Shattered screen without touching phone..... - Motorola Droid RAZR

My wife got her Droid Razr Maxx 5 weeks ago. Today the sound quit working so like a dutiful husband I looked at all the settings and found nothing wrong. Stumped I sat the phone down and went to cook lunch for our family and when I came back the phone was sitting in the exact same position but the screen was shattered.
(I cannot post links due to my lurker status, sorry will be more productive so I can earn the right, but PM me I can send a link to what it looks like)
This phone has never been dropped and my wife takes great care when using it. Verizon will not replace it wihtout having me pay which I refuse to do (had she or I dropped it I would cough up the money in no time). I have contacted Motorola as well and was told to send it in but if the techs decide to they can charge me to fix it regardless. Customer care at Verizon said since this has never happened to another phone this is not a manufacturers defect (reasoning fuzzy?). Has anyone heard or seen this before or have any suggestions of what could have caused it or how we should continue?

PM some pics. Don't you think it might have cracked due a fast temperature change, a thermal shock?..
It was in the kitchen? If manual do nor warn about it you should complain regarding this issue. You should get a replacement
Send me some pics.
Cheers

I don't think the razr has the durability they claim, i dropped might mine a foot to a 2, and it cracked across the front. It's all about the aproch.

It was on my computer desk not in the kitchen so the temperature should be constant. It could have just overheated from bugging out something but it wasn't from outside influence. PM'ing picture

Hi, I sent a PM. Didn't received the pic.
As you told, if you did not droped it, it may be related with some thermal issue, like you said about overheating.

I had this issue and they gave me a refurbished Eris on the spot. I wouldn't hold your breath for a D2, haha.
I had a total of 5 Eris phones - the last two had hardware issues (bad volume rocker, broken speaker) - I very calmly requested some sort of replacement phone as I had tried so many of the Eris with no luck - the operator I got was very helpful - I asked if the Droid 1 was a candidate, thinking that since it has been discontinued they would have some refurbs in stock - when she looked for it, she came up with a Droid 2 - they had to send the battery & back separately, but I'm pretty sure the phone itself was new (no refurb date sticker on the back) - she knew there were a lot of issues with the Eris, and again I wasn't angry or combative with he and all worked out -I am due for my New Every Two upgrade this month, but wasn't really set on which phone I wanted (x is huge, incredible seems less well built and maybe old news) - funny I never considered the Droid 2 as a candidate, but his thing is really nice - don't overlook it when considering your next phone - I may end up keeping it for a while until the next round of Android phones hits VZW -

I went round and round with verizon all night about this stupid crap with silent calls my last eris gets them all the time. So I finally called in complained tech support wanted to t/s with stuff I've already done factory reset reboot. Guy told me he could send out another eris that was double checked blah blah blah. I asked if there was anything else that could be done because I have already read up and its a common problem I've found online after the Eris received the 2.1 update. He wouldnt do anything else after pleading my case said there were no other refurbs.
So I got of the phone with him and called back and got over to a retention agent told them I was going to cancel my plans because the last person did not help etc. She was polite and acted like she was helping when in reality I think she just put me on hold hoping I would hang up at one point I was on hold for over 7 minutes without her coming back. She came back and gave me a pity story on how she wished she could send out another phone like the incredible or droid 2 but they just dont have all the parts and it would be to hard to find. She acted like should would be packing the damn box which I know is not the case. I asked if it was possible they had a first Gen Moto droid and she said they no longer carry those because they are getting ready to be discontinued as well.
So last thing I did was send a pretty long email to verizon hoping to hear back some time this morning will post the results. Its crazy they act like the silent bug and trackball scrolling are not issues when I have read about it multiple times throughout other forums and even have owned 2 phones with trackball scrolling issue. My newest phone will even some how type letters when its laid face down or face up on most surfaces.

thats weird , i called cause i was haven issues and i talked them into just renewing my contract and got a droid x and i had a yr left on my contract
So you guys, Tazz and Jack, still had to pay a discounted price for this replacement right? Not just given to you out of the goodness of Verizon's heart?
I think it depends on who you get on the phone with. I am on phone number 5 now. The previous phone came bad out of the box and the previous 3 all had the mute call problem. When I called to get this one I asked very politely if there was any way I could get a different phone since the Eris, while a great phone when it works, has been plagued with too many hardware issues. The tech I was speaking to got very rude with me and told me flat out that the only (he pretty much yelled when he said that word) options I had were to either accept a refurb Eris or pay for a brand new phone at retail price.
I figured I got someone who has dealt with a lot of folks trying to get a new phone by complaining about device defects so I just let it slide. My supervisor, on the other hand, called in when his started randomly rebooting and they sent him out a Droid Incredible. First phone replacement and he gets an upgrade.
The sad part is that this phone is now starting to have the trackball issue. Fun stuff, huh?

