Hard bricked with odin re-partition - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys. I am in deep trouble. I was trying to help a friend and its bricked now.
I was flashing CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG2-v4.1-CWM4 with omap4_all_20110627_emmc.pit and unfortunately re-partition was ticked automatically. After the flashing was passed the phone was removed. Now it doesn't turn on or anything. Its dead!
Please somebody gives me a fix please!!

Did you try a USB Jig to get into the download mode?
What happens when you plug in the USB cable? Does Odin recognize the phone?

Try a usb jig and see if you can get into download mode and if that doesn`t work you probably are looking at a Jtag job or Samsung repair service. Is the phone still under warranty?
Is it a I9100 or a I9100G?

Remove the battery and under the battery there should be a model name.
However, if you have the I9100 and not the I9100G you flashed the wrong Pit File. There is a big difference between those devices. I9100 is Exynos based and I9100G is OMAP based. You probably messed up the partition of your phone or even the bootloader by flashing wrong stuff on the device.

Yes you are right mine is I9100. I flashed the wrong Pit file. So can I do anything to unbrick it? If I could get into download mode I could have tried to solve it. but I cant! Moreover the device is getting heated even if its turned off and unplugged. When I put the battery on its heating up itself.

There is no way (at least to my knowledge) to unbrick a hardbricked device without jtag. What you can try is to find someone in your country with a jtag and give him your device, so he can then unbrick it. Maybe there is a Android Forum that is based on your language, I would ask there. In Germany there are quite some people who do this for a little cash, so maybe you can find someone in your country.
Good luck

[Q] alternate way to reset the custom binary counter (if jig is not an option)

I have a malfunction usb connector so usb data transfer or my jig is not working anymore. The data cable and the jig is tested on another I9100, and they worked well. Surprisely the 3key download mode is working, and firmware flash with odin too.
So I need an alternate way to reset the counter before I send it back to warranty service
Is it stored in the bootloader? Can I reflash it with odin?

there is no known alternative way of resetting the counter, if it was as simple as using odin then we would have never worried about using a jig.
So then what is the best way to make a total brick? (result: no 3key recovery or download mode)
I should mess with the bootloader in odin?

LOL!! This is the reverse "I bricked my phone" thread. It's the first time I've seen someone asking how to brick their phone.
I suggest you look at the above mentioned "Hallppz!! I broked mi fonnee" threads and do exactly what they did to brick their phones. Stuff like flashing SGS firmware on SGS2 can help.

It is the first destructive thread in this forum, isn't it?

Thx
I'll try it tomorrow in the evening unless somebody comes up with a better idea.
I'll post here the result
AFAIK, samsung service center won't check for "flashed" phones. When I returned my SGS2(just cf-rooted), they said I should return after 30mins because they'll flash it back to default(They didn't even check, they just said that while I was still filling-up their repair form). But my yellow tint was still there, so I got a new phone. Now no yellow tint visible on the eyes.
gr8... hope i
dont hav to visit warrnty ever..

Galaxy S II I9100 hard-bricked?

Let's pretend a n00b tried to flash an I9000 rom on his I9100. He used Odin. Now, his phone won't turn on at all.
Is it hopeless?

You probably messed up the bootloader by doing this, so if you can`t get into download mode even with a usb jig then you probably looking at a jtag - job, which means you have to find somebody who can do this or you take it to Samsung and play dumb, just say it wouldn`t turn on one day

The device will be hardbricked but there is still hope.
1. JTAG repair
2. Samsung Service repair (free if the device is still under warranty, paid if not)
Thanks guys. I'm in the US, so the warranty isn't valid here I can get it fixed with a JTAG for $30.

If the phone & PC recognise each other via Odin, you could try flashing a full rom package with a pit.
If they don't, you're out of luck. Nothing you can do will fix it. JTAG or service centre. Take your pick.

Phone not turn on at all.
Odin cannot detect
Is it worth a try usb jig ?
Doubt a jig will work. If you can get or make one easily (lots of tutorials on Google/here showing you how to make one), you might as well try it. But if it's going to take you a couple of weeks to get one, you're probably going to be delaying getting your phone fixed for something that has a 1% (realistically a lot less) chance of working at best.

[Q] Help, Bricked or Not??

I got a S II and rooted it, maybe i did a bad flash or sth and now I cant turn my phone on, even odin and recovery, what should I do! Do i have to JTAG it??
Device Model?
What ROM were you on?
What did you try to flash?
Before Jtag, you gotta try USB jig.

Can you get download mode??? have you tried a usb jig???? if no if no download mode then jtag it probably is going to have to be. Good luck :crying: (never good to see an s2 die/go into a coma)
if you manage to recover the poor thing double check you rooted correctly. You wouldn't want to do it again. Im told that jtaging is an expencive game to pay for.

[Q] SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 GT-I9300 lost PIT partitions

hey all i seem to be in need of some help
i have purchased a white samsung galaxy s3 GT I9300
it was ment to be just a simple re-install of the operating system but it would seem there is something more
going on here from what odin is telling me that some how not sure why or how but the samsung phone has lost all partitions(PIT)
it freezes on start up at the screen that shows samsung galaxy s3 GT - I9300 so i went to odin to flash with official os for the phone
but then odin fails with cannot find PIT files my device is a 16gb device
also in download mode the spec list of the device shows product name as blank, and binary samsung offical but the next line states custom
but most disturbing is that device name is blank i know it shouldnt be
also the charge port seems to be half broken it will connect to computer in download mode but will not charge the battery through cable
so my question is im guessing i should get the charge port replaced
and then how do i go about fixing my s3
any and all help appreciated here
Sounds like you might have a damaged phone.
If your sure its a pit problem flash this emergency firmware.
This is a last resort type firmware.

Oh I missed that bit. If the port gets fixed try a standard stock rom first. The one I gave you is for emergency's only.

Thats in very rare cases. 90% of the time flashing a standard stock rom will solve issues.
