[Q] pre order no longer pending - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey guys quick question. Has anyone else had an issue with your pre order no longer being in your bank statement. I talked to a sprint rep yesterday and she said the order was placed and it should show up. Just worried something might of went wrong

If you talked to someone already I'm not sure. But my charge didn't go through at first because when I looked up my order status they had a notice to call sprint to verify the order (different shipping address than what is on the account). As soon as i called and verified with them the charge showed up.

Vibrant on backorder

I called to get a replacement ont the 13th. They said it would take a week to get it. I called on the 18th they said it was being proccesed. I called today the 21st they said they are on backorder and have no idea when they will be available. It bothers me that they never tried to inform me of this through email or a stupid texst. Is anyones eles's vibrant on backorder? This realy sucks not getting a eta.
Called last night, same ordeal. Ordered mine a little over a week ago.

good news and bad news...
bad news is, the T-Mobile just got slump by overwhelming phone sending back for 2 majority reasons:
#1 phone hardware/software issue for another refurb phone
#2 people took advantage of the phone upgrades for New phones out in T-Mobile like G2 on 3rd failure crisis
so that is why, many phone are on back order!! bummer...
I was told by some local cellular shops, there is one major pain in the butt issue.
all the phone they are getting from back order 80% have Hardware Lock issue.
Guess T-Mobile is enforcing the HWLock to prevent data wipe and stock Custom Rom.
I got mine an hour ago ordered last week

Was the phone they just sent you hardware locked. I ordered a replacement phone last Friday, bc my usb port had a short. Then Tuesday they informed me it was backordered.

There is another thread on this in the general section... This is what I posted there.
I call and talked to tech services [not customer service] and they said they will send me out a replacement, Sad thing is they are on backorder. I called on the 13th they said one week. I called again on the 21st That's when I found out its on backorder. I am going to call ever day till my phone gets here.
I called today 10-22 It started out with cs I told them I was very unhappy paying 500 bucks for a phone that I can't use nor be told when I would get one. I told them I was ready to switch carriers. They transferred me to a account specialist. I told her the same story she said they would pay for shipping and give me one month free data. I asked her why can I order one on line and get it but cant get a replacement for my new one? She put me on hold and came back and said she turned it over to another dept and I would get a update text from them on a new phone. I told her that every day I don't get my phone drives me closer to dropping them. I was nice to them but firm about my displeasure. Will update this thread when I get more info. Sorry about this RANT
Nope I have full access and it was already running the JI6
The guy on the couch
I was glad not to have to worry about bricking with the update that would have been the limit for me I woulda flipped out but all is well now also the gps on your new one will be super accurate...it is on mine
The guy on the couch
My replacement is on backorder as well. I had a MyTouch before my vibrant and needed a replacement. I checked my order status several times a day (like I do now) hoping it would tell me it was shipped. The status was always backorderd and so I called them to see what the hold up was and they just told be it was on backorder and didn't know why. No less that 30 minutes later my phone arrived in the mail. I hope this is the same scenario and that my replacement arrives sooner than later.
The moral of the story, T-Mobile reps don't know **** about what or when the replacements ship.
called again Same crap different day Talked to several ppl loyalty serv. customer serv. and a account specialist. They tried to tell me they have no phones at all. I said I could order one on line, they said they were backorderd too. I went to their site and got all the way to the final check out. It seems like it would have gone threw. So I quit. 2 weeks later and they still can't tell me when I would get one? Maybe i will get a new one instead of a refurb one. I think when think when they see my number they go oh **** he is calling again. What a nice $500. paper weight

Yeah, I got one to about an hour ago. Btw, on T-mo's website it still says that my order hasn't shipped yet and that it's still on backorder. Their order status portal is far from accurately up to date.

I would call tmo if I were you. at ups.com I got this Your package is in the UPS system and has a rescheduled delivery date of 10/29/2010. and in transit I sure hope it's not hardware locked

I'm not bothering with a T-Mo rep. The tracking # they sent in a text shows the package shipped yesterday with a delivery date of the 28th. And it probably will be hardware locked... Damn...

