Build: It's nice, I actually like the rubberised backing and I love where the speakers are. It's taking a little getting used to as I recently sold my ipad 3. To me, it feels like I don't have to treat it as precious as the ipad, and that is something I really like.
Screen: Sharp as hell, The screen is great. Really great. Sharpest I've seen. The contrast is took some getting used to because my phone is an s3 so I'm used to over saturation. After spending the evening with it yesterday, I actually prefer the more natural looking colours. I did download a black image to look at light bleed and did notice a couple but to be honest, its not something I have ever looked for before and it's not a big deal, its not noticable on mine when using it.
Android 4.2: love the multi log in. Love how smooth it is. Browsing internet so far as been as good as my laptop. I always found Chrome and Safari to be quite annoying on ipad. Still undecided about my preference on the soft keys placement, time will tell! I had forgotton my entire music collection is synced on my laptop to google music, so i got a great suprise when i saw all my music and picasa collection synced.
Apps: I probably don't use apps as much as other people but I do miss some apps from the ipad, things like amazon, ebay etc. and a decent twitter client. I'm sure they will come and they can be just as good (look at expedia on ipad and android for good example) and there is one app you will not see in the app store, one of the main (if naughty) reasons I sold my ipad...utorrent :S
That's all I can think right now...camera is average, as to be expected I guess.

Is the web page scrolling smooth on sites like the verge and droid life articles, especially in the comment section, as smooth as the ipad 3 in safari? That is really my only concern about the tablet after reading the other reviews. I just can't stand stutters when I'm scrolling a web page.

Where abouts is the light bleed located? How much light actually bleeds through? By that I mean is the light bleed spots noticeable brighter or only slightly.
It won't bother you during normal use, but would it if you watched a dark video?

Construction seems generally solid, I like the "grippy" rear on the device - you get have it on your knees without fear of it slipping off. My only gripe is how quickly the screen gets finger-print splattered, but that's a general tablet gripe rather than a Nexus 10 gripe.
Set-Up:
I had ticked the "link to my account" box upon ordering, so it greeted me by name when it booted up. Entering my Google password kicked off the quick & easy set-up process as any applicable apps (not all of them were) are downloaded onto the Nexus 10. Then came a OTA update to Jellybean, and a re-boot. Boot process is very fast - from switch on to login screen seems about 10 seconds.
Display:
As others have said. it is sharp. Very sharp. Zoomed text on web pages looks great. Games look great. Apps optimised for the tablet look great. No complaints about performance. I installed various widgets for email, twitter, FB etc. all without any issues.
User Accounts:
An excellent feature, and was very easy to set-up if you have google accounts for all users. Great for sharing the tablet around the family. My only concern is that now when I purchase an app on my account and someone else in the family want to use it, I will have to purchase it again for them - which is a bit of a gyp.
Battery:
Device came with about 70% battery. I plugged it in to charge whilst I was doing the set-up etc. During this period the device did not seem to gain any charge, but stayed about the same. When left alone on charge (not switched off), it seems to take a long time to charge up - probably managed about 10% in an hour. Left overnight it charged from 50% to full, no problem, but I'm going to see if a 10% or less battery will charge fully overnight tonight. Will not be very happy if it doesn't!

Hi,
I'm at work right now, can try and get a picture when I get in, its not noticable at all when screen in normal use, in black screen there is a very small amount in the top right hand corner and one in the bottom to the far left.
one thing i forgot to mention, the battery! seems good BUT I put it on charge at 10pm last night when it was 10% and by 7am it was at 91%. pretty slow by any standards, maybe just cos its a first charge but we will see though i have heard the pogo plug bit should charge much faster!

Gonna have a more in depth look at this tonight, but as each additional user I set-up was done using different gmail accounts & for each one it asked if I wanted to register a credit card, I concluded that apps purchases were done per account rather than per device. Hope not though!
First Impressions:
Slick fulfillment - Ordered 16gb at 11:16 am in UK on Tuesday, arrived 23 hours later!
Nice box Decent charge in battery
Looks cheap compared to the finish on my departed TF201, though feels nice in the hand.
Bezel looks slightly too large at sides due to the speakers.
Lovely screen, some very very minor light bleed, certainly nothing compared to my TF201.
Takes ages to charge via the micro USB, a faster solution is needed urgently.
4.2 being very early days mean a good few of my regularly used apps like MX Player and Boat Browser do not yet work.
Here is one I took last night with normal screen i nthe dark. perfect for movie watching, no?

