy/Samsung-Galaxy---mobiler/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-i9100.htm
Read " Dual Core Processor på 1,2 Ghz "
According to my knowledge, the i9100G is actually limited to single core and is clocked at 1Ghz ?

You need to download & flash an I9100G stock rom. I don't have any experience with the I9100G (apart from seeing posts on here from people who have them), but look in this thread (I don't know which one you should use tho).
Edit - And be careful in future, only flash roms/kernels specifically for the I9100G

custom rom by CWM, and after I pressed install in Aroma Installer, it just kick me out all of sudden, and
then, I couldn't get back to CWM anymore, so I decided to flash some stock rom by odin, but what
had happen was it starts until "Nand write start" and stacked for a while, and then just FAIL me.
On the net, I found that Checkrom Resurrection V4 could rescue softbrick i9300, I tried, but
no luck either. Finally, just now, I tried a 3 files stock rom with pit, and it came out as:

1. reflash custom rom by CWM
2. 3 wipes - (but I am no longer to get back to CWM)
3. flash stock rom - hong kong combo firmware @ Samfirmware - by Odin
4. flash Checkrom Resurrection V4 by Odin
5. flash stock rom - 3 files firmware + pit - by Odin
6. changed usb port
7. changed PC
8. uninstall all applications relative to Kies
have you guys got any idea what can I do? I am thinking to mess-up the phone even badly (till it couldn't switch on), so that I can take it to Samsung Service Center for warranty replacement, but have you got ANY method I can do that to mess it up? Or anything I can over-come from the soft (or hard) brick. PLEASE Give me some help guys. I am very struggle.

By the way, it seems that your s3 is bricked pal.

i was using Omega since v.9 until v33.2 at the last minute. and I found a video in youtube to resurrect my s3 by flashing Checkrom v4:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNaQfdOi56E
tried it as well, but it seems doesn't work as it kept rebooting / hanging at the Galaxy S3 logo. And I tried to flashed some stock rom (combo file) from Samfirmware, no luck neither. Tried to flash some stock rom (3 files + pit) HK base rom. Same happened. Fail after Nand Write Start.:silly:
and now, couldn't get into CWM neither.

Dear Friends
I HAVE MESS-UP WITH MY i9300!!!!
The incident is I was using custom rom, and installed some stupid app called "Adblock" or something,
and then, my phone just keep went-off for about 8-10 times a day. So then, I decided to reflash
custom rom by CWM, and after I pressed install in Aroma Installer, it just kick me out all of sudden, and
then, I couldn't get back to CWM anymore, so I decided to flash some stock rom by odin, but what
had happen was it starts until "Nand write start" and stacked for a while, and then just FAIL me.
On the net, I found that Checkrom Resurrection V4 could rescue softbrick i9300, I tried, but
no luck either. Finally, just now, I tried a 3 files stock rom with pit, and it came out as:

Try TURN OFF antivirus, update Kies, Try on other OS.
Because I had the same problem with own S3.
Windows 8, AVG IS 2013, Odin 3.07,3.04.
Everytime after few second Odin stop working and show FAIL "Complete(Write) operation failed."
But on Windows 7, updated Kies to 2.5, turned off AVG, Odin 3.07, fresh downloaded rom ELK4, Galaxy S3 slowly but finished NAND write

The gs3 does NOT have a locked bootloader. The OP has to tell us wat he wants to do. And Nand write fail most probably means the nand memory is destroyed and needs new motherboard.

Because I have the international version I wasnt sure if some versions of the s3 not necessarily the gti9300 were all unlocked. I had read somewhere people were having issues with a possible locked bootloader hence the question.

I'm sorry, I'm not usually one for having a go or derailing a thread... but...
1. The OP has not explained his type of phone. It could be from anywhere. Have a different model code or anything. Korean? American? Canadian? Singapore?
2. The log doesn't say what type of phone he has, merely that he is trying to install that particular rom to it, for all we know it could be the wrong rom.
So to the OP what is your exact Model Number. Where are you from? Are you sure the rom you are installing is the correct one for your phone?
Are you just connecting the phone? or are you in download mode?

phone became a paperweight after newest OTA

Well I decided to go completely back to stock and update through Verizon's OTA's until I get 4.1.2 before I try the minitab rom again. Well I odin'd back with no issues, got the first OTA installed and it worked fine. Got the newest one and it seemed to install just fine, but when I tried to boot it up it was bootlooping on the note ii logo. Pretty much try to boot up for maybe half a second and then start over. I tried to Odin back to stock again but it's failing on the boot.img. I am really hoping that installing the newest OTA didn't corrupt it but that's the way it seems, I am trying to dl the full restore without keeping the bootloader unlocked and see if that works. Thing that pisses me off is I have flashed probably fifty roms through all my phones yet never once bricked. Now the first time I take an OTA I have a $600 paperweight.
Well I tried the full restore in Imnuts' thread and it's still failing at boot.img so I am guessing I am screwed. Now the question is will Verizon send me a new one under warranty since it was something from them that caused it. Odin just shows this:

It's been a while since I've done any troubleshooting, but checkout this thread by Adam Outler called "DON'T ACCEPT OTA UPDATES" in the Verizon Galaxy Note II General section. I'm aware that you aren't experiencing this specific problem, but it's possible that it may fix your boot loop problem.
If you happen to get your phone back up and running, I'd suggest checking out the Verizon Galaxy Note II Android Development section, because there are a couple of flashable stock 4.1.2 ROMs available. There're basically the OTA 4.1.2, but modified so that users with unlocked bootloaders can flash it as though they are accepting the OTA 4.1.2 without loosing root and their unlocked bootloaders.

Awesome thank you. Worked perfectly. I feel kinda embarrassed I didn't look in Adam's thread. But the issue was caused by something a little different than what he warned against. Either way phone booted back up. Definitely irritated I didn't look better,
Glad I could point you in the right direction.