[Q] can Tmo find out if your rooted/flashed?

just last night i flashed the CM7 beta for the vibrant. this morning i get a message from Tmo stating that my address had been changed. i did not do this. logging into the Tmo website, all of my info is unavailable. my bill is always paid on time.
so my question is could they know?
or is this some thing else entirely

If they stated that "your address had been changed" That usually means your home address. They would then freeze the account to protect your identity. This is normal procedure with phone companies and any other company where you can charge things to an account.
SO you know, it is not unlawful or against ant policy to customize a phone, you bought it it is yours so you do not have to worry. That Supreme court case was settled couple of years ago. What people worry about is when they mess up the phone and then, want to return it under warranty. THAT, is when they can cry foul..... and they are correct in doing so.

Weird order problem I've never ran into before...

Just had a order problem I've never had before. Pre ordered on the 5th, everything has been fine. Got the order confirmation email, then the email on the 10th that everything was fine, and I'd get it by the 17th. Well tonight I called in just to ask about order status, n see if they would tell me when they would charge my card. They told me there was an issue, and I should have gotten an email to call them. They put me on the phone with the identity verification department. They asked me some multiple choice credit questions. Said I was good, and approved my order. My card has now been charged, and order status went from received to processed. pre order. I'm glad I called!
well that's a trip

I have the same problem as you are. I just called 611 where they transferred me to the national order department. I spoke with them and told them the entire issue about having the amount taken out of my bank account and put back in. The first rep told me that the order had NOT BEEN PLACED and now this rep is telling me it is. She told me to worry but gave no specifics on what happened with the amount returned into my bank account.
Same thing, I'm about to start screaming at someone

I just talked to an intl rep that couldn't see my order, either. Called back and got another one that did see it. I think because it's after hours we're probably getting the rent-a-human reps with like 1.5 hours AT&T training that answering questions for AT&T customers one minute and 1-800-LAP-BAND the next minute.
First orders of business, never call at&t after 8PM or on weekends, otherwise you get to enjoy outsourcing.
Okkkk they authorized the amount for a certain amount of days to make sure it will go through then they reverse it until.the day its shipped, being this is a pre ordered phone its different than.most orders

Well I just received an email from Best Buy regarding my preorder having a "billing issue". It's too late to call them tonight, but I'll be contacting them first thing in the morning when their hours are available.
After some quick searching online, it seems that BB (and other stores/companies as well) puts an initial hold on payment method for the price of the order, then if the shipment doesn't go out for awhile they'll re-authorize one (or more unfortunately) authorization holds of the same amount. So if the payment method used to place the order is running low on funds (in my case, I ordered using my BB card without enough open credit left to enable a second $450+ authorization), then you may run into the same issue I'm now dealing with. I'm just hoping I can bring this to their attention before my order is cancelled for reasons beyond my control. I placed an order with sufficient open credit to cover the cost of the order. Ugh...not happy with BB right now.

[SOLVED]Activation Issues?

Is it just me or is anyone else having activation issues?
First, I tried activating it with the DEC numbers on the side of the box. Showed up the right Evo4GLTE but it told me I had to contact customer support.
Contacted chat support. They did the ESN swap for me easily but the phone never activated. After waiting and waiting it didn't activate so I decided to call Sprint and get transferred to Tech because I already went through the initial troubleshooting steps with Chat Online.
Tech support tells me to read the HEX or DEC number from the back of the phone. This ends up being DIFFERENT then whats on the label on the outside of the box. Stupid me. Or was it? She goes on to tell me that MY phone is under some other persons name "Karen". She asks me if I got this phone from someone basically implying that I stole it. I explain to her how we've all been waiting for a long time for this phone and this phone is BRAND NEW not even out in stores yet.
So whats the deal? I'm currently on hold with them but to be honest I think HTC or someone ****ed up in the labeling process and now everyone is trying to activate EVERYONE ELSE'S phone. WTF?!
More on this as the story unfolds.....
Update #1: Supervisor in the activation department says that someone screwed up and put the phone in the wrong box and since it's "keyed" into my account... simply switching the esn to my account wouldn't work. He goes on to say that they would have to get me a NEW DEVICE.
No way in hell am I going to let this happen.
Update #2: Had to get transferred to escalations. Janice from escalations told me she had fixed the issue and I should be able to activate it now through the website. Activated it on the website and now I have a functional EVO4GLTE!!
TLDR: Make sure you activate it with the the numbers found on the inside of the phone. Do not use the numbers from the label because they might be different!
when i talked to the guys at my best buy they told me that sprint was having problems activating the lte's today... But i havent picked mine up yet so i dont know..
I had to call them to activate mine as well. Everything worked fine after 10 minutes of the agent doing something while I waited. Sorry to hear about your issue regarding an already activated account though, that sounds quite annoying.