Haven't received my N10 yet however with the Android phones my family uses I created a "family" Gmail account that some purchases are made under. I add that "family" account as a secondary account on the phones (making sure to uncheck all sync options) and the apps are then available for all family members via the Play Store.

So I really really REALLY like SGS2 and would love to get one. But before I do, one question...
I like to keep my phone plugged in and turned on while I'm at work or at home at the computer. But having done some reading, I see that SGS2 is susceptible to the screen burn in issue. Is that true? Should I not get it in that case?
As I said, I REALLY like the phone, but if I need to change my usage habits just to avoid a known issue, I'd rather look for an alternative.

I've never had a phone with an amoled screen, so I can only go off of others' experience.
What I'm wondering about is if there are any solutions that would go along with my usage habits. I don't remember what phone I was reading about (Nexus One?), but it had a feature where it would display a moving clock screensaver when docked in. Something along those lines when plugged into USB? Or maybe there are some new technology improvements in SGS2 that I don't know about?

If you're going to leave the screen on for a long time every day on the same screen, there will be a burn in. But I imagine with normal use (even for extended periods of time, but the screen changes screens often) there shouldn't be any problems.
So I'd probably skip on this phone if you leave the phone on for 8 hours on the same screen. Maybe the HTC Sensation? Also a VERY good phone, just not as good as the SGS2 ^^

Yeah, my main concern is when I'm at work, since I'm at my desk most of the time there. I'll probably have to settle on the Sensation after all. As you said, it's really nice, but not quite as good as SGS2. Such a shame >_<

I text a lot and get a bunch of emails usually. It really annoys me to have to turn on/unlock the phone every time I get a notification. It's nice to see it a glance when it's on the desk in front of you.

text app like handcent allows your screen to turn on when you receive a message with a popup message, you can read it immediately and reply instantly without pressing any extra button.

Yeah, I actually use it. But I don't always read the texts right away while working. And if the phone is unplugged, it will go back to sleep after a popup shows up.
It's just a personal preference =)
Its funny how lazy people have gotten.
I had original sgs2 for about a year and left it on bright screens with random things on with no burn in issues.
Had sgs2 for a month and have left it on overnight while on lockscreen(bright orange) and others and have no burn in issues.
I haven't personally seen any claims of burn on these forums or sgs forums. Just mostly people asking about it.

But that's interesting that there's been no reports of it happening... Hmm wonder if I should just say F it and go for it. But then again, I guess you'd have to be consistent about leaving your screen on for long periods of time. I doubt it would burn in if you leave it on for a night or two.
Why don't you go search some of the SGS and variant threads as well as the Nexus S. They use the same screen technology and have been out a lot longer. If they aren't experiencing issues you probably won't either.

I did search before creating the thread. I saw some people reporting burn ins on other phones, but wasn't sure if anything has been improved lately technology-wise that could prevent the issue. I guess not...
I do realize though that it's quite early to see such reports on SGS2.

yes you can and will burn in your AMOLED screen if left on all the time.
my nexus one actually has in the instruction manual to not use the phone for more than 30 minutes of screen on time. that's actually written in the OFFICIAL manual. perhaps later generations of amoled from samsung got better, but burn in still will happen.
note: i use my nexus one with screen on for 3 hours at a time, but i just dont leave a static image in one spot. i'm constantly web browsing etc so no real issue of major burn in. however my status bar did get burnt into the screen after the first month of owning the nexus one. not bad, but present.

