S3 leaked video? looks pretty real - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3Ei61wWOr4w
Some background on this video...
How these guys in Vietnam manage to do it is beyond me. Tinhte.vn has done it yet again. They have managed to get hold of the Galaxy S3 and did a short video of it, in HD and posted it on Youtube where it went viral before it was pulled down.
Since then, a number of reposts have been made by other parties which makes taking the video down more difficult if not impossible. Tinhte published the first unboxing of the iPad 3 (or new ipad), it was also the first website to come up with the white iPhone 4 with 64GB.
The video shows a phone that appears to be a variant of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with a similar system memory capacity, display size and resolution and OS. The onboard storage stands at 16GB, there's a quad core Samsung Exynos 4412 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, NFC, an eight megapixel camera and a 2050mAh battery.
This matches some sources which said that the Galaxy S3 would be an incremental improvement over the Galaxy S2 rather than a radical change.
The new phone appears to have dropped the slight bulge at the back and opted for a flat smartphone, certainly as a result of the case brought again Samsung by Apple over claims that the S2 was the thinnest phone in the world.

Meh. The video doesn't really reveal anything we didn't already expect. Plus, the phone is disguised in a generic case, so we can't see what the real design is going to look like.
The 2050mah battery is an improvement, but not what we need. We need something similar to the 3300mah battery in the Razr Maxx. Especially if it's not removable.
At this point, the only thing that will make me interested in buying this phone is if it ends up being bezel-less, and that is looking unlikely.

Why is this here?
And if those specs are indeed the real specs, Im glad Im jumping to the One X. The AT&T version will probably put in a Snapdragon processor for LTE (because every new smartphone has to have LTE now) and it wont have NFC due to AT&T pouring money into Isis. Incremental update indeed.

IIRC, the Exynos 4412 will support LTE. No reason to switch to Snapdragon.

AT&T will probably use the sane processor as the One X... the S4 Krait which is a really good processor.

The phone is clearly in a shell. Remember the iPhone 4? They hid it in a 3gs shell as a disguise..... But I can't wait until May 3rd. I also get braces off that day

Damn straight!

I'm really torn on what to do. I got my GS2 on the 9th so the One X release date is well within my 30 day return window. But to be honest, I'm sick of Sense and really had my heart set on the GS3.
I suppose the financially prudent thing to do is get the One X so it will have the best resale value should I have an incurable boner over the GS3.

No way that's the gsiii... like what some have said its probably that rumored mid ranged phone, the galaxy m. And if a mid range phone comes with a 2050mah battery imagine what the high end/flagship will be... maybe I'm being a little too hopeful. Oh well, don't care. If the gsiii is a bust I can wait

I knew the next batch of super phones was on the horizon and the One X would hopefully be out before my 30 days was up. The GS2 is such an upgrade over the Amaze, this is almost like new hotness to me.
I've been called a lot of things in my day, but patient isn't one of them.

did you guys not hear that was not the actual case the GS3 is going to be using? It's just a dummy case.

New teaser. Funny at the end.
Anyone put any thought into the blue and white puddles. Could it be a liquid metal type screen.....or the flexible screen. Just a thought i had for the hell of it.
Edit:
After looking around i see that Apple has an "exclusive commercial license to it"
Probably old news...so don't tase me bros....
Stay thirsty my friends

I say in a year and a half our phones will have 2 to 2.5x the power and capabilities we currently have - but I'm willing to bet batteries won't improve for 3ish years.
These things will be able to replace laptops and desktops through docks or projectors and better use of connected peripherals like virtual keyboards and wireless mice.
I'm betting 3.6-5ghz processors, 100-200gb space, faster/instant networking, full mobile gpu's and hacking will be more prevalent maybe even problematic to society.
Ah computers.

Should I wait or should I buy the Galaxy Note LTE? HELP!