Did the phone start an activation process when you booted it AFTER you entered the DEC number on the web.
If it did not try doing an Update Profile.
I have not tried mine yet. But I just swapped phones around last night and sometimes you need to kick it.
Oh try pulling the battery, just kidding
I wonder if Karen works in Customs.

Yes. I probably should make that more clear on my original post. Activation screen popped up but it never activated because I entered in the RIGHT number that was on the label but the phone had a different set of serial numbers.

Apple strikes again?
Tried the activation menu when it popped up on the phone. I got all the way to the end when it asks to pick which number on the account to activate it to and then failed.
Called in and they were having a little trouble saying something about the phone being applied to a different number on my account. She started to say something about checking that number and then said "oh its the same number".
I'm wondering if it has something to do with LTE or if the device is registered in their system a little different. She couldn't even tell what device it was untill I told her. Then she started asking questions about it. She said there were only a few demos floating around and most reps had never seen one.
Everything's working great so far.

I had the same thing and was able to activate via chat.
I tried to activate online, and it also told me I needed a new plan (coming from the OG EVO.) I had the Everything 450 plan. It gave me a few selections, including the same plan, so I chose it. Then it said I need to call Sprint.
I spent the next 45 minutes on the phone, while the CSR tried to figure out why it was telling her I needed a new plan, and it wouldn't let her transfer the service. Finally, after she said they had 3 people working on it, they figured out that Google Voice was the problem.
She said they'd have to "expire" my Google Voice account, and they weren't sure if I could keep the same GV number when I installed it on the new phone. I told them to go ahead, and it worked. I just installed GV, and it seems to be working fine, with my original number.
She said they'd look into why Google Voice was causing a problem.
Not just you
I also had my evo LTE switched with another persons, it just so happened that that other person was my sister who was sitting next to me getting her phone activated. When she was on the phone with the call center to activate it I noticed all of a sudden "my phone" was activated with her number.

I had the same thing happen to me. I guess when they were verifying the patent they didn't make sure they put the devices back in the correct box. Spent 4 hours with sprint, and 5 different people before they figured out what was going on.
They never told me that they couldn't swap the devices, it was pretty easy once they figured out what had happened. Now it is fully functional
if you were paying attention, and they made you enter a code to edit your MSN, the code they gave you was your MSL. i had a lady tell me three times she couldn't give me my MSL, then followed it with 'now, enter your MSL, it's blah blah blah.' when i asked if the number she just gave me was in fact my MSL, she said 'hold on, you need to speak with my supervisor', then hung up.
that number will make everything easier. i've never had an issue getting it on my other phones, but apparently something has changed . she was adamant about not giving it to me, until she had to.
I thought you had to wait x amount of days before they can just give it to you

AT&T upgrade question

Need some info from an AT&T employee or someone familiar with their process. I upgraded one of my lines to get the HTC One. I placed my order for black through AT&T premier by calling 611 (on 4/19) and when it went back ordered I canceled and ordered the S4(4/29). I was about to go out of town so I called to cancel that order too (both were processing, they said it could not be canceled but eventually found a way). They shipped the S4 anyways(4/30) so I called to tell them to uncancel my request and I will live with the phone, they said that was no problem. I ended up hating the phone and returning it for a HTC One Silver. After all of this I have been billed for the $211 for the S4 and I still show my line is available for upgrade. So my question is, will they correct the eventually in their system or will I eventually be billed for the full price of the phone. Or did they really screw up and now I have a line open. This is what happens when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Just a mess...
To be honest, sounds like a ton of different stuff going on here, and the only way to know for sure that everything is going to work out would be to call customer service and verify it with them before its all too late.