there are PLENTY of threads right here at XDA complaining about burn in on samsung amoled and super amoled screens. start in the nexus one forum, then search the galaxy s forum.
So I've had the xoom since release and just got a trial Jetstream from AT&T. Here's my thoughts on the Jetstream, from a Xoom user.
One of the first things I noticed in trying to recreate my interface was that the accounts & sync section does not allow you to sync picasa. I'm guessing this is HTC being in bed with flikr, but yeah, it was disappointing to have to find another method to get my background image on there.
Beyond that, though, the HTC flourishes on the software side are fantastic. The browser has an updated, tabbed interface. The music player is a tablet version of the HTC music app for phones. A dock mode in the clock app for desktop use gives a nice time and weather and email and social networking heads up, even though the dock has not been released yet.
And speaking of accessories, this thing doesn't even have a case yet. Then again, neither did the xoom when first released, so it can be forgiven. I haven't gotten to try the pen because I couldn't make it to a best buy or att store to pick it up, which upset me a bit. I have SBM and was looking forward to trying it out. Oh well.
The screen is brighter on the Jetstream. Since I do a lot of work in convention centers with that god-awful lighting, brightness helps.
Another oddity is that the market has Netflix available for the Jetstream, and it streams wonderfully. It's odd because we still don't have Netflix for the xoom, and that makes me sad :-(
The 4G connection had some issues connecting to the market when i first got the device in Miami. I remember this happening with other android devices immediately after activation though, and it seems to have cleared up over the last few days.
The Jetstream is a tiny bit taller and deeper than the xoom. Battery life on the two seems similar at first glance, although I know I rely far more heavily on the xoom.
The Jetstream has a single micro-usb input on the bottom fr data and charging. It claims to charge when connected to the computer, but the computer delivers 5v and the wall charger delivers 9v. When plugged into the computer for a few hours, the battery went up 1%. The cable it comes with looks funny, but a standard micro-usb works like a charm.
So what will it take to get me to switch from my xoom? A nice case is all it needs, really. I like the updated UI elements from HTC, and the screen brightness coupled with Netflix are very helpful. It's also a good thing that it ships with the LTE enabled, since Verizon still hasn't offered me the upgrade on that. Bastards.
Another nice touch is that att ships it with a bandwidth monitor widget so you always know how much data you have left and when the plan rolls over.
Alright, so that's my review. After using these forums for my evo and xoom since I got them, I'm now contributing. Yay.

I recently bought a used Xperia Active mainly to be used as a cycling computer (with the awesome app OruxMaps) and for recording my runs using Endomondo. The stock ROM was bloated with all sorts so after a few days it just had to go.
First I flashed CM10.1 but apparently the BT stack is borked on that so Ant+ is not working, so I flashed CM10 and everything works great or at least everything that I need. It connects to my BT x-fit headphones, BT Polar HRM and Ant+ B'Twin Speed and Cadence sensor without any major issues - the audio cuts out occasionally but I'm not sure if it's an issue with Google Music/All Access or a 3G connectivity or BT issue and haven't bothered investigating to be honest.
I've read that the BT stack in 4.3 is better and supports BT BLE which I might decide to use for fitness accessories - although reading about Ant+, it sounds a far better option for that sort of thing.
So, is CM10.2 likely to come to the Active? I'm assuming there shouldn't be an issue in terms of hardware, is there?
Also, if there are any fellow runners/cyclists with any app suggestions to motivate/record/map/etc I'd like to hear from you!
My setup as I said is OruxMaps for cycling. I tried IpBike which is not bad either, but didn't like the UI. I also tried a couple of other apps, but haven't seen anything that I liked. Apparently Cyclemeter is great on the i-Devices but their FAQ says: "We do hope to do an Android version of our app, but it’s not in our near term plans. We’ve had a great response from customers on the iPhone, and they provide lots of feedback for us about new features they’d like to see. Wish we could have said otherwise, it would be great to have you as a customer!"
OruxMaps uses MapMyTracks.com for live tracking and you can email the GPX of your ride to Strava straight from the app. BTW, I have no association with OruxMaps!
For running I have a premium subscription with Endomondo. I like the flexibility of the audio coach and I just noticed that they have a new beta feature on their website: 'Training Plans' where you enter your goal, goal date, number of training days, pace, etc and it creates a... Training Plan. Probably not as good as getting a customised training plan from a coach, but it's probably on par to the generic ones you can find online. I also export my runs and import them to Strava.
Regarding Strava, they have a much better looking website than Endomondo, and without a doubt the segments for cycling are awesome, but their apps are a long way from being great. Apart from being much less customisable, they only support Zephyr HxM and have no plans on supporting Polar HRMs. Apparently "there are connectivity issues with Polar HRMs and they want to give their customers the best possible experience!". I have used my Polar HRM with a number of different apps, phones and Android versions and it seems to be working fine 99% of the time, so I don't see why they can't support it. Also, it's hard to justify paying almost double of what Endomondo's premium subscription costs - but perhaps their analysis is better?

