Any glass screen protectors out there? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I don't think there are any at all for our phone. Spigen doesn't have any plans to make one either.

This is just one helluva coincidence; I was looking for this yesterday! I was put off by a scathing review of Zagg's HD protector that stated it scratched easily, which somehow made me aware of Spigen's glass iPhone 5 protector and their lack of one for the ELTE.

Just get the sgp crystal clear.. Good as glass.

Why would you want a glass protector to protect glass? Wouldn't that be like having a vest made out of another persons skin and using it like a bullet proof vest?

Haha… funny point, but if I wanted to have the look and feel of a human with the ability to replace damaged skin, this would be the way to go (even if it basically turns me into Buffalo Bill). As for the “bullet proof vest” part, I don’t think that the Zagg shield would be any better than a glass sheet at protecting the screen itself against a direct impact; their main purpose is for scratch protection.

A screen protector isn't meant to prevent breakage. It's merely there to protect the screen from scratches and gouges from every day use. Really, even a crappy screen protector would still come between the elements and the screen itself, so it would serve this purpose plenty well.
If there was an unbreakable screen protector with impeccable light transmittance then I'd wonder why our screens aren't made out of that instead.

Not a solution to your glass screen protector, but just so you know that at least a few of the regular style aren't bad at all!!
I can personally attest for the Zagg HD and the Otterbox screen protectors. My parents and I have all had the Zagg HD screen protector on our Evo LTEs since launch day, and none of them have a single mark on them! I have since purchased a white Evo LTE (since they weren't an option during pre-orders) and have the Otterbox installed on it. I like the way it looks and feels MUCH better than the Zagg HD!!! I would actually replace the Zagg HD with an Otterbox on my black Evo LTE if I wasn't planning to sell it. The Otterbox isn't even visible unless you are really looking for a screen protector! It feels just like the bare screen, better than any screen protector I've ever used in the past(which is quite a lot as I've been using touch screen smartphones for almost 6 years now and update phones at least once a year). Either choice is pretty scratch resistant! I assume the Otterbox would be the easier of the two to scratch, as you'd have to be trying really hard to leave a permanent scratch on the Zagg as it "heals" itself from any marks within a couple days. That said, I still think the Otterbox is a better choice as I baby my devices anyway, and the looks/feels outweigh the scratch resistance of the Zagg. Just throwing in my 2 cents...

I've been using the Zagg HD since it came out and I love it. Yes when the screen is off and I hold it at certain angles I can see minute scratches but I can't feel them or see them when the screen is on. The other thing I like about it is it does feel really close to what the screen actually feels like. The normal Zagg does not.

The Thunderbolt's screen: Plastic, Glass, Gorilla Glass?

Probably won't know for sure until after the release of the device, but whats the scuttlebutt on its screen?
I'm seriously considering one, but I don't really like using screen protectors. Think the Thunderbolt will have a Gorilla Glass screen? Plastic?
A side note, we need to stop screwing around and invent transparent aluminum.
I hope its glass
But its more than likely going to be plastic

Whatever is on my Eris is pretty tough, haven't scratched it since release.
I got news for HTC, if this phone releases at the $749 price point, it had better not have a plastic screen.

I would be inclined to agree. 750 dollars is a steep price for a phone, it'd better be full blown gorilla glass for that price tag.
its 10000% scratch resistant glass (gorilla glass ? not posotive) but its not ****ty plast....old desire was plastic....desire hd was glass

May o' HTC reps have said that the DINC has a gorilla glass screen.
Just sayin.
Hopefully, we'll be seeing the TB soon. Who's going to use a screen protector?
Personally, I dislike them. They can make even the most beautiful screen look like crap if you get so much as a partial finger print on the wrong side of the film. On a plastic screen, they're probably a good idea though. Screens should be durable enough to handle being slid into/out of pockets and other general use without scratching them.
I hate screen protectors. I do put back covers on the phones though. I have used invisishield and I hated it. It ruins the smooth touch screen experience. My fingers would jam on the screen sometimes and sometimes the screen wont recognize when I swiped my finger.
No go on the protector.

What reason do you have to believe this, out of curiosity?
I bought this DInc for $550 and best buy is selling it, today, for $599 so I wouldn't be surprised if you're right, but I do wonder how you arrived at that particular number.

HTC uses Opaque Aluminum-Silicone Base for their screens. This is basically Gorilla Glass.
Why is it called "Opaque" when it is see-through?
They don't want it to be called transparent aluminum for some reason?