I didn't have to pay a thing - they swapped out the phones and I still preserved my New Every Two upgrade for later - I do pay the $1.99 extra per month for the extended warranty - don't know if that's why i didn't have to pay anything - it seems like you get a little further with a lower key approach instead of the loud, you owe me approach - I do believe that the operator you get does help determine how they'll handle the problem - I've always had pretty good luck with them -
Hmm I paid that 2.99 a month warranty with my last phone, vastly inferior LG Dare lol, and had to deal with a separate company named Asurion(sp?). After paying that stupid charge for over a year, they were still very reluctant to send me any kind of upgraded phone. So I didn't purchase it with this phone.
Anyway enjoy the greener pastures, Droid 2 looks pretty sweet.
Yeah I tried calling Verizon and getting a replacement for my Eris (I have silent bug and broken trackball). But all they would offer me was another Eris. When I got tech support and I told him a couple of my friends which had Eris' with problems got incredibles and D2's as replacements for free, explained that that's a lie and they probably used they're new every two because Verizon doesn't just do that. Then when I talked to a customer service operator and told her the same story she explained that, that may have happened if the tech support was out of Eris'.
So I'm thinking its just who you get from tech support, luck of the draw that they're out of Eris', and it may help if you've received a couple replacement Eris' and continued yo have issues.

I think for the most part verizon is full of crap when it comes to replacing phones. I pay 200 dollars a month and they wont even send out a moto droid first gen. I was talking to a retention agent and they were like well I would like to send out an incredible or droid 2 but we just dont have all the parts some dont have backs or batterys others dont have chargers. Weird thing was I had said nothing about wanting a newer phone at all. All I had said I would like to continue on with the android exp. I will take anyphone but the eris of course I was hoping they didnt offer the ally. I was pretty polite on the phone just getting the same story everyone I have talked to is doing pretty well when it comes to sticking to their guns currently.
Hey boys,
just got off the phone with verizon and they gave me a new droid 2 for free, but I just went through four erises in the last 3 days and the last one has a battery drain issue so they are overnighting it to me.
I just wanna thank kaos for his awesome froyo rom, since that is what got me started on rooting my phone in the first place.

Poll: If you worked for Sprint, Best Buy, or RadioShack...

How many times would you allow a single customer to return an Evo3d before you finally said:
"Get the F**k out of my store, and don't let the door hit you in the ass?"
Because after listening to all these people complain, and talk about being on their 6th or 7th phone, I just gotta ask:
Hom much of this crap should a retailer have to put up with?
Just Curious.

+10. I would HATE to deal with EVO3D customers, because, for every one I was assigned to help, there would be a much higher probability that I would be losing my job that day.

I'd be okay with one phone return, maybe two (if both were legitimate reasons), but if you come in a 3rd time for the same phone then I'd probably hand you to another employee. If it's giving you that many problems, then you probably shouldn't be using an Android phone to begin with.
I worked at Best Buy and I never cared tbqh. My manager also never cared. Said it was the manufacturer's fault for having issues in the first place and it's better to just do the exchange so the customer will be happy.
I remember one guy got his EVO 4G replaced 6 times. I did the exchange for him each time, I didn't care as long as they were in their 30 days.
I think I would have to ask the person "Dude, you are on your >3rd phone. If you have so many problems, why do you keep buying it?"
I mean honestly, if you are so unlucky as to get 6-7 "defective" phones in a row, perhaps it is a sign from God you are not meant to have this phone. Get your money back and move the hell on. But before you move on, come on to XDA to ***** about it...then move on.
Honestly, I would never have more than 2 bad phones. First one...yeah, I can see it and I would exchange it. Second phone is bad...screw it, I would get my money back and wait for something else I like.
I've only returned my phone once. Only because it came shipped with a crack in the screen. Not cool. Stupid former employer. >_> (that would be UPS)