I've been considering buying this device to be used for working out as well, so thanks for confirming that Google Play Music will work on it! I'll be interesting to see if things get better with different ROMs.
Amazing! I thought I was the only one. I was on a year long quest to find the perfect (and better) substitute for the ever popular garmin 800 series. I do a lot of credit card touring, lots of country riding where I create the route using ridewithgps, DL as gpx and off I go. Oruxmaps has proved to be the perfect app for me when I'm doing any real riding/recording, and I use an app called Osmand+ if I'm doing a little bit more exploratory or want better navigation options (its got far better offline POI capabilities, so it helps if you get stuck in a rainstorm and need to find some kind of nearby shelter). I'm pumped to hear someone else went this route as most of my racing buddies are too high brow to get anything other than a garmin.
On a sidenote, I came up with a pretty incredible and simple (read: easy to do if you're a dummy with epoxy) way to get the male bit of the garmin mount on the back of the xperia so I could use all the low profile and cool garmin mounts. If you're interested let me know and I can give you a super easy step by step.
All that said, I'm really struggling to find a reason to root/mod the phone. I use it purely as a cycling computer right now (but plan to probably get my music on there too depending on battery life). It performs amazingly at this task as-is. Super snappy, the only thing I hate is having to look at the extra icons of the apps I'll never use. One thing I really wanted to get from rooting was the ability to skip the lock screen as that gets pretty annoying during a ride and potentially so I could remap the hardware buttons to something more useful while cycling (perhaps have it cycle through all the available apps? dunno, but it sounds cool). But, I found an app that lets you skip the lockscreen, so that major requirement has already been met.
Aside from the bloatware, have you found any nice advantages to rooting and putting on CM? Thanks in advance -

@tartanblue @laquer09 What I found when I flashed CM10 was that the phone is snappier and the battery lasts a lot longer. Although I didn't do any scientific testing, with the stock ROM I would ride for an hour or so, leave it unplugged overnight and that was that pretty much. (no other usage, just on standby) With CM10 I was really surprised that it lasted a similar ride and more than 48 hours on standby. It's not a huge achievement in the sense that I have turned off all syncing, there's no Facebook or anything running, but the stock ROM has a lot of stuff running. Another thing that CM10 fixed was the super annoying flickering issue and also, at full brightness at CM10 is a lot brighter than stock, which seemed to go very bright as soon as I unlocked it and then dim. I checked the setting and it was not on auto brightness and tried with the Bravia engine on and off. Didn't work. CM10 fixed it.
I like having the screen on during the right to check cadence, speed, etc as I ride, so on the odd occasion that we were graced with a sunny day, increased brightness helped! Although I think OruxMaps has a setting to keep the screen on I use Screebl (I've linked to the paid version, but there's a free Lite version too which works well, but I found it so useful, that I just had to support the dev. I've been using it since the days of my HTC Magic - Oh how far we've come!!)
Also, as a stock Nexus user, Sony's software is just... revolting! Even the little things like the toggles in the notifications drawer is great. (and I prefer the CM way to the Google way... but what can you do?)
Having said that, for purely cycling purposes I guess stock or CM10 doesn't make a huge difference. Also, flashing the Active was a bit more complicated than I would've liked.
Regarding mounts, I got the xperia active bike holder from SportyPal (Review) and it's simple, solid and having the Active on it really looks like it's a Garmin. (when I read it back it looked like I was embarrassed about using the Active instead of the Garmin, but I didn't mean it like that!! Just that the whole mount+Active combo is quite diminutive!)
I also recently heard about the Finn and thought for 12 euros it'd be rude not to get one. When the weather is good I'd like to try recording with OruxMaps on the Active and maybe the Strava Cycling app on the Nexus 4 and see how different the results are.
Honestly though I do wish Strava pulled their finger out and sorted out their apps. How cool (and I imagine relatively easy for developers who are worth their salt) it would be to have proper BT/Ant+ support, customisable dashboard and segment notifier which would buzz to let you know that you're entering a segment!! And they would totally kill it if they added track creation capabilities on their website! But I'm just dreaming!