Hey guys. I've been wondering for the past 2 months on what phone(carrier) to get. My contract with T-Mobile is ending and I definitely want to switch to either AT&T or Verizon, (sprint originally but just because of the epic 4g touch) . My contract ends beginning of April and I am wondering what should I do. Should I wait and see what May will bring smartphone-wise or should I just buy the Note on AT&T ? What somewhat stops me from getting the note without any consideration is that it is not the Exynos processor (i know that people will say it does matter, but it does) and this will be my device for the next 2 years. So far I've played with the Galaxy Note and I like the big screen but it seems that it is not as snappy as the Epic 4g touch for instance. I may be wrong but please give me an advise. I am spending numerous hours looking at reviews and going back and fort to at&t's stores lol, trying to decide. What should I do? Do we think there will be something coming to the US in May, early June?
If I were in your shoes I'd just wait for the HTC One X.
It beats the Note in every way except the S-Pen. (which personally I rarely use)

Or if you don't mind waiting longer... the Galaxy S3.
I had Verizon. just recently and t-mobile..galaxy nexus on verizon and galaxy s2 on tmobile....this note rooted with running scripts makes this phone a beast......the screen size and resolution is amazing .....the htc one is limited...no sd card?.and others ...so what its a tiny bit faster....scripts and overclocking this device is more then enough processer speed to mutitask....and gaming is unreal on this screen size...ill never get another smaller device....just my opinion

so with a little faster processor and a smaller screen.. be as fun as the note?...lol...this resolution and screen size makes the note what it is.....gaming....internet..etc is much better with a screen size of this device.....I wish they did have that processor in this device...but if your smart with tools...you'll never notice a difference in speed per device

But other things are important too.
Camera Performance - The Note lags BAD when taking photos
Screen - It's not that the Note's screen is too BIG, I just don't like the screen ratio. It messes up some of the apps and puts other apps (like Google Music) into tablet mode. Smaller screen will also have higher pixel density. Read everyone's first impressions of the screen.
Krait - From what we've seen so far... it beats the Tegra 3 in almost every single benchmark, and has twice the performance as the S3 in some other benchmarks
also the One X will probably be more widely adopted here for devs on XDA so I'm optimistic about what some devs will come up with.
But for me personally. I will wait until I see an official spec sheet / announcement for the Galaxy S3 before I buy anything.
Or maybe wait and see if or when Sprint or Verizon gets the Galaxy Journal with possibly a different and better processor that would have LTE support. Rumor has it that Samsung will have their new Exynos processors compatible with LTE so they don't have to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon processors in the future.

I was in the same boat when i purchased my Galaxy AT&T Note about 2 weeks ago. I said F-it & went with the At&t over the International being my area is appose to get LTE come June. But im finding that HSPA+ works fine for me, plus i don't have a unlimited data plan.
That said i think i am stuck currently being i already exchanged my White Note for a Black one a few days back. "GF talked me into the White one" & i think you can only exchange once is this correct? DAMN HER! Lol kidding, white was nice but the black is more sleek and business like.
I paid full price of $650 for mine. I have two upgrades due in May. My GF is using one and i was gonna save the other for the Galaxy S3 or perhaps the HTC one X. Wasn't really sure.
Basically i am sorta wishing i went with the International version of the Note. But i mean i still love the At&t version.

Wow GS3 preorder for $800. And I see the "LTE 700" info, which I assume means that it should run fine on at&t LTE.
On the topic, if you're willing to continue to stay off-contract, I would say that it's best to wait for an ICS Note to come (hopefully soon)...or wait like another 2-3 months, and numerous new phones should be released.