So, you are all complaining about having something to do at work.....
It's called job security my friends.
The phone does appear to have some quality control issues such as dead pixels, screen crooked enough that it interferes with the blackout, and maybe a loose button here and there, BUT...
Unfortunately I've seen people returning the phone for what I believe are software issues that will be fixed with (hopefully the next) OTA. Things like the camera freezing, green tint in some camera shots, wifi signal dropping, and the phone going crazy when you plug something into the headphone jack are all software related and exchanging the phone will just land you another one with the same problems. In fact, some problems are intermittent so you may think the new one is fine and then somehow "broke" later. Even a weak radio signal and yellow screen could be software.
You can't expect the average consumer to know whether or not a problem is hardware or software though. To them, they were sold a product that simply doesn't work properly. So they take it back. They want it, but they want it to work, so they exchange it. That's not really a consumer issue: it's an issue for HTC. I'm not making light of software issues either, because those are interpreted as defects just like hardware problems. This is really an issue with HTC. IMHO, they released a product that was clearly not quite ready for prime time.
Mike
im a former radioshack employee and i gotta admit... these pplz come with the weirdest problems ever and the craziest stories to get them phones exchanged, mysefl im on my 3rd evo3d, my first one lost 4g completely, second one lost screen sensitivity and it was pressing letters by itself so im in my third one so far is good, so if they are within the 30 days i will exchange it as long as they have a real problem with it, one day i had a guy coming with the phone wanting an exchanged the phone was all scratched up and when we told him we cant cause of the scratches he said it wasnt his fault, that it was raining and the water scratched his phone lmaoooo ... see what i say lolz
I want whatever I spend my hard earned money on to work as expected to. Why should people settle for mediocre build design or software ? I don't care if I have to exchange an item 10 times, if I am paying for it and I'm within a return grace period, you bet I'm going to make sure I'm satisfied with my item.

What do I tell AT&T for return?

My usb started going berserk and thinking it's in dock mode and randomly thinking it's charging when it isn't and disconnecting on the charger. The phone is rooted, custom rom and entropy kernel. I know they ask for all of that in warranty under about phone. What would KK6 be since I'll be returning to stock but not quite yet. Also is there a way I can talk my way into a new phone and not a refurb since I don't see how a clear defect warrants me getting stuck with a refurb phone. I've read on here there is a way but I can't think of where.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
I have never heard of a way to get a new phone vs refurb. I have gotten many replacements for smart phones through warranty, and while they were refurbished they all looked brand new. The warranty still lasts a year from the purchase date or 90 days what ever is longer.
I think you will have better luck getting a new one if you go in person vs phone call.
I have heard if you get 3 warranty replacements within 90 days of each other you can ask for a different phone, like a Note or vivid, etc.
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
That sort of sucks... I've gotten replacements for "dumb" phones but they always come with a sticker inside covering imei and it's frustrating since I pay for a new phone. I've heard of the 3 phones and then qualifying for a new one and am considering a Note just for the size/stylus. My first smart phone (HTC Tilt) had it and I like it.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Just flash it back to stock and take it into an att warranty service center. They can swap it for a new one there. If you do it over the phone you're more likely to end up with a refurb. If they give you any guff at the store just act real offended and uppity, you shouldn't have any problem though.

May not be what you're looking for, but I had the same problem on my phone....USB thinking it was connected and wasn't, screen waking on its own, and other symptoms. Did a Google search, found I wasn't alone and came away with this fix.....
I dipped a small paintbrush in rubbing alcohol and swished it around in the USB port (powered down and battery out of course). Then I used canned air on it to make sure it was good and dry, powered back up and didn't have the problem again.
Now, I already had a replacement on the way, and went ahead and swapped out, so I don't still have the phone, but it worked fine for several days after I "cleaned" it out....even though I couldn't see any obvious debris.....and I rarely ever use the USB.
PS. A local AT&T rep gave me a number to call for a warranty replacement....unfortunately I can't find it right now...but surely a local store could give it to you.

I tried the alcohol thing and it seems to have helped. I'll see how it goes for a few days before calling in.
Can anyone with a stock UCKK6 rom give me the build number, kernel number etc from About Phone? Just in case.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
My SGII was doing the same thing and I used air to clean out the USB port but it didn't help. I did not try any cleaning solution. My phone was actually fixed by a factory reset. Turns out mine was something in the OS or some app combination was going bananas. No issues since and this was back before Christmas. My phone was stock 2.3.4 when all this went down.
But the advise to try and clean the port is good because there are a large number of folks that have corrected theirs that way. But if that doesn't resolve it then try the factory reset (after backups of course). Worked for me for what it's worth.
I had the same problem a few days ago. Running stock 2.3.4. A factory data reset fixed it. No port cleaning at all. So it seems, as others have reported, this could also be a software glitch.