3. A razor blade or hobby knife...something pretty dang sharp and fairly rigid. This will be used for cutting the male bit.
4. Like 45 minutes of time
What to do:
1. Take the male bit thingy from the package of stuff - image attached. Cut it around the raised edge. You can see where I cut mine in one of the attached images. The plastic was actually not difficult to cut, at all.
2. Score both the back of the xperia and the male bit pretty good. I used the edge of a scissor to do it and it worked fine.
3. Take out that epoxy, cut a bit of it off, and knead it with your fingers (basically, read the instructions on how to use it. I am not awesome at this kind of stuff and it was really straightforward).
4. Put the kneaded putty on the back of the phone, then simply press that male bit into the putty. Wait the recommended amount of time for setting (pretty sure its between 1-2 hours)
You're done. Go get whatever garmin mount you like (I really like the SRAM one that sits out in front of the bars, but you can use any of their mounts or the sweet looking barfly one.
Couple things to note
- I waaay overused the putty here. This was supposed to be my test case so I was overdoing it on purpose. Functionally its totally fine, but it is a tad ugly. After you plop the male bit onto the putty, you could probably trim a bunch of it.
- Scared its not going to hold? Don't worry, I was too. This is where that what-I-thought-was-completely-useless-lanyard comes into play. I actually put the lanyard in the phone and then ran the lanyard over my bars. I did this maybe for the first week, but I live in Chicago and I tested it using my cross bike / commuter over some really really really crappy roads with my tires at 110. I was pretty convinced after a week and stopped using the lanyard. And then I lowered my psi back to normal chicago 90 so my butt wouldn't hurt anymore Still, better safe than sorry right.
- One cool side benefit, among 100s of others, is the flashlight feature of the phone. Now, I just set it to strobe and turn it on at night...boom, no longer need a bike light
- Using bluetooth headphones and whatever music app you want rules. I didn't know how much I'd adore it before I tried...but having the ability to cycle through songs, albums, playlists....amazing.
- My xperia came with 2 backs...one black and one white. This, my supposed to be test case, is the white one. As you can see, it gets dirty. Might want to use the black one and maybe paint/marker up the putty so it matches.
Let me know if you've got any questions, and good luck. I could not be flipping happier about the way this all turned out, and my racing buddies are starting to get jealous. Lets see...a garmin 810 for 600 bucks, or a phone that has multiple options for mapping/tracking (free), can be your music player and emergency phone call maker (or anything else you can do with the android platform) for a whopping 188 bucks and maybe 20 bucks on the mount stuff.

No problem - I'd love to post it on a cycling blog/forum if you can point me to the right one. There are so many out there...I've never actually joined any. I could also put it on G+...PM me your email address and I'll add you into one of my groups and post it there. Even though this solution was simple, it took me a darn long time to come up with and I'd love to save folks the time/effort/money/despair.
FWIW, I used it on a 60mi custom route I made this weekend and it was friggin flawless. Not a single missed turn and the route was perfect. I've recently started listening to music using it via my BT headphones. That is so much win I can barely handle it.

It connects to my BT x-fit headphones, BT Polar HRM and Ant+ B'Twin Speed and Cadence sensor without any major issues - the audio cuts out occasionally but I'm not sure if it's an issue with Google Music/All Access or a 3G connectivity or BT issue and haven't bothered investigating to be honest.

