Just buy a s3... need infos for roms... - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi
i just buy an international s3 in China. the phone has been modified by the operator and google apps are not present. i want to install directly a custom rom. i know cm-based roms on my other Android device but not aokp or others roms like omega for the s3.
which is the most stable for the moment ?
are there samsung apps inside this custom rom ? or can i find their apk like for s voice ?

just use default for a while...till now no custom roms are without bugs or glitches the best is to stay with stock till really good roms appear
yea omega is the best choice if u really want to change your rom

Checkrom. Install the kitchen pro app and download the rom and more from within it.

CheckRom for the Galaxy S3 where is it i used CheckRom for my SGSII from the very first day it was released best ROM ever, unless im going blind i cant see any thread in the Development section for this.

Not released on xda yet. But go to or Google checkrom.com. It's better than anything I've tried and good mods are already available in the kitchenpro app.

i can not connect my google account and i don t have google apps and s voice. it is china unicom stock rom
yeah i really want to change now. i can try different rom after if there is too many bugs and glitches
ok so i will see for omega et checkrom roms

Are you sure it's a genuine S3 and not a copy?
If it's a copy then don't flash roms or kernels because they won't work.
If it is genuine and it's only missing gapps and s voice because of network limitations then you will be okay to flash.

i am sure its an original/genuine s3 gt-i9300. got it in an official china unicom shop. the right box the warranty the screen the battery, android... every thing perfect, just the software :/
for cf-root does it need the s3 driver ? so should i install the last version of kies or use the toolbox v2 ?

Well then once you flash a rom from here you will have everything.
To use cf- root you must use odin.
All the required tools are in the thread.

cf-root not working.
i do the steps.
i connect the s3 in download mode to windows xp. odin ready.
windows pop up comes, say try install a driver named "gadget serial" but failed.
i come back on odin, press start, only say "all threads completed. succeed 0/ failed 0"... :/
so i think of a problem with the driver... ?

i found the samsung driver on phonandroid, install them and everything is fine. i am now rooted, have a backup, and can now try a first rom...

I was about to post a link to the drivers, i had this recently.
Try Omega v6.0 ROM, very stable, very fast.

you don't have to do anything to get Aroma working, it is packed in to Omega.
Just flash the Omega.zip ROM using CWM and then the Aroma Installer starts automatically, it just gives you a nice looking installation.
I'm at work now but i've just taken some pictures to show you how nice and easy the Omega rom is to install
Start to flash the ROM using CWM like this....

if u don't insist on stock based rom, try paranoid android rom, it is has very unique features. you can find more info under the related thread.