Policy sucks
So I have taken advantage of the 3 swaps and a new model a few years back, actually got away with it twice, though it's described as a "One Time Exception" I had a buggy Samsung Epix WinMo phone, and decided to go HTC and they provided a Fuze (refurb, not new) - Well all the refurbs were a bit beat around, not at all up to the usual standards, and after a couple replacements of THAT, they asked me if I had tried a new handset. AND I LIED! I'm not proud of that, but I pay AT&T over $250 a month, and I DID pay for a top line phone. So they switched me up for a Tilt 2, which in 2009 was pretty slick.
Fast forward to 2012 - I had a few exchanges of my HTC Inspire 4G - A nice phone, but starting to feel a bit less leading edge. I WANTED a SG2 Skyrocket, but guess what? There is no more policy to switch handsets, they must have had too many people playing them for new phone models. I had to have an escalation done, and wait 72 hours for a response. The good new was, they approved me for a switch. The not so good was that they produced a list of what I could choose from. The Note was not on it, and it won't be on any list for a SG2 owner. I was making part of my claim that the 4G on Inspire sucked, had sucked from the beginning, and wanted an LTE swap out. Unfortunately, you don't get to speak with a rep to make your case (which I believe I could have) So they only offered other HSPA+ Models, some a real joke. Pantech Crossover anyone? Are you freaking KIDDING???
Typically, they offer what they consider "comparable" and crap-o-la, they did not consider the Skyrocket comparable. The best options they offered ME, were SGS2, and Infuse, as well as the ok, but gimmicky LG Thrill - Too much of a crap shoot, that one. So I did the obvious and got the SGS2 - I WANTED a 4.5" screen, but was NOT stepping back to the single core, Galaxy 1 based Infuse, as good of a phone as it was... LAST YEAR, LOL!
So the SGS2 they sent is sweet, but I will be making them send as many as it takes to get a perfect 1 (obvious scuffing on the bottom back where it contacts surfaces when put down on it's back.) They are going to wish that gave me a Skyrocket, LOL! Because I can claim defect until I get a perfect one. If they stop me for "slight wear and tear" I will switch up and claim something else is wrong. Dead pixel, capacitive button failure, I can come up with stuff all the live long day, mother ****ers! As I say, they probably should have sent me a Galaxy, heck A NOTE, even!
Just remember, all the Support Rep, and then Warranty Rep after that can do is exchange same for same, and refurb only. With the heavy use of plastics, the Samsung does not translate to a good refurb, the way the Aluminum Inspire did. Sigh. So it's a lot of work, but it's up to you. I may ask if I can pay the difference to step up to the Note, hehe.

Warranty doesn't cover crack by speaker?

So I called hp on Saturday, and told him about the crack by my speaker which is due to faulty designs I guess. And he told me hp changed the warranty and they no longer cover this? Is this true? He told me it would cost around $300 to fix! Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

He is a jerk, and a liar. Call again and talk to someone else!
Thank you, I figured he was lying. I asked to speak to a supervisor and told me one was not there. I'm gonna give it another go.

I have had two repaired in the last six weeks for exactly that problem under the HP warranty. If they give you any more s××t .PM me and I will give the repair # ,copy of confirmation emails and the repair statement that I received on there return.
i would suggest not sending it in unless it is very bad. i've read that there is a good chance you wont get the same device back. for example, they'll accept your touchpad, pull one from the refurb pile, and send that to you instead. the other devices may or may not be worse (with other problems) than the one you sent in to fix.

The two that I sent back were picked up and returned in 1 week repaired with new back covers and were definitely not refurb's . Although one that may have had a beer spilt over it and was not repairable was replaced with a refurb that I have never had a problem with .
So don't believe everything you read .
maybe it depends on where you are located. i'm in america and have read lots of horror stories, maybe things are different/better in the uk
here are some fine examples of previous experiences i've read about:

http://forums.webosnation.com/hp-touchpad/313370-im-out.html

i'd really only consider sending it in if it was something that i could not tolerate.
Thanks to both you guys, and it's not really that bad, but my warranty is about to run out. That's why I was thinking of sending it in. I'll call them tomorrow morning and see what happens. I'll let you guys know, and once again, thanks a million!