its all rumor...they have had that up for a while now..actually may have been another site I had seen that on.
If you look around there are reports that the model number they used will most likely be a Galaxy SII plus...which matches info I have received from a friend at Samsung...
Thanks for all the replies. It seems too good to be true to see the Galaxy S3 out for preorders. Furthermore, the image used on their website is one that has been migrating from forum to forum. Some say that even though this may be real, it won`t be here until next year... how about now?? Galaxy Note or Htc One X ?
The HTC one X looks really interesting, specs and all. That might be a good one to go with. That is unless you have held a Galaxy Note in your hand for more than a few days, the HTC will prob feel tiny lol.
I did not need a few days.. within the 20 minutes of playing with it, I love the huge screen but considering that people are having speed issues and having to resolve to rooting flashing roms etc to make it faster, dunno.
I really wanted to hold out for the HTC as well. But my A9192 crapped out, so I had to get something.
In stock form I didn't notice any lag on the Note with TW. I haven't rooted yet (which is a record for me with Android phones). It's normally done the night after I buy it.
I installed ADWex, tweaked a bit, uninstalled as much AT&T **** as I could. I'm pretty happy with it. My first Samsung smartphone. The screen on it is amazing. People want to complain about it some, but it seems amazing, and as we're on XDA, most of the noobs you might hand it off to in the real world will also be amazed by the size/clarity/colors.
I was pretty hesitant the first day or two because I was used to ICS, overclocking, and unlimited options on my last phone.
The screen, size, build quality, and speed have been perfect though. I think it would lag if you had tons of widgets and bull**** running, but if you are smart, it should be a great phone. I don't think I could go back to a smaller one at this point.
Obviously every phone is faster with modified kernels, overclocking, and fresh roms, but I was ready to be disappointed with this phone, and somehow I was not. I also love that I can buy extra batteries and throw in my MicroSD from my last phone.
Oh yeah, the S-pen...I thought it was a bit gimmicky, and it is...but at the same time, I use it all the ****ing time to just draw stupid pictures or annotate screenshots.
TL;DR - Great phone. Only major drawback is Gingerbread. If you can live without ICS for a bit and it will fit in your pockets, get it. There will be a better phone out no matter what you get. The form factor on this one made it unique enough to take the gamble.
I would recommend buying the International Note from Expansys and use a plan for Straight Talk or Red Pocket Mobile instead of buying the inferior AT&T-version and lock yourself into a 24 months outrageous priced contract.
A calculation is coming here:
$299 for the AT&T Note plus at least $100 x 24 for the contract (including taxes and fees).
Total price: $2699.
If we take unlimited talk, unlimited text and the data plan with AT&T the price will be like this:
$299 for the Note plus $140-150 per month for the contract (including taxes/fees).
Total price: $3659
With Straight Talk, you get unlimited talk, text and approximately 2 GB of data for $45 per month or slightly cheaper with the 3 months card.
The calculation is therefore like this:
$680 for the International Note. $45 per month for the service.
Total for 24 months: $1660
Total saving compared to the unlimited AT&T plan: $1999.
I don't see any reason to pay $2000 more for the AT&T Note over the 24 months period.
For those $2000, it is possible to buy both the Note 2, 3 and even 4. I.e three new devices instead or just save the money.

[Q] Considering the SGS2

Hey guys, I've got kinda a two parter question..
The first is this, do you think the SGS2 will be able to keep up as a leading Android phone or at least pretty high end for another year or two? Also will development keep up for much longer? Or would it be more logical to wait for the SGS3 and go for that?
And, assuming it would stay active and strong, do you think the price would drop once the SGS3 comes out dramatically? As in is it worth getting it now or should I wait for the SGS3 one way or the other.
Thanks in advanced!
The hardware of the sgs II is pretty nice. As you can see, the xperia s and the new htc smartphones (one s, one x) got sgs II-hardware.
This means our lovely galaxy will stay at top of all for at least a few more month. Then the sgs III will be released.
Thanks to apples 4s, htc one s x and the xperia s the sgs II is nowhere near being outdated.
One more thing, 4.3 inch is the limit for me! I dont see why people would buy the sgs III with a 4.65 inch display.
thats true haha, the size is the thing that worries me... however the screen covers more of the front so im thinking the actual SIZE of the phone won`t be that much greater
I can get a rooted with ICS installed SGS2 for 400$... is that good you think?
the only thing pulling me to SGS3 is how much longer itll probably last than the SGS2 just being released over a year later... but price worries me of it too since people are guessing over 800 and thats too much for me :S
Also would be nice for continued dev support
Try and get it cheaper without root and ICS as you can apply both of those yourself with all the guides available here. I'm not sure what the selling price is for the gs2 is in $, so the price you quoted could be cheap as it is lol