Best one hands down.
I used Ghost Armor on my evo 4g and just put it on my 3d and love it, much better then zagg (smoother) and they send you 2 of them, and if those get messed up they will send you new ones (you pay shipping on new ones, thats it, but you have to send your used ones back w/ supplied delivery method)

Im using the Zaggs smudge finger print resistant version and i like it.
im using SGP antifingerprint/antiglare
I'm using seidio ultimate screen guard. I had it on my evo 4g and liked it. I had the zagg on my 3vo at first but it was too sticky for me. The seidio screen guard is a lot smoother and goes on easily with no bubbles. I recommend it.
Boxwave crystal screen protectors
And boom goes the Shooter...
I also have the seidio but my experience with the application was far different. I guess its possible I got a bad one but there were specs on the back which became air bubbles which I can't remove. I have installed many screen protectors like this one but never had this much trouble. Unfortunately Seidio doesn't stand behind these.
On my original Evo 3D device I had a Zagg Invisibleshield on it. But, after I got a new phone I tried a screen protector simlar to the one in the ebay ad above. Although the actual screen protector I'm using now covers the entire screen, is really smooth, and came with a plastic clamshell case (that I'm not using).
The screen protector and plastic clamshell case are made by Beyond Cell.
Goodluck with whatever you choose...
had zagg no smudge protector, then switched to zagg regular. Smudge proof protector made screen look a bit cloudy to me. good luck on your search!

SGP Ultra Crystal are my favorite.
I've tried 4 different brands now, each has had it's own drawback.
Cloudy, gritty feeling, not as clear, some were "rubbery", some peeled up on the edges, one even smudged more than the glass.
In the end, I went back to just the plain screen, none were as ever as nice as the plain glass was.
I'll just have to be careful with my screen.
Just don't use the Sprint's store stock screen protector. The regular (glare) one had WAYYY too much reflection that I couldn't see anything. The non-glare one was a lot easier to read however it def. took away the quality of the screen. White seems to have rainbow crystals in them.
I'm also looking for a new screen protector now.
Why use a screen protector? I never get scratches unless i drop it.
Every screen protector ruins the screen quality more then even some small scratches and the glass on the Evo 3d is even stronger than on my Desire witch still looks great after more than a year with no protection at all.
No screenprotect is the way to go. Best feeling and experience

Was gonna mention this, the EVO 3d officially has gorilla glass which has a hardness rating of 7 I believe so unless you are always around sand/quartz or anything with a hardness rating above 7 like crushed diamonds all the time then you are fine going naked

[Q] Is screen protector needed?

Since the Photon has gorilla glass, I don't understand why I would put a piece of plastic on the screen to protect it from scratches. Why are people buying screen protectors? Screen protectors were invented when the glass was prone to scratching.

Because gorilla glass isn't scratch proof, its scratch resistant. I've already got a tiny chip on the face (barely noticeable) from accidentally dropping it flat on the face onto the floor at work (tile floor)
The phone feels better without one but the screen protector is a must. I just need to find the right one that doesn't interfere with the amazing feeling of my raw screen

Also depends on what you do for a living, your activities, how you carry your phone, etc. I use one because my job requires me to be in the office and the field. However, others never use screen protectors on any phone and never get a scratch. I love how the screen feels without it but until I'm close to my upgrade date the protector is staying on.

1. What they said!
2. My last 4 phones as soon as I got them I walked immediately across the mall and got GhostArmour installed. Now I have OtterBox.
3. Although I treat Photon like 2-day old baby, I would not be caught dead without screen protector. I have sold all my phones for more than I paid from them and when I say "Not a scratch on it" I mean exactly that!

$300.00? LMAO!
I paid $600.00 to tell Sprint "Give me the box and kiss my black a**, I'm not signing anything!
$50.00 for 32Gb Class 10 MicroSDHC Card I got in mail the same day.
$45.00 to have GhostArmor Installed.
$34.00 drinking at Fridays while GhostArmor Installed.
$39.00 back to Sprint because I wanted new leather case.
Subtract drinks, $734.00! da** skippy I will kick out a few $$$ for some protection!!! (But, before anyone calls me a sucker, I got $300.00 for Evo with SanDisk Class 2 32Gb!) So, $434.00, again, without drinks at Fridays but the joy of dissing Sprint!
i have used screen protectors on every, from my evo, to my ds, to point and shoots, if its got glass and its mobile, it has a protetor however i broke that with my mopho. it hat 2 almost invisible nicks on it when i bought it [off contract unblemished aside from those two nicks] for 250, with box and everything.
ive since noticed what i can best describe as swirl marks. they look like a bad orbital polish on a cars paint job. that being said its only noticable under bright light with the screen brightness down. so i just let auto brightness do its thing and i dont really notice them.
I like the anti glare ones i can't stand the shinyness and all the finger prints off the regular screen, drives me crazy, also i like the matte feel of them too.