As I said I haven't had any problems with mine, and what I would say I in my personal experience is once they start it doesn't get better, ie with mine I had a very small crack by one speaker and three months later it turned into 3 both speaker's and by the USB jack. My daughters only had one but that was sent back straight away.
Anyway good luck and if you need proof that they do cover it don't hesitate to pm me .
Don't forget to wipe!

A couple weeks ago we sent two in for case replacement for speaker cracks, received them back in about a week, same units.

This is not what I've observed for crack repairs on the two we sent in.

We sent ours in because we are at the end of our warranty too. Just don't ever mention Android OS:
Make a backup
Copy it off to your PC along with anything else of value
ACMEuninstall
webOS security wipe, to remove all traces of warranty revoking un-authorized software.
Like that was the cause of your cracks. If you let your warranty run out, your out of luck. Then it doesn't matter, save the $300 and get a tablet with native JB!
Called hp and again a no go. They guy said they stopped covering the crack about two months ago. Am I out of luck here? And check your pm sstar

I got arranged an RMA on mine on mid July, finally picked up the start of August and then got it back around the 19th August. IT came back messed up, they replaced the back (yay), however it can't pick up a wifi signal unless you're within 1m of the router (I tested with 3 routers and WebOS and Android), you can't even use WebOS without a wifi connection, anyway I presume some idiot at HP/Palm forgot to connect the wifi antenna, not sure what else they did, but it crashed in WebOS settings and it sometimes failed to start up showing a battery with a question mark.
It was finally collected yesterday so coming up on two months since this mess started, and not sure how long it will take to be fixed, they said 10 days but it took two weeks last time, but I know that HP have now outsourced it in the UK at least and they don't have spare parts and can't order them, just get random shipments and you have to hope the part comes or you have to keep waiting.
So different to my case replacement last October which took about 10 days in total. No wonder HP had to pull out the market, I also emailed the CEO's of HP UK and then after no reply CEO of HP USA after I got an unusable touchpad sent back after a month, neither even bothered to reply, not even a scripted thanks for your email. Really bad service in my opinion.
I have speaker cracks and my warranty is up next week. I'm just gonna use a drop a super glue and call it a day.

I would contact Palm using the live chat. They helped me out when I got my first Touchpad which the screen wasn't sitting correctly in the housing. Also the home button LED did not properly light the button. I guess that is what happens when you get a Touchpad from the last batch.

Got it back after 6 days, all they'd done was ran WebOS Doctor on it and sent it back, not fixed anything so still broken and I have to send it off AGAIN. Idiots.
Got it back again today, still not fixed, all they did was another software update, they're claiming wifi works.
It get's lowest signal within metres of the router (I tried 3 routers), when before I sent it off to get the cracks fixed it would get full signal on different floors of the house. For comparrison my laptop next to my touchpad has my network on full signal, and 4 others on medium signal, the touchpad is just mine on low (3m from the router).
They told me to send it back again (4th time) and keep hoping someone will fix it, will be writing a letter to HP UK HQ over the weekend and failing that I think it will have to be legal action.

I'm confused, what are you looking to do?
Verizon has extended their official warranty time. It took 4 hours but I finally was told this by the frazzled tech I refused to let off the phone until there was a solution. Eventually I was given to a supervisor who immediately had a new( sorta) V10 on its way for free. I'm using it right now. Call them tell them you bootlooped and you'll have a new v10 for free. It will be running 6.0 but what can you do?

Well as of right now you can check out my thread in the general section. I'm running into a few issues with replacing init. The phone reboots when you do and as of right now I have no clue how to change it. Anyways, I asked a guy to try something for me and i'm waiting to hear back.