Hey everyone. I've had my Z Ultra for almost a week and am loving the size. The Note 2 feels super small in my hands now. However, I've been encountering some issues with mine which is the C6806 version and wanted to see if there were anybody else experiencing these issues:
1. "Smudges" on the screen which do not seem to go away - I've noticed there is a patch of "smudge" which stays there regardless of how much I attempt to rub it off with my shirt or fingers. From another post I read, it looks like it could be the anti-fingerprint coating coming off.
2. Running hot even with screen off - I've noticed that the phone will sometimes become very warm during use and even with the screen off. Granted this may be some apps I'm running but I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary compared to what I did on my Note 2. I do have Skype running, Lookout, and Microsoft Lync along with emails facebook and such. I'm not running anything intensive.
3. "Silver flake" in the screen - it almost looks like a reverse dead pixel. When I have my screen off, the spot looks silver when seen in the light.
4. Battery life is short - I know the phone is massive and it has a big screen so I wasn't expecting anything better than my Note 2. However, it has been only 6-7 hours and my battery has drained to 20% with somewhat light usage. I'm not checking my phone constantly or anything and had made a phone call which lasted about 10 minutes. I do have Stamina mode with 5 apps added to the list of not to disable (Skype, Lync, AT&T messages, and two others). I also have the SmartWatch 2 connected so not sure if this is contributing to the poor battery life.
Just wanted to see if anybody has experienced any of these issues. I will probably exchange it for another one once I get back from travels. Based on some quick searching of the forums, it doesn't seem like there are many issues but it seems majority of users have the C6802 or C6833 as the C6806 just came out on Oct. 15th (I believe) so hopefully it is this particular model.

Only one I have experienced is battery life and it will improve on its own. Batteries have to be charged and discharged a few times before you can accurately gage the battery life. I did notice one weird pixel but I can only see it when phone is booting. During normal use its gone.

- smudges on the screen are because of the coating on the sony screen protector. The coating is wearing off.
# Options: Take it back and sony will replace it. Then the next time they wont! You will need to apply a screen protector.
- Temperature. Its aluminium and glass. Heat dispersion will be good, but it will also feel hotter than other plastic devices due to convection of these materials.
# Options: Don't have it in your pocket as that will keep the device warm. 2: Don't worry about it. Unless its over 60 degrees its fine. And if it was over 60 degrees you wouldn't be able to touch it.
- Dead pixel. - Probably is a dead pixel. Replacement
- Battery - allowing wifi and other modems to remain on during stamina mode kinda defeats the purpose. With skype on, all hardware associated with this will remain on.
7 hours is about average with heavy/moderate use. I get between 7-10 hours per day depending on use.

IMHO I agree with above poster, get it returned. Mine doesn't run hot at all unless I'm running a big game or something, certainly not when it's off.
It sounds like there's a wake lock or something if it's hot even when it's off and this would point to the bad battery life. If you want to confirm this install betterbatterystats from the playstore and keep it logging for a 24 hour period including a couple of charge cycles.
I would suggest there's something amiss though definitely, whether it's hardware or software remains to be seen.

Thanks everyone for the input. I purchased mine from a Sony Store and it hasn't been 30 days yet (only less than a week as mentioned) so will go attempt to exchange. Hopefully they don't accuse me of causing this damage. I did the software upgrade yesterday evening to 2.257 and it seems like the phone does not get warm as often.
I hope it is just hardware issues. I really like this phone as I've been looking to combine my tablet and phone. I had a Note 2 / Note 10.1 combination but found that I very rarely used my tablet as it is something extra to lug around. The Z Ultra is a perfect (almost) combination as it provides me the portability of a phone but with the screen real estate of a tablet. It's nice to game on as well, downloaded a few games on the PlayStation Mobile app.
If this doesn't workout, I'll probably go to a Z/Z1 and Z Tablet combination.
I was in your situiation and got replaced. Now the phone seems perfect to me. No dead pixel. Good battery. I watch 2 soccer matches about 3 hours and it drained down to 55%.

Screen auto brightness keeps it way too dim in a dark room.
Over sharpening text on certain webpages (Certain text on a light colored backgrounds looks awful until you zoom way in, basically unuseable sites).
On screen buttons mean less screen real estate (screenshot).
Need the ability to hide home row buttons on ALL screens (system apps too).
Knock off doesn't work on Google Now Launcher. (thanks to nfuNk user I discovered this still works if you double-tap the notifications bar, but not a real solution.)
Google Play Services using tons of battery life (no longer the case after first day... problem solved because LG appears to fake battery usage).
Way too much space used by toggles and sliders in notifications drop down. Killing volume slider was a must just to make it usable for other notifications.
Charging port is hard to plug into even with included cable and feels like it's going to bust sometimes. You have to slide in from the top. Very un-inotive.
My MHL adapter won't plug in at all and I found out it's because LG uses Slimport to do HDMI. What was wrong with MHL?