Always a screen protector for me. Probably not necessary for me - it's usually in a dress shirt pocket, sometimes a holster.
But, once in a while, in a jeans pocket -- and all it takes is a few pieces of sand in a jeans pocket.... (Some of the harder mineral particles in sand are about all that appear to scratch Gorilla Glass)
Seidio screen protector all of the way!
I never bought a screen protector for my photon, was broke after buying it, but I don't feel the need to get one.
I usually don't like the feel of screen protectors, a lot I've tried stick too much. If I were going to buy one I'd get a Steinheil, used one on my Evo and it felt like the protector wasn't even there.
First, use a screen protector, later retracted, now, after two months - not a scratch. The main thing - the careful use!

Just a warning for screen protectors

When using wet apply screen protectors, and drawing with the pen, you may notice your pen strokes are in the protector. It will create a textured feel. I like it, but some may not.

Does this with Zagg Dry Apply too- that's what I'm using. Has to do with the coating of the protector being soft. Some protectors have a hard surface and wont show.

I'm wondering if you might have accidentally installed the cover of the screen protector itself on the phone. My last 2 Zaggs had covers over the actual screen protector that adheres to a white piece of paper. The cover over the screen protector was branded but the protector itself was not. Just a thought.
I figured out that if you scratch and rub the zagg logo it comes off fairly easily.
The zagg ones have branding on the side that goes on tje glass. You applied it upside down. Happened to me my.first time and now i use bse and xtreme guards

The indent the pen makes will heal it self in a about a day. I noticed after sketching the other day that I had all these marks, kinda looked ugly. Went to bed and the next morning it was if they were not there.
Returned my Zagg protector. While it offered grip, the S-pen sensitivity decreased for me. When I increased the pressure of my writing it had too much drag.

Zagg Full Body Invisible Shield vs. SGP Crumena Leather Pouch

okay. I'm not looking at cases for now, and I would rather want my phone naked. HOWEVER, I'm still scared to have it completely naked. I have ordered screen protector from sgp, and I wonder which one I should get between Zagg's full body invisible shield and SGP Crumena leather pouch.
Zagg invisible shield can keep the same original look of the phone and prevent the scratch. http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-evo-4g-lte-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
SGP Crumena leather pouch can make me feel and look the sleekness of the phone when I use, and it.can keep my phone from scratches when it's in my purse. http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/htc/evo-4g-lte/htc-evo-4g-lte-crumena-leather-pouch-series.html
Not sure which one is better. What do you all think?
There's no reason why you can't have both. However if it does come down to one or the other, I recommend the invisibleShield. I've used them on countless devices (two blackberries, my old iPod, three previous phones, my tablets and not to mention the installations I did for family and friends) and out of all of those I've only had ONE scratch (and I had it replaced for free) but it did save the screen on my device.
The pouch is also nice because it will keep dust and other stuff off your phone and it might even protect it a bit if you (oh, please don't let this happen) drop it. However the shield is permanently on, meaning it will always protect you from scratches. You'll only have it in the pouch when you are not using it.
I stay away from anything named Zagg. Ugly rubber junk.

I've actually had them leave residue in the past. That was the thing that made me try other brands that led me to realize Zagg was one of the worst products on the market, just marketed well. I just don't understand why anyone would use a product that destroys screen clarity and feel as much as Zagg does.

I am using the Skinomi full body. It took time to put on, but it was easy to do. I wanted to protect my phone from scratches when I didn't want to use a case. The HTC logo on the back took about 3 days to fill in, but it did completely. Skinomi customer service is fantastic. They sent me out a replacement for the screen protector because of a defect and did not want the defective one sent back the way zagg does. Also, the screen protector self heals where I found that zagg hd does not. I have had pouches un the past, but ended up not using them because I found them to be a pain. I bought a few cruzerlites in different colors as well as the matte black Diztronic just for extra protection when I'm at the pool, etc. These cases are fantastic, very thin, and it's fun to change around the colors. I hope this helps.