That's a good point... less risky. My main thing is, is the SGS3 gonna be worth the 2 month+ wait and the extra like 300$+... waiting isn't a big deal, 300-400 dollars is XD
Pretty much in the same boat as you. My contract with Sprint will be up this Summer, so looking into a GS3 (or other quadcore handset). I've heard the GS3 may launch next month in England, though not sure about the rest of the world. I've read conflicting reports on whether there will be a unified global launch, so it's possible N. America will have to wait until Fall again.
Another thing to note is that while Tegra 3 is benchmarking better than all the dual core ARM processors out there, it performs really poorly compared to Apple's A5X chip. Given this, it's probably not a stretch that SG3's Exynos 3 will outperform it as well. There's also Snapdragon, though that isn't expected until Q4.

That's probably because the iPad 3 has a quad core gpu. Plus you have to remember Tegra 3 was already late to the game. It was supposed to be out last summer but as usual Nvidia can never deliver anything on time!
Also no apps seem to be using more than 2 cores. Most are only utilizing 1.
The quad Exynos will only come close to the A5X gpu performance if they use at least a dual core Mali 600.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
One of the main reasons im considering the SGS3 is cause i think that android and apps are starting to become optimized for more than single core.
For me though the main selling point isn't actually the GPU, but rather the huge battery (anything over 2k is awesome!) and the tons of RAM, nice internal storage, SD card, and if this phone is any indication, probably good dev support I would get the HTC One S if it werent for the no SD card and pretty small battery :/

Really? That's unfortunate. I thought ICS automated much of this, though I suppose it makes sense that each developer would need to add support from their end.

I know. The Nexus Prime has that issue as well. I'd imagine flashing ROMs would be unnecessarily complicated, since they have one giant partition.

I'm not so sure about that, i think it wouldn't cause too much trouble, but the thing is with 16 gb of internal memory, after ICS and sense and bloat, that'll leave probably less than 10gb of actually usable memory which is too little for me in the long run :/

I would just go for the S2 as soon as the retailers in your area starts to sell them out cheap (to get rid of stock before launch of S3).
It's a great phone, still getting updates from Samsung - resulting in great mods from the XDA community.
And when the time comes that you'll be needing more power, just overclock it - extending the lifetime of it (for your use, NOT the phone itself).

This sounds very much like the deliberation I have when buying any new piece of tech, such as a laptop, always looking for the next new thing and wondering whether to wait or take the plunge now.
I would vote for an SGS2. It's a super phone with a massive modding community behind it to at least push it for another 1.5 to 2 years. I've had mine since July of last year and I'm only now seeing other phones catching up so you certainly would be behind the times with an SGS2.

Samsung Galaxy SIII- 05/22 in London-Yes i will definitely stick with my awesome Note

Leak pics and introduce on 05/22/2012 of the SIII? I usually change new phones every quarter until i got the Galaxy Note. I will certainly stick with this untill Note 2 coming out just because of the screen. Anyone here have the same idea?
SIII Specs:
Quad-core processor – Exynos 4412 with ARM Mali-400 GPU
4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display
8MP rear-camera, 2MP front-camera (as suggested by a supposed image taken with the SGS3)
2GB RAM
4G/LTE
Ceramic Case

Wow, now those specs are awesome.. Just wish the camera was 12MP instead... But I def would cave in throw $300 @ that w/o a problem off bat. Might just completely hold out for this , the -.2" screen real estate wouldn't be missed coming from the Streak....
I feel like this is just a photoshop. Home button, power button on the opposite side? The home button especially. Doesn't fit in with the prospected worldwide launch, as I'm sure they would do away with the physical button for North America. To me the physical button in reminiscent of old smartphones. I'm certainly keeping my Note but if the s3 actually looks like this I won't be getting it as well. I have 3 upgrades to use this year lol but I'm not going to get a phone with a big clicky home button
Edit: This is definitely a photoshop. The volume buttons on the left are not shown from the side profile shot, showing the power and camera which would be on the wrong side.
I will pass not willing to give up on my 5.3 inch screen. Love my note.

