[Q] HTC One X+ Processor? - HTC One X+

Does the One X+ use the same processor as the One X, only clocked at a higher speed? Or does the One X+ use a different kind of processor?

One X+ uses newer cpu, but it's the same, cooked at beter process. 32nm, I thought, where the One X uses 48nm.
Our best chance is to get S-OFF , and let us overclock our tegra 3 to 1.6Ghz.. It's a matter of time.

We can already overclock to 1.6 without s-off.

Lol ? Tegra3 is 40nm on every device here on the market, the one in the one x+ is just a premium version of the one in the normal one x that can handle(Onex+)better oc and UV, and that's why the stock clock of the one x+ is 1.7ghz single and 1.6 quad instead of the normal(present on the one x)1.5ghz and 1.4ghz .
So please don't give false information.

What do you think,is it worth upgrade from one x to one x+?Is it that much faster,i suppose thet its not..

No, it's not worth it. At all.

wrong its a 40nm same as the one in current hox there are 4 varients between 0 and 3 and the onex+ is just the top of the range for example variant 3 which a load of people have on there current hox so another 500 pound is not justifiable for an extra 32 gb storage

HTC One X
I found here an good comparison between the One X and One X+

sorry to bump, but thought you all might know the answer.
i've been hearing that the one x+ has the Tega 3 t33, but now i'm seeing things naming it the Tegra 3 AP37? What's the difference?
I've heard the T33 is a 'noticeable' improvement over the T30 that's in most all Tegra 3 devices, but what is this AP37? Never heard of it till recent One X+ articles.
And which one does the X+ actually have?

Can we expect sense 3.5 on the amaze officially.

Anyone know when Sense 3.5 will come out for this phone? I'm actually surprised it doesn't have it at launch.

I dout we ever see a sense version update... Its not impossible just unlikely very few devices has ever gotten updated sense. If we do see in update it will be to 2.3.5 or 4.0...
How soon as root is 100% and we have a recovery me and JoelZ will be porting it...

If you use HTCDev , you don't need root only recovery which will be worked on within a few days that way once you get recovery all you need to do is flash the ROM & start working & could you be working w/ the sensation 3.5 since it has version from Sensation XE w/ Beat's ?

Why do you say that? Why wouldnt HTC update one of their latest phones? The HTC Sensation XL has 3.5 and that phone is only using a single core processor.

Hi I was just wondering if HTC plan on releasing sense 3.5 on our amaze considering they just release the HTC sensation xl with it in the uk. It's seems like everytime I buy a phone with sense theres a new sense out right afterwards, makes no sense to me. I hope HTC doesnt pull what they did with the HTC thunderbolt by releasing the phone with sense 2.5 instead of 3.0 than telling us that it couldn't run on the thunderbolt because of low specs bull ****. Because am running sense 3.0 on my hd2 and thunderbolt smoothly. Besides am more than reassured that amaze can run it because we have dual cores 1.5 ghz cpu and 1gb of ram while sensation has single core 1.5 CPU and 768 ram. I guess it's a matter of if and when HTC is willing to release it to us. After HTC and Verizon screwed me with thunderbolt I wouldn't be surprise if they gave us some bull**** excuse to upgrade our phone to a new model especially with ice cream sandwich on the way. What do you guys think?

even if they dont release it, it'll get ported eventually. plus htc said that they were thinking about ics too (engadget). and even if they dont, theres still Cyanogenmod to look forward too, on top of our amazing devs. the phone is still pretty new, and with time it'll be an incredible piece of hardware.
btw the sensation is dual core 1.2ghz

Sensation getting Sense 4 "Lite" What's this mean for the Amaze?

Could this mean that the amaze line could get a similar version. At first I thought no way in hell htc would give a old device of Sense 4 even if it is lite, then again lite could mean dry as grandmas meatloaf. Comments Thoughts?

I'm not too concerned, sense has a long way to go to compete with go launcher!
dont think so, firstly, we have a 1.5 Ghz S3 processor vs the 1.2 Ghz S2 Processor on the sensation and we also have 1GB Ram as oposed to 768 Ram on the Sensation. I think our phones should be able to handle it
That would be awesome if we got that version, but by the time that rolls out I'm pretty sure we will have a stable sense 4.0 rom if devs pick up on it lol

firstly, the S2 is a single core processor which is inside the inspire. we have the exact same processor and gpu that is inside the sensation just slightly overclocked.

its not about being able to handle it, its about marketing and if it would effect the sales of their new one series.

i hope the sense 4,0 gets on the amaze. no reason why it wouldnt. that phone can take it
i believe it will be a reduced version of sense 4 as we do not carry the proprietary image sensor from the one series, and probably with decreased functionality in media sharing as well.
though i'd be surprised if it was vastly different from stock sense 4.0
All I know is I hope it don't worsen the battery life! I mean I seem to get better than most with 12-15 hours of decent usage, but definitely don't want to see that go down.

I dont think it will come to the amaze sense 4 at all. Just marketing. Sense 3.6 makes more sense for amaze.

[Q] HTC One X + very hot

Hi,
I installed GTA on my phone. After about 20 minutes the phone became really hot. Is this expected?
Also, it is possible to turn the lights on the hardware buttons on? It is quite difficult to see the buttons.
Thanks,
Ben
So I think x+ is no different than x.

What do you expect? Did anyone read on the news that HTC developed some magical method of heat dissipation? Because i didnt if you put a 1.7ghz quad core CPU and a pretty powerful GPU onto the same SOC. And then put it in a device with no cooling and little ventilation. It's going to get hot in times of high load. It's to be expected

It gets hot because it has a 40nm SOC, this is why I didn't upgrade. I would only upgrade to this phone if it had no camera sticking out, aluminum instead of polycarbonate, tegra 4-s4 pro and better low light performance with a boost to the output speaker as I have experienced bad quality with the HTC one x.

It seems like this has no problems, just people that expect 40nm LPG process to work wonders...
Tegra 3 is a crap SoC but HTC didn't have a choice unless they really wanted to leave everyone on the One X behind with no development. This is the next best option.
Hopefully HTC next year dumps Nvidia and their crap SoCs (Tegra 4 is going to be a disaster for heat/battery) for Snapdragon S4, TI OMAP, or ST-Ericsson Novathor.

Nope. I think HTC should've gone with the MSM8960T at 1.7 GHz max single core, 1.5 GHz max dual core. Then next year, Krait v3 at 1.7 GHz dual core, 2.0 Ghz single core mode.

Sense 6?

So lately the m8 roms are out here.
http://www.androidfiles.org/?developer=M8&folder=StockRoms
and will it be able to port these roms to hox+ ?
Nope.
Since our device is a Tegra, and the One M8 is a SnapDragon, we cant port Snapdragon to tegra because it has some other libs (AFAIK)...
so no sense 6 for us 'till we get htc and nvidia over to support the HOX/+ back.
EDIT: I learnt my lesson, never buy htc nor nvidia again since they drop support after not even 5 months...

sorry i did a typo there, i ment the non-international hox (AT&T...) instead of international one
but still that doesnt matter, you cant port something ment for qualcomm to tegra like its draggin something from one to another Phone
the m8 is a qualcomm, hox international and hox+ cant have it, tho the non-international HOX should be able to get it ported over
just lets hope that nVidia will give some more support to tegra 3 api37 so we will get 4.4.x kitkat with sense 6.0+