I've been keeping an eye out on all your threads since this new V10 with 6.0 on it arrived.
Thanks for all the time and effort you have and are putting into the rooting of this phone on 6.0.
It's guys like yourself that provide hope and help to guys like myself that as of today do not have the knowledge to do so.
I've yet to find a pledge site for root on 6.0 if I'm missing something let me know. I'm always good for some money thrown to whomever obtains root. Pledged and paid Tungkick for his root of 5.1.1.
Thanks again your work is appreciated
Ok an update with my Verizon LG v10, I was told to bad about the phone not working anymore but you still have to pay for it, but*they can allow*$10 a month off my bill until payed in full. Didn't think I would ever leave Verizon but they just changed my mind.
Whoa hold on man don't let some douche bag tech at Verizon tell you that.
I got the same story the first 2 calls to them I made regarding my V10 bootloop. Both calls ended by me telling the tech that I didn't need his help and I'd be calling back to speak to another tech who might give a sh!t.
I did call back and on my 3rd call stayed on the phone so long that it was closing time for the call center and at that time was given to a higher up, Idk but management of some type or authority who told me directly that within that week Verizon had implemented replacing Verizon V10's with the bootloop issue by a warranty extension of 3 months and soon it would be up to a full extra year warranty like LG itself has done. I was told that the techs mostly don't even know this yet but they would soon. Then I was sent out a brand new v10 which I'm using right now.
Don't let them bully you, I know it's not easy to stay cool and remain or even gain a friendly conversation with those guys but I swear that I'm not blowing smoke and they will give you a new phone for free. It was a Friday so it took more than overnight for me but 2 days later I was good.
There's also going through LG who will give you a free shipping label to send in your phone to be fixed or replaced. You can apply online at LG's main website. It will take longer than Verizon and you not only bought it through them but pay them good money every month so I would and did make damn sure they took care of it.
Hopefully this helped if you need any other info pm me maybe my replacement documents have something in them that you could use as irrefutable proof that they have to give you a phone.
Sorry for the long winded b.s. but I get heated when a company so large that bilks us customers constantly tries to do it even when their wrong and only because their lazy dicks that don't care about helping you out by actually doing anything other than straight saying "no" automatically.

No problem, let me know if they give you more trouble and I can black out any sensitive info on my Verizon receipt/statement of them doing exactly what they have told you they won't do. It outlines the policy specifically and has enough information directly related to the problem You could forward it a long and turn the tide of their treatment towards you in a hurry.

My v10 died suddenly yesterday, and i logged into VZW and chatted with them and told them it had the boot-loop of death issue and they knew about it and ordered a replacement with free overnight shipping. They did say the phone couldn't have water or physical damage otherwise I would get charged for the replacement. It just sucks that root isnt available for the new software that will be running on it, not yet anyway.

At least they took care of it appropriately. Yes not having root on the same phone that you owned previously and had root on is trying.
That and the nagging thoughts in the back of my mind about when this one will bootloop on me. They sent me a phone that truly was in amazing condition, I cannot see anything that doesn't look brand new anywhere and I've had the loop out inspecting it. That means nothing if LG decides its time to remind me that Life's Good over and over again...
Good news is it does sound like root and boot loader unlock is on its way. Whether it bricks my sh!t or not I don't care. It's a light at the end of an otherwise very dark tunnel.

The maps app was acting up. Had me about a mile from where I actually was and wouldn't track me on the road. Also the phone would get hot and lose 4g signal all the time. I did a chat and said that I had heard about the warranty being extended due to hardware issues demonstrated by the class action lawsuit filed in California. My replacement V10 will be delivered tomorrow. I could have chosen a different phone but I like the V10.
Thanks for tip about the extended warranty.

Was really hoping for the V10 to be updated to nougat
I have the original v10 vs990 from November 2015. Originally wanted the nexus 6 but it was way too big for my daily lifestyle and work. So I got talked into what I'm currently on vs990. Got marshmallow 6.0 update on February 2016. I'm on TQTHL extra battery pack with case. Never had any problems but I do a factory reset every couple of months because of weird battery issues. I will never buy an LG phone again. The worst call quality, battery i currently get is okeh since I have the extra TQTHL. I hate the second screen. I miss notifications all the time if I have it on silent and second screen doesn't help unless you are staring directly at your phone. I wish they had a blinking notification for second screen. Bluetooth connection horribly skips. Also the lack of this phone in XDA community, no ROOT! I do like the 64 gig on board storage and sometimes camera is decent. Just waiting for contract to end so I can move on.
I am praying mine does so I can get a different phone. I have insurance on it to cover it after the warranty. The phone is ok but battery life sucks. I have to charge my phone 2 to 3 times a day just from texting and I don't text that much. Maybe a hundred texts a day, no phone calls, no data use. If my friend video chats me forget it, dead from 100% charge in 30 min.
By 2pm I am at 40% battery. by 5:30 im at 15%.
So those of you that received another V10, was it a certified like new or a brand new mint V10? Also was there any mention anywhere if they were out of stock of the V10s could you get a different one?

Its to bad you didn't hold Verizon responsible.. They are who sold you the phone and in no uncertain terms had their dirty little fingers all up in the phone originally made by LG so IMO are the first who need be and are responsible for any problems.
Apparently they feel this also replacing V10's across the board now.
Sorry LG was a pain and thanks for the post and updates.
That's why LG will be out of the phone business or change how they manage it.