Def getting the S3 when it becomes available, love the note just loved my beloved S2 more and miss it. Cant wait for the S3.
The leaked pics are BS.
Qualcomm doesn't have a quad-core chipset available yet.
Unless this runs on their 8960 chipset [that has an integrated LTE chipset] the performance of any S3 released before Q4 2012 would probably be very similar to the Note.
The leaked pictures are just mockups, and it's a good thing too. They wouldn't sell many with a phone that looked like that.
I, for one, won't be changing - I've been through three Android phones in the last year and finally found one that I love enough to keep for some time.
My wife, however, will be able to upgrade in August, and at that time I'm guess it will be curtains for the iPhone 4; I think she'd like the HTC One X but no one touches Samsung's screens right now, so it might be this one, if it's out by then.

If that's true (and they don't need to use Qualcomm) then scratch everything in my previous post.
That phone will blaze, undoubtedly, but I still don't foresee myself going back to a sub-5" screen again.
That first link is definitely a fake.
I'm pretty sure that was one of the concept pictures to the iPhone 5 that was all over YouTube before the 4S came out.

The S2 and the Note are already "valid" iPhone competitors.
The only thing apple has over any current android phone is a smooth OS, but that only lasts until the next major iOS update, at which point you're forced to get a new phone.
IMO, it's another bogus spec of SGS3
Whatever the s3 is I'm getting it.

this time i'm undecided
normally i'm jump right into the next best Samsung device without much of a though, but without knowing what's in the bag this time, i'm not as eager to get it
however if it's really a Quad core and runs on AWS 1700, then i'll sure hit it
the problem is there are no official quad core exyno CPU announced by Samsung
and Tegra 3 or Tegra 4 is a no go, nVidia doesn't like open source, so do not expect any updates for your Tegra devices
and the Qualcomm S4 / S5 quad core doesn't look like to be ready yet for this year, it's been relatively quiet in that front
So I don't know if you all got this, but for some reason I wasn't billed the upgrade fee for my galaxy note since you could only preorder the note on a contract and not without one. If I am able top do this with the s3 I will probably sell the s3 and wait for CEA 2013 to roll around the corner.

I just bought an AT&T Note today from XDA but I'll be really tempted to switch to a SGS3 if it comes with Samsung Quad-Core & LTE. If I'm able to control myself, I'll wait to see if what Note 2 comes with.

Note 2 coming to Sprint: Photon owners, would you upgrade?

http://phandroid.com/2012/09/07/sprint-galaxy-note-2-confirmed/
Leaked from XDA itself, hope its true.
I wanted at least a 4.7" or 4.8" for my next device; was also thinking of trying WP8 (after 2 years and numerous Android devices).
But this 5.5" beast is way too tempting.
If it indeed comes to Sprint then it gives me a reason to stay with Sprint (& Android).

What say you, Photon owners?
Is this the device that would tempt you to upgrade?

Just hop that post right over to the Note forum! Am happy for you.
Just not in the Photon forum.
Honestly, feel you took 2 right turns, when maybe you should've took 1 left turn?
Post in the correct forum please.

Well, I am a current Photon owner & user; so my thinking was along the lines of starting a discussion/feedback with/from other Photon owners who might be in a similar boat. Since the Note is not on Sprint, I figured I'd post here rather than on the AT&T Note forums.
I guess since my OP doesn't mention anything about current Photon users and/or Sprint customers, its a bit lacking.
Anyway, no big deal, we can move this or let it die out.
Thanks!
OP had everything right to post in this section. DGBH. As a current member of the MoPho community it is fine to post about other phones in the general area. I see other people do it too.