Just my complaints. Absolutely no pro's are included. I really want to keep this phone because there is a lot about it that I like but much of the cons are making me rethin it. Why aren't their more companies offering good batteries, NFC/Qi backs, etc.?
On number 29, I believe after ten it wipes your phone not lock you out. So ten might be a good idea.
On your overall list I don't see anything that is a big deal except maybe the display seems to bother you quite a bit. All the rest of the stuff are just the usual annoyances. Might not see the exact same issues on another phone but there will be just as many.
That said if the display really bothers you a lot you should return it.
Oh yay, a "convince me" thread. Show some sack, and make your own decisions. If there are things you don't like, only you can decide if you can live with them. How is anyone supposed to convince you?
If you don't like stock screen brightness use Lux.
You can use any other Launcher that supports Gestures and set up Knock Off with that without any issues.
You can try changing your DPI to gain more screen real estate.
You can use Flex Multi Window app to add whatever apps you want to the Multi Window.
You can change your LED for notifications with various apps and mods.
My WiFi works far better than it did on my S4 so not sure why yours isn't?
I think most of your dislikes could be fixed without getting a new phone. Every phone will have it's list of " annoying things " I think the G3 is a great phone myself even without a custom recovery and Roms. Although I'm excited to get that going as well

I've got until next Thursday to return mine. All of my problems deal in the LGDroid software. If the phone's bootloader is unlocked I will be happier than a hound dog eating steak.

Fair enough. But I'm use to having spare batteries that are as good as the original for $26 and come with a travel size wall charger. I don't think I'm going to get that with the G3.

On Amazon now you can get an OEM Battery for $30 or you can get the Caseology or Trendon 2 Battery + AC/USB Charger for about $30 as well.
Those ones people are saying are about 90% of what the OEM one is I guess.

Links please? All the batteries I see on Amazon that have supposed good reviews are stuffed with fake reviews that turned out to be junk when I researched them elsewhere.
I know a lot of Anker batteries aren't all that great but their warranty is fantastic and I have first hand experience with that. It's the reason I have 3 reasonably well working batteries and two compact wall chargers that work more than well enough for traveling for a measly $26 for my GS4. That option doesn't even exist for the G3.

Well a friend of mine has the Caseology ones that he ordered right from Amazon. I'll look for the link but it's the ones with 2 Batteries and a Charger.
And I've spoken to a few here on XDA that got the OEM LG Battery off there as well and they've said that Battery is just the same same as the one that came with the phone, even though the writing on the Battery differs a little from the stock one... Same Battery and it's made in LG factory I guess.
I'm with you though.. I miss having my Anker Battery I had for my S4. That Battery was awesome.
LG and the other companies haven't made it easy to get a good spare at all.

I got a trendon battery for 15 works just as good as LG battery.

And with root you can use xposed gel settings module to fix the knock on issue an the g3 tweaks module to fix every other thing I missed from my nexus 5 I got tired of reading after the first few issues but for me this is an awesome phone an I'm keeping it at least till the next nexus comes out

Thanks everyone for all the tips on various apps and ways to fix some of the things that are bothering me. If I keep this phone (and I probably will) I'll look into rooting so that i can do a lot of the xposed stuff.
Root it and just about all your complaining will go away even the on screen buttons
on #1: maybe you are wrong about what is way too dim. when you are in a dark environment with the fone beeing pretty much the only light source you should keep it as dim as possible. give your eyes like half a minute to adapt to it. otherwise you possibly damage the low light reception of your eyes in the long run.
You already made your choice since you list 30 problems.

That might be true. Maybe my old phone was just way too bright and needlessly killing battery since I can see this one just fine. It's just a shock and something I noticed right away.

Not at all. I only listed the negatives. There are plenty of positives about this phone and that's why I needed to point out everything I don't like about it to try and convince myself to save $599. I want to keep it, but not if there is something out there as compact with as big of a screen as this. I'm afraid I won't find it so I'll be "stuck" with this G3.
I'm test driving a iPhone through T-Mobile right now and I absolutely hate everything about it except the fingerprint scanner. It's amazing. I hope LG can copy that tech into the G4 as a back button. It's even better than knock code IMO.