Thanks for the info. I currently have a Photon and have been hoping Sprint might get the note.
Unless we see a Motorola nexus device, and the rumor is true, the note 2 will be my next device.
I hate Samsung devices with passion. Mostly for all its constant problems carrying over device after device.

I'm in the exact same boat as OP. I was strongly considering getting a WP8 device, though afaik none have been announced for Sprint. But, the Note 2 specs sure are compelling.
Sadly, Sprint has committed itself to sell the iPhone for the next few years and won't take a shot at a fledgling OS like WP.
Even though WP8 is creating excitement among a lot of users, Sprint doesn't seem to think it will sell as many devices as the iPhone. They have a 'wait & watch' approach with regards to WP8.
And as much as I don't like it, I can't argue with the logic. The iPhone has proven to be Sprint's fastest selling device (or something to that effect).
Oh well, as long as they get the Note 2, I will be happy.
The specs are compelling especially the quad-core CPU and the 2GB ram. It makes it future-proof, well as far as it can go nowadays.
On a different 'note'; XDA has created a separate forum for the 'Note 2'.
Quad core, with old cortex A-9 cores. Looks like the number of cores is selling itself again. Not newer, power saving technology with better performance.

Well, true.
Before the release there were some rumors about the dual-core 5512 (I may not have the right number) powering the Note 2. I guess Samsung wants to keep it for the next year.
I guess Samsung's strategy is to have the same internals for their flagship Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series. If they release a device within a few months, and with better internal hardware than its 'main' flagship, its sales will suffer, come next year. By using the same internals, it probably also cuts down on their development time.
Since the Note has sold as much or more than flagship devices from other Android vendors, it has become Samsung's secondary flagship (so to speak). I see them carrying on this tradition of offering two phones with the same chassis (CPU/RAM) but with different bodies (4.8"/5.5").
Going with better internals on the Note would pi$$ off their GS buyers (even if they have no intention of considering a 5.5" device).
I understand their strategy, but I don't understand people, why are they donating companies with so much money for similar hardware, they already have, just slightly improved. What is better on Note 2, comparing to Note? Doubled cores (almost the same) and doubled memory. Or S2 comparing to S3? Only number of cores.
Not much real performance upgrade for everyday usage, but high price again.
But I cannot wait for comparison of performance and price of LG Optimus G with S3 or Note2.

I am sure you really hurt Sprints feelings. I have a two upgrades coming up, I will be getting a new Android and the new iPhone.
How many Photon owners would like to see similar features in the Note 2?
[1] Global SIM
[2] Kickstand
[3] Camera button
Personally I would want the Camera button the most, followed by the global SIM slot.

Dude I seriously love sprint for its service. But the photon and s3 are its only good phones. I never likes apple much due to the small screen

I really like the note 2 but my next phone will probably be the s3.
I'm trying to talk my wife into upgrading from her evo shift to the note 2 so I can play with it.
I like the photon but the video I saw made me consider buying one outright instead of waiting till next August for my upgrade. The pen is cool but being able to watch a movie and browse the net or whatever at the same time would be awesome.
I owned a Photon and because Sprint did not have good data service in my area I have decided to switch to ATT and got the Galaxy Note 1. I can tell you this, the phone is big at first but if you tell me to go back to the smaller size.... I will say forget it. This phone is good and function as a tablet itself. Performance wise, everything is good but compare to Photon's reception, and GPS performance, I would said Motorola is better. It does not mean the Note is bad... Note works well but not as good as Photon in some indoor areas. My next upgrade will be Nokia WP8, I am waiting for the next Lumia and skip the up coming one. By the end of next year the OS should get more mature, Nokia will come with new hardware, probably get edge to edge screen and better camera.

[Dilemma] HTC One or GalaxyS IV?

Assuming that the SGS IV will be an Exynos Octa, and that you don't care much about the difference in screen size or about removable flash or battery, which one would you go for? SGS IV or HTC One? Probaby the weightiest criteria in my view are speed, screen quality, and, last but not least, the possibility of flashing CM. (Note the difficulties with which the CM team has been confronting in porting CM to Exynos-based cellphones.)

SG4 if it's octa core and LCD comparable to One display for USA release. If it's not, I will surely get HTC One.
Tapatalk 2
If S4 is AMOLED, then I'm out. If it's S-LCD, then I will at least wait to try both devices. But, I'm done with AMOLED. People talk about using it in the sun being poor but any outdoor performance is poor. I've enjoyed the spoils of the S-LCD screen and still hate the AMOLED from the S2 and current phone (S3).
I too am torn between the HTC One and the supposed GS4.
One one hand, I have a fetish for HTC Sense -I just find android unbearable without HTCs additions.
On the other, The E5 Octa is very tempting due to the superiority of the CPU and GPU.
I really need to wait for the official release to see the device itself. If it is primarily constructed out of plastic, then I would pick the HTC One without hesitation. If it is an aluminum device, then I might be swayed (however I would still be biased towards the HTC One).

Screens can improve though, I'd wait to see both before passing judgement. One X has the best screen of any phone I've owned, galaxy s3 is poor in comparison. Note 2's screen is actually quite nice though.

This is really killing me, too.
I think the deciding factor for me will be the design. If the S4 is another piece of **** plastic device then I'm not getting it.
And please, don't try telling me "plastic is a great design element" because it is really not. I've had the S1, and told myself the S2 won't be like that. Then I got the S2, same thing. S3 was the final device I told myself I'd get being plastic, and sure the design was nice indeed but it was still the same plastic design. No matter how many times they coat it; it's plastic.
We can't do this comparison because we still don't know much concrete about the S4. We still don't know if there are any new features that may outweigh our concerns on other aspects such as design and the number of cores.
I'm not getting anything until the S4 is out so I can see.
why even ask a question like this without the GS4 specs even out....
everyone who has voted in the poll i bet not a single one of them own the phone yet.....
According to some benchmark, there is no significant difference in processor performance. In case that HTC One has metallic body, excellent display, camera improvements and better UI*, I vote HTC.
* I'm not talking about BlinkFeed
The One because it is an unibody and S4 (probably) plastic.
Thanks guys, I think that I should probably post this poll in the Galaxy forums as well
Otherwise, how does HTC play with aftermarket ROMs (such as CM and the like)?

You are correct, because the phones aren't out yet :silly:
The poll is merely asking what people are getting, if it was posted in a Samsung forum, the results would more than likely sway the other way.

You know what's funny I just read Samsung is manufacturing the screens for the HTC One. I don't know if they manufactured the ONE X screen but to me it was one of the reasons why I bought it over the SG3.
Gs4 Will not uses 8 cores, only 4, this is mkt. Will have a sd card and more power. But have a touchwiz, plastic and poor sound. I buy a HTC one for now.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Why pay more than the HTC One for probably half the storage and a plastic phone??? The difference in performance is probably going to be negligible in day to day use (unless you play games) and touchwiz is in need of a serious overhaul.
I would of voted but's it's silly voting for a device which is not even announced.
One think for sure I am not getting plastic dosen't matter even if it comes with 100 cores.
I will always choose htc one because Samsung will probably be plastic and I don't think that gs4 will have better sound than one
I don't know why but I think that Samsung will copy htc one "zoe"
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
My primary deciding factor is design. For how I use a phone, I probably wouldn't benefit from the extra (if it ends up having the octa chip) processing power and other little features that it's supposedly going to have.
I'm currently on an iPhone 5 now and simply love the design. When I got bored in the past with the 4 I went to the Inspire and it just simply fell short in a number of categories. But I'm really excited to get back to Android since there have been some major changes/advancements in the last year and a half.
With all that said, I have a high respect and regard to a well designed phone and I think HTC really nailed it with this phone. It would take a seriously impressive phone from Samsung to sway me away from the One.
Edit: this was my first post for a loooong time on XDA. I suppose it's time to update my sig.
